The great northeast played host to the TWF on this night and fans in New Haven were psyched and ready to see Pyronomics get another shot at the Rampage tag belts, especially with Pyromania and Cena being from Buffalo and West Newbury, Mass. respectively. The show got started with Uprising which included an important women's match. Johnny Blaze w/ Brotha Long vs. Justin Sane These two had a great match which the crowd was really in to. Blaze looked like he was gonna get the pin after a tornado DDT butwhen he came off the middle rope, Sane put a foot up in his face and moments later hit the Asylum Neckbreaker for the 3 count. SMW Match: Slater Vain vs. Michael Modest The fans were more familiar with Modest and thus got behind him. But it was the young up and comer Vain who got the win when he reversed a backside rollup, getting a ton of leverage to win it. #1 Contender for Women's Title Jazz vs. Lita After taking an early beating, Litat ried to rally back with the support of the fans. But Jazz was able to get her knees up when she went for her top rope moonsault and that led to a big DDT for the win. After the match, Gail Kim came out, looking to attack Jazz from behind but Jazz turned to see her before she could and Gail just backed away as the shot faded out. RAMPAGE GOES LIVE
RAMPAGE STARTS UP AS USUAL, WITH IT's MONTAGE AND "ACROSS THE NATION" PLAYING. THE ARENA IS SHOWN AND IT IS FLASHING WITH PYRO AS JIM ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER OPEN BY PREVIEWING THE REMATCH FOR THE RAMPAGE TAG TEAM TITLES FROM MELTDOWN BETWEEN PYRONOMICS AND JAMAL AND ROSEY.
Christian w/ A-Train vs. Frankie Kazarian Rampage started with this athletic spotfest but Kazarian was tentative with the massive A-Train outside the ring. He nearly pulled the upset on multiple occasions, getting several 2 counts, the longest being after his stiff yakuza kick. Christian was able to reverse an irish whip but he dropped his head too soon and Kazarian went for a sunset flip. But Christian held his balance and sat straight down, grabbing the extended arms of A-Train to pick up the win. Referee Chad Patton didn't see this and a riled up Kazarian tried to explain it to him. But A-Train came into the ring and nailed him from behind. He and Christian were set to do even more damage when both Scott Steiner and Shawn Michaels hit the ring and took Christian and A-Train out to the delight of the crowd. BACKSTAGE...... The lights went out and slowly, The Undertaker made his way to the ring. He got in and the two traded shots until Morgan was able to deliver a full nelson slam.
