October 28, 2004

It was a pre-Halloween visit for the TWF to the Big Apple, traveling to one of it's most rowdy sites. The show started with Uprising and the Million Dollar Team was in seperate singles matches.

Tajiri vs. Rob Conway w/ Ted Dibiase

For almost 12 minutes these two men battled in the opening matchup of the night and after Conway brought Tajiri off the top ring rope with a swinging neckbreaker, it looked like it was all over but Tajiri got his foot on the bottom rope to break the count. Conway argued with the referee, thinking he'd won it. He threw a clothesline at Tajiri when he got up but Tajiri ducked and kicked him in the gut with a reverse martial arts blow followed by the Buzzsaw Kick to the side of the head that got him the win.

Paul London vs. Nick Dinsmore w/ Ted Dibiase

Dinsmore helped the Million Dollar Team go 1-1 on the night when he put London away with a german suplex after London missed with the shooting star press.

TWF Lightheavyweight Title Match

Challenger: Chavo Guerrero vs. Low-Ki

Chavo ran into the red hot kicking machine Low-Ki who was not going to give up his title easily. He broke Guerrero down with his crippling kicks but Chavo showed some serious toughness by fighting back. He set Low-Ki up for the Gory Bomb but Low-Ki had a counter planned and then smashed him with a crescent kick. Chavo looked like he was out cold but referee Mike Enos only got a 2 count. Chavo got back up and blocked a backhand before ducking a reverse kick and then picking Low-Ki up for the Gory Bomb. But rather than delivering the devastating move, Chavo just held it for a painful submission and Low-Ki tapped out, relinquishing his title.

Match Time: 4:57

AS CHAVO MOUNTED THE TURNBUCKLE WITH THE BELT HELD HIGH, A SURPRISING ROAR OF RESPECT CAME FROM THE CROWD.

Rene Dupree w/ Dawn Marie vs. Rick Clark

Dupree came out on the attack and was toying with Clark at one point. But the slaps to the back of the head soon enraged Clark and after he hit a running DDT, the match took a new complexion. Clark was taking the fight to the arrogant frenchmen and after pulling him over with a powerslam, it looked like he was well on his way to victory. But Dawn Marie got up on the apron and Clark came over, grabbing her by the hair. Dupree got up and came from behind Clark with a lowblow that made him fall to his knees and referee Chris Kay called for the bell, disqualifying Dupree. But after the bell had sounded, Dupree added insult to injury by hitting Clark dead on with a chair shot to the head.

This match may be remembered for the quickest tag team match in TWF history. It was over before it started as Strife came into the ring and kicked Sakoda right in the head and Bahamut swung Akio around into "What Legends are Made of" and covered him for the win.

Match Time: 1:07

AFTER THE MATCH, THE PRIMETRON BEGAN TO SHOW FOOTAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE LAST WEEK, RIGHT TO THE POINT WHEN WAR ON AMERICA GOT INVOLVED. AS STRIFE AND BAHAMUT INTENTLY WATCHED, ARIES AND HIROHITO CAME FROM BEHIND, EACH HOLDING SOME SORT OF FOREIGN OBJECT AND THEY BEAT THE TAG TEAM CHAMPS DOWN. AS HIROHITO WAVED THE BLACK FLAG OF HATE, ARIES GOT DOWN AND SPIT RIGHT IN BAHAMUT's FACE.

RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE.......

8 Man over the top rope battle royale

Shane McMahon put together the 8 men who will be on the ballot for fans to vote for to be the number one contender for the Universal title and the eliminations started coming quickly. Rey Mysterio, the smallest man in the match ran into the biggest, Batista and he was tossed over the top rope. Randy Orton gave Mysterio some parting words and Batista saw an oppurtunity, dumping Orton out of the ring! Nails was eliminated by the quick feet of Rob Van Dam but RVD then tossed an unsuspecting Jordan Rockwell out as well. That left four men and RVD teamed with the Hardcore champion Dylan Jansens against Batista and Charlie Haas. Fans were reminded that pinfalls and submissions would also get you an elimination as these 4 went for many. But after hitting RVD with his Exploder suplex, Haas was clotheslined to the floor by Batista who then lifted Dylan Jansens up and gorilla press slammed him to the floor. Batista was ruling the ring and he started to pound away on the former champ RVD. But when he lifted him up for a slam, RVD countered with a small package to stun the big man with a 3 count. The crowd went nuts as "One of a Kind" hit and RVD left with his hand raised.

SHOWS EDGE DEFEATING SHANE THOMPSON FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE AT ERUPTION.

TWF Intercontinental Title Match

Challenger: Shane Thompson vs. Edge

This turned into a spotfest between two of the most innovative men the TWF has ever seen and the crowd definitely got their money's worth. After countering a backdrop attempt into a DDT, Thompson hit the Crash N'Burn moonsault but was shocked when Edge kicked out after 2. Thompson then went to the top rope and jumped off but Edge kicked him in the gut and hit the Downward Spiral, hooking the leg for the 1.......2......., but Thompson was up. Two counts were traded back and forth until Thompson clocked Edge with a superkick. He lifted him up for a vertical suplex but Edge was able to slither out and land behind him, rolling him up with a reverse tuck to get the 3 count and retain the title. Thompson slapped the mat in frustration as Edge left with the title. "Never Gonna Stop" by Rob Zombie flooded the loudspeakers as the crowd cheered in support of Edge.
