SHOW OPENING-showing clips of the various Toronto area stars
The show opens with Guy Schilling at his spot behind the desk on the Maple Leaf Wrestling set…
GUY-“Hello fans and welcome to another big edition of Maple Leaf Wrestling! We’ve got another great show lined up for you today. In action will be the tag team of Bobby Duncum and Barry Orton and in our featured match Canadian Heavyweight Champion Angelo Mosca attempts to fend off the challenge of the colossal 400 pound One Man Gang! Mr. Mosca is also going to be joining us here today in the studios along with the team that will be challenging for the WCFL Tag Team Championship this Monday in Buffalo, The Rougeaus.”
GUY-“Ladies and gentlemen, at this time I would like to introduce Maple Leaf Wrestling promoter Psychosem, who has some exciting news concerning Maple Leaf Wrestling.”
-The camera cuts to a long shot of both Guy and Psychosem behind the desk…
PSYCHO-“Thanks Guy, I certainly do! I have some great news on a couple of fronts. Firstly, I would like to give a follow up on a situation that came up a couple of weeks back concerning a few of the WCFL territories. The previously vacated positions that had arose in Hawaii, Georgia and St. Louis have now been filled. As head of the Toronto office, I would like to personally welcome each and every one of these new promoters on board and wish them the best of luck in their new positions.”
GUY-“Wow, that certainly is good to hear! It’s good to see the WCFL running on all its cylinders once again!”
PSYCHO-“Yes it is, Guy! Also I have a major, and I mean MAJOR, announcement concerning Toronto wrestling. On Monday night, November 19th, 1981 Maple Leaf Wrestling will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of wrestling at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens! That night’s card will be held 50 years to the day of the first wrestling card in the Gardens. It is to be a celebration of both Toronto wrestling and also a tribute to the one man who has been here since day one, Maple Leaf Wrestling President Frank Tunney.”
GUY-“This is tremendous news coming from our promoter fans. I’m sure this is a night that you won’t want to miss!”
PSYCHO-“It certainly isn’t, Guy! At this time, I’m proud to announce that both the WCFL World Heavyweight and the WCFL World Tag Team Championships are scheduled to be defending their titles on that very night in Toronto! We are also currently negotiating with many other top stars as well as some of the names from Toronto’s past to compete on this truly historic event!
GUY-“Sounds great! Please let me know of any future developments so that I can pass them along to the fans.”
PSYCHO-“I certainly will, Guy.”
GUY-“Remember fans that’s coming up on November 19th in Toronto. Maple Leaf Wrestling celebrates 50 years in the Gardens, be sure to make plans to be there. Fans, we will return after these messages.”

GENE-“Yeah! Rougeaus, we know that you come from a famous wrestling family, but just look at you two. Why you two can’t weight more than 200 pounds a piece, I would hardly call that a challenge for the toughest tag team alive!”
OLE-“Rougeaus! We know what you’ve been waiting all of your lives for. These! (motions to the tag team title belts…) Well if you want them, it’s real simple. Just come and try to take them from us! PRE TAPED INTERVIEW: THE GRAND WIZARD

Now common sense dictates that in order to be a success that you have to start at the bottom of the heap and work your way up the ladder. I say bah! It’s that simple-minded way of thinking that has ruined society as we know it! I say start at the top and that just what I’ve done! The Sheik has been tending to some business for me as of late, but he will be returning very soon and in a very big way! A VERY BIG way! For the Sheik, just like me, believes in starting at the top. That is why Andre the Giant, we are starting with you! Andre, you have felt the Sheik’s wrath before and in Buffalo, New York on the 17th you will feel it again, and that’s not a fact…it’s a promise!”

-The program returns from commercial with Guy behind the desk…
GUY-“Fans, last week I promised you that I would try and get in touch with Terry Taylor and get a response from him about the comments that Ric Flair made here last week on the program. As you fans may recall, Mr. Flair showed up at ringside during one of Taylor’s recent matches and has since then offered to give him a few pointers. Terry, judging from some of your recent outings it couldn’t hurt.”
-The camera cuts to a long shot showing both Guy and Taylor…
TAYLOR-“Yeah your right, Guy! It couldn’t hurt. I’m in there with a tough customer in Adrian Street.”
GUY-“Terry, you’ve faired quite well against Street in your recent outings with him but you are yet to come away with a win over him. In fact both times you two have met, it seems that you have had victory well at hand only to have it snatched from you. Let’s show the fans what I am talking about.”
-clips are shown of Taylor’s losses to Street in which Street used the ropes to get the win on both accounts…
TAYLOR-“It’s just so frustrating, Guy. To know that your that close to a break through only to be set back by someone who doesn’t follow the rules…”
-At this time there is a commotion on the set as Ric Flair makes his way on stage unannounced…
GUY-“Whoa! What a pleasant surprise! Ladies and gentlemen it appears as though we have an unscheduled guest in “Nature Boy” Ric Flair!”
FLAIR-(Shaking Guy’s hand…) “Guy, when I heard that you were going to have Terry on the show this week I figured that I would just come on out and talk to him myself. Hope that’s alright.”
GUY-“Oh certainly, go right ahead.”
FLAIR- (to Taylor…) “Hey kid.” (extends his hand to Taylor, they shake hands…)
TAYLOR-“Hi, Mr. Flair, it’s an honor that you would come all the way out here just to speak to me.”
FLAIR-“It’s nothing, really. Like I was telling Guy here last week, I think you’re a real talent here in the world of professional wrestling and I was really impressed by what I saw in your match with Wright the other night. I know you’ve been having a hard time with Street and I would love to give you some pointers. I don’t mean this as a slight to you in any way, I just want to see you succeed. If you’re too proud to listen to my advice, I will understand. I was young and headstrong once myself and because of it, it took me a lot longer to get where I was going.”
TAYLOR-“Oh no Mr. Flair, I appreciate it, I really do. I would do anything to get a victory over Street at this point. I really would. I just don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
FLAIR-“That’s great then. I see your open minded and willing to listen. That’s a start. You really want to know what it think, Kid?”
TAYLOR-“What’s that?”
FLAIR-“Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you. I just think you’ve had a little bad luck. No reason to get all down on yourself over it. Why all that’s going to do is hurt your performance in the ring even more. Street’s been around the block a time or two and really knows his way around the ring. He knows every dirty trick in the book and that’s the only reason that he’s came out on top when you two have met in the ring.”
TAYLOR-“Yeah so, that still doesn’t help me any…”
FLAIR-“See that’s where I come in, kid. Adrian Street may know every dirty trick in the book, but he’s not the dirtiest player in the game. That’s me. So who better to come to in order to combat him than me? I tell ya’ what let’s do. This coming Monday, why don’t I get a few guys together and me and you do a little wrestling demonstration for the fans of Buffalo. I can give you a few pointers on what to look out for when you’re in the ring with Street and also find out a little bit about that great amateur back ground that I have heard so much about.”
TAYLOR-“Your on! I’ll be there with bells on! (Taylor seems to have cheered up a bit…)
-Flair and Taylor leave together with Flair resting his arm on Taylor’s shoulder talking to him as they leave…
GUY-“My oh my fans! That certainly answers a lot of questions as it now appears that Ric Flair has taken young Terry Taylor under his wing. I guess the only way we will find out more about this demonstration that Flair mentioned will be to show up in Buffalo next Monday night the 17th!”
GUY-“Fans, at this time let’s go to action from Kitchner as Bobby Duncum and Barry Orton take on Kenny Jay and “Mean” Mike Miller.”
-The full match is shown with Orton pinning Miller after about 10 minutes of action with a superplex…after the bout Jay shoves Miller and tells him what a worthless partner he was.
GUY-“Certainly an impressive victory for the team of Duncum and Orton. That superplex that his older brother taught him is certainly one devastating maneuver. Ladies and gentlemen at this time joining me in the studios, “Mean” Mike Miller. Mike, we just saw the footage of what happened after your match last week. Would you like to address what happened between you and Kenny Jay?
MILLER-“I’m still not sure what happened, Guy. I was in there giving it my all and Jay just wasn’t there for me. I was trying to make the tag but Duncum and Miller kept cutting off the ring. I get pinned and when I recover enough to know what’s going on, Kenny is all up in my face telling me how worthless I am. I just don’t know man, but what I do know is that I’m not going to stand for it. Kenny, you got a problem with me? If you do then let’s settle it like men. You and me in the ring one on one in Buffalo next Monday night!”
GUY-“Look’s like “Mean” Mike Miller isn’t going to take being treated that way sitting down, a challenge to Kenny Jay for Monday night in Buffalo. Fans, I’ve never known Kenny Jay to back down from a challenge if Miller is looking for a fight I’m sure he will get one. We will be back with more Maple Leaf Wrestling after these messages from our sponsors.”
COMMERCIAL BREAK #2
GUY-“Fans, before we go on any further with our show I have a special announcement to make. Earlier this week, Leo Burke traveled to Vancouver to challenge for All-star Wrestling’s version of the Canadian Title. While Mr. Burke did not return to Canada with that title belt, he certainly did give All-star’s Champion Mark Lewin all that he could handle. In fact, Lewin had to rely on some help to walk away from the match victorious. It is my pleasure to announce at this time that Mr. Burke will be granted a return match for the title on the 24th in Toronto as you may have noticed during an earlier commercial break. Mr. Burke says that he feels that taking the challenge on his home promotion’s soil is the only way to ensure that he would get a fair shake at Lewin’s title. We wish Mr. Burke the best of luck in his return match.”
GUY-“Another tremendous talent that has been on the road quite a bit as of late is Andre the Giant.”
-A video montage is shown of Andre’s recent appearances in Mid-Atlantic, Vancouver and LA, where Ken Patera eliminated Andre from the annual LA Battle Royal…
GUY-“As you can see, Andre the Giant has been on the move quite a bit lately but good news for Buffalo fans! The Giant will be returning to Maple Leaf Wrestling on the 17th when he takes on none other than The Sheik. That one should be a real slugfest fans as both combatants have met many times in the past and have no love loss for one another. It has also come to my attention that due to the recent happenings in the LA Battle Royal, Andre has now challenged Ken Patera to prove to Andre the he is indeed “The World’s Strongest Man” by stepping into the ring with him in a one on one encounter in Toronto on the 24th. Fan’s we will keep you abreast of this situation as it continues to develop. We will be right back with Canadian Heavyweight Champion Angelo Mosca.”
COMMERCIAL BREAK #3
GUY-“Ok, we’re back now with more of Maple Leaf Wrestling. It’s now time for our featured match of the day, but before we get to that I would like to introduce my guest at this time Canadian Heavyweight Champion, Angelo “King Kong” Mosca!”
ANGELO-“Thank you, Guy. Once again it’s a real pleasure to be here. Oh, and thank you for acknowledging that I am indeed “King Kong” Mosca. I think I may have shut that slob Bundy up for a while.”
GUY-“ You certainly did take it to Bundy last week, Angelo, but I’m not sure that you are out of the woods just yet. You also had your hands full with Bobby Duncum, Barry Orton and another 400 pounder in The One Man Gang. Let’s take a look back at what happened last week. This is our featured match, Angelo Mosca vs. The One Man Gang for the Canadian Heavyweight Title!”
-clips are shown of Bundy refusing to pin Cocoa Samoa and repeatedly splashing him. Mosca hits the ring and then clotheslines Bundy to the floor. Mosca is attacked by Duncum and Orton and left laying in the ring as his opponent One Man Gang comes out for his match. Gang dominates Mosca but Mosca pulls a win out of nowhere by capitalizing on a mistake by Gang. Bundy and Mosca then have a stare down…
GUY-“See what I mean about it not being over between you and Bundy? It looks like he’s even madder than before!”
MOSCA-“I’m not concerned about Bundy at the moment. You and the fans at home saw what Orton and Duncum did to me. I’m getting sick and tired of them interfering in my matches. So I went to our President Frank Tunney and asked for a little favor. Duncum, Orton, you two think you are so great together? Well I tell you what I did. Mr. Tunney told me that you two had an open contract signed for a tag team match next Monday night in Buffalo. So I got myself a partner and signed on the dotted line and guess what fellas, you aren’t going to find out who my partner is until you two step into the ring with me on Monday night! I will tell you this though, Duncum, you’ve made a lot of enemies over the years and this guy was jumping at the bit to team with me when I told him who my opponents were going to be!
GUY-“Wow! What a bombshell! This Monday night in Buffalo, Angelo Mosca and a mystery partner that apparently has a past with Bobby Duncum will take on Duncum and Barry Orton in tag team action! Fans if you live in the Buffalo area you certainly will not want to miss this show! We will be right back, I’m still beside myself. I just can’t believe it!”
COMMERCIAL BREAK #4
GUY-“Alright fans, we are quickly running out of time here on the show, but I felt it was important to talk to these two gentlemen before their WCFL Tag Team Title challenge on Monday night. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Jacques and Raymond, the Rougeau Brothers!”
RAYMOND-“Thank you, Guy. It’s good to be here.”
JACQUES-“Yes, great to be here, Guy!”
GUY-“Now, Jacques, Raymond, you two certainly seem to be the talk of the town here in Maple Leaf Wrestling. You two have really taken it to the Valiants so far during your tenure here. Your wins have to be considered an upset as you two clearly don’t match up to Johnny and Jerry in the experience department.”
JACQUES-“That is true, Guy, but what we lack in the experience department we more than make up for in enthusiasm!”
RAYMOND-“Yes, and also since our father was also a professional wrestler we were born into this sport. We’ve been around wrestling for all or our lives. We were born into it, so even though we are young, we are also very experienced in the ring.”
GUY-“Any thoughts about you upcoming title match?”
RAYMOND-“We want nothing more than to become the WCFL World Tag Team champions and to do our father and fellow Canadians proud!”
JACQUES-“This is the one goal that each and every tag team works for all of their careers. We are very fortunate to be in this position at a very young age. We cannot take it for granted though. There is still a chance that this could be our only shot at those belts so we have got to make the most of it. “
GUY-“Ok, well thank you for joining us Rougeaus. I wish you all the best in your attempt to become WCFL Tag Team Champions in Buffalo next Monday night.”
JACQUES & RAYMOND-“Thank you, Guy.”
GUY-“Fans, we’re out of time this week, tune in next week for more Maple Leaf Wrestling when we will hopefully find out if Harley Race will accept Ric Flair’s challenge for a match in Toronto on the 24th. Plus there are bound to be more announcements about the big 50th Anniversary show. Until then, this is Guy Schilling saying see you at ringside!”
