Biography

He is the Grim Reaper; the Phenom of the World Wrestling Federation. Standing at near 7' and weighing in excess of 300 pounds, The Undertaker is a long-time dominant force in the WWF. The Undertaker began his wrestling career in the late 1980s in the now-defunct United States Wrestling Association (USWA). Originally known as the Master of Pain (other identities in the promotion would include Texas Red and The Masked Punisher), he defeated Jerry "The King" Lawler to win the USWA unified world championship. Mark turned the head of many promoters due to his ability to combine his overwhelming size with incredible agility. In 1989, this talents were noticed by the National Wrestling Alliance (later renamed World Championship Wrestling), and he began work with the company under the moniker of "Mean" Mark Callous. His stint with the NWA/WCW was mediocre at best, as Mark was never allowed to truly showcase his abilities. He left the promotion in 1990, and would forever change his life by signing with the WWF. At the 1990 Survivor Series, The Undertaker debuted as the mystery partner of "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. He was an instant sensation, dominating the opposition, and just one year after his debut, he defeated Hulk Hogan for his first WWF championship. He later became one of the most popular stars in WWF history, dubbing his fans the "creatures of the night". Over the years, The Undertaker's character has evolved with the times, resulting in not only a physical transformation but an inner one as well. One thing that hasn't changed however, is his level of success. As incoming wrestlers seem to get bigger, stronger and hungrier, the Undertaker becomes more competitive. He has held both the WWF world and tag team titles on several occasions, and with manager Paul Bearer by his side, The Man from the Darkside looks to leave a path of despair and destruction behind him.
