Both men looked good in this one, and even Aries himself seemed surprised at the amount of resistance he received. Aries started this one off with some quick strikes and low kicks. Doll was able to block a right hand and began to land some strikes of his own. The two men then got into a bit of a showmanship contest, going back-and-forth with some athletic chain wrestling. Doll ended up getting the advantage after sneaking in a thumb to the eye while Von Erich distracted the referee. Doll continued the pressure, hitting a couple of nice standing suplexes, as well as a picture-perfect belly-to-back slam that sent Aries into the mat with a thud. Doll then hit the top rope, looking for a legdrop, but Aries rolled out of the way at the very last second. With his opponent momentarily stunned, Aries used the opportunity to lock Doll into The Last Chancery. Despite Von Erich's screams from ringside, Doll couldn't escape and had no choice but to tap out.
Richard Ramsley w/ Kris Wolf vs. Low-Ki
Low-Ki was obviously looking for a measure of revenge against Ramsley for his post-match attack on the last TWF show, as he wasted little time going after Ramsley right from the gate. He peppered Ramsley with some very stiff strikes, forcing Ramsley to try and escape to the safety of the corner. Low-Ki continued his offensive, only separating after the ref reached a count of 4. As he backed away, however, he smacked Ramsley right in the face. Ramsley looked incensed, and as he walked out from the corner, he raised his right hand, appearing to be looking for a heavy right hook, but just as Low-Ki reacted, Ramsley instead landed a sharp straight kick from out of nowhere into Low-Ki's knee, dropping him down. Ramsley then nailed him with a hard axe-handle to the back, dropping him to the mat. He proceeded to put the boots to Low-Ki, much to Wolf's delight. Ramsley then picked up Low-Ki, and nailed him with an elbow to the side of the head. After a scoop slam and a snap suplex, Ramsley picked up Low-Ki again, and attempted to Irish whip him into the ropes, but Low-Ki reversed, and hit the rebounding Ramsley with a beautiful dropkick. Low-Ki hit him with more sharp strikes before landing a few deep arm drags, followed by a hurricanrana that had Ramsley retreating to the corner once again. Low-Ki backed into the opposite corner, looking to hit Ramsley with a big move, but was stopped when Kris Wolf grabbed onto his foot! He was able to get his foot free, and both he and the ref turned to admonish her. While both men were preoccupied, however, Ramsley had snuck up behind Low-Ki, and proceeded to hit him with a quick, hard kick to the groin! Low-Ki doubled over, and Ramsley quickly lifted him up before nailing him with the "Truth of Consequences!" Ramsley rolled him over and covered him for the 1, 2 3!
Kid Gundam, Jr. vs. Wade Barrett
A major clash of styles in this one, as the fast paced Gundam Jr. took on the methodical bruiser, Barrett. From the start of the match, Barrett was able to keep the pace to his liking, wearing Gundam down with big strikes and various slams. Gundam found his first opportunity when Barrett went for a stalling suplex. Barrett took just a little too much time, as Gundam was able to land a couple of knees to the crown of Barrett's head and flip over behind him. From there, Gundam worked on picking up the pace, getting in some good offense that included a beautiful looking hip toss, and a monkey flip from the corner. Then, however, Gundam went for a springboard crossbody from the corner. Barrett scouted this well and landed a big boot right to Gundam's midsection. Barrett then got Gundam in a full-mount, and began to hit him with some vicious ground and pound. Keeping cool, however, Gundam was able to flip over onto his stomach and slide out from underneath Barrett. Both men scrambled to their feet, and both reached a vertical base when Barrett went for a kick to the gut that Gundam caught. Gundam then kicked Barrett's other leg out from under him, causing him to fall into a split. Barrett roared in pain, not used to his legs stretching so far. As Barrett found himself stuck, Gundam hit the ropes before blasting the defenseless Barrett with a shinning wizard. From there, it was academic as Kid Gundam lifted Barrett up before dropping him with a hanging brainbuster. He rolled into the cover and got the 3 count.
Shawn Stasiak vs. TWF Television Champion: Troy Gafgen (Non-Title Match)
In a rematch from the last TWF TV, Stasiak sought to get a little payback, however Gafgen made it clear that he wasn't about to let that happen. Stasiak started off strong, taking it straight to Gafgen, and forcing him into the corner with rapid-fire lefts and rights. However, before the ref could even get a start counted for Stasiak to break the hold, Gafgen simply grabbed him by the shoulders and shoved him off of him, sending Stasiak to the mat hard. Troy then immediately walked over to Stasiak and began to lay stomp after stomp into his midsection. He then shoved his boot into the face of Stasiak, grinding his heel into his temple. Stasiak howled in pain as the ref threatened to disqualify Troy if he didn't let up. Gafgen did so, only to drop down to his knees and begin choking Stasiak. Again, the ref threatened a disqualification, and Troy released his grip on Stasiak's throat. As he got up, however, he smacked Stasiak across the face, hard. From there, he lifted Stasiak up and hoisted him into a gutwrench power bomb. Stasiak seemed out of it right then and there, but almost as if to put an exclamation point on it, Troy once again lifted the motionless man up before planting him with "The Sickness." Gafgen sat into the cover, and the ref counted the easy 1, 2, 3.
Sebastian Cain vs. Sylvester Terkay
Cain had a lot of power and technical skill to contend against in this one, as Terkay seemed ready to go. Cain seemed to be trying to go for the legs early on, looking to perhaps remove the powerful man's vertical base. This was only effective for a moment, however, as when Cain went for another kick to the leg, Terkay used the opening to go for a shoot takedown, slamming Cain into the mat with some force. He sat up into a mount, reigning some hard shots down as Cain did his best to cover up. After a couple more shots, Terkay then transitioned into a nasty looking kneebar. It seemed like he had it locked in tightly, but Cain was able to lift his leg over Terkay, and was able to drop his heel down onto the monsters face a few times, forcing him to release the hold. It was pretty back and forth from there; Cain was able to land some good offense, choosing to wear the big man down with kicks to the legs, and a lot of headlocks and waistlocks. Terkay, when he found openings, punished Cain with massive slams and solid MMA work. The turning point came when Cain found himself in the corner. Terkay charged in, looking for a massive corner spear, but Cain managed to move out of the way. Terkay went head first into the ring post, shaking the massive man up a bit. Dazed, he stumbled into the middle of the ring as Cain hit the ropes. Using all his momentum, he landed a perfect crossbody onto Terkay, landing into the cover. The ref counted to 2, but Terkay managed to get his shoulder up at the last second. Feeling that this was his opportunity, Cain stalked Terkay as he slowly got to his feet, and with what can only be described as a Herculean effort, Cain managed to hit "The Mark of Cain"! Cain managed to bridge into the cover, and the referee counted the 1, 2, 3.
Cain was celebrating his win when "Black Honey" began playing, and Richard Ramsley made his way to the ring, Kris Wolf by his side. Mic in hand, he got face to face with Cain. Cain looked ready to defend against an attack at any moment.
Richard Ramsley: "You don't need to worry, Cain, I'm not going to touch you. Not until Resurrection. But I figured it was time I got something off my chest. See, Cain... I have to beat you. I HAVE to beat you. I won the TWF King of Cable Championship. Hell, I was the longest reigning King of Cable Champion in TWF history. But you know what? never felt like a champion. I never felt like I was worthy of it. You know why? Because of you. I never beat you. I couldn't beat you. And that killed me. It ate away at me, Sebastian. After you beat me, that's all I heard..."Oh, that Sebastian Cain, he's a future World Champion." "Man, that Sebastian Cain, what a future he has ahead of him." It wasn't Ramsley and Cain won Match of the Year, it was Sebastian Cain won Match of the Year. It wasn't Ramsley and Cain had one of the biggest feuds in TWF history, it was Cain had one of the biggest feuds in TWF history. I was a footnote, Cain. A stepping stone for your greatness. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THAT'S LIKE!? When you're out there, doing the only thing you've ever been any good at in this world, and... you're just not good enough? But I am good enough. I am better than you, Cain. So you can act all cool and smug all you want, but I want you to remember something, Sebastian. This isn't about me hurting you. This isn't about me making your life a living hell. This is about me showing you.... no.... this is about me showing MYSELF that I can beat you. Because I'm going to do great things in the TWF, Cain. But I can't do any of them... until I can get past you".
Ramsley drops the mic and leaves a speechless Cain standing in the middle of the ring.
Cody Rhodes w/ Brandi Rhodes vs. Kevin Thorn w/ Ariel
Thorn had the power advantage in this one, and he made sure Rhodes knew it. He dared Rhodes to a test of strength, which Cody agreed to. Thorn easily powered Rhodes to his knees before hitting him square in the midsection with a knee. Rhodes quickly scrambled to his feet and began to dance around Thorn, realizing he'd have to utilize his quickness. Almost mimicking a boxing match, Rhodes would quickly lean in, land a jab or two to Thorn's stomach before backing out and moving around him again. He was able to do this three times, but then went to the well once too many, as Thorn was able to catch his hand. With Cody caught in his grasp, Thorn nailed Cody with a hard headbutt Thorn spent the next few minutes wearing Cody down at a slow, methodical pace. Cody was able to gain some momentum of his own after reversing a standing suplex attempt. He landed a few dropkicks, and managed to hit a big spinebuster on Thorn. Afterwards, Rhodes sent Thorn into the ropes, looking to hit him with a standing clothesline, but Thorn threw his arm out as well, and both men leveled each other. Thorn was up to his feet first. He lifted Cody up, and appeared to be setting him up for a running powerslam, but Cody was able to get his arm around Thorn's neck. He held on, and slid off of his shoulder, instantly setting him up for a "Cross Rhodes"! Thorn could do nothing about it, however, as Rhodes drove him hard into the mat. He turned the motionless Thorn over for the pinfall victory.
