The Scope

Roanoke, Virginia

Attendance: 11,428

June 25,2006

Rampage hit The Scope in Roanoke, overall a great venue for the TWF throughout the years and fans were treated to a star studded edition of Uprising to start the show.

William Regal vs. Paul Birchill

Regal laughed hysterically at the pirate outfit Birchill had on, but Birchill's ring skills were no laughing matter as he took it to Regal. But after missing with a crossbody off the top rope, Birchill took two knees to the head before Regal got a running start and kneed him in the face. Regal's bruising style would keep Birchill on the mat for the next several minutes but he fought his way up and after escaping Regal's attempt at a double underhook suplex, he hit him with the "Walking the Plank" and covered him for the 3 count.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Finlay

Another great match on Uprising as the athletic Benjamin took on the tough Irishman Finlay. Finlay controlled most of the match, really taking it to Benjamin. But off an irish whip to the corner, Finlay posted his shoulder when Shelton moved and then fell into the t-bone suplex which got Benjamin the win.

THE FANS CELEBRATED WITH BENJAMIN BUT JUST AS UPRISING WENT OFF THE AIR, SHELTON WAS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY FINLAY WHO HIT HIM SEVERAL TIMES WITH HIS SHILLELAGH.

RAMPAGE GOES LIVE

*** THIS EDITION OF RESULTS WILL BE IN CONDENSED FORM.

AS RAMPAGE COMES ON THE AIR, FOOTAGE IS SHOWN FROM LAST WEEK OF STEPHANIE McMAHON GAINING A VICTORY OVER STACY SNOW ALONG WITH MONEY MIKE DRILLING STACY WITH HIS MONEY FILLED BRIEFCASE AFTER THE MATCH. THE CLIP CUTS OUT ON THE LOOK JASON OLIVER HAD ON HIS FACE FOLLOWING THAT HIDEOUS ATTACK BEFORE CUTTING INTO THE OPENING MONTAGE AS "ACROSS THE NATION" PLAYED.

THE SCOPE CAME INTO THE SHOT AND THE MUSIC OF HOLLYWOOD HEAT PLAYED AS JOHNNY BLAZE CAME OUT ALONG WITH JOEY MERCURY BUT CONSPICUOUS BY HER ABSCENCE WAS MELINA WHICH JIM ROSS POINTED OUT IMMEDIATELY AS HE AND "THE KING" JERRY LAWLER OPENED THE BROADCAST ON USA.

Triple Threat Match

Joey Mercury w/ Johnny Blaze vs. Trevor Murdoch w/ Lance Cade vs. Carney w/ J.J. Ramplin

A future tag team title shot went to the team who won this match and all 3 of these guys went all out, trying to get that win for their team. Shortly into the match, The Bashams came out for a closer look, their tag team title belts draped over their shoulders. Carney went to the top rope and came off with a missile dropkick, drilling Murdoch when Mercury avoided it. But Mercury grabbed Carney and hit a nice impaler DDT, rolling him over for the 1.......2........., but Carney was up. With the referee being distracted by Ramplin, Blaze came in and he and Mercury tried to deliver the "Director's Cut" on Carney but Cade came into the ring and hit Mercury in the back of the head. Blaze ran at Cade but got backdropped over the top rope. Ramplin came into the ring and went for the "Ram's Horns" on Cade but as he ran in, Murdoch came with a running shoulder that knocked him across the ring. Referee Chad Patton worked on getting Ramplin out of the ring as Carney set Cade up for the "C-Drive" but Cade countered out of it and he and Murdoch combined to hit the "Sweet and Sour" on him and Murdoch made the cover for the victory.

Match Time: 6:33

AS CADE AND MURDOCH's MUSIC PLAYED, THEY EXNGAGED IN A STAREDOWN WITH THE BASHAMS WHO JUST HELD UP THEIR TITLE BELTS.

BACKSTAGE AREA.......

KRISTAL IS SHOWN IN THE BACK AND SHE IS WALKING HURRIEDLY TOWARDS MATT CRUZ.

Kristal: "Matt..... can you just give us some words about what happened in your match with Mysterio last week? Or can you tell us how you feel"?

CRUZ SUDDENLY STOPS AND TURNS TO KRISTAL WITH A LOOK WE'VE NEVER SEEN ON THE FACE OF CRUZ. HE SAYS NOTHING AND JUST WALKS AWAY, LEAVING HER HIGHLY DISCOURAGED.

COMMERCIAL BREAK.......

RETURN FROM BREAK......

THE CANADIAN FLAG APPEARS ACROSS THE WHOLE SCREEN AS ROB STORM STEPS INTO THE SHOT IN A DARK SUIT WITH A RED TIE. HE PROUDLY LOOKS FORWARD AND SMILES AS A VOICE BEGINS TO SPEAK.

Voiceover: "After years of sitting idly by, he can no longer do it. His time has come to speak up and solve all of the world's problems. He must get rid of all of the tyranny and injustices that occur everywhere, especially in America. He must make his voice heard, regardless of what it takes to do so. He must become a leader and an advocate for what is truly right. This man has friends in high places, who will help him become that leader. This man finally knows what he has to do. Watch out Rampage, it's just about time for things to change......for the better".

Mark Henry and Carlito vs. Charlie Haas and Mackenzie Rose

After battling in singles competition over the last few weeks, these two teams met up as the newly formed Haas and Rose faced Carlito and his bodyguard, the world's strongest man, Mark Henry. Henry started the match off and just bullied both Haas and Rose. After a big clothesline took Rose down, he drilled Haas with a kick to the face as he ran in. Carlito made the tag and tried to use his kneecracker on Rose but Rose countered and put him down with a spinebuster. He and Haas then combined for a double hip toss slam before they both turned to Henry, drilling him with right hands to either side of the head. Referee Jim Korderas was able to get Haas out of the ring and Carlito reversed an irish whip, drilling Rose with a clothesline. Henry tagged in and ran across the ring, nailing Haas with a forearm that knocked him to the floor before jumping onto Rose with a big splash. But from that position, Henry amazingly lifted Rose up in his arms, standing up with him almost like a dead lift before driving him into the mat with the "World's Strongest Slam" and that provided an academic 3 count.

Match Time: 5:31

BACKSTAGE......

REX REDFORD IS WALKING IN THE BACK WHEN HE BUMPS INTO ARMANDO ALEJANDRO ESTRADA, COMPLETELY BY ACCIDENT.

Armando Alejandro Estrada: "Pardon you amigo, do you know who I am? My name es Armando Ale....

Rex Redford: "I don't care who you are".

Estrada: "Oh, you're that newcomer, Rex something. Well let me tell you what Rex, it just so happens that my man, the Samoan bulldozer is here tonight and he is always looking for a fight. So if you have the cajones, why don't you accept our..... como se dice...... challenge, and come to the ring tonight?! Ha ha"!

JUST THEN, REDFORD TAKES THE CIGAR OUT OF ESTRADA's MOUTH AND SNAPS IT IN HALF, DROPPING IT ON THE FLOOR AND WALKING AWAY.

Johnny Jeter vs. Jeff Hardy

This was a match that the fans really seemed to be looking forward to. After being introduced, Jeter told Jeff he would show him how strong the force of Mattitude really is and then maybe he will see why his brother Matt does not want to be the way he used to be. Jeff came out and started out very aggressive although Jeter was able to hit the first impactful move of the match, his spinning roundhouse kick to the face. Jeff rolled out of the ring, trying to regroup but Jeter drilled him with a baseball slide. Outside the ring, Jeter took the fight to Jeff but Jeff was able to reverse an irish whip, sending him into the ring steps. Jeff then ran along the barricade blocking the fans and flew off with a clothesline on Jeter. Jeff rolled him back into the ring and went to the top rope, looking for the Swanton Bomb. But at the last second, Jeter got his knees up, driving them into Jeff's back. Jeter then picked Jeff up onto his shoulders but Jeff alertly slipped free, landing behind him and catching him with a reverse version of the Twist of Fate and he covered Jeter as the fans counted along the 1..........2...........3.

Match Time: 7:16

CAMERAS IN THE BACK SHOW CRYSTAL CARMICHAEL SURROUNDED BY THE 4 MEMBERS OF THE SPIRIT SQUAD AND SHE SEEMS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.

Crystal Carmichael: "So, what is it that you guys want anyway"?

Mitch: "Like we just said, you don't seem to have anything to do lately, so we had an idea".

Kenny: "Yeah, and you're all rested up, so you should be able to handle all four of us".

KENNY, MIKEY, MITCH AND NICKY ALL LAUGH AS CRYSTAL's JAW DROPS IN DISGUST BUT SHE RESPONDS BY SLAPPING MITCH ACROSS THE FACE AND WALKING AWAY.

COMMERCIAL BREAK.......

RETURN FROM BREAK.... BACKSTAGE......

MICK FOLEY IS SHOWN IN THE BACK DIRECTING A FEW STAGEHANDS WHO ARE ARRANGING A TABLE IN HIS OFFICE. HE IS TAPPED ON THE SHOULDER AND TURNS AROUND TO SEE SLAUGHTERHOUSE GENERAL MANAGER JESSE STEELE.

Mick Foley: "Oh, hey Jesse, I didn't realize you bought a ticket to tonight's show".

Jesse Steele: "I didn't Mick, I was given access to the arena tonight".

Foley (laughs): "That's a good one Jesse..... you're not kidding, are you"?

Steele: "No Mick, I'm here tonight to scout talent. I'm here to find out how many guys on Rampage want to be a part of something a little different, something where a ton of oppurtunity exists...... something known as SlaughterHouse".

Foley: "Well, I honestly don't think you'll find anyone but I have a meeting in a few minutes with Trish and Melina so I'll catch ya later".

Mark Jindrak and Viscera w/ Crystal Carmichael vs. The Spirit Squad: Kenny and Nicky w/ Mikey and Mitch

Viscera didn't seem too thrilled with the comments made earlier by the Spirit Squad but he never really got a chance to get going here. As Mitch came over to irritate Crystal, Vis came out of the ring which is exactly what he wanted. Nicky then popped up from the side of the apron and a clothesline before sounding off one of their blow horns right in the 500 pounder's ear. With referee Jose Mendez' attention on this, Mikey used a mini trampoline to fly into the ring and take Jindrak to the mat with a bulldog. Kenny then came off the top rope with an incredible legdrop and rolled Jindrak over to get the 3 count.

After the match, Crystal tried to check on Viscera but she was attacked by a girl wearing a Spirit Squad cheerleader outfit which had the name Ashley K. embroidered on the back. After whipping Crystal into the ring apron, Ashley gave her a swift kick to the chest before leaving with the rest of the Spirit Squad to a lot of boos.

Match Time: 2:09

BACKSTAGE.......

TODD GRISHAM IS SHOWN IN THE BACK WITH TATANKA.

Todd Grisham: "Here with me at this time in Tatanka, who recently became a member of the Lakota tribe and Tatanka, we have just learned that next week, right here on Rampage, you will go one on one with Muhammad Hassan".

Tatanka: "Hassan, you might not care about your heritage or where you came from, but I do. You see, the Lakotas are proud, proud people who have fought discrimination all their lives. But do they complain about it? No. Last week, when you destroyed that headdress, something very special to me and my people, you sealed your fate. And next week, when I face you in the ring, I will be on the warpath and you will experience the most devastating loss of your TWF career".

MAX OGDEN COMES TO THE RING WITH JIMMY HART AND GETS A MICROPHONE. KNOWING JAKE ROBERTS IS IN THE BUILDING TONIGHT, HE CALLS HIM OUT, SAYING HE WANTS TO TALK TO HIM FACE TO FACE. THE HALL OF FAMER COMES TO THE RING, WITH HIS TRADEMARK GREEN BAG. HE GETS IN THE RING AND GETS NOSE TO NOSE WITH OGDEN AS A LOUD "JAKE" CHANT STARTS UP. OGDEN TELLS JAKE THAT RATHER THAN FIGHT HIM, HE WANTS TO START OVER AND GIVE HIM THE RESPECT HE IS DUE. OGDEN OFFERS HIS HAND AND AFTER BRIEFLY HESITATING, JAKE SHAKES IT. OGDEN GOES ON TO SAY HE HAS REALIZED WHAT HIS REAL PROBLEM IS AND THAT PROBLEM IS JIMMY HART. WITH THAT, OGDEN KNOCKS THE GLASSES OFF OF HART's FACE WITH A RIGHT HAND! SYLVAIN GRENIER COMES TO THE RING BUT RUNS INTO ROBERTS WHO PUTS HIM DOWN WITH THE DDT BEFORE GOING TO HIS BAG. HART ROLLS OUT OF THE RING IN SHEER FEAR AS JAKE TAKES A HUGE PYTHON OUT AND DRAPES IT OVER THE BODY OF GRENIER! THE CROWD IS LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

BACKSTAGE......

JASON OLIVER IS IN HIS DRESSING ROOM, TAPING HIS FISTS. THE KING OF CABLE TITLE GLISTENS AS IT SITS NEXT TO HIM ON A BENCH. JUST THEN, MONEY MIKE ENTERS THE ROOM.

Money Mike: "Jason, I'm outta here man".

Jason Oliver: "You're what"?

Mike: "This.... this Starman stuff, it's just getting to me man, I gotta get away. Steph and I have made arrangements and we are going away... on a cruise".

Oliver: "A cruise? What about our match later"?

Mike: "Find a partner, anyone you want. You call the shots right now man because until I get back...... you are in charge of the Horsemen. I gotta go, we leave in a few minutes".

MIKE LEAVES THE ROOM AS OLIVER DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT TO THINK.

RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE.....

Umaga w/ Armando Alejandro Estrada vs. Rex Redford

Redford accepted the challenge of Umaga but probably wished he didn't. After trading shots with the huge Samoan, Redford tried to lift him for a slam but was clubbed across the back and then taken down with a headbutt. Umaga then picked the rookie up and ran with him, driving him into the corner. Redfore fell to a seated position and Umaga came running across the ring, driving his posterior into the head of Redford. Redford's head snapped back in a nasty way as Umaga dragged him by the arm into the center of the ring and went to the top rope. He then came off with the big Samoan splash and stuck his tongue out as referee Scott Martin made the 3 count.

Match Time: 4:03

BACKSTAGE..... MICK FOLEY's OFFICE......

TRISH STRATUS ENTERS FOLEY's OFFICE AND RECEIVES A DIRTY LOOK FROM MELINA, WHO IS ALREADY THERE.

Foley: "Thank you for joining us for this important meeting Trish, I will be right with the two of you".

TRISH HAS A SEAT AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO RINGSIDE.

Jason Oliver and J.J. "The Ram" Ramplin vs. "High Octane" Damion West and Rey Mysterio

Oliver found a partner in fellow Horseman J.J. Ramplin and they took turns hammering on the speedy team of Mysterio and West. After a great match, Oliver countered out of a leg-o-matic attempt by West and blasted him with a clothesline. He then delivered a jackhammer suplex and made the cover but Rey came in to break it up. Oliver and Ramplin made an illegal exchange as Rey was escorted back to his corner and The Ram took the fight to West, driving his shoulder into his abdomen in the corner. But after backing up a bit, Ramplin ran in and West caught him with his superkick. Both men were down ut Ramplin was out. West did all he could to get to his corner and he finally slapped the hand of Rey who jumped into the ring, drilling Oliver with a right hand. Ramplin got to his feet but Rey was waiting with a drop toehold that put him over the middle ring rope and led to the 6-1-9. West then came in to prevent Oliver from getting involved again as Rey came off the top ring rope with his springboard legdrop to the back of Ramplin's head and he rolled him over to get the 1......2........3, gaining even more momentum as he heads towards a match with Oliver for the King of Cable title.

Match Time: 7:17

BACKSTAGE.......

FANS ARE INTRIGUED TO SEE A CONVERSATION TAKING PLACE BETWEEN JESSE STEELE AND JOE COREY. THE CAMERA MOVES IN ON IT.

Joe Corey: "It's a great offer, there's no doubt about it. But if I took it, it would change what I have already set up and trust me Mister Steele, you don't want to miss this".

Steele: "Fair enough, (shakes Corey's hand) I have one more guy to talk to before I leave".

COMMERCIAL BREAK.........

RETURN FROM BREAK....... FOLEY's OFFICE........

CAMERAS PICK UP THE MEETING BETWEEN MICK FOLEY, MELINA AND TRISH STRATUS.

Foley: "So essentially what I have is two of my top divas nearly killing each other week in and week out on Rampage, not to mention one of them is the Women's champion. So I ask you ladies, what can we do to resolve this"?

Trish Stratus: "She can stay out of my business".

Melina: "Ya know Mick, I have an idea. I want a match with Trish. Don't worry, I don't want your title, you can hang onto that. What I want is this. We wrestle for the contractual services of Travis. If I win, I become his new manager. If you win, you hang onto his services and I will never mess with you again".

Foley: "Uh, is that okay with you Trish"?

Trish: "Okay? That's more than okay with me. If I can get the chance to get her out of my life for good..... you bet it's okay".

TRISH STANDS FROM HER SEAT AND GRABS HER BELT, WALKING OUT OF THE OFFICE AS MELINA IS SHOWN WITH A HUGE SMILE ON HER FACE. OUTSIDE THE OFFICE, ROB VAN DAM AND JOHN CENA APPROACH FOLEY, BOTH FEELING THEY ARE DESERVING OF A WORLD TITLE SHOT AND FOLEY TELLS THEM HE WILL FIND A SOLUTION.

TWF World Title Match

Challenger: Kurt Angle vs. Travis Wakeman

This match had been heavily promoted all night and with good reason as it was possibly the greatest match in the history of Rampage on tv. Both men, very technically sound, tried to gain the upper hand on the mat. Angle started out in control, using his uncanny ability on the mat to get Wakeman in a front facelock before driving his knees into his head. Wakeman fought out of the hold and countered with a backdrop suplex. But even though he was just dropped on his head, Angle grabbed Wakeman's foot and tried to get him in the ankle lock. Wakeman rolled forward, flipping Angle over him before grabbing his right arm, trying to somehow take it into a crossface. There of course was the stipulation that if Wakeman could make Angle tap out, Angle would leave Rampage forever. Angle fought off all of Wakeman's submission attempts but after tripping him up with a double leg, Wakeman got him in the Sharpshooter and turned it over. With his career on the line, Angle did a push up, trying to fight the pain. Wakeman had it in tight but somehow, Angle was able to fight his way to the bottom rope to earn a break. Wakeman would go to the top rope but Angle, showing his true ability, ran up the turnbuckle and threw him off with an overhead belly to belly. Feeling he had things under control, Angle grabbed him for the ankle lock. It looked like not only would Wakeman be losing the title, but he would be the one tapping out. But the desire in Wakeman's eyes was still evident and even with Angle falling to the mat and grapeviving the hold, he was still able to reach the bottom rope to earn a break. Angle stayed on him with right hands and he tried to pick his leg for a standing version of the ankle lock. But Wakeman jabbed him with a forearm and grabbed him in a cobra clutch. But Angle quickly sat down with a jawbreaker to counter and this caused a cut on Wakeman's lower lip. Angle then ran at him with a clothesline but Wakeman ducked and immediately grabbed Angle in the Round Table, which is a dragon sleeper/chicken wing combo. He muscled Angle to the mat and with all his might, he pulled back on it. Referee Jim Korderas was down yelling "What do you say"? as Angle got his hand ready. Angle tried to escape by rolling over but all he did was make it worse. Wakeman was now pulling on the hold with all he had and after being in it for over a minute, Angle tapped out!

Match Time: 17:09

J.R.: "He did it! Can you believe this King, Travis Wakeman has made Kurt Angle tap out"!

Jerry Lawler: "I never thought I'd see this J.R. but he did it and now, Kurt Angle is gone from Rampage"!

KURT ANGLE LAID ON THE MAT, ALMOST IN A TRANCE AS WAKEMAN LEFT WITH THE TITLE RAISED UP IN HIS RIGHT HAND AS "MAKE WAY" PLAYED AND THE FANS WENT NUTS.

J.R.: "Travis Wakeman is still the champion and now, we've got an Olympic gold medalist looking for work"!

OFF AIR........
