U.S. Bank Arena

Cincinati, Ohio

Attendance: 11,017

October 14, 2004

The U.S. Bank Arena will play host to an Avril Lavigne concert later this month but the TWF was by far it's biggest draw in years. The stars of Rampage were in town and the fans were in the house to show their support. It was a fairly chilly night with winds blowing off the Ohio river but inside, 3 big matches on Uprising heated things up.

Justin Sane vs. Sylvan Grenier w/ Jimmy Hart

Sane came out very aggressively and threw Grenier off his game, putting him down with a flying forearm. But a momentary distraction from Hart opened the door for the well conditioned Grenier. But after connecting with a spinning wheel kick, Sane got on Grenier's shoulders and spun around into a wicked DDT to get the win.

Non-Title Match

Arch Kinkaid (invitee) vs. King of Cable "The Show" Joe Corey w/ Alexis Laree

Kinkaid gave Corey little trouble and barely made him break a sweat. The King of Cable punished Kinkaid by going to his lower back, softening it up. After a few shots to the bread basket, Kinkaid tried to rally but Corey swatted away a dropkick and locked in "The Cage", leaving Kinkaid no choice but to give it up in just under 4 minutes.

Non-Title Match

Trish Stratus vs. Women's Champion Gail Kim

Uprising ended with a fast paced matchup between 2 of the most skilled ladies on the roster. After using her matrix to avoid a clothesline, Trish blasted Gail with the Chick Kick and it looked like it was over. But Jazz came out and the distraction allowed Gail to roll Trish up from behind with a handful of her pants to get the pin. Afterwards, Gail grabbed her title and locked eyes with the #1 contender Jazz in a heated staredown. The shot then faded out as the crew got the set ready for Rampage.

RAMPAGE GOES LIVE

AS RAMPAGE COMES ON THE AIR, THE REPLAY OF THE UNDERTAKER BEING ATTACKED BY DREW BLOOD IS SHOWN FROM LAST WEEK. "ACROSS THE NATION" THEN REVS UP AND THE OPENING PACKAGE RUNS. ONCE THE ARENA COMES INTO THE SHOT, PYRO FIRES UP AND POUNDS IN THE RAFTERS AS THE CROWD, BURSTING WITH ENERGY, GOES WILD. AS JIM ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER OPEN THE SHOW, VICTORIA's "I AIN'T THE LADY TO MESS WITH" HITS AND SHE COMES OUT CARRYING A LEATHER STRAP.

MEANWHILE, A REPLAY IS SHOWN FROM THE RAMPAGE IN WHICH ALEX MIRAN ATTACKED HER IN THE BACKSTAGE AREA WITH A STRAP.

Leather Strap Match: Victoria vs. Alex Miran

These two ladies were downright vicious with one another in the NO DQ atmosphere and it was a relentless Victoria who took it to Miran. After a powerbomb, Victoria rolled her over to lash her across the back with the strap but Miran pulled something out and rolled over, spraying it into the eyes of Victoria. It was some kind of pepper spray or mace and Victoria was screaming that her eyes were burning. Referee Jose Mendez could do nothing about it though and Miran pulled the strap back, whipping Victoria over the head with it. Victoria crumpled to the mat and Miran rolled her up for the pin, setting off a barrage of boos.

BACKSTAGE...... AREA......

TODD GRISHAM TRIES TO INTERVIEW STEVEN RICHARDS AND MR. MATURE ABOUT COSTING SCOTT STEINER HIS MATCH LAST WEEK BUT THEY ARE VERY UNCOOPERATIVE, SAYING ONLY THAT WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND WHEN REFERRING TO STEINER AND RICHARDS THROWS OUT THE NAME SHAWN MICHAELS, REMINDING FANS THAT AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER, BOTH MEN PUT ONE OF HIS GROUPS OUT OF WORK.

COMMERCIAL BREAK....

RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE.....

Scott Steiner vs. "Mr. Mature" Oliver Worth w/ Steven Richards

Richards tried to interject himself in this one early but referee Jim Korderas was having none of it, sending him backstage. As Richards protested the decision, Steiner took the match over, throwing Worth all over the ring. After a Steiner Line, Alex Miran came running back to the ring and with Worth distracting Korderas, she sprayed the same mace-like substance in Steiner's eyes. Steiner rubbed them furiously but turned right into the "Maturer" which put him flat on his back and Worth covered him to pick up the huge upset.

Match Time: 3:30

A REPLAY IS SHOWN FROM LAST WEEK OF THE CONFRONTATION BETWEEN JOHN CENA AND BRADSHAW WITH J.R. AND THE KING DESCRIBING THE INCIDENT.

IN A PRE-RECORDED STATEMENT, CENA HAS SOME HARSH WORDS FOR BRADSHAW, SAYING THAT IF HE WERE TO EVER BECOME PRESIDENT, 75% OF THE POPULATION WOULD RELOCATE TO A DIFFERENT COUNTRY AND THE OTHER 25% WOULD BE ALL THE STUCK UP RICH PEOPLE WHO AGREE WITH HIS BELIEFS.

BACKSTAGE......

THE HURRICANE FINDS STEPHANIE McMAHON AND BRINGS UP LAST WEEK's KISS WITH TAYLOR MADE, CALLING IT THE MOST DISGUSTING DISPLAY HE'D EVER SEEN. BEING THE TWF's RESIDENT SUPERHERO, HURRICANE OFFERS TO MAKE TAYLOR PAY. EVEN THOUGH STEPH SAYS IT's UNNECESSARY, HURRICANE INSISTS AND GETS THE MATCH.

Nemesis and Sam Wilde vs. Under A Brotha Services w/ Teddy Long

Nemesis and Morgan were quite an attraction here as fans rose to their feet when they got in together. Late in the match, Morgan whipped Nemesis into the steel steps outside the ring but when he got on the apron to return to the ring, he was knocked back to the floor by Wilde. But Wilde turned into the legal man Blaze and he kicked him in the midsection, following that up with the "Up in Smoke" facebuster and just like that, it was over as Long went into a ridiculous dance.

Match Time: 11:23

COMMERCIAL BREAK.......

RETURN FROM BREAK....

SPEAKING FROM A DARK, FOGGY CEMETARY, THE UNDERTAKER HAS A GRIM MESSAGE FOR DREW BLOOD, SAYING RETURN WILL BE SHORT LIVED, HIS FATE HAS NOW BEEN CHOSEN AND HE WILL SOON HAVE A MEETING WITH THE REAPER.

Drew Blood vs. Cyclone

Unexpectedly, this turned into a great match and was easily the best Cyclone has ever looked in the TWF. He matched Drew Blood move for move and after ducking a clothesline, he kicked him in the stomach and delivered a Crash Landing piledriver, a move that is also known as the Styles Clash. Blood was able to kick out and recover with a series of 3 german suplexes that would make Chris Benoit proud. Cyclone hung tough but in the end, Drew Blood proved he hadn't lost a step as Cyclone went for a chokeslam but Drew kicked him in the kneecap and reeled him in for the "BloodBath" for the academic 3 count.

Match Time: 11:44

PARKING LOT......

CAMERAS OUT IN THE PARKING LOT WERE SET ON A PARKED CAR WITH JOR COREY STANDING OUTSIDE WITH ALEXIS LAREE HOLDING THE KING OF CABLE TITLE. COREY ASKED SOMEONE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND A LARGE, BALD HEADED MAN STEPPED OUT. COREY INTRODUCED HIM AS CARNEY's NEXT OPPONENT IN THE SMW CHALLENGE---RECON RAGE! THE 3 OF THEM THEN GOT INTO THE BACKSEAT OF THE VEHICLE AND IT LEFT THE ARENA.

BACK INSIDE, CHUCK PALUMBO WAS SHOWN WALKING TO THE RING WITH A PURPOSE IN STREET CLOTHES BUT WHILE HE WAS, A PROMO GRAPHIC WITH THE DOOMSDAY BACKGROUND POPPED UP PREVIEWING A MATCH THAT WAS JUST SIGNED: HIGH OCTANE VS. AUSTIN PYROMANIA. AT THAT TIME, J.R. ALSO REMINDED FANS THAT TONIGHT's MAIN EVENT IS A CAN'T MISS BETWEEN KURT ANGLE AND SHELTON BENJAMIN.

PALUMBO CALLS OUT HIS FORMER TAG TEAM PARTNER SHAWN STASIAK AND DESPITE JACKIE GAYDA COMING OUT WITH HIM AND TRYING TO HOLD HIM BACK, STASIAK MAKES IT TO THE RING AND THE FIGHT IS ON. AFTER THE 2 TRADED SHOTS, JACKIE TRIED TO GET BETWEEN THEM BUT CAUGHT AN INADVERTENT ELBOW TO THE FACE FROM PALUMBO. PALUMBO QUICKLY LEFT THE RING AS STASIAK DROPPED DOWN TO CHECK ON JACKIE.

COMMERCIAL BREAK......

RETURN FROM BREAK.....

JACKIE GAYDA IS SHOWN BEING TAKEN AWAY ON A STRETCHER WITH STASIAK AT HER SIDE AS CONCERNED FANS LOOK ON.

BACKSTAGE.....

A CAMERA CLOSE UP SHOWS TAYLOR MADE APPLYING CHAP STICK TO HIS LIPS AND BOTH TERRI AND DESIRE CONGRATULATE HIM FOR KISSING STEPHANIE LAST WEEK. TAYLOR SAYS HE "COULD TELL SHE LIKED IT".

Eddie Guerrero vs. Jamal w/ Crystal Carmichael and Rosey

Eddie had a tough time getting in any offense due to the size of Jamal. Jamal was ready to pull the huge upset after a throw up Samoan drop. But he missed with the Air Samoan splash off the top rope when Eddie moved and Eddie immediately went to one of the other corners. He smacked his chest and yelled into the crowd before coming off the the Frog Splash, hooking the leg for the 3 count. After the match, Rosey tried to jump Eddie from behind but he was avle to slip out just in time as the camera got a shot of Crystal who was definitely upset.

Match Time: 11:07

BACKSTAGE.......

CAMERAS PICK UP AN ALTERCATION IN WHICH STACY KIEBLER WAS DOING HER BEST TO CALM AUSTIN PYROMANIA DOWN DUE TO STEPHANIE GIVING HIGH OCTANE THE NIGHT OFF. JUST THEN, CHRISTIAN AND A-TRAIN CAME UP AND CHRISTIAN TELLS PYRO HE's LUCKY OCTANE IS OFF BECAUSE THAT MEANS HE WOULDN'T GET HIS ASS KICKED BY HIM TONIGHT. PYRO THOUGHT FOR A SECOND ABOUT DECKING CHRISTIAN BUT THOUGHT BETTER OF IT AND LEFT OPEN A CHALLENGE TO HIM FOR NEXT WEEK's RAMPAGE AND SAID "WE'LL SEE WHO GETS THEIR ASS KICKED THEN". PYRO AND STACY WALKED AWAY AS A-TRAIN HELD CHRISTIAN BACK.

Taylor Made w/ Terri and Desire vs. The Hurricane

This turned out to be another great match in which Hurricane really seemed to be fighting for a purpose. He was all over Taylor until Terri provided distraction while Desire was with referee Chad Patton. Taylor then connected with a discus punch which opened up the offense for him. But when Hurricane got back into it with a superkick, the divas tried to pull the same trick but Hurricane went and grabbed Terri, kissing her on the mouth. Taylor then missed with a wild clothesline and Hurricane hit the Eye of the Hurricane before going to the top rope and coming off with the Overcap, quickly hooking the leg for the win. Hurricane went into a big celebration with the crowd after the win.

TWF RE-WIND

SHOWS THE HIGHLIGHT FROM LAST WEEK IN WHICH KURT ANGLE COST EDDIE GUERRERO AND SHELTON BENJAMIN A CHANCE TO WIN THE TAG TEAM TITLES.

Kurt Angle vs. Shelton Benjamin

As Benjamin and Angle stared across the ring at each other after introductions, a man came from the back side of the ring and attacked Benjamin. Angle joined in and the two men dealt Benjamin a serious beating. The camera revealed the man to be 2004 Egyptian Olympic gold medalist Karam Ibrahim, a man the TWF has been in negotiations for months! After decimating Benjamin, Angle and Ibrahim left together to a mixed response. J.R. and the King seemed as shocked as anyone.
