The Michigan Wolverines qualified for the NCAA tournament this season but the navy blue and yellow colors usually seen in the stands of Crisler Arena were replaced by the signs and t-shirts supporting the superstars of TWF PrimeTime. 3 matches were slated for Uprising and the crowd was near capacity at bell time for the pre-show to PrimeTime on FOX.
The Uso's w/ Tamina vs. Silver Wolf and Ultimo Dragon The Uso brothers had their hands full with the reigning Lightheavyweight champion and one of the greatest International stars of all time. Ultimo Dragon wowed the crowd with an Asai moonsault on Jey Uso and then took him down with a hurricanrana. Silver Wolf came into the match and established the dominance that has kept the gold around his waist. After a big powerslam on Jey, Silver Wolf pulled him up and whipped him to the corner but he posted his shoulder when he charged in and Jey moved. Jimmy Uso tagged into the match and he and his brother combined to crack Silver Wolf with a double superkick. Jimmy went for the cover but could only get a 2 count. He pulled Silver Wolf up but couldn't maintain control as the Native American superstar kicked Jimmy in the abdomen and then threw him right into his brother. Ultimo tagged into the match and a spinning heel kick seemed to put the match away. But Jey came into the ring and stopped the 3 count. Silver Wolf came in and nailed Jey with a clothesline before turning and dropping Jimmy with a yakuza kick. So fired up, Silver Wolf hit the next thing he saw, his own partner, with a discus double sledge, taking the Dragon out. As the referee forced Silver Wolf out of the ring, Jey Uso went to the top rope and came off with a big splash on Ultimo. He got out of the ring as the legal man, Jimmy, rolled into a cover and got the win, giving The Uso's momentum as they head into the invitational tag team tournament.
Colt Cabana vs. Chavo Guerrero This was a very entertaining match for the crowd as Chavo and Colt really went all out. Chavo was able to avoid a reverse body splash in the corner and that led into the trio of suplexes known fondly as the '3 Amigos'. Chavo then set up an STF but Cabana was able to get to the ropes to get out of it. Chavo hit the ropes and went for a front dropkick but Cabana caught both his feet and had him set up in position for a Boston Crab. Instead, of all things, he delivered the rarely seen giant swing! He then got Chavo up for a vicious cradle DDT known as the Cabanarama and that led to a 3 count.
Chris Masters vs. Vladimir Kozlov Two heavy hitters met in the main event of Uprising and it was a slug fest, to say the least. Kozlov got the best of the first exchange and after knocking Masters into the corner with a push kick, he charged in but Masters moved. Masters then swung with his clubbing shot to the head, but all it did was stun Kozlov. Masters shook his right hand in pain before turning and drilling the big Russian with a clothesline. He then got him up and showed off a move we haven't seen him use to win a match, a running shoulder breaker, and he covered Kozlov for the 1.....2........3.
MASTERS LEFT THE RING WITH THE VICTORY BUT HIS HAND STILL SEEMED LIKE IT WAS BOTHERING HIM. MEANWHILE, HOWARD FINKEL ENTERED THE RING TO ENCOURAGE THE CROWD TO CHEER AND YELL AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE AS PRIMETIME WAS LESS THAN 60 SECONDS AWAY FROM GOING LIVE ON FOX!
PRIMETIME GOES LIVE
RIGHT WHEN PRIMETIME TAKES THE AIR, AN INTENSE CHAOS WOLF IS IN THE RING WITH A MICROPHONE.
Chaos Wolf: "West........ I'm not going to wait any longer! This needs to end! You don't like me and I don't like you! We all know you've been hooked on illegal narcotics..... but let's see what kind of balls you have! I'm ready for a street fight..... right now"!
Scott Hudson: "What a way to start PrimeTime..... Chaos Wolf wants a street fight"!
PJ Cash: "And I'm all for it..... it is time for this thing to end because I'm tired of it".
MOMENTS LATER, AN ENGINE REVS UP AND "STRONGER" BY KANYE WEST STARTS TO PLAY AND DAMION WEST COMES OUT TO A GOOD CHEER.
Hudson: "And Damion West has answered the call.... this is gonna get ugly"!
Street Fight Chaos Wolf vs. Damion West West slid into the ring and Wolf was right on him with boots but West didn't seem to feel them at all, getting up and rocking Wolf with some right hands before grabbing him in a headlock and throwing him over his body. A seemingly furious West then drove his right hand into the head of Wolf multiple times before pulling him up and throwing him into the corner. West ran in but Wolf countered with a back elbow before taking West down with a double leg and going into a choke, wrapping both hands around his throat. The referee in the match, Marty Elias, only out there to make a 3 count for all intents and purposes, could do nothing about it. Wolf pulled West up and threw him over the top rope to the floor and he followed him out. Wolf grabbed West and slammed him head first into the ring apron. He then picked him up onto his shoulders but West slipped free and dropped Wolf with a clothesline. He then waited for Wolf to get up and nailed him with the "Head on Collision" when he did. Looking exhausted, West got back into the ring to recover but suddenly, a very large man came out from the back and he got into the ring, smashing West from behind. After a huge powerslam, he jumped on West with a huge splash. Meanwhile, Wolf was able to get up on the floor and he got back in the ring, covering West for the 3 count. Match Time: 7:55 Hudson: "What the heck is going on..... who is that man"?! Cash: "That's Brodus Clay! Had you been studying up on things, you'd know that"! "REMEMBER THE NAME" STARTED TO PLAY AS CHAOS WOLF WENT OUTSIDE THE RING AND GRABBED A STEEL CHAIR. BRODUS CLAY GOT WEST UP AND HELD HIM THERE AS WOLF POUNDED THE CHAIR OVER THE HEAD OF DAMION WEST. Cash: "Oh did you hear that?! Opening day is approaching for the Detroit Tigers and they might not hit a ball that hard all season"! Hudson: "This story was turned up a notch when Damion West used his step sister to cost Chaos Wolf the tag team titles! Wolf, in turn, has gone out and found this massive Brodus Clay as a result and here on this night, Chaos Wolf had a plan going in and West walked right into it"! CAMERAS GOT A SHOT OF THE SEEMINGLY UNCONCIOUS DAMION WEST. CHAOS WOLF AND BRODUS CLAY HEADED TO THE BACK AS A COMMERCIAL BREAK CAME UP. COMMERCIAL BREAK..... A COMMERCIAL FOR T-MOBILE WIRELESS IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A PROMO FOR THE ROYAL RUMBLE, ONLY ON PAY-PER-VIEW. *** FROM THIS POINT, RESULTS WILL BE CONDENSED DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS.RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE...... WHEN PRIMETIME RETURNS, CAMERAS SHOW VELVET SKY SLIP A PIECE OF PAPER UNDER THE DRESSING ROOM DOOR OF CALEB WEBER. Invitational Tag Team Tournament First Round The United Nations vs. The Nasty Boys This match featured a few surprises. First, Rene Dupree came out with a completely different look than the last time we saw him, sporting several new tattoos. Next was the Nasty Boys, a team that reached much success in the early 1990's but had never competed in the TWF. Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags both looked like their best days were behind them, but it was clear they still had a lot of cohesiveness. After thwarting a pre-bell attack by the U.N., Knobbs and Sags were able to take Paul Burchill out of the ring with a double clothesline. After getting their hands on Dupree, they each laid into him with simultaneous punches. Knobbs then grabbed his own partner and flung him into Dupree. Referee Charles Robinson was able to get Knobbs out of the ring into his corner but Sags grabbed the face of the 'French Phenon' and stuck it into the arm pit of Knobbs, the move known as the Pit Stop. Burchill came into the ring and nailed Knobbs from behind. He was forced to his corner by Robinson but Dupree was able to explode into Sags with a clothesline. He then put the boots to him and yelled "Let's go old timer"! before pulling him up and rocking him with a european uppercut. Burchill tagged into the match and kicked Sags in the abdomen before whipping him to the ropes and driving a right hand into the same area. After a big vertical suplex, The U.N. had taken complete control of the match. Dupree held his foot on the top rope as Burchill rammed Sags' face into it, taking a page right of the Nasty Boys book. Burchill then grabbed Sags and shot him to the ropes but after ducking a clothesline, Sags kicked Burchill and hit a DDT. For some reason, the crowd was actually behind the Nasty Boys. Burchill made a tag but so did Sags and Knobbs came in, connecting with 2 stiff jabs before dropping Dupree with an elbow to the head. Burchill came into the ring and clipped Knobbs from behind but when he went to run the ropes, Sags lowbridged the top rope and Burchill went over, hard to the floor. Seeing an opportunity, Knobbs made the tag to Sags before picking Dupree up for a big running powerslam. Sags then came off the top rope with a flying elbow and covered Dupree for the 1...........2............3 and a major upset! Match Time: 5:57 AS THE NASTY BOYS CELEBRATED THE WIN IN THE RING, DUPREE AND BURCHILL LOCKED EYES WITH A SENSE OF DISBELIEF. Hudson: "That's an upset if there ever was one"! Cash: "The Nasty Boys? I can't believe these clowns even got an invitation..... how did they beat one of the best teams of this era"?! Hudson: "It looked like The Nasty Boys of old if you ask me and they will now face The F.B.I. in the next round of this tournament"! Cash: "I thought this tournament was supposed to find a challenger for The BoogeySaints, not find a team for them to laugh at"! PARKING AREA....... A limosine pulls up in the parking lot and after a few moments the driver gets out and goes around to the passenger side and opens the door and all the members of The Empire get out and are talking amongst themselves. As they enter the building, the driver accidentally bumps into Carney as he goes to shut the door.
Carney: "Watch it, idiot"!
Driver: "Excuse me sir, my fault, I apologize......
Carney: "Damn right it's your fault! Wait, don't I know you from somewhere"?
Driver: "No sir, I'm new to the limo company".
Carney waves it off and walks into the building as the driver pulls his cell phone out and makes a call.
Driver: "Yeah.... it's me.... we just got here.........
He ends the phone call and seconds later, Carney walks out into the parking lot and is heading towards the limo where the driver is standing.
Carney: "I can't believe I left my wallet in the limo..... hey you..... open the door".
Driver: "Yes sir, just a second".
Carney: "Hurry up, unlike you, I have a life".
The driver opens the door and as Carney goes to get in he is shocked as Jordan Rockwell jumps him from inside the limo.
Jordan Rockwell: "Did ya miss me"?
Rockwell pounces on Carney, hitting him with a series of rights, one after another. As Rockwell gets up, he gives Carney a kick to the ribs before grabbing him by the hair and pulling him up to his feet.
Jordan Rockwell: "Get up you little bastard"!
Rockwell then tosses Carney with all his might into the limo door, slamming it shut and shattering the window. Rockwell stands over him, looking down at him.
Jordan Rockwell: "What's the matter, you ain't a tough guy? You ain't jack squat when you don't have help now are you? Nooooooo... little boy needs help like you always did and after everything I did for you all this is what you do to me? Everything i did for you! You little piece of crap..... and you want to try to take me out?
Rockwell picks Carney up and leans him against the car in a sitting position while holding his head in place.
Look at me when I'm talking to you boy! You get this straight cause I'm not going to tell you again! If you ever..... and I mean ever look to do harm to anyone I care about again, I swear to God there won't be a place on this planet you'll be safe from me, you understand me"?!
Rockwell gets up and gives Carney one last kick.
Little bastard! Oh and by the way, you do know your driver".
The driver walks over and takes off his hat and drops Carney's wallet on him to reveal that he's Samaiel.
Samaiel: "Castigar a los culpables.......
Rockwell looks into the camera and hands Samaiel a stack of cash.
Jordan Rockwell: "Ya see Wakeman, two things you need to understand, for one all this young man wanted was a break and I just gave it to him with a bonus and the second thing that you need to understand is simple. You send one of mine to the hospital...... and I send one of yours to hell".
Rockwell shakes Samaiel's hand then walks into the building as Samaiel walks in the opposite direction and leaves. The camera gets one last shot of Carney, wincing in pain. THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING WHERE GREGORY HELMS AND VELVET SKY ARE. Hudson: "Wow...... that was violent to say the very least". Cash: "Jordan Rockwell is slated to face Caleb Weber later tonight according to what I'm looking at here but if you ask me, he may have just made his last mistake". A NEW ENTRANCE THEME COMES ON AND THE CROWD COMES TO THEIR FEET AS SIN CARA COMES OUT. Hudson: "This I am very much looking forward to. This man, Sin Cara, has made a tremendous name for himself in Mexico and now, we get to have him here on PrimeTime to showcase to the largest viewing audience in the world"! Cash: "Sin Cara obviously comes here with a lot of hype but I'm ready for him to back it up because he doesn't have the easiest first opponent in Gregory Helms". Gregory Helms w/ Velvet Sky vs. Sin Cara Helms really was not prepared for what he saw here as Sin Cara used about 6 variations of the headscissor takedown before hitting a wicked hurricanrana into an armbar. Helms was able to get to the ropes to break the hold and got some offense in after reversing an irish whip right into a spinebuster. He then tried to get him up for a reverse DDT but Sin Cara countered and hit Helms with a jumping reverse kick to the back of the head. He then went to the top rope and came off with a frog splash. Immediately, he went to the opposite corner and performed a backflip into an elbow drop. The crowd was loving it as he went to one of the other corners with a lightning quickness, flying off with a guillotine legdrop. Finally, he went up to the only turnbuckle he hadn't used and performed an incredible rounding splash, right into a cover to get the 3 count and the win. Match Time: 5:35 Hudson: "I can honestly say that I don't think we've ever seen a debut like that in the TWF"! Cash: "He's as fast in that ring as anyone I've ever seen and I agree, debuts don't come like that very often but still, he has a lot to prove..... this isn't Mexico"! AS SIN CARA LEFT THE RING SLAPPING HANDS WITH THE CROWD, VELVET SKY WAS BERATING HELMS IN THE RING AND CONCLUDED IT WITH A SLAP ACROSS THE FACE. Hudson: "Wow, it looks like Gregory Helms has lost more than just a match tonight". Cash: "Yeah because we've all seen that that little trollop Velvet Sky has eyes for some other guy! Don't let it bother ya, Helms, she's nowhere near as hot as these lowlifes in the crowd make her out to be! None of them have seen a naked woman in their thirty to forty years"! Hudson: "And with that, let's go to break". COMMERCIAL BREAK.......... RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE...... WHEN PRIMETIM RETURNS, CALEB WEBER AND THE NEW FEMME FATALE CHAMPION ARE WALKING BACKSTAGE. EVE HAS HER HANDS AROUND CALEB's ARMS AS THEY ENTER HIS DRESSING ROOM AND THEN IMMEDIATELY START MAKING OUT. THEY STOP, AND EVE SEES THE PIECE OF PAPER ON THE FLOOR. Eve Torres: "What's that"? Caleb Weber: "Who cares"? THE TWO GO BACK TO KISSING FOR A FEW MORE MOMENTS. Eve Torres: "You better start getting ready for your match". IN ANOTHER PART OF THE BACKSTAGE AREA, M.X. OGDEN IS SHOWN PURCHASING A WATER FROM A VENDING MACHINE. HE WALKS DOWN THE HALL WHERE CAMERAS SPOT KOFI KINGSTON AND JOHN MORRISON TALKING. KOFI SEES OGDEN AND STARTS TO MAKE HIS WAY OVER. Kofi Kingston: "Hey.... hey Ogden"! OGDEN TURNS AND HE AND KOFI ARE ABOUT TO GO AT IT WHEN MORRISON GETS IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM. John Morrison: "Save it guys..... save it". M.X. Ogden: "What's the matter, Kofi, your head still hurt"? Kofi Kingston: "I don't like your attitude.... not at all and if you got the time, I got the mind to do somethin' about it"! M.X. Ogden (laughs): "Is that right? Ya see, myself and the rest of Rising United are here to change the face of the TWF and what I did to you.... will always be remembered as the day it was born". KOFI DOESN'T LIKE THAT COMMENT AND HE CRACKS OGDEN WITH A RIGHT HAND BUT OGDEN FIRES BACK. THE TWO TRADE SHOTS UNTIL OGDEN GETS A FINGER INTO HIS EYES BUT THEN HE TURNS AND NAILS MORRISON WITH A SHOT TOO! MORRISON AND KOFI TEAM UP ON OGDEN AND THE FIGHT SPILLS INTO THE ARENA AS THE CROWD STARTS TO CHEER. KOFI AND MORRISON GET OGDEN TO THE RING BUT BEFORE LONG, TYLER REKS, VANCE ARCHER AND JUSTIN GABRIEL COME OUT TO HELP OGDEN. THE FANS START TO BOO AS THE 4 ON 2 NUMBERS ARE TOO MUCH FOR MORRISON AND KINGSTON. AFTER A RUNNING BOOT TO THE FACE FROM ARCHER, MORRISON TAKES A BURNING HAMMER FROM REKS. OGDEN IS ABLE TO CATCH KINGSTON WITH ANOTHER "MEMORY MAKER" AS GABRIEL GOES TO THE TOP ROPE AND COMES OFF WITH A TREMENDOUS 450 SPLASH ONTO HIM! "COME WITH ME" BY P. DIDDY AND JIMMY PAGE COMES ON AS OGDEN AND HIS 3 COHORTS STAND OVER THE TWO BEATEN MEN. Hudson: "We are apparently looking at Rising United..... the contingent ran by M.X. Ogden and although he talked about what he did to Kofi Kingston on the last edition of PrimeTime, this here could be a moment that goes down in TWF lore for some time to come". Cash: "Rising United. I like the sound of that and to me, when they say they are here to change the face of the TWF, change the landscape if you will, I believe them". BACKSTAGE....... IN THE BACK, LENA YADA IS WITH KEN DOLL AND LACEY VON ERICH. Lena Yada: "I am here with Ken Doll and Lacey Von Erich and I just had to ask, what version of Barbie is Lacey tonight"? Ken Doll: "Is that supposed to be some kind of joke"? Lena Yada: "Well I ask because the two of you are the subject of many jokes. I mean, most people look at the two of you as some sort of comedy routine". Lacey: "Ughhhhhh...... Ken Doll: "Shut your mouth! The only thing that's been funny is the level of opponents I have been given lately. I am a championship caliber superstar here in the TWF and from this moment forward, I want to be treated like one"! JUST THEN, SHELTON BENJAMIN COMES UP AND GETS RIGHT IN DOLL's FACE. Shelton Benjamin: "The only reason I don't drop you right now, is because I want another match with you and because I promised The Empire I wouldn't. So next time I see you in the ring, get ready, because I'm gonna humble you and make you look even more stupid than you already do, right in front of your Barbie doll girlfriend". #1 Contender for Universal Title Edge vs. Kevin Thorn w/ Ariel Edge and Thorn went right at it, trading shots in a match with plenty on the line. Thorn was the first to be able to gain control and he pulled Edge into a short clothesline. After a big elbow drop, he draped Edge over the top ring rope but Edge got in an elbow to the gut before pulling Thorn to the center of the ring and delivered a swing neckbreaker. He waited for Thorn to get up, clotheslining him over the top rope when he did. But Edge then made a drastic mistake, going for a dive through the ropes and as he moved aside, Thorn was able to push Edge in the back and he went face first into the floor around the ring! Edge was out and Thorn got him up, rolling him into the ring. Clearly, Thorn could have ended it right there but he picked him up and delivered his Cross Powerbomb to lead into a pinfall. Match Time: 4:01 Hudson: "Wow, an abrupt end to this match and Kevin Thorn is now the number one contender for the Universal title". Cash: "For me it was hard to deny that Thorn wasn't the number one contender going into this match and there's no denying it now". Hudson: "Folks you don't want to go away because still to come, the reigning Universal champion Joe Corey teams with Chris Jericho to face Matt Hardy and Evan Bourne". COMMERCIAL BREAK......... RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE...... PRIMETIME RETURNS AND CATCHES CHAOS WOLF AND BRODUS CLAY ABOUT TO LEAVE THE BUILDING. THEY SEEM TO BE TALKING ABOUT WHAT THEY DID TO DAMION WEST EARLIER WHEN 2 UNIFORMED POLICE OFFICERS WALK UP. Officer: "Mister Chaos Wolf"? Chaos Wolf: "Yeah........ Officer: "We'd like you to come with us down to the local police station". Chaos Wolf: "What the hell for"? Officer: "We've been shown some videotape involving you and we would like to ask you a few questions". Chaos Wolf: "Ugh, I'll catch up with ya later, Brodus". CHAOS WOLF FOLLOWS THE POLICE AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING. "The Show" Joe Corey and Chris Jericho vs. Matt Hardy and Evan Bourne This match was nothing more than a brawl between these 4 men. But after Evan Bourne launched himself to the outside of the ring onto Jericho, he was able to get up and help Hardy for a 2 on 1 against Corey. Hardy whipped Corey to the ropes and delivered a backbody drop just as Bourne delivered a standing moonsault. Corey did his best to hold his own against both men and eventually caught Hardy with a flying knee that hit him right in the head and knocked him through the ropes to the floor. But Bourne was waiting and when Corey turned around, he nailed him with a spinning wheel kick and then went to the top rope. But Bourne forgot about Jericho who was able to get up on the apron and shove him off, to the mat. Jericho then got into the ring and hit the "Codebreaker" on Bourne to get the 3 count. Match Time: 6:58 After the match, Joe Corey grabbed a microphone and dared Hardy to try and cash in the WrestleMania Jackpot right now but instead took the briefcase and nailed Hardy in the head with it, knocking him for a loop. Corey got back in the ring and Jericho seemed to be measuring him for a Codebreaker too, but Corey turned and saw him. The two locked eyes before Corey left the ring with the Universal title in tow. PROMO: On the next edition of PrimeTime, Silver Wolf will defend the Lightheavyweight Title against Ultimo Dragon. Jordan Rockwell vs. Caleb Weber Rockwell and Weber exchanged a handshake before a nice mat war ensued and some great chain wrestling. But before the match could go too far, Matt Morgan, Cris Henning and Devon Wade hit the ring and jumped on Rockwell. Referee Mike Chioda quickly threw the match out as Rockwell was being hammered by the 4 men. Surprisingly, Weber came to Rockwell's aid, taking on the challenge of The Empire. But after getting in some shots on both Wade and Henning, he was drilled with a Carbon Footprint. Morgan then picked Weber up with a military press and threw Weber outside the ring to the floor. Morgan then grabbed a beaten Rockwell and delivered the "Hellevator". Seconds later, Money Mike came down the aisle carrying a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew. Hudson: "Oh no, what now"? Cash: "The Empire has given Rockwell beating number three hundred and fifteen and now, I guess they feel he's thirsty". Money Mike: "When will enough be enough, Rocky? I wasn't even thinking about you tonight. I had a date planned with my beautiful Stephanie, even thought this city is a complete and total dump! But no, you had to try and play Superman again and mess with us. And trust me, anyone who wants to jump on this fool's side will feel the wrath of The Empire. So, "franchise", what I'd really like to do is slap you in the face with what's in my pants, I'll settle for this. One would think this is Mountain Dew...... but I promise you it's not. See, members of The Empire really wanted to humiliate you after your little limousine trick, and this is what they came up with. Please, take a shower later tonight". WITH THAT, MONEY MIKE DUMPS THE CONTENTS OF THE BOTTLE ALL OVER THE FACE OF ROCKWELL. Hudson: "Oh.... oh you can't be serious.... that's disgusting". Cash: "Hahaha.... this is awesome"! Money Mike: "Taste good, bitch"?! Hudson: "All I can say is.... The Empire has gone too far this time...... somebody needs to step up and stop this......... OFF AIR.......
