The first show after MeltDown was held inside the same arena where the Miami Heat won the most recent NBA championship and the stars of PrimeTime performed in front of a monster crowd. Chris Platoon vs. Snitsky Platoon tried to cut down the big redwood known as Snitsky and he had him reeling after a series of right hands and knifedge chops but after hitting the ropes, he ducked a massive clothesline but then got kicked right in the face by a big boot. Snitsky then hit his sidewinder slam to get the win. Taylor Made vs. Orlando Jordan Taylor Made had things well in his favor after countering the Black Ice move but he missed with a top rope crossbody block and Jordan put him away with the "Best Move Ever". But after Jordan left the ring, a young woman came out of the crowd and seemed very worried about Taylor before being hauled off by security. Rory McCallister w/ Robbie McCallister vs. Eddie Saint James w/ James Mitchell, Monica and Vlad the Impaler The Saint brought with him his gathering, as he referred to them on the microphone before the match, but he had his hands full with one half of the Highlanders. After delivering a big knee lift, Rory seemed to have things in hand and then he knocked Vlad off the apron with a right hand. But Monica went around the ring and jumped onto the shoulders of Robbie which got his cousin distracted. The Saint then came from behind with a shot to the back of the head on Rory and that led to the "Death to Humanity" and he covered him for the win. The Saint and Vlad left along with their two managers to plenty of boos as Robbie checked on Rory in the ring. PRIMETIME GOES LIVE * THIS EDITION OF RESULTS HAS BEEN CONDENSED DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS. PRIMETIME GOES LIVE ON FOX AND ACTUAL FOOTAGE FROM MELTDOWN IS SHOWN, HIGHLIGHTING THE UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH BETWEEN SHANE THOMPSON AND BATISTA. IT SHOWS BATISTA TAKING THOMPSON's BEST SHOTS BUT AFTER COUNTERING AN ATTEMPT AT THE "TOTAL ECLIPSE", HE TAKES OVER THE MATCH, FINISHING THE CHALLENGER OFF WITH HIS VAUNTED BATISTA BOMB. AFTER PRIMETIME's OPENING MONTAGE RUNS, THE SHOT OPENS INSIDE A NEARLY SOLD OUT AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA AND MICHAEL COLE OPENS THE BROADCAST ALONG WITH THE LEGENDARY JESSE VENTURA. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, BOBBY LASHLEY's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO AN ENORMOUS POP AS COLE AND VENTURA SET THE TABLE FOR AN INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH. TWF Intercontinental Title Match Challenger: Bobby Lashley vs. Christian Christian and Lashley seemed to have a lot of respect for each other as the match started off with a handshake. But Christian didn't hesitate to take control of the match anyway he could, getting in a sucker punch when referee Mike Enos went for a break and later raking the eyes of the challenger. But when Christian went for the "Un-Prettier", Lashley countered, pushing him to the ropes before exploding through him with a clothesline. He then hoisted the champion onto his shoulders, spinning him around for his running powerslam. Lashley had the cover and appeared to have the match won but Christian's boot had caught Enos when he got him up for the move. Lashley tried to help Enos up but Christian came from behind and ran Lashley into the ropes. That's when Lashley was struck by a chair shot from Ken Kennedy, who had come down to the ring. Christian rolled Lashley up and Enos made the 3 count but after seeing Kennedy, the man Lashley defeated to earn the title shot, Christian seemed less than thrilled. Match Time: 8:11 BACKSTAGE.... SHANE THOMPSON's DRESSING ROOM......
Shane Thompson is shown sitting in the locker room with a
huge grin on his face. He's looking down at a piece of
paper in his hand. He looks down and nods in approval
looking back up.
Shane Thompson: "Well there, this is quite an impressive resume.
You've only been doing this for four years?"
Voice: "Well I got sidetracked. Ya know? Religion and
all. But for the most part I've been doing both for four
years. And let me tell you Mr. Thompson, I believe I can
help someone like you. You know better than I that great
minds think alike."
Thompson: "Indeed they do. Well I believe I can find
plenty of uses for your...many talents."
Voice: "Thank you so much Mr. Thompson. I'll do my best to
serve you as best I can."
Thompson: (Extending and shaking the man's hand) "Please,
call me Shane. I believe this is going to be the beginning
of a beautiful relationship."
Thompson smiles mischiveously as the scene cuts away. COMMERCIAL BREAK..... RETURN FROM BREAK...... BACKSTAGE AREA...... WHEN PRIMETIME RETURNS, SHANE McMAHON IS CONFRONTED BY AN INCENSED EDGE. Edge: "Did you get the memo"?! Shane McMahon: "Uh, what memo"? Edge: "The one that the Board of Directors was supposed to fax here today, letting you know of my intentions to launch a formal campaign to get the Tazmission banned from the TWF"! Shane: "Uh no.... must've missed that one". Edge: "Look.... I got screwed at MeltDown, beaten by a move that's not even legal and you can bet your ass Shane McMahon..... that it won't happen again"! The Brood w/ Ariel vs. Strife and Bahamut The Brood, with their vampiress who is now going by the name Ariel, tried to attack Strife and Bahamut as they came to the ring from behind. But the former multiple time tag team champs were ready for it, easily overpowering Gangrel and The Lost Boy and beating them outside the ring. Strife whipped Gangrel into the steel ring steps and referee Charles Robinson decided to throw the match out before it even started. But they were able to get Johnny Swinger into the ring and although Ariel screamed for Strife and Bahamut not to do him any harm, they used a double slingshot suplex in which they just threw Swinger over the top rope, right next to Gangrel. Ariel came and helped The Brood up and they retreated, looking back at Strife and Bahamut who wanted more. Match Time: No Decision (never became official) BACKSTAGE...... A CAMERA IN THE BACK SHOWS JOHNNY HAAZRD TALKING TO ONE OF THE AGENTS. THE CAMERA PANS OVER TO SHOW SHANE THOMPSON. Thompson: "Oh yeah, you're right about him and trust me, his time will come. But first, we have to make our intentions known. So we will go to the ring later tonight and tell the world that our war on hardcore wrestling...... starts tonight". THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING WHERE RANDY ORTON STANDS IN DRESS CLOTHES, HOLDING THE HOUSE MICROPHONE. ORTON CONGRATULATES HIMSELF FOR DEFEATING JOHNNY HAZARD AT MELTDOWN AND SAYS HIS "TOTAL DOMINATION" THERE HAS MADE HIM REALIZE HE NEEDS TO GO FOR BIGGER THINGS, SHOOT FOR BIGGER STARS. THAT LEADS TO HIM CALLING OUT THE UNIVERSAL CHAMPION BATISTA. IT DOESN'T TAKE THE ANIMAL LONG TO RESPOND, COMING TO THE RING TO A HUGE POP WITH THE UNIVERSAL TITLE IN HIS RIGHT HAND. ORTON TELLS BATISTA THAT HE IS SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT HOW UNBEATABLE BATISTA IS AND FEELS THAT HE DESERVES THE NEXT SHOT AT THE TITLE. WITHOUT HESISTATION, BATISTA SAYS HE AGREES AND ASKS ORTON TO NAME THE TIME AND PLACE, SAYING HE HAS NO REASON TO BE SCARED DUE TO HIS SPOTLESS WIN-LOSS RECORD AGAINST HIM. ORTON DOESN'T SEEM TO LIKE THE COMMENT, AND SAYS IT's NOT GOING TO WORK THAT WAY. HE TELLS BATISTA HE'LL NAME THE TIME AND PLACE WHEN HE's READY TO. ORTON EXTENDS HIS HAND AND BATISTA ACCEPTS A HANDSHAKE. BUT WHEN BATISTA TURNS TO LEAVE, ORTON SPINS HIM AROUND AND PUTS HIM DOWN WITH THE "RKO". HE THEN PICKS UP THE UNIVERSAL TITLE, LOOKING OVER IT WITH A HUGE SMILE ON HIS FACE AS THE CROWD GAVE HIM PLENTY OF HEAT. "BURN IN MY LIGHT" BY MERCY DRIVE PLAYED AND ORTON DROPPED THE BELT ON THE CHEST OF THE CHAMP BEFORE LEAVING THE RING, VERY HAPPY WITH WHAT HE JUST DID. COMMERCIAL BREAK....... PRIMETIME RETURNS TO SHOW THE BROOD, WHO ARE TEARING UP PART OF A HALLWAY, WITH ARIEL. Ariel: "Enough! This will do us no good, there's only one thing we can do. GANGREL AND SWINGER COME IN CLOSE, LOOKING AT ARIEL. We must contact the dark side...... we must find a reinforcement". GANGREL AND SWINGER SEEM TO LIKE THE IDEA. CM Punk vs. Chris Masters This was a classic matchup and power versus speed and ability and for the most part, Punk looked spectacular. He easily beat Masters to every punch and after a slap to each side of the head, he went for a roundhouse kick which Masters ducked, only to be dropped with a palm strike. That led to a nasty shining wizard and Punk covered Masters for a very near fall. Punk went for an irish whip to the corner but Masters reversed it and slammed into him with a clothesline. After catching him with a big powerslam off an irish whip, Masters yelled "Masterlock". He went for his inescapable full nelson but Punk easily slipped out into a rollup for the 1........2......., but Masters was up again. Punk drilled him with a flying wheel kick when he got up and he was rolling. Just then, Chaos Wolf, sporting shades, a skull cap and a long trench coat. He had a microphone in his hand and he told CM Punk, "I don't see what all the hype is about" and Punk then turned into a double sledge from Masters that caught him right in the face. The move looked like something right out of the book of Ivan Putski and it got Masters the win, giving Punk his first loss in the TWF. After the match, Chaos Wolf yelled "See everybody.... he's a loser, there's nothing to cheer for here"! Wolf slammed the mic down and left as Masters celebrated the win. Match Time: 9:41 BACKSTAGE....... RANDY ORTON LOOKS LIKE HE IS GOING TO LEAVE THE ARENA WHEN MARIA RUNS UP. Maria: "Randy, I gotta ask, Batista agreed to give you the match, so why did you have to get him with a cheap shot"? Randy Orton: "Look Maria, watch what you say or you'll find yourself on the receiving end of an RKO yourself. Batista.... I told you I'd name the time and place when I was ready and I just talked to Shane McMahon. I want this match to be at Eruption, so I'll see ya there.... Dave. BEFORE ORTON CAN LEAVE, JOHNNY HAZARD COMES UP AND GETS IN HIS FACE. Orton: "Wow, you're alive". Johnny Hazard: "You beat me Orton, I'm man enough to admit it. You beat me in my own match. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna go away. So next week, I'm challenging you to a match, no stipulations, just a regular old match. ORTON DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT TO ANSWER HIM. I'll be in the ring next week Orton..... hopefully I'll see you there". HAZARD WALKS AWAY AS ORTON JUST LOOKS ON. Dustin Kash w/ Sean O'Haire vs. Tanaka w/ Sonny Onoo and Kato It was announced during the match by Michael Cole that next week, the blood Brothers will defend the TWF Tag Team titles against the former champions, the Orient Express. Referee Mickey Henson did his best to make sure neither O'Haire nor Kato got involved in the match. Dustin Kash seemed like he was way too much for Tanaka, anticipating every one of his kicks and just blasting him with a clothesline. After delivering a stump puller piledriver, Kash went to the outside of the ring but turned to Kato and flew off with a lariat on him. Henson became distracted by this and in the ring, O'Haire, a martial artist himself, drilled Tanaka with a jumping roundhouse that seemed to knock him out. Kash came back into the ring, looking to pick up the pieces when the lights dimmed and a red smoke began billowing from out of the entrance area, followed by a devilish laugh. Kash and O'Haire both looked stunned as the words "I'm comin' to getcha" were heard over the loudspeakers. When Kash turned back to the action, Tanaka flattened him with a superkick that jacked his head back and he made the cover for the 1.....2........3. Match Time: 8:03 SONNY ONOO AND HIS ORIENT EXPRESS LEFT, EARNING PLENTY OF MOMENTUM HEADING INTO NEXT WEEK's TITLE MATCH. COMMERCIAL BREAK....... RETURN FROM BREAK...... BACKSTAGE..... AXL IRVIN AND TRACI BROOKS ARE SHOWN IN THEIR DRESSING ROOMS AND THEY HAVE A TABLE OF WINE AND CATERED FOOD IN FRONT OF THEM. AXL TAKES A BITE OF SHRIMP. Axl Irvin: "Baby.... this is the life. And now that Flair is out of the way, we can focus on the original target, starting tonight". Traci Brooks: "Sounds good to me babe". AXL AND TRACI KISS AS THE SHOT IS SENT TO THE RING. SHANE THOMPSON IS IN THE RING AND HE INTRODUCES HIS BRAND NEW ASSOCIATE, ALEX SHELLEY! SHELLEY COMES OUT WITH A CAMCORDER AND A TRIPOD AND SETS IT UP NEAR THE RING. THOMPSON SAYS THAT THE "WAR ON HARDCORE" STARTS TONIGHT, CLAIMING THAT THE BRAND OF WRESTLING HAS BEEN A HUGE CONTRIBUTOR TO WHAT IS BRINGING THE SPORT DOWN. TOGETHER WITH SHELLEY, THE TWO PLAN ON EXPOSING EVERY HARDCORE GUY IN THE BACK FOR WHAT THEY CAN'T DO, WRESTLE, AND HOPEFULLY, THAT'LL LEAD TO THEIR EVENTUAL FIRING. WITH THAT SAID "WHAT DOES EVERYBODY WANT" IS HEARD AND AL SNOW, ONE TIME TWF SUPERSTAR COMES OUT TO A PRETTY BIG RESPONSE. SNOW TAKES SERIOUS OFFENSE TO THOMPSON's WORDS, SAYING THAT HE NOW SERVES AS ONE OF THE MAIN TRAINERS DOWN IN SMW, WORKING TO BRING IN THE STARS OF TOMORROW. THOMPSON OFFERS TO SEND SHELLEY DOWN TO HELP WITH THE TRAINING BECAUSE THE STARS OF TOMORROW "SHOULDN'T BE TAKING LESSONS FROM A GUY WHO WON MATCHES WITH A BOWLING BALL AND A DEER HEAD". AL SNOW SAYS HE's GOT NO WEAPONS WITH HIM TONIGHT AND HE CHALLENGES THOMPSON TO A MATCH, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. THOMPSON ACCEPTS. Shane Thompson w/ Alex Shelley vs. Al Snow As soon as the bell sounded, the two locked up and Snow took Thompson to the mat with a whipover headlock. Snow then twisted Thompson up like a pretzel in some sort of submission hold. Thompson was able to free himself, but for several minutes, he could not do anything to Snow. Al Snow took him to the mat with ease, using several different holds to do so. Thompson kicked him in the face from the mat and got up, looking for a sliding dropkick but Snow moved and dropped down into a Crossface. Thompson rolled over into a small package and nearly got the 3 count. During the match, Shelley was at the tripod, filming the whole thing. Thompson got up and kicked Snow several times in the legs and body before striking him in the pectoral area twice. He then hit the ropes, looking for a flying kick but Snow avoided it and picked him up, looking for the "Snowplow". But Thompson escaped and pushed Snow from behind, right into referee Chris Kay. The two traded shots but after a spin kick to the gut, Snow was knocked over the middle rope. Shelley then reached under the ring and pulled out a fire extunguisher, spraying it right in the face of Snow. Snow got up, stumbling around and trying to get his sight but Thompson kicked him in the gut before hitting the absolutely devastating "Total Eclipse" and that was it. Match Time: 7:28 COLE AND VENTURA PROMOTE ERUPTION, LIVE FROM PHILIPS ARENA IN ATLANTA AND A PROMO IS SHOWN FOR THE UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH BETWEEN BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON. #1 Contender for Lightheavyweight Title/Battle Royale Next up was an exciting battle royale featuring all the Lightheavyweights on PrimeTime and an important title shot would go to the winner. The match featured Daivari, Bill Cutting, Super Crazy, Psychosis, Gregory Helms, Chavo Guerrero and Ultimo Dragon. It featured several high flying, acrobatic moves that kept the crowd captivated. Daivari was the first man elminated, being dumped over the top rope by Super Crazy but Bill Cutting disposed of Chavo shortly after that. Gregory Helms and Cutting traded shots as La Familia teamed up against Ultimo Dragon. Helms caught Cutting with a big superkick that knocked him into the ropes but when he charged with a clothesline, Cutting backdropped him out. Cutting then came after Super Crazy and allowed Ultimo to get Psychosis out of the ring. Super Crazy and Cutting went at it, looking for an elimination as Ultimo caught a breather. Cutting dumped Crazy over the top rope but he landed on the apron and got Cutting in a headscissor, flipping him out of the ring. Crazy then tried to "skin the cat" to get back in but Ultimo dropkicked him while he was in the process, knocking him to the floor to win it. Match Time: 20:32 ULTIMO DRAGON CELEBRATED THE WIN AS COLE MENTIONED THAT WE WOULD SEE A WRESTLEMANIA 7 REMATCH BETWEEN HE AND PAUL LONDON. COMMERCIAL BREAK........ RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE..... Jordan Rockwell and Taz vs. Edge and Axl Irvin w/ Traci Brooks Referee Mike Chioda had his hands full here as for much of the match, all 4 men were in the ring, brawling. Taz and Rockwell, teaming together for the first time ever, dominated the match and after Taz caught Axl with a belly to belly suplex, Rockwell hit Edge with the Rock Smasher. Rockwell made the cover but Traci got on the apron, trying to pull her usual distraction manuever by slowly removing a piece of clothing. But Taz and Rockwell looked at each other before each grabbing her by the hair, yanking her into the ring. But Axl came from behind and knocked Rockwell through the ring ropes with a knee to the back, following him out. Taz turned around and Edge went for the spear but Taz avoided it and Edge slammed into the corner. Taz then pulled Edge to the mat with the move he wants outlawed..... the Tazmission and that was it, Edge was choked out again. Match Time: 7:05 But Taz quickly had his celebration cut short by Edge who slammed into him with the spear. Rockwell was then felled by a chair shot from Axl who then put his head on the steel steps and smashed him with the chair again. Rockwell had been busted open and he tried to stand up. But for a third time, Axl slammed the chair over his head. Rockwell fell to the floor with blood streaming down his face as Cole and Ventura could only wonder if this is what Axl meant earlier in the night when he said he could now focus on his original target. OFF AIR.......
