Power 25

July 28, 2007

1. TWF Champion: Chris Masters - Masters teamed with Mark Henry and took out both Rob Van Dam and The Rock. Masters got a few near falls on The Rock, and then left RVD unconcious via The Masterlock. All this hype for the people in the ballot to face Chris Masters for the TWF Championship at Anarchy Rulz is great, but Chris Masters proved that he deserves this title, whether he won it in a screwjob or not. And P.S... If you want to argue Masters being number one, ask Travis Wakeman, Rob Van Dam, and The Rock their opinion after the past few weeks. Last week: #5 - Up 4 Spots

2. Universal Champion: John Cena - The Champ is Here! He had his back against the wall with Lashley and Corey coming at him, and he didn't back down at all. Instead, he showed that he has some pretty big balls... I don't know that for a fact... And told them to face off against each other and the winner can gladly get a shot at his title. And then what happened? Well, ntohing. Corey beat up Lashley backstage, and Cena still has no Number One Contender. But, Cena is still holding the title Corey is going after so he's a higher rank. Last week: #3 - Up 1 Spot

3. ECW World Champion: Joe Corey - Corey gets props for taking Lashley out backstage, but he has to feel like a dumb ass after Shane McMahon announced that things would work themselves out and we'd find out who the Number One Contender is. AKA... It didn't end up Joe Corey that night! Sure it could be, but honestly, given a weeks rest, I think Lashley will come back... And I'd hate to be Corey when an angry Lashley is on my ass. Actually, I'd hate to be anyone with someone on my ass. Anyways, Corey is up one spot for being ECW World Champion and he kicked Lashley's ass none the less. Last week: #4 - Up 1 Spot

4. Mark Henry - He got a big win on Rampage when he teamed with the TWF Champion to beat Rob Van Dam and The Rock, two people on the ballot to face Chris Masters at Anarchy Rulz. But, don't forget that Mark Henry is on that ballot as well... And beating The Rock and RVD with The Boogeyman losing as well, Mark Henry seems to have the credentials to be #1 Contender. Only one problem... There's still that guy Hulk Hogan, not that he'll get any votes or anything... Last week: #8 - Up 4 Spots

5. Intercontinental Champion: CM Punk - Punk had no match, and had an akward segment where Ariel creeped out the world... But he's still Intercontinental Champion and showed he's not afraid to take on anyone and defend his title like a fighting champion. Plus, he was #1 last week, he can't drop down that far. Last week: #1 - Down 4 Spots

6. Lightheavyweight Champion: Carney - Two weeks back, two wins. In his return to the ring, Carney won the Lightheavyweight Title by beating Daivari. This week, another thing returned... Team Xtreme. Although it was a one time thing, Carney and The Hardy Boyz got the win over Daivari, Gregory Helms, and Bill Cutting, three of the top contenders for Carney's Lightheavyweight Championship. The sky is the limit for the veteran Lightheavyweight. Last week: #7 - Up 1 Spot

7. Bobby Lashley - Lashley had a Number One Contenders Match on Primetime last week, but Joe Corey attacked him and it never got to happen. He only drops one spot because he didn't lose the match, and he is probably gonna sky rocket this week once he gets his hands on the ECW World Champion. Also, Carney was the guy behind him so that's just maybe a good reason to go down a spot when you don't win. Last week: #6 - Down 1 Spot

8. The Rock - Rocky and his teammate RVD couldn't get it done last week against the TWF Champ and The World's Strongest Man. But, RVD was the one who tapped, so Rock doesn't fall past #8. Rock is still on the ballot at Anarchy Rulz, though, and is a fan favorite, which is an advantage to win it, even after Henry dominated the both of em'. This week RVD and Rocky team up again to take on ECW's Elijah Burke and Sylvester Terkay, and Masters will have a close eye on that one. Last week: #2 - Down 6 Spots

9. Money Mike - Impressive win by Mike, but not enough to get him up any spots because he nearly lost to someone who shouldn't have been any fight at all. But, he did send a message to Pyromania and Made! And, he did have an intense showdown with Taz! But... He's not on the World Title Ballot or in the World Title Hunt or holding a title... So, that's why he's not moving past the people who are. Last week: #9 - No Change

10. TWF Tag Team Champions: The Blood Brothers - Both Shawn Michaels and Jordan Rockwell, and Rated RKO are two possible contenders for the TWF Tag Team Titles that O'Haire and Kash hold, but don't think that the champs won't be able to beat them. They've held these titles since Wrestlemania for a reason. Don't believe me? Ask Jordan Rockwell, who got laid out by the two and thrown into a closet... R. Kelly can sing to you now, because you really were "Trapped in the Closet" Rockwell. Last week: #13 - Up 3 Spots-

11. Rated RKO - Sure they got hit with a shaft... Not like that you sickos... But, they got the win which is what really matters. And this is not like Lenny Armstead, this is different. They are actually in the Title Picture, and beating a top team is something big right now. But, they aren't on the same page exactly so they aren't moving anywhere. Last week: #11 - No Change

12. Rampage Tag Team Champions: World's Greatest Tag Team - The Rampage Tag Team Champions picked up the win in the 6 man tag team match when Chris Tirpak pinned Trevor Murdoch. Sure, they didn't directly win the match, but they are Tag Team Champions, and they did technically avenge Haas' loss to Murdoch last week. This week, they'll be keeping their eye on the Triple Threat Match between Johnny Nitro, Lance Cade, and Max Ogden... Three men who make up half of three top contenders for the Rampage Tag Titles. Last week: #15 - Up 3 Spots

13. Jordan Rockwell/Shawn Michaels - Sure, they ran off the Tag Team Champions and hit Rated RKO with their shafts... But they lost. And Rockwell, he got thrown into a closet by Kash and O'Haire earlier anyway! If they win, they'll be back up, but they lost which is kinda a big deal in the TWF Tag Team Championships hunt. Last week: #10 - Down 3 Spots

14. Ken Kennedy -The number #1 Contender for the King of Cable championship looked more like the actual King of Cable on Rampage. JJ may be champion, but Kennedy not only ran him off, but The Green Bay Gladiator also hoisted the King of Cable title over his head while JJ was stuck at retreating up the ramp. Will that image occur again at Anarchy Rulz in either a Steel Cage Match, Ladder Match, or Falls Count Anywhere Match? Kennedy definately can build up more momentum when he and Chris Tirpak face JJ Ramplin and Tatanka on Rampage this week. Last week: #19 - Up 5 Spots

15. King of Cable: JJ Ramplin - He may have looked like a little bitch on Rampage, but Kennedy can hoist and hold the King of Cable title all he wants... Ramplin is actually champ. But, he may not be past Anarchy Rulz, because he lost by DQ to Lenny Armstead, someone who, no disrespet, is not on Ken Kennedy's level. Sure, Ramplin got himself disqualified by not breaking the count blah, blah, blah... But, a loss is a loss. And if he loses again, it may cost him his King of Cable belt... But this one doesn't cost him his spot at 15. This week, he is behind Kennedy in the P25, but can get over him again if he and Tatanka can beat Kennedy and Chris Tirpak. Last week: #15 - No Change

16. Austin Pyromania and Taylor Made - Sure it was an Uprising match, and sure it was against two invitees, but those invitees were two former GSE superstars. They proved a point and although Money Mike is confident, Pyromania and Made don't seem like they'll be backing down any time soon. With all that being said, they don't move anywhere since it was a Uprising match. Last week: #16 - No Change

17. Finlay - Once again, the Fighting Irishman beat the former 3-Time World Champion. But, he only moves up three because last week he did get laid out and owned with some Lucky Charms to compliment him! Last week: #20 - Up 3 Spots

18. Snitsky - I couldn't tell if Snitsky was scared or if he was playing mind games with Taz... Either way, he's got Taz on his hands, and not every week may be like two weeks ago when he beat Taz on Rampage. He drops a lot, but that's only because he was so far up in the first place. Last week: #12 - Down 6 Spots

19. Chris Platoon - After being on the border last week, Platoon broke through by proving he can beat The Major Brothers in the ring too. Platoon beat Brian Major... No, no... Platoon DOMINATED Brian Major. Who knows, maybe Brett can do better this week against Platoon? Or maybe he'll just, uh... Yell to his brother before he gets the Last Chance? Last week: #2 On the Border

20. Umaga - He got called out by Gabriel Cross, and some could say he got punked out. But if anyone got punked, it was Armando Alejandro Estrada. Umaga was ready to tear Cross apart who said strength is in controlling yourself basically, but uh... I don't think Umaga really gives a damn about that stuff, he just wants to kick someones ass.Last week: #18 - Down 2 Spots

21. Jillian Hall - She's like butter... She's on a roll! Last week, she beat Women's Champion Ashley K in a non-title match. This week, she beat former Women's Champion Mickie James by taking a page out of her book. If you ask me, Ashley K's confidence is all fine and dandy... But Jillian Hall doesn't even have the title and she's higher than Ashley on the Power 25. Even though Ashley's ranking is... Oh, snap... She's not on it. Well, Hall could win the title this week by beating Mickie and Ashley in a Triple Threat Match. Last week: #25 - Up 4 Spots

22. Rene Dupree w/ Dawn Marie - He has been on a roll as of late. Last week he beat Ric Flair via DQ, and this week he got a win on Uprising. Good enough for us. Last week: NR

23. Hardy Boyz: - Team Xtreme reunited for one night only on Primetime, and they shined together. The Hardyz recovered from last week's loss against Rated RKO, and got back to their winning ways. But, can they win without Carney on their team? Last week: NR

24. Chris Tirpak - He teamed with World's Greatest Tag Team to take on Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, and his rival, Tatanka. He got the pin over Murdoch, and now this week he's got another big match. In tag team action, he will team with Ken Kennedy to take on King of Cable JJ Ramplin and Tatanka. A win in this match would be huge for his career, especially if he were to pin Ramplin. Last week: NR (Not Ranked)

25. Eye Spy: - After being On the Border last week because they couldn't solve Boogey, they finally were able to solve their Boogeyman problem, I think. Which is why they're still here. After Ogden changed his name, and Shelley cracked a tripod over Boogeyman's head... They finally did it, though! But, Boogey was smiling after... Ogden can get Eye Spy into a higher spot on the Power 25 by winning the Triple Threat Match against Lance Cade and Johnny Nitro this week. Last week: #5 On The Border

Honorable Mention:

1. Gabriel Cross - Last week, he won on Uprising, but this week he couldn't get it done against Ken Doane. Even after the loss however, he got in Umaga's face and challenged him, not backing down from the monster. But, if he can't beat Ken Doane, can he beat Umaga? Last week: NR

2. Eddie Saint James: - He nearly knocked Johnny Hazard's head off at Payback, and this week nearly knocked Super Crazy's off with a Steel Chair. I think we all wanna see what will happen with Hazard and James, now... Last week: NR

Farewell To...

1. The Boogeyman - Eye Spy finally got the best of him, but he was smiling afterward. He is on the World Title Ballot though, maybe that'll get him back on next week. Last week: #17

2. Ric Flair -He wasn't even seen this week, but he is still Natch! Maybe next week he'll get back in there. Last week: #21

3. Matt Cruz - Cruz questioned the truth to Oliver's "travel problems," but that is most definately not enough to stay on the P25 considering the rank he had, and the success of many superstars this week. Last week: #22

4. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch - They lost to the World's Greatest Tag Team and Chris Tirpak in 6 Man Tag action, and at 23 originally, and superstars on the border winning matches, they're off. A win by Cade in the Triple Threat can get them back in the Power 25. Last week: #23

5. London and Kendrick - They got a win on Uprising two weeks ago, but that was on Uprising, and this week Kendrick lost to PJ Cash when they were on the real thing, Primetime. A win for them in either singles or Tag action will shoot them right back onto the P25 if it means enough.Last week: #24

On the Border

5. Taz - Showed guts going face to face with Snitsky, but guts could be the opposite of what Taz needs for calling out Snitsky like that... Brains.

4. Kenny Doane - Recovered from his ass beating by CM Punk and beat Gabriel Cross. This guy's young and very athletic,

3. Kevin Thorn - Last week he got completely owned by Bobby Lashley, but this week on Uprising he and Gangrel got a big win over The Highlanders. Ariel promised CM Punk that Thorn would earn a Intercontinental Title shot by winning the Fatal Four Way next week, can that promise come through? If it does, he's a shoe-in for the P25.

2. PJ Cash - Got a huge win this week by beating Brian Kendrick with a very impressive Cash Register. Will he be the next Ric Flair like he claims though? He could be... If he actually beats Flair.

1. Mankind - Mankind... I think it was Mankind, maybe Cactus Jack... Or Dude Love... Well, Mick Foley kicked Aldo Corleone AND Rob Storm's ass... And Rob Storm sucked on Mick's anus sock. Excuse me, MISTER Anus Sock: Mr. Socko. Can Foley get the win over Storm in singles action is the question this week.

Slaughterhouse/Badlandz Power 10

1. Christian "The King" Cole - Same reason as last week... He's dominated all of Slaughterhouse. But, after all the titles on Slaughterhouse were vacated, can "The King" beat Outcast to re-gain the Undisputed Championship he never was beaten for? Last week: #1 - No Change

2. Outcast - He could definately be the number one spot, but Cole technically is still the uncrowned champion. Last week: NR

3. Kane - Up one spot from last week, he continued his winning ways by absolutely dominating Booker T en route to a spot in the semi-finals of the Badlandz World Title Tournament. Last week: #4 - Up 1 Spot

4. Devon Cage - Won the TWF X-Division Championship, but all Slaughterhouse titles were vacated and now has to win it all over again. Last week: #3 - Down 1 Spot

5. Christian - After being Universal Champion on Primetime, Christian has earned a spot in the North American Title Match against another former Primetime superstar, Dylan Jansens..

Last week: NR

6. Jesse Steele- Showed that not only is he a good General Manager, but he can wrestle as well when he kicked Bret Savage's ass. Can he beat Jerry "The King" Lawler, though? That's a different story. Last week: NR

7. Bull Buchanon - So far he's beaten Chris Jericho, and now Scott Steiner en-route to the semi-finals of the Badlandz World Title Tournament. Can he beat Kane in the next round? I don't know, but his counterpart, Booker T, had very minimal success after they put Kane through a buffet table. Last week: NR

8. The Dudley Boyz - They drop a few spots for not having a match last week, but if they can defend their titles against their mystery opponents this week on Badlandz, they'll be right back up there. Last week: #5 - Down 3 Spots

9. Chuck Palumbo - He's proven he can get it done in the ring. Not only did he win his opening round match against Billy Gunn, a very accomplished superstar, but he beat a former two-time TWF World Champion in Val Venis last week. AJ Styles better watch out. Last week: NR

10. AJ Styles - Beat Marcus Cor Von in 1 minute and 34 seconds. Now, he's facing Chuck Palumbo in a match which the winner wrestles at Apocalypse Now! for the Badlandz World Title.

Last week: NR
