Cow Palace

San Francisco, California

Attendance: 13,205

August 17, 2004

Fans flooded the parking lot leading into the Bay area's Cow Palace, getting ready for a hot Summer night with the stars of PrimeTime. The action started with 3 great matches which were part of Uprising.

La Resistance w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Norman Smiley and Billy Fives (invitees)

The former Rampage tag team champs took on a couple superstars who were invited to compete, Smiley and Fives. Smiley got the crowd on their feet by doing the big wiggle but Rob Storm and Sylvan Grenier would not allow themselves to be upset, putting Smiley down with a double flapjack and they hitting Fives with the double team finisher called the "Au revoir" to get the victory.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Bradshaw

It really seemed as though we would see an upset on this night and Kazarian pushed Bradshaw to the limit. But after missing with a flying front kick in the corner, Bradshaw hit the ropes and then steamrolled him with the "Clothesline from Hell" to win it.

Gail Kim and Jazz vs. Victoria and Alex Miran

Uprising concluded with divas action and these 4 fiercely went at it. After Jazz was taken out of the ring, Gail Kim hit a tornado DDT on Miran but when she turned around, Victoria kicked her in the gut and hit the "Widow's Peak" on the Women's champion. But quick as a cat, Miran jumped in and covered Gail to get the 1......2......3. Victoria didn't seem thrilled that Miran stole her glory and left with her arm raised. The crowd didn't seem to like it either.

Christian vs. Val Venis

These two put on a match similar to the great one they had at the pay-per-view. Christian was able to catch Val with the "Un-Prettier" but Venis got his foot on the bottom rope to stop the count. Moments later, Venis was able to avoid Christian charging into the corner and he quickly rolled him up, putting both feet on the middle rope to get the 3 count as the crowd went wild. But Christian stomped up and down and showed the replay to referee Jack Doan who reversed his decision, disqualifying Venis. As Val tried to appeal, Christian went and grabbed the ring bell and brought it in, cracking it over his head. Christian then stood over Venis laughing until the crowd lost it as Shawn Michaels hit the ring. Christian turned around and was met with the trademark "Sweet Chin Music". Michaels then did a little dance in the ring before "Sexy Boy" rocked the arena.

Johnny Blaze w/ Brother Long vs. Shawn Stasiak w/ Chuck Palumbo

Johnny Blaze again looked very good in the ring, controlling the match with Stasiak. But after Stasiak got his knees up on a moonsault off the middle turnbuckle, Long tried to get involved but Palumbo came over and pulled him off the apron. Stasiak then hit a reverse DDT for the win. But as Stasiak and Palumbo celebrated, TWF newcomer Matt Morgan came out and clotheslined them both before delivering a sit down powerbomb to each. Long and Blaze loved every second of it as it seemed Under a Brotha services just got bigger.

There wasn't anything scientific about this match as Cena and the "Michael Jordan of wrestling" traded shot after shot. After hitting a belly to belly suplex, Mack locked in the "Blackout" and thought he had it in the bag. But Cena ran up the turnbuckle and flipped over to counter. He then locked in a fujiwara armbar on the right arm Mack accidentally ran into the steel post earlier and Mack had no choice but to tap out. But with Cena's tag team partner not in the building, Jamal and Rosey came out at the encouragement of Crystal and decimated Cena. Mack joined in on the attack and they left him laying with his tag belt over his chest.

After both men struggled to get control, Mordecai kicked him in the face with a big boot. But off an irish whip, Nemesis ducked a clothesline and hit his chokeslam to seemingly put it away. But right when he was about to make the cover, the lights went out. Approximately 30 seconds later, they came back on and Mordecai had his staff, hitting Nemesis in the head with it to get himself DQ'd. JR and Lawler wondered aloud what was going on as Mordecai looked up, smiling.

Challenger: Carney vs. Shelton Benjamin

These two put on one hell of a match. The seesaw battle saw several high spots from both superstars and after avoiding a superkick, Carney went for a flying forearm but nailed referee Earl Hebner with it. Joe Corey saw this as an oppurtunity to get involved so he dropped his headset and left the broadcast position. He grabbed the K.O.C. title and brought it into the ring, sizing Benjamin up. But Shelton ducked and Corey struck Carney with it! After disposing of Corey, Benjamin rolled Carney up as Hebner recovered to make the 3 count.
