The Cajundome

Lafayette, Louisiana

Attendance: 8,297

October 17, 2006

To date, PrimeTime had never been to the Cajundome but the fans there were 100% set for all the fallout from Eruption.

Bill Cutting vs. Lenny Lane (invitee)

Cutting opened the night against a recognizable wrestler in Lenny Lane. Lane was competitive, but Cutting used his ground and pound lightheavyweight style to take the fight to him and after a double underhook into a tigerbomb, Cutting delivered his H-Bomb to win it.

Johnny Nitro vs. Chris Chetti (invitee)

Just traded over from Rampage, Nitro was looking to make a name for himself quickly on his new show against Chetti, a one time ECW star. Nitro showed off a breakdance move into a legdrop as well as a standing shooting star press. Nitro capped off his impressive performance with a nasty neckbreaker drop to get the 3 count.

The Orient Express w/ Sonny Onoo vs. Chavo Guerrero and Ultimo Dragon

Sonny Onoo's team, the former tag team champions, were in complete control of this match but Chavo and Ultimo held their own and after avoiding a superkick from Tanaka, Chavo caught him with a big DDT. Kato tried to get involved but Ultimo flew in with an amazing flying spin kick to take him out before hitting the Asai moonsault. That all led to Chavo putting Tanaka down with the "Gory Bomb" to score a bit of an upset.

CHAVO AND ULTIMO DRAGON CELEBRATED THEIR WIN, BEING LOUDLY CHEERED AS THE STAGE WAS BEING SET FOR PRIMETIME.

PRIMETIME GOES LIVE

* Due to time constraints, this edition of PrimeTime will be condensed.

PRIMETIME STARTS UP WITH THE THEME MUSIC FROM ERUPTION AND STILL PHOTOS FROM THE EVENT BEGIN TO POP UP. THE FIRST SHOWS BOBBY LASHLEY HOLDING UP THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE HE HAD JUST WON. NEXT IS A GREAT SHOT OF JORDAN ROCKWELL FLYING OFF THE VIDEO WALL STRUCTURE ONTO AXL IRVIN, WHO WAS LAID OUT ON A TABLE. THE PAIN ON THE FACES OF BOTH MEN WAS SHOWN IN THE NEXT SHOT. THE LAST TWO PICTURES SHOW RANDY ORTON AND BATISTA FACE TO FACE FOLLOWED BY ORTON HITTING HIM WITH THE "RKO". THE ANNOUNCEMENT BY HOWARD FINKEL THAT ORTON IS THE NEW UNIVERSAL CHAMPION WAS HEARD.

AFTER FADING OUT, THE SHOT RE-OPENS INSIDE THE CAJUNDOME WHICH IS FILLED WITH LOUD, SCREAMING TWF FANS. MICHAEL COLE AND JESSE VENTURA OPEN THE BROADCAST AND WELCOME THE VIEWING AUDIENCE JUST AS "THE TIME IS NOW" COMES ON AND JOHN CENA EMERGES TO AN IMPRESSIVE RESPONSE.

John Cena grabs a microphone and makes mention of the trade that recently brought him to PrimeTime. He says he is glad to be on the show that was once home to him and that he will make the fans forget all about Batista. But just as Cena starts to get in a groove and really has the crowd on his side, Shane Thompson and Alex Shelley come out and Shelley has the camera rolling.

Thompson says that he and Shelley have worked hard to get hardcore wrestling off of PrimeTime and he'll be damned if a "wannabe thug that can't wrestle" is going to get to the top. Cena responds by offering Thompson a chance to knock him down a few notches in the ring, later tonight, but Shelley chimes in saying that if Cena wants a match, it'll be against him. Laughing, Cena accepts that challenge. "The Time is Now" hits again and Cena stares down the two men as the shot goes to commercial.

Kevin Thorn w/ Ariel vs. Chris Platoon

After his impressive debut at Eruption, Kevin Thorn followed it up with another dominating performance. Platoon gave him a bit of a fight, but never did get Thorn off his feet. Thorn caught a charging Platoon with a nasty kick to the face before putting him up on the top ring rope to deliver a stunner-like neckbreaker that the crowd couldn't believe. Thorn finished Platoon off with his crucifix powerbomb and he and Ariel celebrated the win the way only they can.

BACKSTAGE AREA.......

CAMERAS SHOW RANDY ORTON WALKING VERY POMPOUSLY DOWN THE HALL WITH THE UNIVERSAL TITLE OVER HIS SHOULDER WHEN CM PUNK COMES UP.

CM Punk: "You did it man, someone finally beat Batista, well done".

Randy Orton: "Ws it ever in question? I mean seriously, did you really think that Batista was going to beat me"?

Punk: "Well, he......

Orton: "Oh don't even give me that he had my number B.S.".

Punk: "Look man, the reason I came up to you is to let you know that someday...... I'd love to have a shot at that".

PUNK POINTS AT THE BELT.

Orton: "I hate to be the one to tell you this, well, no I don't, but you're not in my league man".

ORTON WALKS AWAY AND PUNK JUST SHAKES HIS HEAD.

Finlay vs. Colt Cabana (invitee)

Just traded to PrimeTime, Finlay brought his shillelagh to the ring to face one of the more well known indy wrestlers, Colt Cabana. Finlay looked very good as he aggressively took it to Cabana. After a kick right to the face, he picked him up for a sidewalk slam before hitting the ropes and driving a knee into Cabana's face. Finlay finished him off in about 4 and a half minutes with his "Celtic Cross". But after the match, Finlay grabbed his shillelagh, smacking Cabana in the head with it to draw even more boos than he was already hearing. Finlay however left with a big smile on his face.

BACKSTAGE.......

WITH TRACI BROOKS LOOKING ON, THE TWF TRAINER IS WITH AXL IRVIN, WHO HAS JUST HANDED HIM A CLIPBOARD.

Axl Irvin: "That's my release form.... sign it".

Trainer: "Well, I can't medically hold you back from competition, but my advice would be........

Axl (interrupting): "Sign it"!

THE TRAINER TAKES A PEN OUT OF HIS SHIRT POCKET AND SIGNS THE FORM BEFORE HANDING IT BACK TO AXL IN FRUSTRATION AND WALKING AWAY.

Traci: "You sure about this Axe"?

Axl Irvin: "Yes, damn sure. Things between Jordan Rockwell and me are far from over. He thinks he put me out at Eruption, but he's got another thing comin'".

Paul London and Super Crazy vs. Daivari and Psychosis

The brand new Lightheavyweight champion Daivari teamed up with Psychosis, who seems to have broken all ties with Super Crazy after their falling out at Eruption. Super Crazy started the match pleading with his former partner in Spanish. But Psychosis slapped him across the face and the fight was on. Crazy and Psychosis traded shots but after ducking a clothesline, Crazy caught him with a jumping calf kick. Later in the match, Crazy tagged in London and they each went to opposite corners. Crazy came off with a missile dropkick but Psychosis moved and then ran up the turnbuckle London was on and brought him off with an incredible frankensteiner. Psychosis then made his way to his corner and tagged in Daivari who went to the top rope and came off with a flying legdrop to pin London once again.

Match Time: 9:00

After the match, Psychosis, wielding a steel chair, blasted his former partner Super Crazy over the head, busting him open and knocking him to the mat.

A VERY DARK HOUSE IS SHOWN AND A PAIR OF FEET ARE SHOWN WALKING ACROSS AN OLD WOODEN FLOOR. THE FLOOR CREEKS WITH EACH STEP AND THERE IS A VERY EERIE FEELING IN THE HOUSE. A CLOSET DOOR IS SHOWN AND THE DOORKNOB IS SHAKING AS IT SEEMS SOMETHING IS INSIDE. SLOWLY, A TREMBLING HAND REACHES TOWARD THE KNOB AND SLOWLY OPENS THE DOOR. A PAIR OF GLOWING EYES CAN BE SEEN AND AN EVIL, HECKLING LAUGH IS HEARD. THE DOOR IS SLAMMED SHUT AND THE PERSON TAKES OFF RUNNING THE OTHER WAY AS THE LAUGH CONTINUES.

"I'm the Boogeyman..... and I'm comin' to getcha...... again"!

The Brood vs. The Highlanders

This was a big match in the tag team division as The Highlanders met the team that won the Blood Brothers Invitational at Eruption- The Brood. This one was pretty much a brawl the whole way through and there was never any semblance of a tag team match. After knocking Gangrel out of the ring, the Highlanders got Johnny Swinger up for the "Scot Drop" but the lights went out. Several strange noises were heard and when they came back on, Rory was covered in a red, liquid substance. Robbie got down to try and figure out what happened to his cousin when Gangrel and Swinger each grabbed him around the head and hit a devastating double Impaler DDT before Gangrel covered him for the pin.

Match Time: 11:15

BACKSTAGE........

CAMERAS CATCH A MOMENT BETWEEN BOBBY LASHLEY AND CM PUNK. LASHLEY IS HOLDING THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE AND PUNK IS CHECKING IT OUT.

CM Punk: "Yeah man, that was great. Congrats on winning this thing".

JUST THEN, CHAOS WOLF COMES UP AND STRANGELY, HE HAD EDDIE SAINT JAMES AND VLAD THE IMPALER WITH HIM.

Chaos Wolf: "Punk!

CM PUNK TURNS AROUND.

You telling Lashley here about how you got lucky at Eruption"?

PUNK LOOKS AT WOLF AND THEN THE OTHER TWO.

Punk: "It's not Halloween is it? Look guys, I don't have any candy to pass out".

LASHLEY LAUGHS

Chaos Wolf: "Oh, now you're a comedian too? Tell ya what, Punk, you give me another shot at you tonight and I prove to the world that what happened at Eruption was a damn fluke"!

Bobby Lashley: "No, I got a better idea! How 'bout the two of us take on you and those two freaks- tonight"!

Chaos Wolf: "You sre about that? You got it"!

CHAOS WOLF, SAINT JAMES AND VLAD WALK AWAY.

Punk: "Us..... against them"?

Lashley: "Yeah, we got this".

“COME ON” BY WATERPROOF BLONDE HITS AS THE BLOOD BROTHERS MARCH TO THE RING IN THEIR FULL ATTIRE OF BLACK TRENCH COATS COMPLETED WITH THEIR PATENTED BLACK STAFFS. SEAN O’HAIRE IS CARRYING WHAT LOOKS TO BE AN OLD DUSTY CARDBOARD BOX AS THEY ARE SHOWERED IN BOOS AND THEY MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE RING. THERE IS A BLACK GARBAGE CAN IN THE RING THAT HAS THE BLOOD BROTHERS SYMBOL ON IT.

Dustin Kash: "Just like we said, the Blood Brothers would walk out of Atlanta tag team champions, and that we did. But all week we’ve been hearing people bitching and crying, saying “What if Bahamut and Strife had been in the invitational, and what if they won it and then went on to face us, and then what if they indeed defeated us?” Well news flash you damn pests, they didn’t! Fact of the matter is, they sustained some unfortunate injuries and were unable to compete"!

Sean O’Haire: "Unfortunately, Mr. Shane O’ Mac doesn’t look at things the same way as we do and is now wrongfully accusing us of being the ones who beat down Bah and Strife and took them out of the match"!

Dustin Kash: "Well just like we said at Eruption, as long as we are champs, those two will never get a shot at us. It’s not our problem that they had an accident, and we don’t give a damn! Nonetheless, you guys were once a great tag team, no doubt about it, but all that is over, you guys are going to pass on your torch. And if our paths happen to cross in the squared circle, we plan on proving that you guys are nothing more than just another deposit to the blood bank"!

SEAN O’HAIRE PULLS OUT A MATCH AND LIGHTS THE GARBAGE CAN. HE THEN OPENS THE CARDBOARD BOX TO REVEAL SOME DUSTY OLD TAPES.

Dustin Kash: "What we have here are several old tapes, footage of Bahamut and Strife"!

Sean O’Haire: "What have we here? This is the tape where Bahamut and Strife first won the tag team titles, at Doomsday 2001".

SEAN O’HAIRE THROWS THE TAPE IN THE FLAMING GARBAGE CAN.

Dustin Kash: "And what’s this? This is when they won the titles again at Eruption 2004… boy was that a great title reign"!

DUSTIN KASH THROWS IT IN THE FLAMING GARBAGE CAN.

Sean O’Haire: "How bout this? This is the tape where.......

THEY ARE CUT OFF WHEN “BOMBSHELL” BY POWERMAN 5000 HITS AND STRIFE AND BAHAMUT, ALL BANDAGED UP, RUN TO THE RING TO AN AMAZING POP. THE TWO TEAMS TRADE SHOTS, KASH ON BAHAMUT AND O’HAIRE ON STRIFE. KASH KNOCKS BAHAMUT DOWN WITH A VERY NICE SUPERKICK AND THEN TAKES HIS STAFF AND CRACKS IT OFF THE SKULL OF BAHAMUT. HOWEVER, WHEN HE TURNS AROUND, STRIFE PUTS HIM DOWN WITH A SPEAR-LIKE TAKEDOWN. O’HAIRE THEN GRABBED ONTO ONE OF THE STAFFS AND NEARLY BROKE IT IN HALF OFF THE BACK OF STRIFE, BEFORE SLIDING OUT OF THE RING, PULLING KASH OUT WITH HIM AND HOLDING HIM UP AS THE TWO MARCHED OUT OF THE ARENA TO SOME LOUD BOOS.

STRIFE AND BAHAMUT GOT TO THEIR FEET, STARING BACK AS O'HAIRE AND KASH DISAPPEARED INTO THE BACKSTAGE AREA AS THE SHOT FADED OUT.

3 on 2 Handicap Match

Chaos Wolf, Eddie Saint James and Vlad the Impaler w/ Chae, Monica and James Mitchell vs. Bobby Lashley and CM Punk

With the managers at ringside, Michael Cole noted that it was basically 6 on 2. But even with those odds, Punk and Lashley seemed the stronger team. Punk used his agility, quickness and pure ability to break each man on the other team down before giving way to the strength and power of the new Intercontinental champion Lashley. Lashley drilled The Saint with a spear and had him beat but Vlad came in to break it up. Lashley got up and caught a charging Vlad, planting him with a spinebuster. Chaos Wolf tried to get involved but Punk took him out with a springboard clothesline from the apron. Lashley then made the tag to Punk who smacked Saint James with a backhand to each side of the head before blasting him with a roundhouse kick to the head. James Mitchell had referee Mike Enos distracted and Chae got on the apron and tried to slap CM Punk. But he caught her arm and piefaced her to the floor. But Monica came from the other side, kicking Punk with an upward swing of her foot right in the face. Punk then fell into the clutches of Vlad who put him down with a reverse DDT drop and covered him for the pin, even though he wasn't even the legal man in the match.

Match Time: 7:22

BACKSTAGE.......

MARIA IS STANDING BY WITH JOHNNY NITRO WHO IS WEARING SHADES AND A FUR COAT.

Maria: "Johnny Nitro, I was just wondering if I could get your thoughts on being part of PrimeTime now".

Johnny Nitro: "Oh really? Did you happen to see Uprising tonight? Where I destroyed some idiot who this crowd was so behind? Ya see, whether the people like me or not, they can't deny my talent and soon, soon everyone will realize that I am the most physically gifted in ring competitor there is. Over on Rampage, I was bogged down, held back by some lousy tag team partner. But here on PrimeTime, things are gonna be different. So whether it be Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Jordan Rockwell, I don't care. I will become the face of this show".

NITRO WALKS AWAY AS MARIA JUST LOOKS ON.

Jordan Rockwell vs. Chris Masters

Both Cole and Ventura wondered if Rockwell would be able to compete so soon after Eruption. But Rockwell didn't seem bothered at all and he took the fight to Masters. After delivering a stiff DDT, Rockwell set him up for the Rock Smasher but Masters elbowed his way out of his grasp. Masters then went for the Masterlock but before he could lock his hands, Rockwell was free and that led to the Rock Smasher. He may've had him beat but he became distracted by the presence of Traci Brooks who had come down to ringside. Rockwell asked referee Charles Robinson to take care of her when out from the other side through the crowd came Axl Irvin, carrying a crowbar! He got on the apron trying to come in but Rockwell knocked him to the floor with a right hand. However, when he turned back, Masters was waiting with a double sledge right to the mouth, the same move that made Ivan Putski famous and he made the quick cover for the huge upset.

Match Time: 7:09

BEFORE ROCKWELL COULD EVEN GET UP, AXL WAS IN THE RING ATTACKING HIM. AXL KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING, GOING AFTER ROCKWELL's OFT INJURED LEFT KNEE. AXL VICIOUSLY ATTACKED THE KNEE WITH THE CROWBAR AS TRACI LOOKED ON IN APPROVAL. FINALLY, OFFICIALS RAN OUT FROM THE BACK AND AXL LEFT THE RING, A PSYCHOTIC LOOK IN HIS EYES. ROCKWELL WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN AND COULD BE HEARD YELLING IN ANGST AS THE SHOT FADED OUT WITH EMTs AND THE TRAINER HITTING THE RING.

COMMERCIAL BREAK.........

RETURN FROM BREAK...... RINGSIDE.....

PRIMETIME RETURNS AND RANDY ORTON IS IN THE RING IN AN EXPENSIVE LOOKING SUIT WITH THE UNIVERSAL TITLE IN TOW. GOLD PYRO IS RAINING DOWN ON THE RING FROM A FOUNTAIN SYSTEM AND THE CROWD IS MOSTLY BOOING.

Orton begins by gloating about his victory over Batista at Eruption, saying he proved Batista was not unbeatable and says he will forever be remembered as the man who "caged the animal". Orton goes on to say that it's time that the entire show, PrimeTime, be centered around him and claims that he shouldn't have to defend the Universal title for the remainder of 2006 because that is how long it will take for a contender to emerge that is worthy of facing him. Orton continues by saying that no one on PrimeTime is "in his league". But he is interrupted by a familiar entrance theme that brings the crowd to their feet.

Taz comes out and gets right in Orton's face saying that he has yet to be defeated on PrimeTime and that he has proven that what he did in the GSE was no fluke. Taz says that he could "choke out" Orton in a matter of seconds. Orton disagrees and Taz dares him to put the title on the line, saying he'll end his reign just as fast as it started. Orton says he'll give Taz a title shot, but it will be on his terms when it happens. Orton then leaves the ring and Taz's music, "Before I Forget" plays as the crowd loves what they're seeing.

BACKSTAGE.......

CAMERAS SHOW JORDAN ROCKWELL BEING HELPED INTO THE TRAINER's ROOM BY SEVERAL EMTs. MARIA TRIES TO GET A WORD WITH THE TRAINER.

Maria: "Is there any word on how serious Jordan Rockwell's knee injury is"?

Trainer: "It's banged up pretty bad. We've gotta look at it and examine it a little more in here, but he may have reaggravated the old injury that caused the surgery. Anyway, I better get in there to take a look".

THE TRAINER GOES INTO THE ROOM AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING.

Alex Shelley w/ Shane Thompson vs. John Cena

November 8, 2002: That was the last time John Cena had a match on PrimeTime. He came into this one ready to start his second PrimeTime stint on a winning note and Shelley seemed like he was no match for him. Cena fought off Shelley's attempts to get him to the mat and hit all his signature moves including his swinging side suplex, the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and his flying shoulder block. With Shelley face down on the mat, Cena tried to get him in the STFU, his version of the STF, but Shelley was able to grab the ropes. Cena pulled Shelley up and whipped him to the corner but posted his left shoulder when Shelley moved. Shelley looked to capitalize, hitting a reverse tornado DDT to get a 2 count. He kept the pressure on Cena, working on his left shoulder, repeatedly throwing it down on the top ring rope. Shelley felt he had Cena in enough trouble and went to the top rope, flying off with a crossbody. But Cena showed amazing strength, catching him in the air and throwing him up onto his shoulders. Thompson got up on the apron, trying to do whatever he could to stop the "F-U" but Cena swung Shelley around, using the feet of his opponent to knock his own partner off the apron. But Shelley was also able to slip off his shoulders and roll Cena up. With plenty of leverage, Shelley reached his right hand out, grabbing Thompson's hand for even more leverage and referee Mike Chioda made the 3 count for a major upset.

Match Time: 9:41

AFTER THE MATCH, CENA TRIED TO TELL CHIODA WHAT HAPPENED AND THOMPSON WAS FILMING THE ACTION. BUT JOHNNY HAZARD RAN OUT AND HIT BOTH SHELLEY AND THOMPSON FROM BEHIND. AFTER WHIPPING THOMPSON HARD INTO THE STEEL RING STEPS, HAZARD ROLLED SHELLEY INTO THE RING AND CENA SENT THE FANS HOME ON A HIGH NOTE, PUTTING HIM DOWN WITH THE "F-U".

"THE TIME IS NOW" HIT AND CENA SLAPPED HANDS WITH HAZARD AS THE SHOT FADED OUT.

OFF AIR........
