Attendance: 21,410

June 25, 2007

*Arena Civica, pictured below

It was a very somber night in the wrestling world, due to news of a terrible tragedy earlier in the day. But the TWF decided that the show must go on, and a full house in Italy was ready for that.

Paul London and Brian Kendrick vs. Gregory Helms and Bill Cutting

Uprising opened with tag team action, that featured Helms and Cutting going back to their alliance against the upstart London and Kendrick. London and Kendrick took control from the start with their fast paced abilities, but Helms and Cutting hung tough. After dropkicking Cutting out of the ring, London went for a suicide plancha, but missed everything. Cutting then caught Kendrick hitting the ropes by drilling him with a knee to the back, which led to the "Nightmare on Helms Street" and Helms covered Kendrick for the upset win.

Non-Title Match

Lightheavyweight Champ: Daivari vs. Tyson Dux (invitee)

Dux wasn't much competition here for Daivari, who was on top of his game. After blasting Dux with a superkick, Daivari came off the top rope with a guillotine legdrop to get the win.

Umaga w/ Armando Alejandro Estrada vs. Rory McCallister w/ Robbie

Umaga may've been able to beat both Highlanders with his dominating performance in this one. Rory got in little to no offense, and after a nasty throw up Samoan drop, Umaga put him down with the "Samoan Spike" for the win.

PRIMETIME GOES LIVE

*DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, THIS EDITION OF RESULTS WILL BE CONDENSED*

WHEN PRIMETIME COMES ON THE AIR, "MY TIME IS NOW" HITS AND JOHN CENA COMES OUT TO A PRETTY GOOD OVATION. MICHAEL COLE IS SHOWN IN THE RING, HOLDING A MICROPHONE.

JBL: "It's time for the best show in wrestling and I get to kick it off! Michael Cole is in the ring, ready to conduct a face to face interview and let's face it folks, I should be handling this interview, I would ask the tough questions"!

Michael Cole: "And ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the TWF Universal champion..... Randy Orton"!

BOOS FILL THE ARENA AS "BURN IN MY LIGHT" BY MERCY DRIVE HITS AND RANDY ORTON MAKES HIS WAY OUT.

JBL: "We are in Milan, Italy, and these crazy Italians are clearly excited that the wrestling god has made the trip"!

Cole: "John..... Randy..... in just over one week, the two of you will go at it in a two out of three falls match at Payback. We've already seen some great matches between you two, like the one at WrestleMania. What can the fans expect to see at Payback"?

John Cena: "Well I'm pretty sure they can expect to see the same thing they did at WrestleMania, I mean......

ORTON SNATCHES THE MIC FROM CENA.

Randy Orton: "Look, Cena, I'm the champ.... I'll talk first! At Foul Play, I pinned your shoulders to the mat to win this title back, so I don't know why anyone would expect to see another fluke like they did at WrestleMania! Face it, Cena, I'm more athletic than you..... I'm more technical than you..... I'm definitely better looking than you..... and my finisher, the RKO, is the difference maker! At Payback, I will wash my hands of you for good"!

THE FANS BOO AS CENA TAKES THE MIC BACK.

Cena: "Better looking? C'mon man. But seriously, just like you did as we went into WrestleMania, you can talk about what you're gonna do..... I'll show you what I'm gonna do".

CENA DROPS THE MIC AND "THE TIME IS NOW" HITS AGAIN AS HE AND ORTON ENGAGE IN A LONG STAREDOWN.

JBL: "That's what you have to look forward to at Payback, people! It's two out of three falls, and I predict it will be a classic"!

COMMERCIAL BREAK.......

A COMMERCIAL FOR DISCOVER CARD IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR ADT SECURITY SYSTEMS.

RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE AREA.....

WHEN PRIMETIME RETURNS, GABRIEL CROSS IS SHOWN IN THE BACK, DOING SOME PRE-MATCH STRETCHES WHEN THE BLOOD BROTHERS AND KATO APPROACH.

Dustin Kash: "Hey..... Daniel Son.......

CROSS LOOKS UP TO SEE THE ECW MEMBERS AND KASH CHUCKLES.

Ha.... got him to look. Anyway, rumor has it that you are looking for a match with one of us at Payback..... well we've decided that all three of us feel like kickin' your ass, so if you can manage to find a couple partners, we'll have ourselves a little six man".

CROSS JUST GIVES THE 3 A LONG STARE, BEFORE WALKING OFF.

Ric Flair vs. Rene Dupree w/ Dawn Marie

Ric Flair came out to an amazing reaction and the energy lasted throughout the match, in which he dominated Dupree. The French Phenom had little answer for Flair, who blistered his chest with chop after chop. Flair shot Dupree to the corner and ran in, but Dupree got a foot up in his face and came back looking for a clothesline. But Flair used a drop toehold and then grabbed Dupree's right leg, looking for the figure four. A frantic Dawn Marie got on the apron, but Flair grabbed her a planted a kiss right on her mouth. Flair then did his signature strut to the crowd's delight when suddenly, PJ Cash appeared on the PrimeTron, walking down the streets of Milan, arm in arm with a very attractive blonde. The distraction was enough to allow Dupree to come from behind with a rollup to pin the Nature Boy.

Match Time: 4:47

NOT CONCERNED WITH THE DEFEAT, FLAIR POPPED UP, LOOKING AT THE PRIMETRON. PJ CASH WAS LOOKING BACK, LAUGHING.

PJ Cash: "What's the matter, Ric, take your eye off the ball? How could someone of your legendary stature do something like that? Oh, I know, it's because your time in the ring was up.... a long time ago.

CASH AND THE WOMAN APPROACH A LIMO. THE LIMO DRIVER GETS OUT AND OPENS THE BACK DOOR FOR THEM. THE WOMAN GETS INSIDE BUT BEFORE CASH DOES, HE TURNS BACK TO LOOK AT FLAIR.

Ya know.... I'm gettin' better at this stuff than you are...... Wooooooo"!

IN THE RING, FLAIR IS CLEARLY AGITATED AS THE SHOT GOES BACKSTAGE.

BACKSTAGE......

MARIA IS SHOWN STANDING WITH JOE COREY AND PAUL HEYMAN. COREY HAS THE ECW WORLD TITLE OVER HIS SHOULDER.

Maria: "Joe, or would you like me to call you Mr. Corey"?

Joe Corey: "Whatever you can remember.... champ works".

Maria: "Okay, champ, this past week on Rampage, we saw the ECW lose an eight man tag team match. What effect will that have on......

Joe Corey: "Wait, wait, wait, before you even go there, with the whole, how will this affect Payback crap, did I lose the fall on Rampage? No. Did Johnny Hazard have to use a steel chair to win? Yes. Hazard, any fan with an IQ above room temperature knows that you don't belong in the same ring with me and at Payback, the fact that our match is Extreme Rules plays into my favor, not yours. I'm gonna beat you down like the degenerate you are and show everyone why ECW is the most dominant group this industry has ever seen. And after the match, Maria, you can ask Johnny how the beating he took will affect the rest of his career".

COREY AND HEYMAN WALK OFF BEFORE THE SHOT IS SENT BACK TO THE RING.

The Black Tiger vs. Juventud Guerrera (invitee)

It was announced just before this match got started that the Black Tiger would be challenging Daivari for the Lightheavyweight title at Payback, but first, he had to face one of Mexico's greatest ever lucha libre stars, Juventud Guerrera. Juvi has experienced some success in the TWF as a member of SlaughterHouse, and he gave the Black Tiger some trouble here. Juvi seemed like the quicker of the two, and after a round kick caught Black Tiger right on the button, he picked him up for the "Juvi Driver". But Black Tiger fought his way free, and delivered a wicked reverse DDT takedown, that was very similar to Gregory Helms' "Nightmare on Helms Street" manuever. The Black Tiger then went to the top rope, and landed a picture perfect corkscrew moonsault to get the 3 count. As the Black Tiger celebrated the win with the fans, he looked up to the top of the stage to see Daivari, who was holding up his Lightheavyweight title very arrogantly as the shot faded out.

WHEN PRIMETIME RETURNS, JORDAN ROCKWELL AND SHAWN MICHAELS ARE SHOWN GETTING READY WHEN THERE IS A KNOCK ON THE DOOR.

Jordan Rockwell: "Did you order something"?

Shawn Michaels: "This is an arena, not a hotel..... come in".

THE DOOR SLOWLY OPENS, AND MARIA WALKS IN WITH HER HEAD DOWN.

Maria: "Hey guys..... I just wanted to make sure everything will..... I mean, I've never wrestled before".

Rockwell: "Oh, don't worry, everything will be fine, you got two of the best ever watchin' your back".

Maria: "Promise"?!

MARIA AND ROCKWELL SHARE A LOOK AND JUST AS ROCKWELL IS ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING......

Michaels: "He promises, now run along, we'll see ya out there.

MARIA LEAVES THE DRESSING ROOM.

What are you doing"?

Rockwell: "Well I knew you weren't gonna feel any sympathy for her".

Michaels: "Uh..... I don't think that was sympathy you were feelin'".

Non-Title Match

Super Crazy vs. ECW World Champion: "The Show" Joe Corey w/ Paul Heyman

Anyone who had any questions about Joe Corey going into Payback can drop them now. Super Crazy, a member of the original ECW, ran into a buzzsaw here as Corey was on his game. Crazy's lone bit of offense was a dropkick but he missed badly with a reverse crossbody from the middle turnbuckle. Corey kicked his legs out from behind him and then dropped a knee right on his face. Crazy got up to his feet, holding his nose, and Corey smashed him with a clothesline. Off an irish whip, Corey kicked Crazy in the gut and delivered the "Showstopper". He took a moment to trash talk a few of the fans in the front row who had been heckling him since his entrance, before deciding to pull Crazy up. Corey then delivered a second Showstopper and rolled Crazy over for the convincing win.

Match Time: 2:14

THE SOUND OF FLOWING WATER IS HEARD AND A DARK FIGURE IS SHOWN, KNELT DOWN ON A DARK RIVERBANK. A FEMALE VOICE BEGINS TO SPEAK.

Voice: "This time will be different. This time, there won't be any question asking, there won't be any influence..... this time will be different.

THE PERSON, A WOMAN, STANDS AND BEGINS WALKING ALONG THE RIVERBANK.

This time, there will be serious pain, and plenty of suffering..... this time there will be no relent!

THE WOMAN STOPS AND TOSSES A STONE INTO THE RIVER.

Oh yes..... this time will be different".

BUT THE CROWD LOUDLY CHEERED AS HIGH OCTANE CAME OUT OF THE CROWD AND ATTACKED FINLAY, TURNING THE TABLES ON HIM FROM LAST WEEK. LASHLEY THEN HIT THE RING AND TOOK ON AXL. AFTER A BIG SUPERKICK, HIGH OCTANE GRABBED FINLAY's SHILLELAGH AND SMASHED HIM OVER THE HEAD WITH IT! THE ITALIAN FANS WERE LOVING IT. MEANWHILE, LASHLEY TOOK AXL OVER THE TOP ROPE WITH A BIG CLOTHESLINE AND HE AND OCTANE STOOD TALL IN THE RING AS THE FANS LOUDLY POPPED.

6 Person Tag Team Match

Deuce, Domino and Cherry vs. Jordan Rockwell, Shawn Michaels and Maria

This might've been the first time Cherry had been seen without roller skates, and much to the delight of the crowd, her and Maria started the match. The two ladies mostly pulled hair and rolled around on the mat, looking to gain control. But once Deuce slapped the bottom of his girlfriend, Cherry, it forced Maria out of the ring. Rockwell jumped in, and he was all over Deuce, rocking him from one side of the ring to the other. After a catching Deuce with the Rocksmasher, it appeared to be over, but Domino came in to make the save. Rockwell went to hit Domino, but Cherry got in the way of her brotherm forcing Rockwell to hold back. That allowed Deuce to come from behind with a knee to the back. Deuce and Domino then spent the next 5 minutes or so making frequent tags and taking it to Rockwell. Deuce exposed the ribs of the "franchise" as Domino got in several uppercuts and a kick right to them. But when Domino went for a piledriver, Rockwell countered and the crowd urged him to get to the corner. Tags were made on both sides, but Michaels beat Deuce to the punch and he was all over him. After a flying forearm that was right on the money, HBK nipped up and loaded up his foot but again, Cherry got in the way. This time, Maria came in and tackled her, taking her right to the mat. Deuce ran at Michaels and went right into a scoop slam. Michaels then went to the top rope but Domino came into the ring. Rockwell came in and took him over the top rope with a clothesline, but the momentary distraction allowed Deuce to get up. Domino was able to throw Rockwell into the steel ring steps before shoving Michaels off the top rope. Michaels landed right on the knee that Deuce and Domino had attacked with a crowbar on Rampage, and you could see the knee buckle. As Michaels went down in pain, Deuce hit the ropes and kicked him right in the face, also known as the "Crack in the Mouth". Deuce covered Michaels, hooking the leg for the win.

Match Time: 8:29

BACKSTAGE.......

RANDY ORTON IS SHOWN TAPING HIS WRISTS IN A DRESSING ROOM WHEN EDGE COMES IN.

Edge: "Hey man.... look, I know you were just trying to help out in my match against Cena last week, but how many times does this have to happen"?

Randy Orton: "What are you trying to say, Edge"?

Edge: "I'm just saying that every time you try to help me in a match, you end up costing me. Can you just try to keep your head in the game tonight... please"?

EDGE LEAVES THE ROOM AND ORTON DOESN'T SEEM HAPPY ABOUT HIS COMMENTS.

Non-Title Match

Johnny Hazard and Gabriel Cross w/ The Harem vs. Tag Team Champions: The Blood Brothers

Gabriel Cross and Johnny Hazard did not seem to be too happy to team together, but they had common enemies in the ECW contingent. Kash and O'Haire on the other hand, are quickly becoming one of the best teams the TWF has ever seen, and it showed. Kash controlled Cross early, neutralizing him after a left jab bloodied his nose. After a running STO takedown, Kash made the cover, but Cross was up. Kash pulled him up by the hair but Cross got hold of Kash's right arm and threw him over his body. Cross then made his way to his corner and got the tag to Johnny Hazard who was a house of fire. After consecutive clotheslines on Kash, Hazard turned and dropped O'Haire with a right hand that knocked him to the floor. Hazard grabbed Kash for a german suplex but Kash used his foot to block it before drilling him with a back elbow. O'Haire got back up and tagged in, grabbing Hazard by the hair and slamming him right into his knee. After two sharp middle kicks to the abdomen and rib area of Hazard, O'Haire picked him up for the "Widowmaker" but Hazard raked his eyes and out of nowhere, caught him with the "Toxic Drop". Hazard rolled into a cover and got 1.........2........, but Kash came in to make the save. This brought Cross in and all four men were going at it. The fight soon spilled to the floor and that's when Joe Corey, Kato and the rest of ECW made their way through the Italian fans. But before they could do anything, Matt and Jeff Hardy came out to a tremenous roar. The Hardy's traded shots with Corey and Kato while Hazard and Cross brawled with the tag champs. In the ring, referee Mickey Henson had reached a count of 9 but just before he got to 10, Cross slid into the ring to win the match for his team.

Match Time: 6:39

As Howard Finkel made the official announcement, Hazard and the Hardy's got into the ring. The Hardy's slapped hands with Gabriel Cross and Cross looked at the Blood Brothers, mouthing the words "Looks like I got some partners"!

2 out of 3 Falls

John Cena and CM Punk vs. Randy Orton and Edge

Much like the Universal title match between Orton and Cena at Payback, this match had the stipulation of 2 out of 3 falls. Orton and Edge came into the match with all the gold, but their partnership seemed a little shaky, while Cena and Punk were ready. Punk started the match with Orton, the man he defeated last week. Orton was the aggressor early, catching the straight edge superstar with some stiff European uppercuts before pasting him with a dropkick off an irish whip. With Punk down, Edge was eager for a tag. Orton obliged, bringing the Rated R superstar into the match. Edge rocked Punk with some haymakers but after reversing an irish whip to the corner, Punk flew in with a big knee to the head before delivering a jumping bulldog. Cena tagged into the match and could sense a quick win. After dropping Edge with his spinning sideslam, Cena found the mark with the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Edge slowly got to his feet, only to find himself on Cena's shoulders but before Cena could deliver the F-U, Orton came into the ring with a dropkick. Punk entered the ring again, and all 4 men were going at it. Referee Mike Chioda had lost control and finally called for the bell. Chioda ruled that both teams had been disqualified, and each gained a fall over the other!

Suddenly, it was 1-1 and Cena tried to pick up right where he left off. After catching Edge with a huge powerslam, he made the tag to Punk who went straight to the top rope. He flew off with a clothesline, but somehow, Edge had enough sense to move out of the way and into his corner, where he tagged in Orton. Orton looked to polish off Punk, but Punk escaped an "RKO" attempt and set Orton up for the Uranagi, which Orton countered with an elbow to the back of the head. After using a unique backbreaker, Orton tagged in Edge who sized Punk up for the spear. Edge waited for him to get up, charging when he did, but Punk leapfrogged him and then put him down with a nice shuffle kick. Punk then tagged in Cena who went back to the spinning sideslam. The fans booed when Cena called out for another 5 Knuckle Shuffle, but they booed even louder when Orton came into the ring with his belt. Orton ran at Cena, but Cena moved and Orton smashed Edge right upside the head with the title! Cena then disposed of Orton before getting Edge up on his shoulders and driving him into the mat with the F-U. Cena fell into the cover, hooking the leg as Chioda made the 3 count.

Match Time: 14:27

"MY TIME IS NOW" PLAYED LOUDLY THROUGHOUT THE ARENA CIVICA AS CENA GLARED AT ORTON, HOLDING UP 2 FINGERS BEFORE THE SHOT FADED OUT.
