Little Rock, Arkansas
Attendance: 13,008
September 21, 2004
The stars of Rampage came to Little Rock for the first time since August of 2002. But this crowd was bigger, louder and ready for the great show they received. The night's festivities started with Uprising which had three stellar matches. The Hurricane vs. Rodney Mack w/ Crystal Carmichael Hurricane's speed caused many problems for Mack early as he flat out could not catch up with him. But Hurricane made a mistake in charging into the corner and running into a boot to the head. Mack followed that with a clothesline and began to wear Hurricane down on the mat. Hurricane though was able to counter the "Blackout" but after being caught in mid air attempting a cross body block, Hurricane was put down with the Mack Attack and pinned. Hurricane pounded the mat in frustration after losing. Cyclone vs. Taylor Made w/ Desire Many wondered aloud why Taylor came out with only one of his beautiful divas but Cyclone quickly took their mind off that with a blitzing attack. But Taylor settled things down and after hitting the "Customizer", he locked in an Indian deathlock that garnered a submission from the superhero. Johnny Blaze w/ Brother Long vs. John Cena Cena, who came out in an Arkansas Razorbacks basketball jersey, got one of the louder pops all night but got a surprise from Blaze and was nearly beaten. After avoiding the "Up in Smoke" facebuster, Cena delivered the Throwback and then pumped up his old Reebok shoes before hitting the "F-U" to get the 1......2.......3. "BASIC THUGANOMICS" PLAYED AND THE CROWD WILDLY CHEERED AS THE SHOT FADED OUT WITH CENA ON THE TURNBUCKLE THROWING UP THE DOUBLE HORNS. RAMPAGE GOES LIVE
AS RAMPAGE GOES LIVE, "ACROSS THE NATION" HITS AND THE HIGHLIGHT LADEN MONTAGE VIDEO IS SHOWN. WHEN THE ARENA COMES INTO THE CAMERAS' SHOT AND THE TV VIEWERS' SCREENS, PYRO POUNDS OFF ON THE RED AND BLACK SET AS FANS IN RAZORBACK LAND GO NUTS. JIM ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER OPEN THE BROADCAST BY TALKING ABOUT 2 HUGE TAG TEAM MATCHES THAT ARE DISPLAYED IN PROMO GRAPHICS: DREW BLOOD AND MORDECAI VS. NEMESIS AND SAM WILDE ALONG WITH JAMAL AND ROSEY FACING EDDIE GUERRERO AND SHELTON BENJAMIN. The crowd became even louder when "Don't Play with Fire" by 2 PAC played and Austin Pyromania came out, led by Stacy Kiebler. He had a very determined look in his eyes. Austin Pyromania w/ Stacy Kiebler vs. Danny Basham w/ Doug Basham Pyromania let his emotions get the best of him and he played right into the hands of the Bashams who cut any corner they could to get an advantage. After hitting a double spinebuster while referee Chad Patton was with Stacy, Danny made the cover and got 1.....2......, but that was it. After a scoop slam, Danny went to the top rope and came flying off with a guillotine legdrop that would've put it away. But Pyro rolled out of the way and when Danny got up, he drilled him with a spin kick to the gut before hitting a vicious version of the "Pyrotechnics", one that made his head snap back. Pyro went into the cover and got the 3 count and J.R. made the comment that High Octane may have revealed a side of Pyromania no one wants to see. Match Time: 5:20 BACKSTAGE...... SHAWN STASIAK AND JACKIE GAYDA ARE LAUGHING AND CARRYING ON WHEN CHUCK PALUMBO COMES UP AND ANGRILY YELLS AT THEM TO STOP. HE THEN TELLS STASIAK TO GET HIS SH*T TOGETHER AND TO FOCUS ON THE TEAM. COMMERCIAL BREAK..... RETURN FROM BREAK... RINGSIDE.... Chuck Palumbo vs. Rob Storm w/ Jimmy Hart and Sylvan Grenier Palumbo got off to a quick start, tagging Storm with his trademark right hands and a discus punch that knocked him silly. Then, after delivering a fallaway slam, Palumbo had an unbalanced Storm right where he wanted him. Palumbo sized him up for the Jungle Kick but a momentary distraction by Hart allowed Storm to smack him with a superkick of his own and he hooked both legs very deep for the 3 count. Match Time: 7:39 AND AFTER THE MATCH, LA RESISTANCE DECIDED TO INFLICT MORE PUNISHMENT, WHICH HART LOVED. NO ONE CAME TO PALUMBO's AID AS HE TOOK QUITE A BEATING WHICH WAS CAPPED OFF WITH THE "AU REVOIR". BACKSTAGE..... WITH ALEXIS LAREE, JOE COREY HAS ASKED FOR SOME INTERVIEW TIME AND HE IS WITH TODD GRISHAM. COREY SAYS THAT BEING THE DIRECTOR OF AUTHORITY IN SMW, HE WILL GIVE CARNEY HIS KING OF CABLE TITLE SHOT BUT CHALLENGES CARNEY TO ACCEPT A DEMOTION TO SMOKEY MOUNTAIN WRESTLING IF HE BEATS HIM. COREY HAS EVEN ARRANGED FOR AN SMW SUPERSTAR TO TAKE ON CARNEY TONIGHT- IT HE's UP TO IT THAT IS. IN THE RING, JAZZ, THE NEW #1 CONTENDER TO THE WOMEN's TITLE, IS RANTING THAT SHE WANTS HER TITLE MATCH TONIGHT AND WHEN SHE WINS, THE TWF BETTER START MAKING PLANS TO RETIRE THE BELT BECAUSE SHE'LL NEVER LOSE IT DUE TO THE "LACK OF COMPETITION" ON RAMPAGE. BUT JUST THEN, "TIME TO ROCK N' ROLL" BY LIL' KIM HITS AND TRISH STRATUS, WHO APPARENTLY ACCEPTED SHANE McMAHON's OFFER TO COME TO RAMPAGE, COMES OUT AND CHALLENGES JAZZ TO A MATCH---RIGHT NOW! Jazz vs. Trish Stratus Jazz went right after Trish when she got in the ring but the much quicker former fitness model was able to avoid a clothesline and catch Jazz with a Chick Kick. She peppered her with more kicks to the body to take control but after bouncing off the ropes, Trish was victimized by a sideslam and the lower back became the focus of Jazz. After a fisherman buster, Jazz seemed to have it in the bag when Gail Kim came out and into the ring, forcing referee Jack Doan to throw the match out. But Jazz was able to catch Gail with a wicked DDT only to have Trish kick her in the stomach and hit the "Stratusfaction" when she turned around. Trish left both women laying as "Time to Rock N' Roll" played into the break. COMMERCIAL BREAK..... MORE FOOTAGE IS SHOWN OF BRADSHAW's CAMPAIGN TOUR WITH A STATEMENT THAT SAYS "ROLLING INTO RAMPAGE NEXT WEEK". RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE.... Carney vs. Max Ogden of SMW Carney accepted the challenge put forth by Joe Corey but got one heck of a fight out of Ogden, one of the newest but most talented superstars in SMW. He displayed the skills that should make him a star in the future, both brawling with Carney and taking him apart technically. But after ducking a clothesline off an irish whip, Carney was on the money with a flying forearm. He then pulled Ogden in around the head and went to the middle turnbuckle, hitting a reverse torndao DDT. Carney, with the fans coming to their feet, went to the top turnbuckle and came off with a swanton bomb also known as the "C-Bomb". Carney made it over and covered Ogden to end a valiant effort by the SMW star. Match Time: 4:20 BACKSTAGE AREA..... TERRI AND DESIRE CORNER STEPHANIE McMAHON AND SAY THEY'VE CONSULTED AN ATTORNEY ABOUT STEPH's SLAP ON TERRI LAST WEEK, CLAIMING VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE. KNOWING THEY HAVE STEPH's ATTENTION, TERRI ASKS IF THEY CAN "NEGOTIATE" WHEN THE SHOT GOES BACK TO RINGSIDE. KURT ANGLE's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT FOR GUEST COMMENTARY ON THE NEXT MATCH, GREETED WITH HEAVY BOOS. Non-Title Match Eddie Guerrero and Shelton Benjamin vs. Rampage Tag Team Champs Jamal and Rosey w/ Crystal Carmichael Guerrero and Benjamin showed the speed, agility and mat skills that compose one heck of a team. Still, the champions controlled most of the match with their size. But after missing with an avalanche in the corner, Jamal was taken out by Benjamin's Dragon Whip kick. Tags were made on both sides and it was Latino Heat who beat Rosey to the punch. After connecting with a jumping DDT on Rosey, Eddie tagged Benjamin back in and they double suplexed Jamal, shaking the ring. As Rosey stumbled to his feet, Benjamin came off the top rope with his flying clothesline takedown to get the 1.......2........3. Match Time: 9:26 BUT SURPRISINGLY, ANGLE GOT UP AND APPLAUDED THE VICTORY AS BENJAMIN AND GUERRERO JUST LOOKED AT EACH OTHER, NOT KNOWING WHAT TO THINK. COMMERCIAL BREAK...... RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE..... HIGH OCTANE COMES OUT TO ANSWER THE QUESTION OF WHY HE ATTACKED AUSTIN PYROMANIA. REFERRRING TO A FAN POLL THAT ELECTED PYRO #1 CONTENDER TO THE WORLD TITLE MONTHS AGO, OCTANE SAYS HE SHOULD'VE BEEN THE CHOICE AND HE's SICK OF BEING OVERLOOKED. HE GOES ON TO SAY THAT ALL WRESTLING FANS CAN GO TO HELL WHEN STEPHANIE McMAHON COMES OUT AND SAYS THAT IF NOT FOR PYRO's URGE TO GET HIM IN THE RING, HE WOULD BE SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY. OCTANE TELLS HER IF HIS "URGE" IS SO STRONG- TO MAKE THE MATCH. HE THEN LEAVES THE RING WHILE HIS MUSIC PLAYS. TWF RE-WIND SHOWS CHRISTIAN DEFEATING SHAWN MICHAELS AT MELTDOWN. Christian and A-Train vs. Shawn Michaels and Scott Steiner Steiner and A-Train started the match with a hard hitting series and Steiner looked to be the aggressor until walking into the big Pump Kick. Christian came in and wore Big Poppa Pump down, trash talking him while he did. But after bouncing into the ropes, Christian ran right into the Steiner Line and Michaels was tagged in and he came in with revenge on his mind. After knocking A-Train off the apron, HBK fell victim to a reverse DDT from Christian. However, he was able to counter the "Un-Prettier" and hit the "Sweet Chin Music" out of nowhere to bring an abrupt end to the match. Match Time: 6:49 BACKSTAGE..... JOHN CENA GETS PYROMANIA TO HELP HIM CATCH HIGH OCTANE BEFORE HE LEAVES THE ARENA. BUT THEY ARE TOO LATE AS CAMERAS SHOW OCTANE HOPPING INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF A VEHICLE WHICH SPEEDS OFF. COMMERCIAL BREAK..... RETURN FROM BREAK..... A REPLAY OF HIGH OCTANE GETTING AWAY JUST BEFORE BEING CAUGHT BY CENA AND PYROMANIA IS SHOWN. IN THE RING, BROTHER TEDDY LONG IS GIVING A SPEECH AND ANNOUNCES THAT NEXT WEEK ON RAMPAGE, MATT MORGAN, WHO IS OUT WITH HIM, WILL FACE THE UNDERTAKER. THE FANS LOVE IT AND BEFORE UNDER A BROTHA SERVICES CAN LEAVE, THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND A BELL TOLLS 3 TIMES. MORGAN DOESN'T LOOK THE LEAST BIT INTIMIDATED THOUGH. THROUGH A POP-UP GRAPHIC, J.R. PREVIEWS CHRISTIAN VS. SHAWN MICHAELS FOR NEXT WEEK IN A STEEL CAGE. THAT IS ALL FOLLOWED BY A 2 1/2 MINUTE VIDEO PACKAGE FEATURING THE MAN WHO SIMPLY IS...... DREW BLOOD. Drew Blood and Mordecai vs. Nemesis and Sam Wilde This turned into a very competitive, yet very heated match. After a brawl between Nemesis and Mordecai, Drew Blood and Wilde changed the complexion with a beatuiful one on one exchange. With all 4 men in the ring later in the match, Nemesis clotheslined Mordecai over the top rope but went out along with him. Wilde then put Drew Blood down with a fallaway backdrop suplex on he bed. He pulled and went for an irish whip but Drew countered right into the "Blood Bath" and he hooked Wilde's legs yet won. Match Time: 10:38 But after the match, Mordecai incapacitated Nemesis as Drew asked for something from the ceiling and his old cross symbol began to take shape. Blood and Mordecai then laid Wilde on the cross and strapped him down before both men kneeled down in front. The lights went out for a few seconds and some very eerie sounds, almost like talking in tongues, were heard. When they came back on, Drew and Mordecai were gone and Wilde was on the cross..... covered in a blood-like substance! OFF AIR......
