August 27, 2007

The stars of PrimeTime came to Memphis for their final show before MeltDown. There was no Uprising taping held, so we jumped right into the action.

PRIMETIME's MONTAGE VIDEO ROLLS WHILE "RAP SUPERSTAR" PLAYS BEFORE THE ARENA, SWARMING WITH TWF FANS, COMES INTO THE SHOT.

Michael Cole: "It is bedlam here in Memphis as we heat things up for MeltDown"!

A PROMO GRAPHIC WITH THE PRIMETIME LOGO IS SHOWN WITH RIC FLAIR AND EDGE ON ONE SIDE AND JOHN CENA AND RANDY ORTON ON THE OTHER.

JBL: "And look at our main event for the night, Michael! Shane McMahon, in all his wisdom, made this tag team match"!

Cole: "Personally, I think it's a great main event with several possibilities, partner"!

THE FANS LOUDLY BOO WHEN KEVIN THORN's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT WITH ARIEL, HOLDING HIS WALKING STICK. FOLLOWING THEM IS GANGREL.

JBL: "I'm not your partner but the lights are on bright and here comes the number one contender for the Intercontinental title"!

Cole: "The strange duo of Kevin Thorn and Ariel are making their way out and it looks like they're gonna make themselves at home here".

JBL: "Who are you calling strange, Michael"?!

THORN PULLS UP A CHAIR AND ARIEL SITS IN HIS LAP AS GANGREL GETS INTO THE RING.

A HUGE POP IS HEARD WHEN "THIS FIRE BURNS" BY KILLSWITCH ENGAGE COMES ON AND CM PUNK COMES OUT WITH THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE AROUND HIS WAIST.

Cole: "Thorn will get an up close look at the man he will face for that Intercontinental title at MeltDown and after the bloodbath he suffered on the last PrimeTime, you know Punk is ready for this one"!

JBL: "CM Punk better get a quick win here because with this being a non-title match, Gangrel is out here to do nothing more than to soften the straight edge superstar up"!

Non-Title Match

Gangrel vs. Intercontinental Champ: CM Punk

As Punk took the Intercontinental title off and handed it to the timekeeper, Gangrel attacked him from behind and was all over him. After a gordbuster, Gangrel pulled Punk up and delivered a side russian leg sweep, but only got a 2 count after a float over into a cover. Gangrel pulled Punk up and shoved him to the corner, rocking him with 2 right hands. But when he went for an irish whip to the corner, Punk reversed it before exploding into him with a big knee to the face. Gangrel stumbled out of the corner and Punk used a nice climbing enziguri to put him down. Punk then encouraged the crowd to get involved and they did as he caught Gangrel with a nice shining wizard. He went for the cover, but Gangrel was up at 2. Punk pulled Gangrel up and went for a suplex but Gangrel blocked it and delivered one of his own. Gangrel then pulled Punk up in a front facelock and went for his Impaler DDT but Punk countered and spun out of it, lifting Gangrel to his shoulders before delivering the "GTS" and falling into a cover for the 1.......2..........3.

Match Time: 4:39

Cole: "An impressive win for the Intercontinental champion and now...... oh look out"!

JUST AS PUNK STOOD UP, HE WAS HIT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD BY KEVIN THORN WITH HIS WALKING STICK.

JBL: "Turn out the lights, this party is over! That may be the fate of CM Punk at MeltDown"!

THORN STOOD OVER PUNK, LOOKING DOWN AT HIM AS ARIEL CAME UP AND WRAPPED HER LEGS AROUND HIS WAIST. THORN THEN HAD HER HANG UPSIDE DOWN, RIGHT NEAR PUNK.

Cole: "I don't know if we've ever seen anything weirder than these two! But you're right, John, CM Punk's title reign may be in serious jeopardy"!

RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE.....

Eddie Saint James w/ Monica vs. Jeff Gann (invitee)

Jeff Gann, who spent most of his career as a WCW Saturday Night enhancement talent known as The Gambler, may have never been in a situation like he was here. The Saint showed an aggressive mean streak as he took the fight to Gann, who wasn't in the best of shape as it was. After a kick straight to the head, The Saint pulled Gann into a nasty short arm clothesline. After tossing Gann through the top and middle ring rope, The Saint distracted referee Mickey Henson as Monica kicked Gann right in the kidneys. Gann got to his feet, but The Saint dove off the apron with a flying clothesline. After pulling Gann up and whipping him into the ring steps, The Saint could've won the match by count out. But he picked him up and rolled him into the ring before flying off the top rope and stomping right on the chest of Gann. Saint James then got him up and delivered the "Death to Humanity" before covering him and hooking the leg for the 3 count.

BACKSTAGE AREA.........

CAMERAS IN THE BACK SHOW CHERRY SKATING PAST THE CATERING AREA WHEN JEFF HARDY COMES AROUND FROM THE OTHER SIDE. CHERRY SEEMS A LITTLE SURPRISED AS SHE RUNS RIGHT INTO HIM.

Cherry: "Oops, I'm sorry".

Jeff Hardy: "No, don't worry about it. I was lookin' for you anyway".

Cherry: "You..... you were"?

Jeff: "Yeah, I wanted to ask if you might like to go out for a drink or something after the show".

CHERRY IS TWIRLING HER HAIR WITH HER FINGER AND IS VERY INTERESTED.

Cherry: "Well, I........

JUST THEN, DEUCE COMES UP.

Deuce: "You what?! You can't be serious, Cherry! Look, punk, this is my girl, always has been, always will be! And even if she wasn't, she wouldn't go out with some painted haired freak like you! So I'll give you ten seconds to get outta my face, or I kick your teeth down ya throat"!

JEFF THROWS HIS HANDS UP AND STARTS TO WALK AWAY, LAUGHING.

Jeff: "Whatever man".

DEUCE GRABS CHERRY BY THE ARM AND LOOKS AT HER WITH A VERY SERIOUS LOOK IN HIS EYES.

Finlay vs. "High Octane" Damion West

It was time for one of the night's feature matches. High Octane's entire career was on the line against a man he is 0-3 against. And Finlay wanted to make it 0-4. Finlay was able to take a quick advantage after landing some nasty forearm shivers and then a big left handed clothesline. After a fireman's carry slam, Finlay jumped right onto High Octane, ramming his lower body into the abdomen of West. Finlay went for a cover, but High Octane was up. Finlay delivered a vertical suplex and continued to hammer away at him. A feeling of desperation came over the Memphis crowd as a chant of "Octane" loudly broke out. Finlay pulled him out of the corner and slapped his chest before shooting him to the ropes but West avoided a clothesline and came off the other side of the ropes with a big flying forearm. After an inverted atomic drop, High Octane delivered a big swinging neckbreaker and he was on fire. High Octane nearly pulled it off after using the ring ropes as a springboard into a sunset flip to get a very near fall. Octane pulled him up and belted the chest of Finlay with a knifedge chop but Finlay came back with a rake of the eyes before dropping Octane with a right hand. Finlay then made his way to the corner and grabbed his shillelagh. Referee Charles Robinson came over and tried to grab it, but Finlay overpowered him and ran at High Octane with the weapon but he ran right into the superkick from West known as the "Head on Collision". Finlay was out on his feet and he fell back to the mat as High Octane rolled on top of him to get the 1.........2.........3!

Match Time: 6:57

High Octane didn't get any time to celebrate as PJ Cash came into the ring and picked up Finlay's shillelagh, hitting West in the back of the head with it. High Octane struggled to get back up to his feet and when he did, Cash put him right back down with the "Cash Register" before he and Finlay left to some massive heat.

RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE.....

The Hardy's vs. Bill Cutting and Gregory Helms

PrimeTime returned with 4 of the most exciting superstars in the TWF, but referee Mike Enos had his hands full as all 4 men began brawling right away. Helms got in a low blow on Jeff Hardy which allowed he and Cutting to knock him over the top rope with a double clothesline. But Matt Hardy spun Helms around and dropped him with a discus punch before catching Cutting with the Side Effect. Matt then went up to the top rope, looking for his flying legdrop on Cutting, but Helms came over and shook the ropes, crotching him on the top turnbuckle. Helms and Cutting then looked to bring Matt off the top with a double superplex but Jeff got back into the ring and dropkicked Helms out of the ring. Jeff then got Cutting on his shoulders and Matt came off the top rope with a flying clothesline. The fans appreciated this and a faint "L.O.D." chant could be heard. Matt then shot Cutting to the corner and got down on his hands and knees so Jeff could hit the Poetry in Motion. Jeff then used a unique rollup on Cutting to get the 3 count.

Match Time: 2:37

After the match, Matt and Jeff were jumped by Deuce and Domino, who were obviously still upset about the advance Jeff made on Cherry. But the fans popped when Paul London and Brian Kendrick ran out from the back to the aid of the Hardy's. Deuce, Domino, Helms and Cutting retreated as The Hardy's and London and Kendrick stood tall in the ring.

METHODIST HOSPITAL: OMAHA, NEBRASKA

TWF CAMERAS ARE ON THE SCENE IN OMAHA AS THE HAREM ARRIVES AT METHODIST HOSPITAL TO VISIT JOHNNY HAZARD.

THE FOUR GIRLS PUSH THE DOOR TO HIS ROOM OPEN, AND HE IS SHOWN LAYING IN THE HOSPITAL BED. HIS ROOM IS SLIGHTLY DARK, BECAUSE THE BLINDS HAVE BARELY BEEN PULLED OPEN.

Nurse: "Johnny..... you have some friends here to see you. Johnny.......

HAZARD's EYES SLOWLY OPEN AND HE LOOKS AT THE HAREM.

Johnny Hazard: "Who is it"?

Nurse: "It's your friends".

ONE OF THE GIRLS STEPS FORWARD AND GRABS HAZARD's HAND, WHICH IS HANGING OVER THE BEDRAIL.

"It's us".

Hazard: "I don't know these people, nurse. Can you just bring me a glass of water"?

Nurse: "Of course, Johnny. Come on, ladies, it's time to go now".

THE HAREM IS SURPRISED AND ONE OF THE GIRLS IS IN TEARS AS THE NURSE USHERS THEM OUT OF THE ROOM.

TWF Lightheavyweight Title Match

Challenger: Kenny Doane vs. Carney

Carney was looking to avenge his prior loss to Doane who seemed very confident going into this match. Both men seemed equal in speed and agility, but it was Carney who would make the first big impact in the match, drilling Doane with a spinning heel kick as he flew off the top rope. Following a corkscrew legdrop, Carney went to the apron on the outside of the ring and used the ropes to slingshot himself in for a crossbody but Doane used his own momentum against him to get a 1.......2........, but Carney escaped. Back on their feet, Doane caught Carney with a right hand before whipping him to the ropes but when he pushed him up into the air, Carney turned it into a dropkick right to the face. Carney pulled Doane up and had him in a standing waistlock. Doane was trying to figure a way out but Carney ran him into the ropes and rolled him up but Doane rolled through it and grabbed a handful of his pants to steal the title!

Match Time: 4:30

Carney appealed to referee Mike Chioda, but Chioda stood behind his 3 count as Doane left with the belt.

BACKSTAGE.......

JORDAN ROCKWELL AND SHAWN MICHAELS ARE SHOWN BACKSTAGE TALKING WHEN PAUL HEYMAN WALKS UP.

Paul Heyman: "What's the matter, guys, fresh out of pranks tonight? Look, fellas, I know......

Jordan Rockwell: "No, Paul, you don't know a damn thing! And you've got a lot of guts coming up to us right now".

Shawn Michaels: "Yeah...... what he said"!

Heyman (laughs): "Oh yeah, keep talking, keep up the fun and games, boys. But mark my words, it will come to an end. Ya see, the ECW has obtained a certain X-factor and this will be something that the two of you.... and Bobby Lashley, won't be able to overcome".

HEYMAN WALKS AWAY WITH A BIG GRIN ON HIS FACE AS THE SHOT FADES OUT.

6 Man Tag Team Match

Bobby Lashley, Shawn Michaels and Jordan Rockwell vs. ECW: "The Show" Joe Corey and The Blood Brothers w/ Paul Heyman

Two matches that will take place at MeltDown were combined in this 6 man tag and ECW was definitely ready to get this match started, attacking Lashley, Michaels and Rockwell on the outside of the ring. Corey and Lashley traded shots on one side of the ring while the Blood Brothers were getting the best of Rockwell and Michaels on another. Referee Charles Robinson was occupied with the brawl between Lashley and the ECW World champion and after Dustin Kash sent Michaels head first into the steel ring post, he held Rockwell's right arm out, exposing it for a shot with the martial arts staff from Sean O'Haire. O'Haire then rolled Rockwell into the ring and followed him in. After a few stiff kicks from O'Haire, Dustin Kash tagged in and he drilled Rockwell with a big clothesline. Rockwell took a beating as the Blood Brothers made frequent tags, keeping a fresh man in the ring until Joe Corey decided he wanted a piece. Corey made the tag and tried to put Rockwell away with the "Showstopper" but Rockwell countered out with a big backdrop before planting Corey with a DDT. Lashley was up and yelling for the tag as Rockwell slowly crawled over and slapped his hand. Lashley smashed Corey with back to back clotheslines before running the ropes and delivering a flying shoulder block. Lashley hit the ropes again, but O'Haire kicked him right in the back of the head. Corey then hit a flying knee and went for the cover, but Lashley kicked out at 2. Corey pulled Lashley up and drug him to his corner where he made the tag to O'Haire. O'Haire came off the top rope but Lashley caught him in mid air and turned it into an incredible powerslam. Both men were down as a loud cheer rose from the crowd. Just as Lashley made the tag to HBK, Corey and Kash came back into the ring and attacked him. Rockwell and Lashley jumped back in and the fight was on again. O'Haire was able to catch Michaels with a roundhouse kick to the head before getting him up for the "Widowmaker". But Michaels was able to land on his feet when he went for it before knocking O'Haire to the mat with the "Sweet Chin Music"! Michaels fell into the cover and got the 3 count.

Match Time: 7:57

BACKSTAGE........

THE FANS INSIDE THE ARENA LOUDLY CHEER AS RIC FLAIR IS SHOWN IN HIS DRESSING ROOM. JUST THEN, JOHN CENA COMES IN.

Ric Flair: "There's the man, what's goin' on"?!

FLAIR AND CENA SHAKE HANDS.

John Cena: "Ric, I know we are opponents in this tag team match tonight and we have partners who we can't stand. But I just want to reiterate what an honor it will be to face you at MeltDown, for the title".

Flair: "The pleasure is all mine man..... I'll see ya out there".

John Cena and Randy Orton vs. Ric Flair and Edge

Ric Flair and Randy Orton started out one of the most unique tag team matches in TWF history and Flair used his usual dirty tactics to stay right with Orton. After a big shinbreaker, Flair hit the ropes but Orton popped up and drilled him with a perfect dropkick. Orton then made some sort of remark towards Cena and Cena just rocked him with a right hand. This allowed Flair to cover him and he nearly got the pin. Flair then went into his signature strut, but for whatever reason, Edge took exception to that and came in and shoved Flair. Flair fired back with a knifedge on his own tag team partner, knocking him to the corner. Cena slapped the shoulder of Orton to tag himself in and Flair went and slapped the chest of Edge to make him the legal man. Cena got Edge up for the "F-U" but Edge fell off his shoulders and delivered a reverse DDT. Edge then got in Orton's face and the two had some words. Cena came from behind and pushed Edge right into Orton before delivering his spinning sideslam. Cena got up, but this time, Orton tagged himself into the match. Orton pulled Edge up but Edge delivered a big European uppercut before sending Orton shoulder first into the steel post. Edge then knocked Cena off the apron with a hard forearm before turning and spearing his own partner, Flair, off the apron! But when Edge got up, he turned right into the "RKO" and Orton covered him for the win.

Match Time: 7:34

After the match, Orton went outside and got a steel chair and was about to smash Cena with it but Flair came from behind and nailed Orton before clotheslining him out of the ring. He then picked up the chair, daring Orton to come back in the ring. Cena stood up and saw Flair holding the chair. As the fans rose to their feet, Cena extended his hand to Flair, who shook it.
