COVER STORY THIS WEEK, JOHNATHAN COACHMAN AND IDALIS INTERVIEW THE MEN WHO WILL BATTLE IT OUT IN THE STAIRWAY TO DOOM FOR THE TWF TITLE, TRIPLE H AND JORDAN ROCKWELL. COACHMAN WITH THE GAME JOHNATHAN COACHMAN AND TRIPLE H ARE WALKING DOWN A BUSY STREET JUST BEFORE SATURDAY NIGHT's MAIN EVENT THROUGH THE COLD OCTOBER AIR. Johnathan Coachman: "First off Triple H, I wanna say thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with us". Triple H: "Yeah, yeah, let's just get it going". Coachman: "Well, first off, people wanna get your take on the Stairway to Doom match for the TWF Title. Do you feel Stephanie wants to put you in a brutal match such as this one as payback"? Triple H: "To be honest Coach, I hope she did. So that I can go out there and prove what I've proven time and time again and that is that I'm the Game and when it comes to matches like this, no one out performs me". Coachman: "Well if you recall MeltDown, it was the current TWF champion Jordan Rockwell who got the three count on you to take that title". Triple H: "You're damn right I recall MeltDown and you're right. he beat me. But it took him forty three minutes to do it and I can promise ya Coach, this match will be three times as hard fought as that one was". Coachman: "What about Stephanie's decision on a Coal Miner's Glove match for the third fall. It is being rumored that that is her choice". Triple H: (snickering) "Do you think I'd have a problem with that? A Coal Miner's Glove match is right down my alley, too bad the fans won't get to see it because you see Coach, a third fall won't even be necessary". Coachman: "Well that brings up a good question. Rockwell selected a submissions only match for the second fall. Now this is clearly not your style, how do you plan on taking that fall"? Triple H: "It may not be my style but they don't call me the Cerebral Assassin for nothin' Coach. I am as good a technician as there ever was and just cause it's not part of my regular offense, I know several submission moves that would make Rockwell wanna tap out". Coachman: "Finally, there's been a lot of criticism from fans and the internet that you don't really deserve this rematch. How do you answer that claim"? Triple H: "Well let's see, last time I checked, the TWF champion always gets a rematch. Well I was never given one after MeltDown and since then, I've beaten Strife and the immortal one himself, Hulk Hogan. Not to mention kicked everyone else's ass who's gotten in my way so to the fans and the jackasses on the internet, I say screw you. This interview is over Coach". Coachman: "There ya have it, the Game's take on DoomsDay". IDALIS SITS DOWN WITH TWF CHAMPION JORDAN ROCKWELL
Idalis: "I'm sitting here with the TWF world champion Jordan Rockwell who will be defending the title against Triple T at DoomsDay. Jordan, thanks for joining me here today".
Jordan Rockwell: "My pleasure".
Idalis: "First off Mr. Rockwell, do you believe Triple H deserves this rematch"?
Rockwell : "Absolutely, he's one of the best that there is in the business and I figured he'd come gunning for me, but I thought it woulda been quicker".
Idalis: "Why do you say that"?
Rockwell: "His ego and pride were bruised at MeltDown, he thought I wasn't gonna be a threat and was more concerned with Austin and he was given a rude awakening to just the opposite".
Idalis: "You defeated Triple H in that triple threat match at MeltDown after 43 minutes in the ring. What will it take to beat him at DoomsDay"?
Rockwell: "Everything I got! =Now he knows I'm the real deal and above all else like I said, he wants to get back his pride that I took when I beat him at MeltDown as I said due to the fact he took me lightly. So at DoomsDay I'm gonna be ready for hell and I'll be ready for a fight from bell to bell".
Idalis: "You have turned into one of the locker room leaders in the TWF and seem to be the new People's champ. Does that sit well with you"?
Rockwell: "Oh yeah, the fans have been real good to me over the past year and a half I've been in the TWF, they believed in this twenty five year old kid from Los Angeles and made me who I am so to stop and sign an autograph or take a picture is a pleasure for me. As far as the locker room leader goes, I learned a long time ago from guys like The Undertaker and Travis Wakeman that when you have guys bust their asses to help you along as a rookie, it's your obligation to pass the knowledge you get onto the next rookie that comes in as you grow into a veteran and for me I believed that and so to work with guys like Dylan Jansens or John Cena and help them along like I was is a pleasure".
Idalis: "Have you accomplished everything you wanted to in the TWF and if not, what's left"?
Rockwell: "Uhmm..... I'd love to get a shot at Tag Team gold somewhere down the road. Of course I gotta find some one that can hang with me and is tough enough to put up with my crap (laughing). And uhmm, I'd love to get a match with the Undertaker or Nails or Wakeman also, now people think I'm outta my mind or I been hit in the head to many times,(laughs) but for me, I think I've learned more from them and especially Nails then I have ever and I always hear sooner or later the student out does the teacher so other then that, I've done more then I ever thought I would when I wanted to get into wrestling".
Idalis: "Back to DoomsDay, is there any unwanted pressure on you to win this match"?
Rockwell : "Honestly yeah, but not from anyone in the TWF, it's more from myself and that's because at MeltDown, I beat Triple H after he fought with Austin in a triple threat match. I need to know if I can beat him one on one in a singles match by myself in this match and to show everyone in and out of the TWF that I am the real deal and I earned this". (pats the world title laying in his lap)
Idalis: "I know some of the fans are wondering this one. How will Scott Steiner fit into this match and could there have been anything worse than him aligning himself with Triple H"?
Rockwell: "Well first off, I have no idea how he will or won't fit into this match with Hunter at DoomsDay, I mean on one hand I know he wants to prove MeltDown was indeed a fluke but I also believe he doesn't wanna have a repeat of MeltDown and that Steiner is just a freaking anchor around my leg".
Idalis: "How"?
Rockwell: "He can't stand the fact that Lita dumped his punk ass and is now with me, a man who takes care of her and actually loves her, not some wanna be bad ass who just uses her and then moves onto the next one and goes to her when he wants to get some. See me, I'm loyal to the women I'm with and I treat them the way they should be, Steiner's jealous he can't have her and will never be able to take her away from me".
Idalis: "As for the second part of my question, could there have been anything worse than him aligning himself with Triple H"?
Rockwell: "Probably photo's of High Octane nude.(laughs) Seriously though, I think it is a double edged sword situation. On one hand, they are exactly the same with their huge ego and they make one hell of a dangerous pair because they are alike. On the other hand, you kinda want to just sit back and see who bites the other one in the ass first cause fact is they both can't be trusted, ask people they turned on, Stephanie McMahon learned first hand what Hunter was all about and that's himself and Victoria learned how self absorbed and narcisistic Scott Steiner is and how he can be".
idalis: "high octane nude"?
Rockwell: "Yeah, I've shared a locker room with him, trust me, it's not a real pretty looking or smelling site".
Idalis: "Is this the single most important match of your career"?
Rockwell: "I'd say it's up there, yeah, with the stipulations in this match it's as important to survive for me as it is to prove as I said that I do deserve the right to own this". (pats the world title again)
Idalis: "One more thing Jordan before I let you go. you spoke of the stipulations for this match, what was your reaction to the annoucement Stephanie McMahon made on Saturday Night's Main Event"?
Rockwell: "I thought she'd lost it! I mean, first fall is Triple H's selected no holds barred street fight and then is my submission match and she adds the most dangerous match in the TWF as the third fall, I literally thought the girl went freakin nuts adding it to the stipulations. So it should be a wild night but this belt is very important to me and if that's what I gotta do then Triple H better take his vitamins and eat his wheaties cause it'll be on at DoomsDay".
Idalis: "Thank you Jordan for joining me once again".
Rockwell: "And once again, my pleasure Idalis".
Idalis: "There you have it from the TWF world champion, Jordan Rockwell, the man who along with Triple H will have to survive the Stairway to Doom to leave the arena as TWF's world champion".
mFw SPOTLIGHT WE'VE DONE SEVERAL SMW SPOTLIGHTS BUT WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE mFw, WE WILL NOW SHOWCASE THEIR SUPERSTARS AS WELL SO MEET JD BLAZE AND HEAR WHAT ALEXANDRA CAINE HAS TO SAY ABOUT HIM.
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 240 lbs.
Hometown: Bensonhurst, NYC
Age: 23
Finishers: 1. the heatwave
2. the fear factor
Bio: 23 year old rookie phenom JD Blaze is considered to be the blue chipper of the mFw. He is one of if not the most popular member of the mFw's talented young roster and a future superstar. Blaze was trained in his native New York city by Johnny Rodz and is in the midst of a fued with Shane Douglas, the company's veteran locker room leader. He may suprise his critics with all his success but he doesn't suprise his fellow mFw mates.
Jason Glory : "When it comes to JD, his desire to be world champion isn't a suprise. He'll win that belt cause to him nothing else will do but to be champion that's just how he is".
Honky Tonk Man : "I've been in the business for a long time and I think he's got to be the first wrestler I've seen where he's more concerned with wrestling then being a normal youngman at his age, and that's real rare cause you don't hear him complain about a lack of this or that. You do however hear him ask for more work and thanking for it. So I gotta say it wouldn't suprise me if he won the mFw title, but it would suprise me if he didn't".
Alexandra Caine: "He's got the right qualities you need to be in this business which are he's young and talented and he's hungry and it helps that he's a good looking young man which makes him marketable and that means that the more success he has the more the mFw will". BE SURE TO CATCH JD BLAZE ON mFw PROGRAMMING!
NEW FEATURE: TURN BACK THE TWF CLOCK THIS IS OUR NEW FEATURE AND IT WILL BECOME A REGULARITY ON THE SUPERSTAR CORNER. TONIGHT, WE GO BACK TO MAY 26,2000, ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE THE TWF WENT ONLINE AND THE PPV, TWF ERUPTION. MAY 26, 2000 TONIGHT's FOCUS WILL BE ON THE MAIN EVENT OF THAT PPV, SIMPLY TITLED THE ERUPTION MATCH. THE MATCH CAME ABOUT AFTER NEWLY CROWNED TWF CHAMPION TRAVIS WAKEMAN BEGAN TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE MATCHES HE WAS BEING "FORCED" TO BE IN. SHANE CAME UP WITH AN IDEA THAT HE WOULD GET AN OPPONENT OF HIS CHOICE TO FACE WAKEMAN AND THAT ENDED UP BEING HIS OWN FATHER VINCE. WITH A LOW BLOW AND A LITTLE HELP FROM SHANE, VINCE PULLED THE SHOCKER. BUT ON THE NEXT SHOW, HE RELINQUISHED THE TITLE DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE WAS NOT AN ACTIVE COMPETITOR, A MOVE THAT DREW A LOT OF CRITICISM FROM FANS. Vince McMahon: "I know some of the fans didn't care for that decision but what's hard to understand about it? I wasn't an active competitor. I did it to prove a point to Wakeman, that was it". AFTER SETTING UP THE "ERUPTION" MATCH, A FREE 4 ALL ELIMINATION CONTAINING 12 MEN, THE McMAHON's DECIDED TO ENTER WAKEMAN INTO IT IF HE COULD BEAT THEIR SOON TO BE FAMILY MEMBER, TRIPLE H AND MUCH TO THEIR CHAGRIN, HE DID. WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM TWF CEO LINDA McMAHON, THE McMAHON's WERE FORCED TO PUT MORE SUPERSTARS IN THE FIELD THAT THEY DIDN'T CARE FOR AND THE FINAL 12 WAS SET. KING MABEL, UNDERTAKER, KANE, SGT. SLAUGHTER, HULK HOGAN, SHAWN MICHAELS, TEST, "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN, THE ROCK, THE BIG SHOW AND WAKEMAN. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BLOOD FEST ROLL AS TWF.COM CHATS WITH TWF BOARD MEMBERS TONY GAREA AND BLACKJACK LANZA. Tony Garea: "In my opinion, it was one of the best matches we ever had. It had it all. The lineup of superstars was tremendous and any of those guys could've won it". Blackjack Lanza: "The match had it all and the crowd in Phoenix sure got their money's worth that night". A CLIP IS SHOWN OF THE BIG SHOW CHOKESLAMMING KING MABEL. Garea: "Oh I couldn't believe when he did that, the whole ring looked like it was gonna cave in". AFTER BIG SHOW PINNED KING MABEL AND THE ROCK WITH CHOKESLAMS, IT CAME DOWN TO HIM AND WAKEMAN. BUT THE BLOODY WAKEMAN TOOK A BEATING AND KEPT COMING AT THE BIG SHOW. HE SLIPPED OUT OF A CHOKESLAM AND DELIVERED HIS SLEEPER DROP, NOW KNOWN AS THE ACE IN THE HOLE. IT WASN'T ENOUGH TO KEEP BIG SHOW DOWN BUT IN THE NO HOLDS BARRED AFFAIR, WAKEMAN BROKE HIM OPEN WITH A CHAIR SHOT TO THE HEAD AND THEN LOCKED IN THE ROUND TABLE. THE REFEREE GOT NO RESPONSE AND CALLED FOR THE BELL AS WAKEMAN HAD DONE IT. Lanza: "It goes to show you how good Wakeman is. He lost a tremendous amount of blood and won perhaps the toughest match I've ever witnessed". Vince: "As a whole, we were very satisfied with the match. The atmosphere was electric and Wakeman got the classic we hate you but respect you for what you just did response. It was one of my all time favorite events". BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THIS FEATURE AS NEXT TIME, WE WILL GO BACK IN TIME AGAIN, DO YOU REMEMBER IT? TOMMY DREAMER TELLS ALL Johnathan Coachman: "I'm here at this time with one of the TWF's newest acquisitions, Tommy Dreamer but as you say Tommy, this was in the works for awhile". Tommy Dreamer: "Yeah Coach, it has. The TWF first showed interest in me well over a year ago but back then, WCW2 wasn't willing to make a deal for me". Coachman: "How'd that make you feel"? Dreamer: "I was frustrated because they were a company that didn't have it's head on straight and I knew they were going down. I wanted to come here so bad". Coachman: "What about when it evolved into the GWF, that didn't do anything for ya"? Dreamer: "At first it definitely did. But it was ran by a lot of the same people who went back to a lot of the same shit, pardon my language. I just wanted a new start". Coachman: "About 3 and a half weeks ago, you got the call about that new start, what was that like"? Dreamer: "I got a call on my personal cell from Vince McMahon and at first I was like, how the hell did you get my number. But when he started talking about the deal they made, I forgot about that quickly". Coachman: "Was it a good sum of money"? Dreamer: "It wasn't the money Coach. I love this business, always have and always will. But since this company went big about two and a half years ago, this is where I've wanted to be". Coachman: "Tommy, your last night in the GWF you were defeated in a World Title match and the letters mFw were spraypainted across your back. How fitting was it that on your first night in the TWF, you learned that the mFw now belonged to us"? Dreamer: "Oh that was an added bonus! That was one company I hold dear to my heart, cause those were good times. But if anyone can bring them back, it's the TWF". Coachman: "Thank you for taking time to answer my questions Tommy and good luck at DoomsDay in your big tag match". Dreamer: "No problem Coach, thank you". Welcome to the newest feature here in the TWF, a weekly column to be posted on Superstar Corner, written by your humble servant, Chris Dalby. I shall attempt to make this column as varied and as versatile as possible, representing the multiple and fascinating facets of the TWF and indeed the whole industry today. I shall be conducting this column under a number of themes: reviews of the week’s shows, interviews with different superstars and a Wrestler of the Week slot.
I would be extremely appreciative of any feedback, ideas, constructive criticism (both positive and negative). You would of course be duly credited for any contribution you make. Please feel free to e-mail me at cpd0@aber.ac.uk
This week, I will start off simple with a review of both the last Raw and PrimeTime shows and their respective development of the DoomsDay card as well as a Wrestler of the Week Award.
Raw Review:
RVD vs. Christopher Nowinski:
This match was a pure squash match, Nowinski showing his atrocious lack of experience against one of the tougher opponents on the Raw roster. However, after seeing his friend being defeated so easily, Mr. Perfect will have taken the measure of Van Dam and now knows he will have to be on top form to beat him at DoomsDay. The rivalry between these two is heating up show after show and their clash should certainly be a memorable one.
Matthew ‘Koo Bear’ Taylor vs. Shawn Stasiak:
It is too early for me to have a real opinion on Koo Bear but after an impressive win on Stasiak, he certainly seems to have the talent to go far in the TWF. His style for a big man seems to be quite mobile and I am very excited at the idea of seeing him team up with Pyromania. A consistent tag team might be a brilliant idea for these two new additions to the roster in order for them to gain the respect and rank they obviously deserve.
Akasha and Victoria vs. Terri Gold and Jessica Lopez:
FINALLY…..the day has come where cracks begin to appear in Akasha’s confidence. This was an awesome match between four of the most talented women on the roster and it was indeed very refreshing to see Akasha begin to doubt. However, Victoria seemed to be carried for much of the match with Akasha, possibly indicating some more training required. She certainly needs to up the tempo in coming weeks. Returning to Akasha, the Angel with Black Wings has torn through this division for so long, it will be fascinating to see how she reacts to the pressure on her to confirm against Terri Gold at DoomsDay. Gold certainly has the talent to beat Akasha but will the sheer brutality of the Women’s Champ prove too much?
William Regal vs. Tommy Dreamer (Civil Rights Introduction):
This match, although nicely showcasing the talents of both men, seemed little more than an introductory scene for the Civil Rights group. I must say, I do not know quite what to think of this stable. The cliffhanger at the end of last week’s show with Malice appearing left me in suspense and although unable to pinpoint why, I felt slightly disappointed. Civil Rights reminds me a bit too much of RTC (perish the thought!) but I hope I am wrong and that they will soar to success. They certainly have the members to do so with Malice especially, I would bet, just about ready to tear through anyone in his path. But I believe the crucial factor will be how Teddy Long establishes himself as a manager. Stephanie seemed aghast at his return so it is possible Civil Rights has a few surprises in store for us.
Tag Team Battle Royale:
This was a very well-rounded match, which took pride of place in performance as well as in storyline development. Civil Rights have certainly emerged as dangerous contenders with the unlikely pairing of D’Lo and Benjamin getting the better of all comers, and certainly showing their potential for ruthless aggression, leaving Dreamer and Sabu, two of the hardest men in the TWF, lying prone in the ring. This certainly added a lot of interest to the Skeleton Key match which had seemed a little hurried and the Internet will be rife with speculation as to what that key will open.
On to storylines and we are having some tremendous matches being set up for DoomsDay. Firstly, I could not help laughing at High Octane and Nidia after Nemesis’ intervention. How suicidal do those two have to be to mess with one of the most unpredictable men around? I predict a Sam Wilde return at DoomsDay, leading to a Nemesis win but then again, Nemesis could take those two out single-handed. It might do some good to High Octane or as I like to call him, the Testosterone-fueled Teenager.
Although the Outsiders and Muta and Chono always provide great entertainment, I truly believe this feud should be put to rest after DoomsDay. These four have been baying for each other’s blood for weeks but it has used its potential. Personally, the Outsiders have been disappointing for me recently and I do hope Muta and Chono put them away, although knowing Hall and Nash, they will assure they have some backup before stepping in the ring.
For me, the Undertaker-Strife match has the chance of being the real show-stealer at DoomsDay. Cracks are beginning to appear in the friendship between Strife and Bahamut and I anticipate a total breakdown at DoomsDay, possibly with guest referee Bahamut giving the win to the Deadman. As for the feud itself, if only all feuds could be like this, I could die a happy man. Ever since Taker defeated Bahamut in a Title Match, this confrontation has been brewing but the Phenom’s cowardly attack on Strife really showed how insecure he is feeling. This Clash of the Titans at DoomsDay should be a skull-bashing, bone-jarring event. Good luck to both the Locomotive and the Undertaker because there will be no prisoners taken!
I admit I was unconvinced by the Lita-nude pictures storyline at first, thinking it was a cheap way to put Rockwell off his title match but I was pleasantly surprised to see Steiner side with HHH and now Rockwell faces the toughest challenge and certainly the most fearsome alliance of his career. Two experienced veterans are out to destroy him and the TWF Champ will have to watch his back at every turn going into DoomsDay. And with the Stairway to Doom match announced by Stephanie McMahon, both superstars will turn up the heat for a possible Match of the Year contender.
What I believe elevated this Raw, above many others, was its beautiful advancement of so many storylines although I would have liked to see one or two more matches instead of so unofficial grappling. Why not have Steiner reveal he sent the photos to Lita earlier in the show and set up a match between him and Rockwell with HHH interfering?
PrimeTime Review:
Jamal and Rosey vs. Evolution:
Now Jamal and Rosey may be former Tag Team Champs and have beaten WE but they just do not have any effect on me. They have the in-ring charisma of Doink the Clown and the mic skills of Brock Lesnar on helium. Plus they REALLY need to lose some weight fast, next to them Mark Henry looks like Jared. That aside, they were up against one of the most exciting Tag Teams in the TWF today who deservedly picked up the win. This match proved how intelligence and teamwork can beat brawn and sheer power. Somewhere down the line, I would really like to see Evolution have a shot at the Tag Titles, they certainly deserve it.
John Cena vs. Sean O’Doul:
Now, this was a brilliant match between two fresh faces and a feud I would like to see carry on for some time. O’Doul has impressed me since his debut in the TWF and he has the ability to go far. I like his Irish gimmick, original and innovative, essential elements gimmicks are short on these days. As far as Cena is concerned, it has been noted in the locker room that he has tremendous potential on the mic and I would like that to emerge more in coming weeks. But with so many talented wrestlers out there, it may be hard for either of them to harvest a slot in the upper echelons.
Matt Hardy and Dylan Jansens vs. Jamie Noble and Chris Michaels:
This was a very entertaining match and a very smooth progression of the friendly feud between Matt and Jansens. It is good to see some regular quality cruiserweight action in PrimeTime now and both Dylan Jansens and Chris Michaels seem to be coming into their own now. Personally, I have been slightly disappointed by Jamie Noble’s performances lately and I think he needs a solid feud to help elevate him to the next level. Matt has certainly been a great Lightheavyweight Champion for the last few months but will he be able to top Dylan Jansens who has been on a roll as of late especially with his recent upset of Weapon R. This feud has certainly given a second breath to two competitors who were in dire need of focus, Matt having turned face and Dylan setting his mind on the target of the LH Title. I predict a Matt Hardy win at DoomsDay with a rematch down the road. Rumors of a Number 1 Contender Lightheavyweight Battle Royale, if confirmed, should also give rise to one of the best matches ever on PrimeTime.
Carney vs. Hayabusa:
This had the potential to be the best match on the show and although I expected Camp Cornette interference, I was annoyed to see them come out so early although it provided a good showcase for Gundam’s new finisher, which by the way, looks deadly (look out Stone Cold). I admit at not being too excited at the prospect of a stable feud between Camp Cornette and the New Breed. I anticipate a dissolution of CC in not too long as Gundam focuses on his solo career and God knows, Benoit deserves better than what he is getting. As for Carney, I am undecided about him. A former Rookie of the Year and LH Champ, since the roster split, he seems to be wandering aimlessly. His attempt at a new Team Xtreme with Jeff Hardy failed miserably but hopefully, his trade to PrimeTime and his adherence to the New Breed will be the kick he needs. I only pray Rockwell will devote some time to overseeing this still fledgling talent whom I hold to be one of the most impressive cruiserweights the TWF has ever seen.
Brock Lesnar vs. Bradshaw:
I am loving this, so loving this. WE have at last met some people who will stand up to them. There seems to be a rising mass of superstars who will support Shane against any takeover by Wakeman and his cronies. Bradshaw certainly made his opinion heard by inflicting upon Lesnar only his second, albeit controversial, defeat in the TWF. I popped like mad at the assist from Rey Mysterio and that ‘Clothesline From Hell’ looked like it should have just about decapitated Lesnar. Expect some sort of retaliation very soon from Wakeman Enterprises.
Val Venis vs. Edge:
Although hurriedly thrown together, this match showcased two of the best talents on the roster and showed a new side to Edge as he went toe-to-toe with Venis’ brawling style. The two brothers-in-law provided some entertainment, and despite a sneaky win by Venis, I think this has the potential to develop into a good feud, possibly elevating Edge to the main-event spot he has been striving towards for months. Written in the right way, this could continue very nicely. Will Allison get involved?
Triple Threat: Drew Blood vs. Batista vs. Shawn Michaels:
Simply amazing. These three guys really slogged it out to provide some top-notch wrestling with some interesting twists in it. Who would have thought Batista would double-team HBK with his enemy, Blood? Although a cheap win by Batista, the real workhorse in this match was Drew Blood who showed tremendous skill and resilience thanks to his trusty Blood Bath, setting himself up as the firm favorite for DoomsDay. However, Batista did perform well and seems deserving of his push. I would love to see him go for the IC or the Toughman Titles sometime soon. This certainly did show what we can expect for the HBK/Drew Blood clash at DoomsDay as the world will wait with baited breath for that one.
Looking towards DoomsDay, I am divided about the Stone Cold/Kid Gundam clash. The two are among the hardest workers on PrimeTime and they tell a wonderful story each time they step into the ring. Yet, they have such vastly contrasting styles, I wonder how these will blend. I have no doubt the two will work their butts off to make this match all it could be but it will either be a damp squib or an instant classic. I have to say I REALLY like Gundam’s new personality. On PrimeTime, he finally showed himself to be the true bastard everyone knew he could be with a vicious nunchuks attack on Stone Cold and striking out free of CC (Thank God). However, when you mess with the Rattlesnake, expect to get bitten. At DoomsDay, Austin will be out for Gundam’s blood and will make him pay for his actions, once again proving he is the toughest SOB in the business. It could be close but I think Gundam will take the pounding of a lifetime.
As for the WE/Shane conflict, Vince’s impromptu appearance at the end of PrimeTime left so many questions to be answered.
How will Wakeman make Shane sign over PrimeTime to him?
How will Vince be involved in all this?
What exactly is Dawn Marie’s role?
Will the PT superstars try and lead a coup?
Will Stephanie have something to say about a change in ownership of her rival show?
Tune in to DoomsDay to find out………
Wrestler of the Week: DREW BLOOD
Even if he lost to Batista last week and did not pick up the win this week due to an opportunistic Batista, this man has simply been terrifyingly powerful both physically and mentally. He may be as mad as a March hare but anyone in his way, he will crush with no afterthought. This is what truly makes him one of the best superstars in the TWF and a sure future holder of the TWF Title.
