SuperStar Corner

May 28, 2003

HERE IT IS GUYS, AFTER A 3 AND A HALF MONTH HIATUS, THE SUPERSTAR CORNER HAS RISEN FROM THE ASHES! I HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYS THIS EDITION. ALSO, I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY IDEAS FOR FUTURE EDITIONS OF THE CORNER BE LEFT IN THE GUESTBOOK.

WE START TONIGHT WITH A NEW EDITION TO THE CORNER KNOWN AS THE HOT SEAT. THE FIRST GUEST ON THE HOT SEAT IS NONE OTHER THAN TRAVIS WAKEMAN.

The shot opens inside a low lit room with the oval tron set up as the camera zooms in on Jonathan Coachman.

Coach: "Hello everyone, I'm the Coach and this is the newest segment for the TWF where we will spend ten minutes with a TWF superstar who will land him or herself directly in the hot spot. The first to be part in this is an all time great on PrimeTime and in the TWF and I am refering to Travis Wakeman. Welcome to the hot spot".

Travis Wakeman: "What's up"?

Coach: "Now we'll get into our first segment, a video questionaire of sorts from your fellow TWF superstars, right here on the ovaltron".

wakeman: "Okay".

(the oval tron feed begins as Dylan Jansens appears)

Dylan Jansens: "What is the next goal for you to strive for in the TWF"?

Wakeman: "To show my peers that I am the best in this industry".

(Nemesis is shown)

Nemesis: "Brock Lesnar, good wrestler or just one hair short of a gorilla"?

Wakeman: "Tremendous athlete, great wrestler".

( Alex Miran is shown)

Alex Miran: "What's kept you in the business for so long? What is your motivation to get up and preform"?

Wakeman: "I haven't done everything I know I can do and until I do that, I will compete full time".

(lastly Jordan Rockwell is shown)

Jordan Rockwell: "What's up T? You know I gotta ask the deep probing Barbara Walters type stuff, so my question is, exactly what is the history between you and Crystal Carmichael"?

Wakeman: "Yeah you would have to ask that question but the truth is, I met her when I was in Turkey for TWF Outbreak and one thing led to another. She'd tell you a lot more happened but Trish already knows the story and that's that".

Coach: "Okay Travis, now we move to segment number two in which I ask you five toss up questions".

Wakeman: "Cool".

Coach: "Trish Stratus or Jessica Lopez"?

Wakeman: "Trish".

Coach: "Favorite stable Wakeman Inc or Enterprises"?

Wakeman: "Enterprise, the other's a damn joke".

Coach: Jordan Rockwell or The Rock"?

Wakeman: Rockwell, hands down".

Coach: "Better boss Shane McMahon or Vince McMahon"?

Wakeman: "Vince, for the experience factor".

Coach: "Tougher opponent Stone Cold Steve Austin or Triple H".

Wakeman: "That's a tough one but I'd have to say the game, he took me to my physical limit".

Coach: "Okay, this is our last segment and it will be true or false questions".

Wakeman: "Alright".

Coach: "True or false, you have had no contact with your brother since he's been in the GWF"?

Wakeman: "True".

Coach: "True or false, you fathered one or both of Jessica Lopez' kids"?

Wakeman: "True".

Coach: "True or false, you teamed with Brock Lesnar so you wouldn't have to face him in the ring"?

Wakeman: "Ah man, that's false".

Coach: "True or false, you believed Jordan Rockwell did assault Trish"?

Wakeman: "False, I never believed he had anything to do with it".

Coach: "True or false, you have been in discussion with Rockwell about forming a tag team"?

Wakeman: (laughs) "That would be true ".

THE LIGHTS COME ON.

Coach: "Travis Wakeman we're done, you are now out of the hot spot".

Wakeman: "Good".

FOR OUR NEXT SEGMENT, WE HAVE SET UP SOME FANTASY MATCHES AND HAVE GOTTEN SOME OPINIONS OF TWF SUPERSTARS ON WHAT THEY THINK WOULD HAPPEN.

Crazy Shane on:

Nemesis vs Sting: I have not seen Nemesis do shit so far. And he keeps losing to no name guys. Sting on the other hand has accomplished so much more.

pick : Sting would get my pick, any day of the week.

Travis Wakeman vs. Bret "Hitman" Hart : The Technical Magician vs The Hitman. I recall Bret having a short, and VERY unsuccesful stint in the TWF. Travis Wakeman is like me, multi-dimensional.

pick: And I dare say it, Bret couldn't even beat Wakeman while in his prime, on Wakeman's worst day!

Jordan Rockwell vs. The Undertaker: Unlike the other two matches, this one can possibly happen! Unfortunately, these two men are on different shows. But Rockewell wouldn't stand a chance! The Undertaker poseses far more killer instinct.

pick: I will say Taker, but he'd litterally have to kill Rockwell to beat him.

Nemesis on:

Travis Wakeman vs. Bret "Hitman" Hart: Damn that's a good match with two of the greatest of all time one on one.

pick : But in my opinion in the end I'd say Bret Hart, the Sharpshooter is just one of the best.

Jordan Rockwell vs. The Undertaker: The ring is taker's yard and he'd pull out all the stops for the win.

pick: The Undertaker

Sting and thoughts on facing him: Let's analyze this. We have Sting. Trenchcoat, bat and face paint the spitting image of myself, a mirror match if you want to call it that. Well bottomline, in the end there will be one man left standing and that one man will be Nemesis.

Jordan Rockwell on:

Travis Wakeman vs. Bret "hitman" Hart: I have had the chance to meet Bret Hart while he was here in the TWF and he had a real passion for the business and I know Travis well, he is a lot like Hart in several ways, they both have the passion for the business and their in ring style is so similar so this would be a real classic match from start to finish.

pick: I have to go with Wakeman simply because he has perfected the art of technical wrestling and has really transformed himself making the business and the style part of who he is.

Nemesis vs Sting: While I have grown up watching Sting and know Nemesis, I have to say this is like a battle of twins, these two have so much in common from their looks to their semi-same finding of god. But I think the one diffrence is that Nemesis is a bit more volitale while Sting is a bit more laid back.

pick: In this one I have to pick Sting because he'd use his laid back style to cause Nemesis to make a mistake and then that's where the stinger would capitalize and score the win.

The Undertaker and thoughts on facing him: The Undertaker is the guy I look up to from my days before the TWF till now as a wrestler. He has the type of stature in the locker room and the acheivements in the business, in a nutshell, the type of career every young talent wants. If I were to go one on one with him, I'd have to employ a very hard and strict strategy which simply would be using my strengths to battle and capitalize on his weakness, and above all else as hard as it might seem and as difficult as it very well would be, I'd have to out smart him and make him make mistakes that I'd have to use in my advantage and above all else go in their as a wrestler and not a fan.

mFw SPOTLIGHT

TONIGHT WE GIVE A LITTLE INFO ON ONE OF THE TOP SUPERSTARS IN THE mFw, MASAHIRO SASAKI.

TWF TURN BACK THE CLOCK

TONIGHT WE FILL YOU ALL IN ON ANOTHER PPV EVENT FROM BEFORE THE TWF CAME ONLINE. THE CLOCK WINDS BACK TO APRIL OF 2000 FOR TWF WHIPLASH.

TWF WHIPLASH FEATURED THE CULMINATION OF A 32 MAN TOURNAMENT FOR THE TWF TITLE.

FOR WEEKS, RAW AND PRIMETIME FEATURED SOME GREAT TOURNAMENT ACTION BUT IT CAME DOWN TO 4 MEN: TRAVIS WAKEMAN, THE BIG BOSS MAN, BILLY GUNN AND THE UNDERTAKER.

THE BOSS MAN WAS ON AN IMPRESSIVE STREAK, DEFEATING THE LIKES OF RAZOR RAMON, SGT. SLAUGHTER AND DIESEL. HE RAN INTO WAKEMAN WHO HAD WINS OVER THE GODFATHER, KANE AND SHAWN MICHAELS WHO SURVIVED A TOUGH MATCH WITH OF ALL PEOPLE, CRASH. WAKEMAN TOOK IT TO THE BOSS MAN BUT AFTER GETTING A NIGHTSTICK TO THE THROAT, HE FELL VICTIM TO THE BOSS MAN SLAM AS THE BOSS MAN ADVANCED TO THE FINALS.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BRACKET FEATURED THE UNDERTAKER WHO HAD WINS OVER KURT ANGLE AND BULL BUCHANAN BEFORE SURVIVING A RUN IN WITH THE BIG SHOW. BILLY GUNN HAD PILED UP IMPRESSIVE WINS OVER HIS FORMER TAG TEAM PARTNER ROAD DOGG, CHRIS BENOIT AND DEAN MALENKO, WHO WRESTLED IN THE MATCH OF 2000 WITH D'LO BROWN IN THE FIRST ROUND. BUT IN THE SEMIS, GUNN RAN INTO A DETERMINED DEADMAN WHO PUT HIM AWAY WITH THE TOMBSTONE.

IN THE FINALS, THE UNDERTAKER AND BOSS MAN HAD ONE OF THE HARDEST HITTING BATTLES IN RECENT MEMORY BUT AFTER MISSING A SPLASH OFF THE TOP ROPE, BOSS MAN WALKED INTO THE CHOKESLAM FROM HELL AND WAS PINNED AS THE UNDERTAKER BECAME THE NEW TWF CHAMP.

IN ADDITION TO THIS GREAT TOURNAMENT, "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN DEFEATED SGT. SLAUGHTER IN A BOOT CAMP MATCH, CHRIS BENOIT WON TED DIBIASE's $10,000 DOLLAR CHALLENGE BY DEFEATING KING MABEL AND JESSICA LOPEZ' 9 AND A HALF MONTH REIGN AS WOMEN's CHAMP STARTED WHEN SHE BEAT LITA. THE EVENT ALSO HAD A UNIQUE INVITATIONAL BATTLE ROYALE THAT HAD 20 MEN. ALONG WITH 17 TWF SUPERSTARS, ERIC "BUTTERBEAN" ESCH WAS IN THE MATCH ALONG WITH RHYNO AND SABU, THEN ECW SUPERSTARS. AFTER A WILD FRACAS, THE ROAD DOGG WON THIS BATTLE ROYALE SHOWING THAT TWF WHIPLASH TRULY HAD IT ALL.

FINALLY, WE END THE NIGHT WITH THE DEBUT OF A BRAND NEW COLUMN, DONE BY MIKE DUFFY WHO PLAYS HIGH OCTANE. HIS COLUMN IS CALLED MIKE DUFFY UNCUT.... ENJOY.

Welcome to the first edition of Mike Duffy Uncut. Once a week I’ll be looking at different aspects of the TwF. This week I’ll be looking at the Raw Brand. Now, I do feel that Raw is not as good a wrestling show as Primetime, though I feel it is more entertaining. Here’s the top 5 things Raw needs to change:

1. Lose Civil Rights. They are getting old, and their constant presence in the Main Event is becoming old.

2. Stop creating tag teams with random TwF superstars. If a tag team division is even necessary then bring in some teams. Otherwise trade the few real teams on RAW to Primetime so they can be in a real Tag Division.

3. Start pushing the younger guys. Guys like Nails, High Octane, Chris Nowinski and Nemesis have recently been pushed, but are still not above guys like Undertaker, HBK and HHH. HBK, Taker and Trips are great, but it’s time for them to give up some of the spot light.

4. Put Strife and Bahamut back together. They have both had AMAZING success as singles competitors, but I don’t get the same feeling when they are not together. They were the best tag team ever. It just doesn’t seem right to have them as singles guys anymore.

5. Stop giving title shots to low contenders. Chris Nowitzki is a great competitor, but he was not #1 contender and didn’t deserve a shot at Strife. Now, A-Train?! He is classified on the Raw page as a mid-carder, not even second class.

________________________________________________________________________ Of course Raw does have strong points. Some of which are as follows: 1. The Toughman division. There’s something about watching guys like Nails and Spawn beat the living hell out of each other that just makes me want to keep watching.

2. Great Angles. The High Octane-Bahamut feud was awesome, as was the Hogan/Austin angle. Even smaller angles like Matt Taylor stealing Pyromania’s girl friend are entertaining.

3. The Women’s division. All I can say on this one is WOW. Akasha is great, as are Jazz, Victoria and Lita. Alex Miran is awesome, she amazes me already.

4. Vets. If all of the vets on Raw (like HHH, Taker, HBK, Austin and Hogan) would help all of the younger stars develop, then Raw could be a better wrestling program in the long run.

5. Dedication. The guys in the Raw locker room are extremely dedicated to the TwF. They all breathe, eat and sleep TwF.
