June 8, 2007
It was a warm Summer night in Illinois as the stars of PrimeTime came to the Allstate Arena, a place they had been in February. That show featured Randy Orton defending the Universal title in a Ladder match, and as fate would have it, this show had him defending the same title once again. Kevin Thorn and Gangrel w/ Ariel vs. Paul London and Brian Kendrick London and Kendrick had not forgotten about Gangrel's involvement in the match on the last edition of Uprising between Thorn and Kendrick, and their high flying abilities had them all over the strange duo. After a double dropsault on Gangrel, London went to the top rope, but Thorn shoved him to the floor. As the referee had his back to Ariel, she grabbed Thorn's walking stick and hit Kendrick in the head with it. Thorn then got the tag and put Kendrick away with the "Dark Kiss", a move which is quickly becoming one of the most devastating in all of wrestling, to get the win. Chris Platoon vs. Prince Nana (invitee) Prince Nana, a native of Ghana, came into this match and got the crowd behind him as he was very excited about his chances. But Platoon didn't let him get out of the gate as he attacked him before the bell and viciously brought the fight to him. After a flying knee off an irish whip, Platoon used the "Last Chance" for the win. Rene Dupree w/ Dawn Marie vs. Super Crazy Uprising's main event was a battle of France and Mexico, and it looked like Crazy had Dupree well scouted. After a big dropkick, Crazy shot him to the corner and hit a flying wheel kick which really rattled the 'French Phenom'. Crazy then went for an irish whip but Dupree reversed it, only to drop his head too soon. Crazy used a sunset flip and turned Dupree over but Dupree rolled through it and rolled Crazy up, grabbing a handful of tights to steal the win. Dawn Marie and Rene Dupree left in victory while Super Crazy tried to explain to the referee that he had the tights, to no avail. The crowd loudly booed as the shot faded out. PRIMETIME GOES LIVE
PRIMETIME STARTS WITH IT's SUPERSTAR-LADEN, BLACK AND WHITE OPENING MONTAGE BEFORE "RAP SUPERSTAR" BEGINS TO PLAY. THE ALLSTATE ARENA IS THEN SHOWN AND THE NOISE LEVEL IS VERY HIGH AS THE CAMERA PANS AROUND THE STANDS WHILE PYRO EXPLODES OFF THE PRIMETIME SET. Michael Cole: "Good evening and welcome to TWF PrimeTime from the Allstate Arena! I'm Michael Cole alongside John Bradshaw Layfield"! "METALINGUS" BY ALTER BRIDGE COMES ON AND OUT STEPS EDGE TO SOME TREMENDOUS HEAT. HE HAS THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE AROUND HIS WAIST. JBL: "And what better way to start this night than with the Rated R superstar"?! FINLAY's MUSIC COMES ON AND HE COMES OUT TO THE RING CARRYING HIS SHILLELAGH. HE TOO, IS LOUDLY BOOED. Cole: "Edge will team with the fighting Irishman, Finlay to face a couple guys who they seem to have some sudden problems with". THE FANS ALL COME TO THEIR FEET AS "THIS FIRE BURNS" BY KILLSWITCH ENGAGE STARTS UP AND CM PUNK STEPS OUT TO A MAJOR OVATION. JBL: "They do have sudden problems but I firmly believe that they will take care of those tonight"! Cole: "The fans are on their feet for Chicago's own, CM Punk"! "DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS" BY DISTURBED COMES ON AND HIGH OCTANE STEPS OUT TO A LOUD OVATION AS WELL. JBL: "They can cheer these two all they want, Michael, they're in there with two of the best that PrimeTime has to offer in Edge and Finlay"! Cole: "Well on the last PrimeTime, it seemed that Punk and High Octane got the best of them as Edge offered an open challenge to anyone in the back to come out and face him for an Intercontinental title shot and out comes Punk.... only to see Edge run away with his tail between his legs once Punk started to get the best of him"! JBL: "I'd like to see you say that to Edge's face, Michael, and don't even bring up what High Octane had the nerve to do to Finlay.... he's gonna pay for that tonight"! Edge and Finlay vs. CM Punk and "High Octane" Damion West The bell sounded to start the match and it was Finlay starting things off with CM Punk, two men who were no strangers to one another. They locked up and Punk surprised Finlay with a quick arm drag. This seemed to take the veteran off his game as Finlay angrily charged him but ran right into a drop toe hold. After a basement dropkick, Punk was rolling. He then hit the ropes but Edge clubbed him in the back of the head. Punk turned and threw a right hand at Edge that missed but when he turned around, Finlay nailed him with a double thrust to the throat. After putting the boots to Punk, Finlay made the tag to Edge who was now all too eager to get in there with Punk. He pulled Punk to his feet and blasted him with some stiff right hands in the corner before sending him to the other side with such velocity that Punk hit the corner and just fell face first to the mat. Edge had some disparaging words for High Octane as he made the tag back to Finlay. They then pulled Punk to his feet and whipped him to the ropes but Punk ducked a double clothesline and then took Edge out with a jumping enziguri before knocking Finlay down with a back footsweep all in the same motion, an amazing move. This allowed Punk to tag out and West came in taking on both Edge and Finlay. After a dropkick knocked the Intercontinental Champion out of the ring, High Octane hit the ropes and caught Finlay with a flying forearm. Finlay quickly got to his feet, stumbling around, but High Octane caught him with the "Head on Collision", falling into the cover but Edge came in at 2 and a half to break it up. This drew Punk into the ring and all 4 men were going at it. High Octane and Punk together took it to Edge until Finlay came from behind with a shot to the back of the head of West. He then picked Punk up for a slam but Punk slipped off and took Finlay down with a reverse DDT. Punk then saw an opening and with Edge still recovering in the corner, he flew in with a high knee right to the jaw. Punk then grabbed Edge for a bulldog, but Edge freed himself and slipped under the bottom rope. Referee Charles Robinson finally stepped in and forced Punk to his corner but as he was doing this, Edge grabbed Finlay's shillelagh and smashed High Octane over the head with it. Finlay then picked up the pieces, lifting High Octane up for the "Celtic Cross" and covering him for the win. Match Time: 8:33 JBL: "Ha ha, I told you High Octane would pay for what he did last week, Michael, that was great"! Cole: "Yeah, all it took was a shillelagh to the head, a lot to be proud of there"! FINLAY's MUSIC PLAYED AND HE AND EDGE LEFT IN VICTORY AS THE CROWD BOOED. IN THE RING, PUNK TRIED TO HELP HIGH OCTANE TO HIS FEET. JBL: "This is a shining example of why you don't mess with someone like Finlay and Edge"! Cole: "Well don't go away folks, plenty of action still ahead, including John Cena trying to regain the Universal title from Randy Orton"! COMMERCIAL BREAK....... A COMMERCIAL FOR BUD LIGHT IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR CITI BANK. RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE AREA.... WHEN PRIMETIME RETURNS, MARIA IS SHOWN IN THE BACK WITH AXL IRVIN AND TRACI BROOKS. Maria: "Axl, tonight you face Bobby Lashley, who was able to defeat you on the last PrimeTime. Do you expect things to be different tonight"? Axl Irvin: "No, Maria, I expect to go out there and lose again. Are you serious?! Of course things will be different tonight, in fact, if Lashley beats me again tonight...... I'll quit this business"! AXL IRVIN STORMS OFF AND EVEN TRACI SEEMS CAUGHT OFF GUARD BY HIS COMMENTS. BACK AT RINGSIDE, A JAPANESE TUNE HITS AND A MAN IN A BLACK CAT-LIKE MASK TROTS OUT TO THE RING. Cole: "Surprising comments there by Axl Irvin, John". JBL: "Yeah, I'm a big fan of Axl Irvin and what he's been able to do here in the TWF, but he may've just made a big mistake". Cole: "A new superstar here in the TWF who we know little about is this guy, known only as the Black Tiger". JBL: "Well I'm interested to see what he can do because anybody who has ever followed wrestling in Japan knows that the Black Tiger was Eddie Guerrero, so this whoever this guy is has some big shoes to fill wearing that mask and that outfit out here". Cole: "That's an understatement". The Black Tiger vs. Jason Cross (invitee) Jason Cross, a one time mFw/SlaughterHouse competitor, locked up with the Black Tiger and took him to the mat with an armdrag. He followed that up with a big hip toss before shooting the Black Tiger to the ropes but the Tiger exploded off them with a flying heel kick. After a corkscrew legdrop, the Black Tiger drilled Cross with a shining wizard, covering him for a 2 count. Black Tiger pulled Cross up and went for an irish whip but Cross reversed it right into what he thought would be a sitdown powerbomb but on the way down, the Tiger incredibly countered with a headscissor takedown. He then picked Cross up and drove him into the mat with a nasty brainbuster. From there, the Black Tiger went to the top rope and came off with a beautiful move, known in most circles as the Phoenix Splash and he landed right into the cover to get the 3 count. Match Time: 3:27 Cole: "Wow, now that was impressive"! JBL: "I said this guy had some big shoes to fill and he started to fill them! We need to see more of this guy on PrimeTime"! Cole: "Well with Lightheavyweight action exclusive to PrimeTime, I have a feeling we will"! BACKSTAGE....... A BRAWL HAS BROKEN OUT BACKSTAGE THAT HAS FORCED JUST ABOUT EVERY TWF OFFICIAL AND THE HIGHLANDERS AS WELL AS STRIFE AND BAHAMUT TO BREAK IT UP BETWEEN UMAGA AND TAZ. FINALLY, THE TWO MEN ARE SEPERATED AND TAKEN OFF IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. "BACK IN BLACK" BY AC/DC HITS AND JORDAN ROCKWELL COMES OUT TO A HUGE RESPONSE. HE WAITS AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP AS SECONDS LATER, "SEXY BOY" STARTS UP AND SHAWN MICHAELS COMES OUT AND THE CROWD IS GOING WILD. Cole: "Well before we get to this next match, what do you think started that altercation, John"? JBL: "Could've been a lot of things, but I'm impressed that it didn't take one of our military units to come in and pull those guys apart"! Cole: "Many fans have been looking forward to this, after a couple great battles against each other, Shawn Michaels and Jordan Rockwell, two of the biggest names in TWF history, have joined forces and can you imagine how good of a team this can be, John"? JBL: "They could be great, no doubt about it, but I know tag team wrestling as good as anyone and they have to gel together rather than relying on their individual accomplishments! This first match will be very important for them". DEUCE AND DOMINO's 1950's TUNE PLAYS AND A BEAUTIFUL PINK 1967 CHEVY CHEVELLE PULLS OUT FROM THE BACK, BUT CHERRY IS THE ONLY ONE INSIDE, DRIVING THE CAR. Cole: "Wait a minute..... there's Cherry, where's Deuce and Domino"?! JBL: "There they are right there"! AS SOON AS JBL SAYS THAT, A CAMERA PICKS UP DEUCE AND DOMINO COMING OUT OF THE CROWD. DOMINO HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE A TIRE IRON AND THEY ATTACK ROCKWELL AND MICHAELS FROM BEHIND. DOMINO SMASHES ROCKWELL WITH THE TIRE IRON IN THE BACK OF THE LEFT KNEE AND HE CRUMPLES TO THE MAT. DOMINO THEN COMES OVER AND HELPS DEUCE WITH MICHAELS AND THEY LIFT HIM UP, DUMPING HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE WITH A DOUBLE HIP TOSS. MICHAELS LANDS ON THE FLOOR, BACK FIRST, WITH PLENTY OF IMPACT. DOMINO THEN HOLDS ROCKWELL UP BY HIS HEAD AS DEUCE HITS THE ROPES AND KICKS HIM RIGHT IN THE FACE. Cole: "This was a setup all along! Deuce and Domino asked for this match tonight, and they knew what they were doing all along"! JBL: "They have outsmarted two of the legends in this business, Michael! What a huge statement by Deuce and Domino"! DEUCE AND DOMINO LEAVE THE RING AND ACCEPT CONGRATULATIONS FROM CHERRY AS THE CROWD POURS THE BOOS ON THEM. IN THE RING, ROCKWELL IS STILL DOWN AND MICHAELS IS BARELY MOVING ON THE FLOOR. Cole: "Who knows what kind of damage this attack has done... Domino had a tire iron"! JBL: "This team of Rockwell and the Heartbreak Kid may be done before it even gets off the ground". BACKSTAGE...... THE FOUR GIRLS THAT MAKE UP THE HAREM ARE SHOWN LAUGHING AND CARRYING ON WHEN PAUL HEYMAN WALKS UP. HEYMAN HAS TO CLEAR HIS THROAT JUST TO GET THEIR ATTENTION. Paul Heyman: "Excuse me ladies, I just wanted to come by and make sure you all are ready for what is coming up next. Ya know, when Joe Corey teaches Johnny Hazard the meaning of extreme". ONE OF THE LADIES, A PRETTY BRUNETTE, STEPS FORWARD. Harem Girl: "Oh trust me, Johnny already knows extreme". HEYMAN GETS A CHUCKLE AND JUST WALKS OFF AS THE SHOT FADES OUT. COMMERCIAL BREAK....... A COMMERCIAL FOR COMCAST DIGITAL VOICE IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR THE U.S. ARMY. RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE..... WHEN PRIMETIME RETURNS, THE FANS ARE LOUDLY CHEERING AS JOHNNY HAZARD AND THE HAREM ARE IN THE RING DANCING AROUND WHILE "NEW WORLD DISORDER" BY BIOHAZARD PLAYS. JBL: "I love these Harem girls, Michael, I could watch this all night"! THE LIGHTS DIM AND THE PARTY IN THE RING STOPS AS "MISERIA CANTARE" BY AFI COMES ON AND THE ECW ENTRANCE IS SHOWN IN THE STANDS. BOOS FILL THE ALLSTATE ARENA AS JOE COREY STEPS OUT ALONG WITH PAUL HEYMAN. Cole: "Yeah, you say that every time they're out here, but it's time to get serious, here comes the ECW champion"! JBL: "The time for fun and games is over, Michael! Joe Corey is coming to the ring and you heard what Paul Heyman said earlier.... Johnny Hazard is going to learn the meaning of extreme tonight"! Cole: "Yeah, and I believe what that girl from the Harem told Heyman, Hazard already knows extreme and if Corey is looking past him at all, he's gonna pay for it"! JBL: "Joe Corey is one of the guys at the top of the food chain, Michael and that is the place where Johnny Hazard wants to get. Sure, he can tell jokes and dance around with gorgeous women, but can he compete with the best this business has to offer? Tonight is his chance to show the world what he is capable of". Non-Title Match Johnny Hazard w/ The Harem vs. ECW Champion: "The Show" Joe Corey w/ Paul Heyman The two men locked up as the bell sounded and Corey easily backed Hazard into the corner. Referee Mickey Henson stepped in to get a break, but Corey tried to throw a cheap shot and Hazard blocked it, coming back with 2 right hands of his own. Hazard then shot Corey to the corner and followed in with a clothesline before pulling him in for a big suplex. Hazard then went into a side headlock which was actually close to being a crossface but Corey got loose and rolled out of the ring. Corey and Heyman tried to regroup when the Harem came over, trying to distract them. Heyman very belligerently yelled at the women to get away, but Hazard came from behind with a shot to the back of the head on Corey before pushing him face first into the steel post. He then rolled him into the ring and went to the top rope. The Harem was able to quell any ideas Heyman had of getting involved. Hazard then flew off with an awkward dive, but Corey moved out of the way. Corey then loaded his boot and kicked Hazard right in the face before choking him with his right hand, using as much of Henson's 5 count that he could. Corey then pulled Hazard up and whipped him to the ropes for a kick to the gut before hitting the ropes himself for a boot to the side of the head. Corey had Hazard in a lot of trouble and he pulled him to the corner where he began to climb the turnbuckle. It looked like Corey wanted to use a version of Undertaker's walk roping jumping forearm, commonly known as "Old School", but Hazard saw it coming a mile away and yanked Corey from the ropes. Hazard then grabbed him and had him set up for the "Toxic Drop" but Corey countered it and pulled Hazard in for the "Showstopper". But Hazard was able to drop to his knees and flip over into a cover for the 1......2........, but Corey was up. Hazard beat Corey to the next punch and then scored with a swinging neckbreaker. Heyman could see the match slipping away and he tried to get into the ring. But the Harem was right there to stop him, coming in the ring with them. But as Henson tried to stop the melee between Heyman and the 4 women, Corey slipped under the bottom rope and grabbed his title before bringing it in and smashing Hazard in the head with it. Corey tossed the belt aside and got Henson's attention who turned to make the 3 count. Match Time: 5:45 Cole: "Since when did this become an extreme rules match?! Corey just used the ECW title to knock Hazard's lights out"! JBL: "It became extreme rules when the referee was busy messing with Heyman and those girls! Corey just capatalized on an oppurtunity and that's why he is a champion"! Cole: "Well folks, on the last edition of PrimeTime, we saw a match that went way beyond extreme. Let's go back and take a look at the Loser Leaves PrimeTime I Quit match between Chaos Wolf and Vlad the Impaler"! A HIGHLIGHT PACKAGE IS SHOWN OF THE LOSER LEAVES PRIMETIME I QUIT MATCH BETWEEN CHAOS WOLF AND VLAD THE IMPALER AND ENDS WITH CHAOS WOLF USING A STUN GUN TO FINALLY GET VLAD TO QUIT. Cole: "Now I'd say it's safe to say that neither one of those men will ever be the same, but we can report that Chaos Wolf sustained some ligament damage in his left knee and he will miss the next two to three months of TWF action". JBL: "Well I have known Chaos Wolf a long time and he has a lot to look forward to after that performance. I expect him to come back better than ever"! BACKSTAGE...... MARIA IS SEEN IN THE BACK STANDING BY WITH THE BLOOD BROTHERS WHO ARE WEARING ECW T-SHIRTS UNDERNEATH THEIR BLACK TRENCH COATS.
Maria: "On the last PrimeTime, you two became the newest members of ECW".
Dustin Kash: "Gee, aren't you quite the observer. Yes, yes we did, and do you know why? Because ECW is the only thing left in the TWF that stands for the same thing the Blood Brothers do. They stand for wanting something, and getting it. We don't play games… we fight, and we win. We get what we want, and do you know why? Because no one can stop us! Just ask Dr. James Andrews who is currently treating Batista's 5 cracked vertebrae in his spine, the injury that presumably ended his career, which was handed to him by ECW. Joe Corey wanted the ECW title, and he got it! JJ Ramplin wanted the King of Cable title, and he got it! The Blood Brothers wanted to continue their trek to taking over PrimeTime, and with ECW on our side, we're about to get it". KASH AND SEAN O'HAIRE WALK OFF CAMERA AS THE SHOT IS SENT BACK TO RINGSIDE. GREGORY HELMS' MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT, HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THE RING. Cole: "Back to the action here on PrimeTime, and if you ask me, the Blood Brothers have gotten cockier than ever with their inclusion in ECW". JBL: "Why wouldn't they be? This is the best tag team the entire TWF has to offer, and Joe Corey recognized that by giving them a spot in what is quickly becoming the most elite fraternity the TWF has ever seen". THE FANS RISE OUT OF THEIR SEATS AS RIC FLAIR's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT IN A RED ROBE, A RIC FLAIR TRADEMARK, STRUTTING HIS WAY DOWN THE RAMP AND TO THE RING. Cole: "Well here is the man responsible for John Cena getting his title rematch with Randy Orton tonight after he won a match with PJ Cash in impressive fashion"! JBL: "But let's not annoint Flair king just yet, Michael. I look at this as a huge oppurtunity for Gregory Helms, who could put his name smack dab in the center of the PrimeTime map with a win here tonight"! Gregory Helms vs. Ric Flair Helms tried to throw Flair off his game by trash talking him, but Flair gave it right back. Helms shoved Flair, but the Nature Boy came back with 3 blistering knifedge chops before sending him to the ropes for a right hand. Flair went for another irish whip, but Helms reversed it and used a backbody drop. Flair landed hard on his left side and Helms went right to work from there. But he missed with a shining wizard and after sneaking in a low blow that referee Mike Enos never saw, Flair tried for the figure four. But Helms had it scouted, using his free foot to push Flair off. Helms then caught Flair with a jumping clothesline that knocked him to the mat. Trying to steal a page out of Flair's book, Helms went for his signature hold, the figure four. But Flair grabbed Helms as he was trying to turn it, putting him right into a cover with an inside cradle and he got the 3 count! Match Time: 4:03 Cole: "He got him! What a counter by the ageless Ric Flair"! JBL: "Flair's done it again and I gotta admit, that was great". JUST THEN, "DEFY YOU" BY OFFSPRING COMES ON AND PJ CASH COMES OUT IN A BLACK ARMANI SUIT, CARRYING A MICROPHONE AND HE SEEMS TO BE CLAPPING FOR FLAIR's PERFORMANCE. PJ Cash: "Great job, Ric, you never cease to amaze me. (Cash slides into the ring) Ya know, as young as I am, I wasn't able to follow your career like some of these guys have. So that's why I watched this. CASH REACHES INTO THE INSIDE OF HIS SUIT AND PULLS OUT A DVD. Recognize this? Yeah, it's the Ultimate Ric Flair Collection, a great watch, I suggest everyone here goes and gets it. From your matches with Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes and Terry Funk, to you helping form the greatest group this industry has ever seen. FLAIR HOLDS UP 4 FINGERS WITH A BIG GRIN ON HIS FACE. All this has led me to make one decision about your career, Ric...... I want it"! Cole: "What"?! Cash: "Yeah, I want all of it, I want the fame, the superstardom, I want to ride in limosines and fly around in jets, whatever the hell you did, I want it. I want to be the guy that convinced Ric Flair that his time had passed him by and I want to be the guy that followed in his place. So for the sum of one million dollars.... yeah, folks, you heard that right, one million dollars, I want to buy it". Cole: "This is crazy". JBL: "I can't believe the move that PJ Cash is making here, but for whatever reason, I love it"! Cash: "I'll let you think it over, Ric, nobody would expect you to make a decision like this based on your ninety-two year career in a matter of minutes. So I'll give you until next week and just keep in mind.... it's one million dollars". "DEFY YOU" HITS AGAIN AND CASH LEAVES THE RING AS FLAIR STANDS THERE, SPEECHLESS. EVEN THE FANS ARE IN SHOCK, NOT KNOWING HOW TO REACT. Cole: "This is.... this is unprecedented, John. I don't know what to think". JBL: "PJ Cash has just made a monetary offer for the career of Ric Flair. If you ask me, Flair needs to seriously think this thing over, because he could help mold PJ Cash into everything he's been and then some"! COMMERCIAL BREAK.......... A COMMERCIAL FOR SOUTHWEST AIRLINES IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A PROMO FOR TWF PAYBACK. THE SOUND OF FLOWING WATER IS HEARD AND A DARK FIGURE IS SHOWN, KNELT DOWN ON A DARK RIVERBANK. A FEMALE VOICE BEGINS TO SPEAK. Voice: "This time will be different. This time, there won't be any question asking, there won't be any influence..... this time will be different. THE PERSON, A WOMAN, STANDS AND BEGINS WALKING ALONG THE RIVERBANK. This time, there will be serious pain, and plenty of suffering..... this time there will be no relent! THE WOMAN STOPS AND TOSSES A STONE INTO THE RIVER. Oh yes..... this time will be different". EDDIE SAINT JAMES....... RETURNS....... BACK TO LIVE ACTION, "LIT UP" BY BUCKCHERRY HITS AND AXL IRVIN COMES OUT WITH TRACI BROOKS, WHO DOESN'T SEEM HAPPY. Cole: "We are back on PrimeTime and for those of you who may be just tuning in, we may be looking at Axl Irvin's final night here in the TWF as he stated earlier tonight that if Lashley can defeat him for the second time in a row, he'll quit this business"! JBL: "Don't even mention it, Michael! We have to believe that Axl will win this match, his career has too much promise to be cut short like this"! THE CROWD LOUDLY POPS AS BOBBY LASHLEY STEPS OUT AND PYRO POUNDS OFF ON THE SET. Cole: "Well you yourself said this was a mistake, John! It was on the last edition of PrimeTime that we saw Lashley defeat Axl Irvin and there's no reason to think he can't do it again"! JBL: "Of course it's a mistake! He's put his entire livelihood on the line against one of the top superstars here on PrimeTime! But I admire his guts, I will say that"! Axl Irvin w/ Traci Brooks vs. Bobby Lashley Axl seemed a little nervous as the bell sounded, and Lashley didn't give him any room to get out of it, coming right at him with his impressive physique and striking Axl with a series of right hands and a kick to the gut. After a big gutwrench suplex, Lashley hit the ropes and dropped a huge elbow on Axl, making the cover, and Axl just barely kicked out. Lashley pulled him up and whipped him to the corner, following in with a huge clothesline. Lashley then loaded Axl up onto his shoulders, looking for the running powerslam which would've spelled the end of Axl, but Axl slipped off and then dropkicked Lashley in the back, knocking him into the corner. Showing a boxer's instinct, Axl went to the ribs of Lashley, punching him on either side with right and left hooks. Lashley used his right hand to shove Axl away, but Axl came back with a big right foot to the head. He then hit the ropes, but from his knees, Lashley popped up and blasted Axl with a clothesline that the crowd couldn't believe. He then lifted Axl up with a military press, slamming him to the mat. The crowd could sense the end as Lashley got into a football-like 3 point stance, waiting for him to get up. Lashley charged in with the spear, but Axl moved out of the way and Lashley slammed into the corner. Using all of Lashley's momentum against him, Axl used a quick rollup and got his feet up on the middle rope as referee Chris Kay made the 3 count, never seeing his feet. Match Time: 6:11 JBL: "Ring the bell, this thing is over and Axl Irvin has won it! Ha.... what a great move"! Cole: "A great move?! You yourself admitted it was a mistake! Axl Irvin's entire career was on the line in one match"! "LIT UP" PLAYED AGAIN AS TRACI BROOKS, NOW GLOWING WITH HAPPINESS, LEFT WITH A VICTORIOUS AXL AS LASHLEY JUST LOOKED ON IN THE RING. JBL: "Well it's like the old saying goes, he came up smelling like a rose in the end"! BACKSTAGE.... DRESSING ROOM...... CAMERAS SHOW AN OUTRAGED JORDAN ROCKWELL TURNING HIS DRESSING ROOM UPSIDE DOWN WHEN SHAWN MICHAELS COMES IN. Shawn Michaels: "Whoa, whoa, whoa... calm down! ROCKWELL TURNS AND LOOKS RIGHT IN MICHAELS' EYES. You really gonna let these two punks get the best of you? Come on man, you're the Franchise, I'm the Heartbreak Kid, these two are on the wrong show, they should be on that show searching for two new stars for the next Grease movie"! Jordan Rockwell: "No one....... Michaels: "I know, no one disrespects us like that, but they did, and the way you're acting is exactly how they want you to act. So let's show them what two guys who have done what we have in this industry can do". MICHAELS PATS ROCKWELL ON THE SHOULDER AND LEAVES THE ROOM. ROCKWELL IS STILL SLIGHTLY FIRED UP. THE SHOT RETURNS TO THE RING, WHERE KATO IS SHOWN THROWING SEVERAL MARTIAL ARTS KICKS WHILE SONNY ONOO STANDS BY. JUST THEN, "REPEAT OFFENDER" BY TRAPT HITS AND GABRIEL CROSS COMES TO THE RING TO A PRETTY FAVORABLE RESPONSE. Cole: "Back to the action here on PrimeTime and this should be a great match". JBL: "It's the martial artist against the judo expert, but Kato has one thing Gabriel Cross doesn't.... Sonny Onoo"! Cole: "Well so far, I have been nothing but impressed with Gabriel Cross in his young career and I'm interested to see how he goes about this match with Kato". Kato w/ Sonny Onoo vs. Gabriel Cross The bell sounded and the two men began to circle one another, feeling each other out. Kato moved in first and threw a kick but Cross moved out of the way and it seemed that is exactly what he wanted as he hit Kato with a thrust to the chest which really seemed to knock the wind out of him. Cross then showed great technique, grabbing the right arm of Kato and flipping him over his body. Kato slammed hard to the mat as Cross displayed great balance and went right down into an armbar. Kato seemed to be in a lot of trouble, but he got his right foot to the ropes to earn a break. Cross pulled him to his feet and shot him to the ropes but Kato ducked a backhand and smashed Cross with a yakuza kick. He made the cover, but Cross was up at 2. Kato got Cross into a seated position and locked in a nervehold on his neck area, right in the carotid artery region. Cross was in a lot of pain, but he kept his limbs moving and was able to grab the right foot of Kato, tripping him up. Kato scrambled to his feet, but Cross caught him with a back spin kick to the midsection. Cross had complete control of Kato's center of gravity and he threw him to the man with another judo style takedown. But Cross looked up to see the Blood Brothers at ringside, holding their fighting staffs. The momentary distraction allowed Kato to get up and when Cross turned around, he was taken out by a roundhouse kick to the head. Kato fell into a cover and got the 3 count. Match Time: 5:21 Cole: "What the hell are the Blood Brothers doing out here"?! JBL: "Well it looks like they're coming into the ring, Michael... this could get ugly". CROSS STOOD UP AND NOTICED THE 3 ON 1 ODDS. HE THREW A KICK AT KATO, BUT SEAN O'HAIRE HIT HIM IN THE BACK OF THE LEGS WITH HIS STAFF. DUSTIN KASH THEN PICKED HIM UP AND HE AND O'HAIRE DELIVERED THEIR CLOTHESLINE-STO COMBINATION. Cole: "This is what they did to Batista at ECW, handing him a career threatening injury! Somebody needs to get out here to help Cross"! JBL: "It looks like things are only going to get worse, Michael, here comes the leader of ECW"! JOE COREY AND PAUL HEYMAN MADE THEIR WAY TO THE RING AS THE BEATING CONTINUED. WITH CROSS TOTALLY INCAPACITATED, COREY ENTERED THE RING AND THREW KATO SOMETHING.... AN ECW T-SHIRT! SONNY ONOO LOUDLY APPLAUDED AS KATO PUT THE SHIRT ON. JBL: "Look at this, Michael, we have another new member"! Cole: "Who's we? You gonna join these guys, too"?! "MISERIA CANTARE" CAME ON AS THE 4 MEN RAISED THEIR HANDS WHILE A BEATEN CROSS LAY BENEATH THEM. JBL: "You never know, this right here, this ECW, is the hottest thing going. Joe Corey said he would do on PrimeTime what he did on Rampage, and he is doing just that". BACKSTAGE...... THE CROWD INSIDE THE ARENA LOUDLY POPS AT THE SIGHT OF JOHN CENA WALKING THROUGH THE HALL, BUT HE STOPS TO TALK TO RIC FLAIR. John Cena: "Hey Ric, I wanted to say thank you for getting me this match tonight". Ric Flair: "No problem, champ". Cena: "I also wanted to say, that I hope you're not thinking about taking PJ Cash's offer". Flair: "Good luck tonight..... just worry about winning that title". Cole: "The Universal title match is next"! COMMERCIAL BREAK...... A COMMERCIAL FOR NETZERO IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR TOYOTA. RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE..... AS PRIMETIME RETURNS, "THE TIME IS NOW" HITS AND JOHN CENA COMES OUT TO A VERY MIXED RESPONSE, BUT HE SEEMS VERY FOCUSED. Cole: "The Universal title belonged to John Cena after an impressive WrestleMania win. It went back to Randy Orton at Foul Play when Orton was victorious in a triple threat match and now, we have Cena versus Orton one more time"! JBL: "Many consider these two men the top two young superstars in this business, and have since before they were even on a main roster in the TWF!
