It had been over 3 years since the TWF came to the Bi-Lo Center, but with it being the last show before Eruption, the fans were stoked for the show to get started. The advertised "Entry to Eruption" main event match had the place buzzing before, during and after the show. Bill Cutting and Gregory Helms vs. Paul London and Brian Kendrick The action in this match was non-stop and it was all over the place. The crowd was very much behind London and Kendrick, and they dazzled them with their high flying abilities. With Cutting on the floor, London tried to come off the apron with an incredible shooting star press, but Cutting moved out of the way and he hit the floor hard. In the ring, Kendrick had Helms set up for Sliced Bread #2, but Cutting came in to prevent the move and that allowed Helms to deliver the "Nightmare on Helms Street" and he pinned Kendrick. But after the match, Helms inexplicably attacked his own partner Cutting, leaving him laying in the ring after delivering a Shining Wizard. Super Crazy vs. Gangrel This was an interesting match and it looked like the only thing Gangrel would do was sip blood from a goblet as Crazy was all over him. After a perfect dropkick, Crazy went to the top rope, looking for his big moonsault, but Gangrel got his knees up. Super Crazy got up, grabbing his midsection, and Gangrel pulled him into the Impaler DDT to get the win. Matt Hardy w/ Jeff Hardy vs. Domino w/ Deuce and Cherry The main event of Uprising was a good one, and the Hardy's got the crowd all riled up. Matt was cookin' against Domino, but he couldn't put him away as Deuce continually interjected himself. Cherry kept glancing over and smiling at Jeff, and Deuce caught her, throwing a fit. Finally, Jeff came over and got in Deuce's face, which led Deuce to pop him with a right hand. Jeff fired back and the fight was on. In the ring, Matt had just hit Domino with the Side Effect, but he saw his brother brawling with Deuce. Matt looked ready to launch himself over the top rope with a plancha, but Domino got up and rolled him up from behind, grabbing a handful of his pants and getting the 3 count and a big upset. DEUCE N' DOMINO LEFT TO PLENTY OF BOOS AS THE STAGE WAS SET FOR PRIMETIME TO GO LIVE.PRIMETIME GOES LIVE
*THIS VERSION OF RESULTS WILL BE CONDENSED DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS. DON'T FORGET THAT TWF ERUPTION COMES TO YOU LIVE ON PAY-PER-VIEW DIRECTLY AFTER THIS SHOW..... MAKE SURE YOU CATCH ALL THE ACTION! A HIGHLIGHT PACKAGE ROLLS SHOWING CLIPS OF HOW EDGE, RANDY ORTON, FINLAY, BOBBY LASHLEY AND UMAGA QUALIFIED FOR THE GATES OF HELL LAST WEEK. THAT LEADS INTO PRIMETIME's OPENING MONTAGE AS "RAP SUPERSTAR" PLAYS. THE BI-LO CENTER THEN COMES INTO THE SHOT AND THE CROWD IS ROARING AS PYRO EXPLODES OFF THE SET BEFORE MICHAEL COLE AND JBL MAKE THEIR OPENING STATEMENTS. THE CROWD COMES TO THEIR FEET AND IS ABSOLUTELY WILD AS "THIS FIRE BURNS" BY KILLSWITCH ENGAGE HITS AND CM PUNK COMES OUT. CM Punk vs. Eddie Saint James w/ Monica This was a rematch from last week, and CM Punk was hoping lightning wouldn't strike twice. But he had plenty of problems with the much bigger Saint, who hasn't lost since he returned to action. After several heavy knees to the chest, Saint James kicked Punk right in the side of the head, and the effects lingered the rest of the match. But after escaping The Saint's attempt at the "Death of Humanity", Punk got back into the match with a slew of kicks to the body. He then ducked a clothesline and pasted The Saint with a superkick. Punk tried to lock in the Anaconda Vice, but Saint James had it scouted and got to the ropes. Monica got up on the apron, but Punk wasn't having it, bringing her into the ring using the top rope. Punk then turned and avoided a running boot, lifting The Saint up onto his shoulders before delivering the "GTS" to get the win! Match Time: 10:59 A PROMO IS SHOWN FOR TONIGHT's MAIN EVENT, THE "ENTRY TO ERUPTION". FINLAY, EDGE, RANDY ORTON, BOBBY LASHLEY AND JOHN CENA WILL FACE OFF IN A 5 WAY MATCH WITH THE WINNER GAINING THE LAST ENTRY SPOT IN THE GATES OF HELL. COMMERCIAL BREAK........ RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE...... Carney vs. Kato w/ Sonny Onoo This was a very entertaining match, as the momentum swung back and forth multiple times. Carney was able to hit a missile dropkick off the top rope, but Kato kicked out at 2. Carney pulled him up and whipped him to the corner but he flew in and missed badly when Kato moved, landing hard on his head. Kato then measured Carney and blasted him with a roundhouse kick to the back of the head. He made the cover after Carney crumpled to the ground, but Carney somehow kicked out at 2. Kato argued the pace of the count with referee Mike Enos before pulling Carney up but Carney used a small package out of nowhere to pin ECW's silent assassin! Match Time: 7:03 BACKSTAGE....... CAMERAS IN THE BACK SHOW PJ CASH IN BUSINESS ATTIRE, STANDING NEXT TO SEVERAL CHARTS AND GRAPHS. PJ Cash: "Good evening, everyone. What you are looking at is some good, hard research I've conducted, proving what a fool High Octane is. Ya see, Damion, you should've taken my offer when you had the chance, and here's the proof. In front of me are plenty of numbers, most of which you and the people here in Greenville are too stupid to figure out, but let's take a look at this chart in particular. CASH PULLS FORWARD A CHART WITH LINES THAT START AT A HIGH, AND FINISH LOW. See this first line, this was back like, I don't know, twenty five years ago, when High Octane was actually successful, and people cared about him. These lines in the center represent a slip in success, and this is probably the first time Damion should've considered just giving it up. Now, these last lines, which are pretty much non-existent, represent what will be left of his career after Eruption. I thank you folks for your time". PJ CASH WALKS OUT OF THE SCENE AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO RINGSIDE. "Back in Black" by AC/DC hits and Jordan Rockwell and Shawn Michaels come out in their street clothes carrying the TWF tag team titles to a big pop from the crowd.
Jordan Rockwell: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls and children of all ages, the TWF tag team champions have arrived!
The fans cheer.......
And ya know what I find funny is that a lot of people said that this could not happen cause HBK and I were quote, unquote, not on the same page and there were a lot of people that said that we could not beat the Blood Brothers cause they are supposed to be the best team on PrimeTime, dare I say in the whole TWF. Well you all tell me, what does that make us considering the fact that we beat them at MeltDown?
Rockwell turns around and looks down at JBL at the broadcast table holding up his tag team title.....
I repeat...... WE beat THEM"!
Shawn Michaels: "Blood Brothers, you two fell victim to the oldest plans in the history of this business and that was simply we beat you down mentally then we did it emotionally and then the final step was we beat you down physically and fact is over the past few weeks, we did exactly that with the final phase coming at MeltDown"!
All of a sudden, "Miseria Cantare" hits and the fans boo when Paul Heyman comes out.
Paul Heyman: "Excuse me for interrupting your victory speech gentlemen, but I thought you would want to know that my clients Sean O'Haire and Dustin Kash, better known as the Blood Brothers, are offically exercising their rematch clause for the tag team titles"!
The fans boo.....
Rockwell: "Okay so you are interrupting us because they want a rematch for the titles"?
Heyman: "Uh yes, especially considering my men were at a disadvantage the first time".
Rockwell: "Give us a moment........
Rockwell and Michaels confer for a few moments......
Michaels: "Okay Paul, we accept the......
Rockwell: "Wait, hold on a second, did you just say your men? I always thought there was something weird about you guys".
Heyman: "What are you trying to imply"?
Rockwell: "Well I mean not that there is anything wrong with that sorta thing, I mean shawn and I like women so while we are getting ass you guys are taking it up........
Michaels: "Ooook..... I think this is the time for me to finish what I was trying to say which was we accept the rematch challenge for Eruption"!
Heyman grins as the fans cheer.....
Heyman: "Well thank you gentlemen very much and I will deliver that".
Rockwell: "Whoa.. whoa.. whoa..... you wanna take a message to them? Then you go back there and you tell O'haire and Kash that at Eruption, unlike every time ECW takes a shower together, the only thing that's going up their asses is our feet"!
Rockwell puts his arm on Michaels' shoulder.
Heyman: "Well, I'll let you tell them that yourselves, because HBK, you have a match with Sean O'Haire and the man who wins the match and his partner will be selecting the stipulation for the rematch at Eruption"! COMMERCIAL BREAK......... RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE.... Shawn Michaels vs. Sean O'Haire When PrimeTime returned, the Blood Brothers had come out and it didn't take long for emotions to begin running wild. With the stakes high, referee Charles Robinson made the decision to send both Jordan Rockwell and Dustin Kash to the back. Two of the better athletes in all of the TWF, Michaels and O'Haire, would then go on to have a terrific match, one of the best of the year. Michaels was overmatched by the power of O'Haire, but when he mixed in his martial arts skills, O'Haire was all over the Heartbreak Kid. After a big powerslam, O'Haire positioned himself in the corner, much like Michaels does. When Michaels got up, he went for a spinning roundhouse that probably would've knocked HBK out cold, but Michaels ducked and picked O'Haire up, delivering an inverted atomic drop. Michaels then ran the ropes and scored with a flying forearm before getting down and pounding away on O'Haire with several rapid fire punches. Michaels went to the top rope and flew off, but O'Haire blasted him with a kick right to the face. He fell into the cover, but Michaels was up at 2. Off an irish whip, O'Haire dropped to one knee before catching Michaels with a backhand to the gut. He then came running in with a nasty kneelift. With Michaels in the corner, O'Haire smacked his chest with 3 knifedge chops before grabbing his arm and pulling him into a wicked hook kick. From there, O'Haire went to the top rope, and flew off with the Seanton Bomb. But Michaels was able to roll out of the way. From there, HBK went to the corner and began stomping the mat, looking for the "Sweet Chin Music". But O'Haire saw it coming and ducked, using Michaels' kicking leg to throw him into the corner. But the cat-like Michaels landed on the turnbuckle and flew off with a reverse crossbody, landing it. But O'Haire was able to roll through it and he had a handful of HBK's pants as Robinson made the 3 count. With this win, the Blood Brothers will be able to select the stipulation for the Tag Team title match at Eruption. Match Time: 10:22 BACKSTAGE AREA...... IN THE BACK, MARIA IS STANDING BY WITH HIGH OCTANE. Maria: "High Octane, earlier tonight, we saw somewhat of a presentation on your career by PJ Cash and I......... High Octane: "Let me just cut you off right there, Maria. You want to know how I feel about it, right? Well I thought it was stupid. I think PJ Cash is stupid. I mean, he talks about all the money he has at such a young age, but all that money is going to buy him at Eruption...... is a first class ass kicking". HIGH OCTANE WALKS OUT OF THE SHOT WHICH IS SENT BACK TO THE RING. “Miseria Cantare” hits and the ECW World Champion “The Show” Joe Corey makes his way to the ring from the ECW entrance, followed by Paul Heyman. The entire time Corey is walking to the ring, all can tell that he is uneasy about something.
Joe Corey: "Look, I don’t want to deal with any of you people right now, but I have an important announcement that I have to make. As all of you know, my contract with Primetime expired after Meltdown, and I am currently the biggest free agent in TWF history. Now, for the past few weeks my agent, Paul Heyman, and I, have been listening to the offers of General Managers from all four divisions of the TWF. Not only that, but I have also received offers from wrestling promotions in England, Germany, Japan, and Australia. In the end, I have decided on where I want to be, and that is the TWF!
The fans all start to cheer, which is uncharacteristic for “The Show”.
SHUT UP!!! I am staying here because this is where the action is. This is where the future is. And you want to know why? That is because this is where ECW is. And with that said, I now have one major decision left to make, and that is what brand is going to be lucky enough to land my services for the foreseeable future. So at this time, I am extending an invitation to Muhammad Hassan, Jesse Steele, and Eric Bischoff to come to Eruption this Sunday. At that time, they can come to this ring, join Shane McMahon, and at that time, all four of you can give me your last pitch as to why I should come to your division. Paul has informed all of you what it is going to cost you to land me for your show, but I want to know what you are going to do for me to get me to go there.
Now, to whoever turned out the lights last week and cost me my shot at unifying the ECW and Universal Championships, I invite you to come to Eruption as well. I am sick of your messages, and your tricks, and it is going to end. But whoever you are, don’t worry, because it is not going to be me that you have to deal with on Sunday. No, no, no… you are going to deal with my X-Factor, and he is just dying to rip you to shreds. So come on, whoever you are, because me, my X-Factor, and all of ECW will be waiting for you"! "MISERIA CANTARE" HITS AGAIN AS COREY DROPS THE MIC, AND HE AND HEYMAN LEAVE TO PLENTY OF BOOS AS THE SHOT FADES OUT. COMMERCIAL BREAK........ RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE.... "High Octane" Damion West and Gabriel Cross vs. PJ Cash and Kenny Doane Two matches that will take place at Eruption were combined in this big tag team match, and most of it was consumed by an irate High Octane losing it with PJ Cash, forcing referee Mickey Henson to nearly disqualify him. But Cash still seems to have High Octane right where he wants him, as he used his anger against him and after a rake of the eyes, delivered a nice swinging neckbreaker. Doane came in to pick up the pieces and he picked West up, slapping him with several knifedges in the corner. After a jump kick to the face, Doane shot High Octane to the ropes for a great dropkick. But he missed with a legdrop off the middle rope, and Octane got the tag to Gabriel Cross. The number one contender for the Lightheavyweight title came in and took it to Doane, who he will face at Eruption. After a palm strike that busted open the nose of Doane, Cross landed a perfect judo throw over his body. Cross went for the cover, but Cash came in to break it up. This brought Octane back into the ring and he clotheslined Cash right out. Cross got up and hit the ropes as Henson forced High Octane back to his corner, but this allowed Cash to get up and catch Cross in the back with a knee, leading to a huge double arm DDT from Doane. He made the cover, hooking the leg, but Cross kicked out at 2. Doane pulled Cross up and whipped him to the corner but when he ran in, Cross nailed him with a back elbow before slapping the hand of High Octane. Cross ran in and ducked a clothesline from Doane before pushing him right into the "Head on Collision" and High Octane rolled the Lightheavyweight champ up to get the 3 count. Match Time: 10:10 BACKSTAGE........ CAMERAS SHOW MARIA KNOCK ON THE DOOR OF A DRESSING ROOM, AND TRACI BROOKS ANSWERS. SHE LOOKS ANNOYED, BUT ALLOWS AXL IRVIN TO COME TO THE DOOR. Maria: "Hey, Axl, last week, the fans of PrimeTime were very surprised to see you make your long awaited return, but may've been even more surprised to see what you did to Umaga". Axl Irvin: "Good, I hope they were surprised. But it's something they, and everyone else around here needs to get used to. Because I'm not here to make friends or please the fans.... I'm here to be the best.... ever". Maria: "Well, Umaga has accepted your challenge for the final spot in the Gates of Hell match later tonight, what do you have planned for him"? Axl: "What do I have planned for him? Well, if you thought last week was bad.... wait until tonight". Non-Title Match Ace Steele (invitee) vs. Intercontinental Champion: Kevin Thorn Kevin Thorn battled a long time close friend of CM Punk here, and Michael Cole said that he was specifically picked out by the Intercontinental champion to face him tonight. But many were wondering where Ariel was, as she didn't accompany Thorn to the ring. Steele didn't provide much competition, as the bigger, stronger Thorn beat him down, making quick work of him and putting him away with the "Dark Kiss" in just over 2 minutes. Match Time: 2:20 But after the match, a loud reaction was heard as Ariel came from the back, pulling Maria down the aisle by her hair, against her will. Ariel was able to get Maria into the ring and she and Thorn stood over her. Thorn looked like he was in an erotic state as he stood over Maria, and Ariel had one rose with her. It was unclear what they had planned, but many fans were relieved when CM Punk hit the ring. Ariel scattered as Thorn threw a right hand that missed, and Punk landed 2 hard kicks to the body before catching him with a big clothesline that took him over the top rope. Ariel retrieved the IC title and handed it to Thorn before they left while Punk helped a terrified Maria. COMMERCIAL BREAK...... RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE...... Gates of Hell Qualification Match Umaga w/ Armando Alejandro Estrada vs. Axl Irvin w/ Traci Brooks After their altercation last week, these two went all out to get the final spot in the Gates of Hell. Axl actually won a trade of punches and after a kick to the midsection, he grabbed Umaga and threw him shoulder first into the steel ring post. He then went to the middle turnbuckle, but got caught with a superkick when he flew off. Umaga began to punish Axl with a headbutt and a big avalanche in the corner. After a huge Samoan drop, Umaga got ready for the "Samoan Spike" but Axl grabbed his hand with both of his to fend it off, and after a kick to the gut, he landed a big DDT. Axl waited for Umaga to get up but missed with a clothesline when he did and Umaga smashed him with a clothesline of his own. Umaga then went to the middle turnbuckle, looking for his diving headbutt. But Axl got up and grabbed him, looking to slam him to the mat. But Estrada got involved, tripping Axl up and Umaga landed on top of him. Estrada then held Axl's foot down, preventing a kick out as Umaga got the pin. Match Time: 6:18 After the match, Traci came over and began arguing with Estrada, but Umaga came out and was stalking the stunning manager. Axl came from behind with a steel chair and smashed Umaga across the back twice. The second shot had so much behind it, it knocked Umaga over the guardrail and into the crowd. But Axl didn't stop there. He shocked the entire crowd when he turned the chair on Estrada, smashing him over the head and knocking him cold! PRIOR TO THE MAIN EVENT, MICHAEL COLE AND JBL RUN DOWN THE ENTIRE CARD FOR ERUPTION. "Entry to Eruption" Finlay vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Universal Champion: John Cena It was time for the Entry to Eruption and these 5 men were all battling for the right to enter the Gates of Hell at Eruption last. The rules were simple. All 5 men in the ring at once, first one to earn a decision wins. All 5 men had several oppurtunities to win it, but after Finlay smashed Lashley in the back of the head with his shillelagh, it looked like it was all over. He made the cover, but somehow, Lashley found it within to kick out. Cena was having his trouble on the other side of the ring with Orton and Edge, but Lashley fought off the Irishman and came to the aid of the Universal champ. Cena clotheslined Orton over the top rope, and Lashley caught a running Edge with a backbody drop that sent him to the floor. Cena then turned to Lashley, and the crowd came to their feet as a showdown seemed imminent. But Finlay came from behind on Lashley again before sending him hard into the steel ring post. Cena caught Finlay with a right hand before delivering his spinning side suplex but right when Cena got up, he was taken out by a huge spear from Edge! Edge stood over Cena, taunting him, but Finlay came from behind and knocked him through the ropes to the floor. But right when Finlay turned around, Orton was waiting with the "RKO" and he hit it with plenty of impact before covering him to win the match! Match Time: 8:15 The fans booed as "Burn in My Light" by Mercy Drive played, but Orton had secured the final spot in the Gates of Hell match. OFF AIR...............
