Rampage ran it's second show of the year from the RBC Center and there was over 15,000 fans once again for a huge show on the road to MeltDown. It all got started off with Uprising. Chris Platoon vs. Jeff Hardy The night got started off with a rematch from last week's edition of Uprising. Platoon was out to hand Hardy another loss, using the same strategy he did last week. But after being whipped to the corner, Jeff jumped to the top rope and came off with the Whisper in the Wind. After a flipover legdrop, Jeff ran the ropes but missed with a flying forearm. Platoon tried to set up the "Last Chance", but Jeff escaped and hit a reverse Twist of Fate to get the 3 count, avenging last week's defeat. Roucka vs. Monica Monica, who has been known throughout her career as the manager and wife of Eddie Saint James, showed she could get it done in the ring as well against an overmatched Roucka. After thouroughly dominating Roucka, Monica used a stiff DDT to plant her head into the mat before rolling her over for the win. Non-Title Match World's Greatest Tag Team vs. Rampage Tag Team champs: Knockout-Tapout Connection Uprising's main event was a very good one, as these two teams had a great match. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas knew a win could vault them into a title match, so they gave ECW's Elijah Burke and Sylvester Terkay all they could handle. Haas and Benjamin were rolling after Haas held Burke over the top rope and Benjamin ran the ropes, leaping over his partner and landing right on Burke. Terkay ran in with a clothesline but Haas lowbridged the top rope and sent the ECW World champion sailing to the floor. Benjamin then went outside to hold the Manbear off, but in the ring, Burke got in a lowblow that the referee never saw before putting Haas down with the "Elijah Experience". He then covered him for the 1.........2..........3. FANS BOOED AS LOUD AS THEY COULD WHILE "MISERIA CANTARE" PLAYED AND BURKE AND TERKAY WALKED OFF WITH THEIR BELTS HELD HIGH IN VICTORY. THE STAGE CREW GOT THINGS SET FOR RAMPAGE AS LILIAN GARCIA ENTERED THE RING TO ANNOUNCE TO THE LIVE CROWD THAT THEY WERE 60 SECONDS AWAY FROM BEING LIVE ON THE USA NETWORK! RAMPAGE GOES LIVE
RAMPAGE OPENS WITH IT's USUAL MONTAGE VIDEO WHILE "TO BE LOVED" PLAYS. THE SHOT THEN OPENS INSIDE THE RBC CENTER TO AN IMPRESSIVE DISPLAY OF PYRO, WHICH NEARLY DROWNS OUT THE CHEERS OF OVER 15,000 FANS. Jim Ross: "Hello and welcome once again to TWF Rampage, live on USA! We are in Raleigh, North Carolina and King, we are movin' and movin' fast towards MeltDown"! Jerry Lawler: "These folks in Tar Heel country can feel it too..... listen to this"! BOOS FILTER INTO THE ARENA WHEN "COME ON" BY WATERPROOF BLONDE PLAYS AND SEAN O'HAIRE COMES OUT, HEADED TO THE RING. J.R.: "A huge show in store including a sit down interview with Travis Wakeman, I can't wait for that but it will take place later, right now, we're kickin' things off with tag team action". "REQIUEM" BY TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA PLAYS AND SEBASTIAN CAIN STEPS OUT, HEADING TO THE RING. Lawler: "Well I tried to get a word with this guy earlier tonight, but I was told he was on an important phone call and he didn't look too happy when he came out". J.R.: "We know that Sebastian Cain seems to be having some family problems back home, but he's off to a great start in his TWF career and I know Sean O'Haire would like to take some of the credit for that". THE CROWD LOUDLY POPS WHEN "OUT OF MY WAY" BY SEETHER COMES ON AND DYLAN JANSENS COMES OUT. Lawler: "And here comes Dylan Jansens', who hasn't had the start he was looking for on Rampage, to say the least". J.R.: "Well that has to do with the fact that he turned down and offer to join this..... well whatever it is that Sean O'Haire and Sebastian Cain have going on. He lost a handicapped match to these two on the last Rampage, but Rowdy Roddy Piper promised to give him a tag team partner tonight". Lawler: "Yeah, but he never said who it was". "OUT OF MY WAY" CUTS OUT AND THERE IS A BRIEF PAUSE AS THE CROWD ANTICIPATES THE ENTRANCE OF JANSENS' PARTNER. THEY GO NUTS WHEN "YOU'RE LOOKIN' AT THE REAL DEAL NOW" IS HEARD AND D'LO BROWN's MUSIC COMES ON! D'LO STEPS OUT TO A GREAT APPLAUSE, HEADING TO THE RING AS O'HAIRE AND CAIN START TO STRATEGIZE. J.R.: "Look at this! It's D'Lo Brown"! Lawler: "Wow, I certainly wasn't expecting this, and neither was the team of O'Haire and Sebastian! I don't think this is really all that fair, they had no way to prepare for D'Lo Brown"! J.R.: "Like Dylan Jansens being in a one on two situation last week was fair"? Sean O'Haire and Sebastian Cain vs. Dylan Jansens and D'Lo Brown After the bell sounded, Jansens stepped into the ring to start the match with O'Haire, who insisted on starting the match. O'Haire grabbed Jansens in a standing side headlock but Jansens pushed him to the ropes and shot him to the other side. After dropping down to miss O'Haire, Jansens popped up with a terrific wheel kick before landing a standing moonsault to get a 2 count on O'Haire. Jansens pulled him up and blasted his body with 2 hard kicks but when he ran in for a monkey flip, O'Haire blocked it by holding the ring ropes and Jansens landed hard on his back. O'Haire then connected with a perfect roundhouse kick before making the switch to Cain. Cain came in as Jansens slowly got up and he rocked him with right hands and a kick to the midsection. Off an irish whip, Cain dropped Jansens with a clothesline before dropping a big elbow across his chest. A cover got him a 2 count, but as he picked Jansens up onto his shoulder, Jansens slipped free and delivered a nice reverse DDT. After rolling to his corner, Jansens stretched his hand out but Cain grabbed his left leg, trying to pull him back to the center of the ring. But Jansens rolled over and kicked Cain right in the face before rolling over and making the hot tag to D'Lo Brown. D'Lo came in and hit Cain with 2 right hands before stopping O'Haire before he could come into the ring, after a big hip toss on Cain, D'Lo hit the ropes and clotheslined him as he tried to sit up, a devastating move! D'lo pulled Cain up and connected with the Sky High, his sit-out powerbomb and he had the cover for the 1........2........, but the count was broken up just in time by O'Haire. D'Lo got back up and tagged Jansens back into the ring, pulling Cain to his feet. But as he whipped him to the corner, O'Haire came into the ring, drawing D'Lo back in. Referee Chad Patton had his hands full, but he ordered D'Lo back to his corner. O'Haire used this as an oppurtunity to sneak in and deliver the "Widow Maker" to Jansens and Cain the fell atop him as Patton turned to issue the 3 count. Match Time: 6:04 J.R.: "Ah come on! A cheap shot by Sean O'Haire has won this match and spoiled the return for D'Lo Brown"! Lawler: "Sebastian Cain got the pin, but it was O'Haire's finishing move that allowed him to do it"! O'HAIRE STARTED TO WALK OFF, ALLOWING CAIN TO GET HIS HAND RAISED BY HIMSELF AS "REQUIEM" PLAYED AGAIN. CAIN SAW O'HAIRE WALKING AWAY AND HE LEFT THE RING AS WELL AS D'LO CAME IN TO HELP HIS PARTNER UP. J.R.: "This weird relationship between O'Haire and Cain has raised many questions, but it's hard to argue it's success". COMMERCIAL BREAK......... A COMMERCIAL FOR STAPLE's IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A PREVIEW FOR THE MOVIE "TROPIC THUNDER". RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE....... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, TODD GRISHAM IS STANDING BY WITH ROWDY RODDY PIPER, WHO LOOKS VERY EXCITED. Todd Grisham: "I am here with the interim General Manager of Rampage, the Hot Rod himself, Rowdy......... Roddy Piper: "Sorry to cut you off, kid, but let's get right down to business. These great fans in Raleigh came to see some wrestlin'! Muhammad Hassan..... I said I would have something for you, and I got somethin'! Last time I checked, you were still a part of the active roster here on Rampage, so you better polish off those wrestling boots because you have a match at MeltDown...... against Travis Wakeman"! GRISHAM LOOKS SHOCKED AT THE ANNOUNCEMENT AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING. TWO YOUNG WRESTLERS ARE IN THE RING AND LILIAN GARCIA INTRODUCES THEM AS UPCOMING SUPERSTARS GABE TUFT AND GREG JACKSON. "PRICELESS" A TWIST OF PINK FLOYD's SONG "MONEY" COMES ON AND TED DIBIASE, JR. COMES OUT WITH CODY RHODES, BOTH MEN STRUTTING TO THE RING. Lawler: "Wow! Can you believe that announcement?! I think we've all been waiting for Muhammad Hassan to get his for years and we might actually see it at MeltDown"! J.R.: "A huge announcement for sure, but you talk about cockiness..... you talk about arrogance..... look at the two youngsters we've got on the way to the ring". Lawler: "Cody Rhodes has accepted the offer to join Dibiase and who knows, J.R., maybe it will work out for him". J.R.: "Cody Rhodes was able to finally get his first TWF victory a couple weeks ago, but I just think that this partnership here is a mistake. The first time they approached him, he said no, largely due to some words of wisdom from his father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes. Call me crazy, but something tells me the American Dream knew what he was talking about". Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase, Jr. vs. Gabe Tuft and Greg Jackson (invitees) Rhodes and Dibiase looked very good together and this match turned into nothing more than a walk in the park. Rhodes got his chance first, matched up against Jackson. After a nice exchange from both men, Rhodes connected with a nice dropkick before rocking Jackson with 2 stiff european style uppercuts. Jackson tagged in Tuft and Dibiase wanted his shot. Dibiase was all over Tuft and after whipping him to the ropes, he caught him with a nice powerslam before turning and drilling Jackson with a cheap shot. Dibiase then slapped on the Million Dollar Dream before using it as a russian leg sweep. Rhodes then tagged into the match and put Tuft down with a wicked DDT before rolling him over for the 3 count. Match Time: 4:07 Lawler: "Well, I'd say that worked out well! What a debut as a team"! J.R.: "It's only been one match, King, they were very impressive, but they will face tough teams down the road and their age and maturity level is sure to be a factor at some point". Lawler: "Listen to that theme song play, Priceless...... I think that describes this team pretty well". BACKSTAGE AREA........ MELINA IS SHOWN IN THE BACK NEAR THE CATERING AREA. SHE SEEMS A LITTLE DEPRESSED WHEN LUYU DAWNSTAR AND CHINA ROSE COME UP AND STAND ON EITHER SIDE OF HER. China Rose: "So, Melina, we heard that Travis Wakeman has some sort of special interview planned tonight.... what's he got to say, huh"? Melina: "I'm not gonna talk about it". Luyu Dawnstar: "It's not like we care. We came to see if we could...... ya know, take your mind off of things". CHINA STARTS TO PLAY WITH MELINA's HAIR. MELINA IS VISIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE. China: "You know what they say..... a woman can give a woman something a......... Melina: "Okay, okay, that's enough. I'm not up for this". MELINA STARTS TO WALK AWAY, BUT LUYU GRABS HER ARM. MELINA TURNS AND SLAPS THE WOMEN's CHAMPION, BUT CHINA HITS MELINA IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD, KNOCKING HER TO THE FLOOR. CHINA AND LUYU THEN KICK MELINA SEVERAL TIMES WHILE SHE's DOWN BEFORE LEAVING HER LAYING. "LIKE A PIMP" BY DA BAND COMES ON AND KELLY LEADS TAYLOR MADE OUT TO A GOOD POP. Lawler: "Did you hear what Luyu and China wanted to do?! Man, I love those two"! J.R.: "Yeah, they're also real tough attacking Melina like that, but we've got more action headed to the ring, and here comes another one of your favorites, King, Kelly". Lawler: "She looks better every time she comes out here! I've always envied Taylor Made, and that probably won't ever change"! "STRAIGHT TO VIDEO" BY MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE COMES ON AND M.X. OGDEN COMES OUT WITH CANDICE TO MOSTLY ALL BOOS. J.R.: "We know that at MeltDown, the members of GeNext will take on Austin Pyromania and Taylor Made and on the last Rampage, Jason Oliver was able to defeat Pyromania". Lawler: "And now we've got Candice out here too! Oh what a night this is"! M.X. Ogden w/ Candice vs. Taylor Made w/ Kelly The bell sounded to start the match and both men came towards each other, trading words. Ogden moved in with a kick to the gut before dropping Taylor with a straight right hand. He went for a quick senton bomb after hitting the ropes but Taylor got his knees up. Ogden got up holding his lower back and Taylor rolled him up from behind for the 1.........2..........., but Ogden narrowly escaped defeat. After a sitdown jawbreaker, Taylor whipped him to the ropes and went for a dropkick, but Ogden held the ropes to stop his momentum. After a running kick right to Taylor's face, Ogden went to the outside of the ring and then to the top rope, flying off with a legdrop. But Taylor rolled out of the way and got up, hammering Ogden with right hand after right hand before pushing him to the corner and running in with a nice bicycle kick. Taylor followed that up with a tornado DDT before covering Taylor, hooking the leg for another near fall. Taylor started to pull Ogden up but let him go when he noticed Stacy Kiebler run out from the back and push Candice into the steel ring post! The distraction allowed Ogden to get up and hit the "Memory Maker" on Taylor for the 1..........2.........3! Match Time: 4:19 J.R.: "What the hell is going on! Stacy Kiebler just attacked Candice"! Lawler: "Stacy Kiebler.... she may be my all-time favorite"! KELLY HELPED TAYLOR OUT OF THE RING AS CANDICE GOT TO HER FEET, HOLDING HER NOSE AND MOUTH WHILE YELLING AT OGDEN. STACY WAS ALL SMILES AS SHE WAS NOW IN THE RING WITH OGDEN, WHO HAD A MICROPHONE. M.X. Ogden: "Candice, I'm not gonna beat around the bush anymore...... your suspicions were correct, I found someone else. Stacy will be taking your place, and taking me to places I could never go with you....... I mean that in the ring too. So Candice, honey, have a nice life"! CANDICE HAS TEARS STREAMING DOWN HER CHEEKS AS SHE RUNS TO THE BACK IN HORROR. IN THE RING, STACY IS WAVING BYE TO HER AND OGDEN COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. J.R.: "Did he just dump Candice?! That poor girl"! Lawler: "That's what it sounded like to me! I mean, Candice is hot..... but look at Stacy"! J.R.: "I'm just starting to believe that these guys from GeNext thing they can have whatever they want and do whatever they want"! THE SHOT SWITCHES TO THE BACKSTAGE AREA, WHERE MANDO GUERRERO, OLDER BROTHER OF EDDIE GUERRERO, IS SHOWN ARRIVING AT THE ARENA. COMMERCIAL BREAK........ A COMMERCIAL FOR THE NEW LG SHINE IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A PREVIEW FOR THE MOVIE "COLLEGE". RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE...... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, LENNY ARMSTEAD IS SHOWN IN THE RING WHEN "MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN" BY ROB ZOMBIE COMES ON AND RICHARD RAMSLEY SLOWLY MAKES HIS WAY TO THE RING. THE CROWD IS SOMEWHAT SILENT DURING HIS ENTRANCE, BUT THOSE WHO ARE MAKING NOISE ARE BOOING HIM, AND HE SEEMS TO LIKE THAT. J.R.: "We are back live and we are ready for action featuring one of the most violent, vicious superstars we have seen in some time in the TWF". Lawler: "Lenny Armstead will be his opponent tonight so this will be the stiffest competition Ramsley has faced, J.R.". J.R.: "I can't think of the words to describe this young man, I hate to call him weird, but he's definitely cookier than a pet coon". Richard Ramsley vs. Lenny Armstead The bell sounded and Armstead seemed a little apprehensive about moving in on Ramsley. The two men eventually locked up and Armstead went for a hip toss but Ramsley blocked it and poked him in the eye before smashing him with a clothesline. After stomping right on the face of Armstead, Ramsley pulled him up and hit the ropes, looking for a running kick to the face. But Armstead got out of the way and kicked Ramsley right across the lower body. Armstead then began to rely on his feet, belting Ramsley with some stiff kicks before hitting a unique jumping facebuster on his knees. Armstead had gotten the crowd behind him and he went to the top rope, flying off with a crossbody, but Ramsley rolled out of the way. Armstead then got up and Ramsley used a nasty running STO, driving the head of Armstead into the back of the mat before covering him for the 3 count. Match Time: 5:18 Lawler: "Chalk another one up for Ramsley, and get Lenny Armstead some aspirin"! J.R.: "Wait a minute, what's he doing"? RAMSLEY REACHED INTO A POCKET OF THE PANTS HE WAS WEARING A PULLED OUT A PAIR OF LATEX GLOVES, PLACING THEM ON HIS HANDS. REFEREE JACK DOAN TRIED TO STOP HIM, BUT RAMSLEY PUSHED HIM OUT OF THE WAY. HE THEN BEGAN TO GRAB AND PULL AT THE EYES OF ARMSTEAD, CAUSING GREAT DISCOMFORT, EVEN FOR THOSE WATCHING. J.R.: "Somebody get him off..... this guy is deranged"! Lawler: "There..... finally he let it go"! RAMSLEY RELINQUISHED THE HOLD, AND ARMSTEAD JUST COVERED HIS FACE WITH BOTH HANDS AS "MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN" PLAYED AGAIN. RAMSLEY LEFT THE RING TO A LOT OF BOOS, HAPPY WITH HIS WORK. J.R.: "Well I'll tell ya, maybe we need to send this guy to a psychiatrist or something, I don't know what his issues are"! BACKSTAGE........ IN THE BACK, M.X. OGDEN, JASON OLIVER AND STACY KIEBLER ARE LEAVING THE ARENA WHEN TODD GRISHAM COMES UP. Todd Grisham: "Hey.... M.X., can you..... can you tell us why you would do something like that to Candice"? OGDEN STOPS AND TAKES A DEEP BREATH, ABOUT READY TO SPEAK. Jason Oliver: "Who cares? Just like a lot of these so-called superstars around here, it was time for Candice to go....... so she did. Come on, we're outta here". THE TRIO LEAVES THE ARENA BEFORE THE SHOT IS SENT BACK TO THE RING. IN THE RING, MATT CRUZ IS STANDING WITH A MICROPHONE. HE IS WEARING A PAIR OF BLUE JEANS AND A BURNT ORANGE T-SHIRT. "THE NEXT EPISODE" BY DR. DRE IS PLAYING. Matt Cruz: "Cut the music". J.R.: "We've been hearing about a big announcement coming from this man, but we have not heard anything about what Matt Cruz has to say". Matt Cruz: "I know I promised you all a big announcement, so I'm not gonna waste a lot of your time. Lately, I've been thinking about a lot of things and I realized, I'm in the prime of my life, there's so many things that I can still do. The thing is, my heart is just not really in this anymore. So rather than come out here and put on a front, I felt it was time to be honest with you guys. I mean, I'm twenty-six years old, I have a master's degree, I just think it's time for me to walk away". THE CROWD LOUDLY BOOS. J.R.: "I can't believe what we're hearing here, King". Lawler: "Yeah, this is way out of left field". Cruz: "Before I go, I wanted to say thank you to all........... SUDDENLY, CRUZ IS CUT OFF BY "VIVA LA RAZA" AND THE OLD ENTRANCE THEME OF EDDIE GUERRERO BEGINS TO PLAY. THE FANS LOUDLY POP AND OUT COMES MANDO GUERRERO, HEADED FOR THE RING. Lawler: "What the heck is this"? J.R.: "That is Mando Guerrero, older brother of the late Eddie Guerrero and we saw him arrive here earlier tonight, but what's he want with Matt Cruz"? MANDO STEPS INTO THE RING AND IS HANDED AN ADDITIONAL MICROPHONE. Mando Guerrero: "Are you crazy, son?! I heard that you might be doing this tonight, so I had to fly all the way down here to see if you were really about to be this stupid. You have it all. You won an NCAA wrestling championship...... you've got that Latino blood in you, homes"! Cruz: "Mando..... Mando, I can't...... Mando Guerrero: "No, don't say that. What a lot of these people don't know is how close you are to me and my family. I consider you familia. Eddie considered you familia. CRUZ HANGS HIS HEAD. You know what he told you, Cruzito..... do you want me to tell all these people? Before Eddie passed, he said you were going to be the best Latino wrestler of all time..... you remember that? I remember that like it was yesterday, ese! Eddie wouldn't want this...... he always stood by you..... and he always........ Matt Cruz (with tears in his eyes): "I can't be Eddie"! Mando Guerrero: "You're right....... you can't be Eddie........ but you can show everyone else what he always knew you had and who knows, maybe you'll end up being better than him. I know he thought you would be". MANDO DROPS HIS MICROPHONE AND GIVES CRUZ A HUG BEFORE LEAVING THE RING. CRUZ JUST STANDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING, DEEP IN THOUGHT AS THE SHOT FADES OUT. COMMERCIAL BREAK......... A COMMERCIAL FOR WEIGHT WATCHERS IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A PREVIEW FOR THE MOVIE "DISASTER MOVIE". RETURN FROM BREAK...... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, A PROMO GRAPHIC WITH THE MELTDOWN LOGO IS SHOWN AND IT CONTAINS THE IMAGES OF SEAN O'HAIRE, DYLAN JANSENS AND SEBASTIAN CAIN. J.R.: "We are back here on Rampage everybody and we are ready for a huge tag team match as introductions have just been made, but what an announcement for MeltDown! Rowdy Roddy Piper has just made a triple threat between Sean O'Haire, Dylan Jansens and Sebastian Cain"! Lawler: "And not only that, the man who wins that triple threat match will become the number one contender for the King of Cable title"! J.R.: "The card for MeltDown is starting to fill up, just as the ring is here! This is a main event level tag team match, King"! Lawler: "Randy Orton and J.J. Ramplin are set to battle Chris Tirpak and Axl Irvin and we know that Axl will challenge Ramplin for the King of Cable title at MeltDown, but what about what Tirpak did to Orton the last Rampage?! He's definitely about to get a receipt for that"! Randy Orton and J.J. "The Ram" Ramplin vs. Chris Tirpak and Axl Irvin As soon as Lawler finished his statement, Orton attacked Tirpak from behind and then used the middle ring rope to choke him, drawing a warning from referee Jose Mendez. Orton pulled Tirpak up and struck him with 3 hard rights before whipping him to the ropes. Tirpak ducked a clothesline and lifted Orton up, driving him into the mat with a swinging sideslam. Orton got up and Tirpak kicked him right into the face, knocking him into the ropes. After clotheslining him out of the ring, Tirpak went over and made the tag to Axl Irvin. Both Tirpak and Axl went outside the ring, going in opposite directions. Ramplin was down trying to help Orton up, but Axl ran in and dropped the King of Cable with a clothesline. Tirpak and Axl then picked Orton up and sent him back into the ring and Axl followed. But Orton was able to get in a low blow that Mendez never saw before putting Axl down with a DDT. Orton then slapped the hand of Ramplin, who came in and put the boots to the man he will face at MeltDown. Ramplin got Axl up and shot him to the corner, following in with a clothesline before driving him into the mat with a spinebuster. Ramplin made the cover, but Axl was up at 2. Tirpak was trying to motivate Axl to get to the corner, but The Ram was not having it. After a big suplex, Ramplin went to the middle turnbuckle and flew off with a front elbow, but Axl was able to roll out of the way, drawing a big cheer from the crowd. Axl slowly made his way to the corner, but just as he was about to make the tag, Orton had come around to that side of the ring and he pulled Tirpak off, hitting the "RKO" on the floor! Axl turned around and was ran over by the Ram's Horns and Ramplin covered him for the victory! Match Time: 5:41 J.R.: "Oh what impact! He drove all the wind out of Axl with that one"! Lawler: "But will this be the scene at MeltDown..... will J.J. Ramplin be standing over Axl Irvin as the winner! I wouldn't bet against it"! "MISERIA CANTARE" BY AFI PLAYED AS ORTON LEFT WITH RAMPLIN, WHO HAD THE KING OF CABLE TITLE HELD UP HIGH FOR THE BOOING CROWD. TIRPAK WAS STILL DOWN OUTSIDE THE RING AS AXL SLOWLY BEGAN TO GET UP. J.R.: "I think I'd have a hard time betting against him myself, but it won't be a tag team match at MeltDown, there won't be any distractions..... it'll be man on man". BACKSTAGE....... MONEY MIKE IS WALKING THROUGH THE BACKSTAGE AREA, ASKING PEOPLE IF THEY'VE SEEN EDDIE SAINT JAMES. INSTEAD, HE RUNS INTO MONICA. Money Mike: "Where the hell is Eddie"? Monica: "He's got a big match to get ready for...... don't bother starting anything tonight, Mike, you attacked not just Eddie, but myself as well at Evil Intentions...... all we did was pay you back. The way Eddie and I look at it, we're all even". MONICA WALKS AWAY AND MIKE IS CLEARLY NOT OKAY WITH HER WORDS. IN ANOTHER PART OF THE BACKSTAGE AREA, NEAR ONE OF THE EXITS, CAMERAS PICK UP MATT CRUZ WITH A DUFFEL BAG SLUNG OVER HIS SHOULDER, READY TO LEAVE THE ARENA. JUST BEFORE HE DOES, HE HEARS A VOICE SAY "WAIT", AND CARLITO ENTERS THE SHOT. Carlito: "Just like I always thought you were........ a quitter. Eddie Guerrero said you could be the best Latino wrestler ever........ you're nothin' but a disgrace! And that....... that's not cool". WITH THAT, CARLITO SLAPS CRUZ RIGHT ACROSS THE FACE. CRUZ IS VISIBLY IRATE, BUT HE JUST STARES AT CARLITO AND PUSHES THE DOOR OPEN, LEAVING THE ARENA AS THE SHOT FADES OUT. COMMERCIAL BREAK.......... A COMMERCIAL FOR EBAY IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR IBM. RETURN FROM BREAK....... RINGSIDE...... "I SPIT IN THE FACE" OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO BE COOL" IS HEARD WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, AND CARLITO COMES OUT FROM THE BACK TO HIS MUSIC, TOSSING AN APPLE. J.R.: "We are back live here on the USA network and how appropriate is that first line in Carlito's entrance music? That's essentially what he did to Matt Cruz before he left the arena tonight". Lawler: "He sure did! In the form of an open handed slap"! "ONE OF A KIND" BY BREAKING POINT COMES ON AND ROB VAN DAM COMES OUT TO A HUGE OVATION, QUITE POSSIBLY THE LOUDEST OF THE NIGHT. J.R.: "Carlito will be in there with a man looking to gain momentum as we head to MeltDown..... Rob Van Dam will be one the superstars in that huge fatal four way match for the TWF World title"! Lawler: "He won't be in there if Carlito has anything to say about it! In fact, if Carlito wins this match, he should be considered for a title shot"! J.R.: "It would certainly help his stock, but RVD is without question of the biggest big match performers we've ever seen here in the TWF". Carlito vs. Rob Van Dam Carlito started the match with a kick to the abdomen before chopping the chest of Van Dam. After pushing him to the corner, Carlito hit him with 2 left handed blows before shooting him to the opposite corner. RVD moved out of the way when Carlito charged in before taking him down with a big spinning heel kick. RVD hit a corkscrew legdrop before going to the turnbuckle for a split-legged moonsault, but Carlito got his knees up. RVD was doubled over in pain and Carlito then went to the apron, flying over the top rope with a nice elbow drop. Carlito then pulled RVD up and rammed him face first into the top turnbuckle, but RVD alertly held onto the ring ropes when Carlito went for his "Backstabber". After a big clothesline, RVD pulled Carlito up into a float-over suplex to get a 2 count. RVD whipped Carlito to the ropes and did the splits as Carlito jumped over him but when he got back up and went for a spinning jump kick, Carlito ducked and then took RVD over with a german suplex, a great series of action! From there, Carlito pulled Van Dam up and shot him to the ropes. He went for a clothesline but RVD ducked and threw a kick. Carlito caught his foot, but that's what RVD was looking for as he smashed Carlito with his step-over heel kick. Quickly, RVD went to the top rope and surveyed the cheering crowd before flying off with the "5 Star Frogsplash"! RVD seemed to knock the wind out of himself with all the impact, but was still able to roll atop Carlito to get the 1........2........3. Match Time: 7:34 J.R.: "Oh what a five star! RVD came out of the rafters with that one, King, and he's rolling into MeltDown"! Lawler: "Could that very move win RVD the World title"?! "ONE OF A KIND" PLAYED AGAIN AND RVD SOAKED UP THE CHEERS FROM THE FANS BUT HE LEFT THE RING WHEN HE SAW MATT CRUZ COMING OUT. J.R.: "Wait a minute, here comes Matt Cruz"! Lawler: "Didn't we see him leave"?! CRUZ CAME RIGHT INTO THE RING AND BEGAN TO ASSAULT CARLITO, KICKING AND STOMPING AT HIM. AFTER PULLING CARLITO UP, CRUZ DELIVERED A HUGE POWERBOMB BEFORE SLAPPING ON THE "COLORADO CLOVERLEAF", PULLING BACK ON IT WITH ALL HE HAD. J.R.: "Matt Cruz has lost it! He's gonna break Carlito in half"! Lawler: "I thought we heard this guy retire"! FINALLY, OFFICIALS CAME OUT FROM THE BACK TO PULL CRUZ OFF CARLITO, WHO WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN. J.R.: "Do ya think he had a change of heart, King? That doesn't look like the face of a man who's heart isn't in it"! Lawler: "Whether it was the speech from Mando Guerrero or the slap by Carlito, something changed Cruz's mind"! BACKSTAGE........ IN THE BACK, TODD GRISHAM IS STANDING BY WITH MUHAMMAD HASSAN. Todd Grisham: "Muhammad Hassan, everyone wants to know what your thoughts are on having to face Travis Wakeman at MeltDown. Are you regretting having GeNext attack Roddy Piper a couple weeks ago"? Muhammad Hassan: "This was to be expected. Never have I, or never will I be treated fairly! Let's make one thing clear..... I still run Rampage and as soon as I dispose of Wakeman at MeltDown...... I will have that back. Piper, I don't regret for one second what happened to you at the hands of GeNext because it was nothing....... nothing like what I have to experience on a daily basis due to the fact that I happen to be Arab-American! You people want to see a vile, ruthless human being! You people want to see a terrorist! Well at MeltDown...... you're gonna get one"! HASSAN SHOVES GRISHAM ASIDE AND WALKS AWAY. Grisham: "We can also tell you that Muhammad Hassan will be in action on the next edition of Rampage". THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING AND "I WILL BE HEARD" BY HATEBREED COMES ON EDDIE SAINT JAMES MAKES HIS WAY TO THE RING ALONG WITH MONICA. THE PAIR IS LOUDLY BOOED. J.R.: "I guess Muhammad Hassan is never gonna get over that whole himself versus the world attitude, but directly following this match, we will be going to the home of Travis Wakeman, where he will be talking to Ricky Steamboat but right now, we've got a big match involving another man who will have a chance to become World champion at MeltDown". Lawler: "And this man..... who could move right up the ranks with a win here"! "MISTERRRRR KENNEDYYYYYYY" IS HEARD AND MR. KENNEDY COMES OUT TO A BIG CHEER FROM THE CROWD. J.R.: "WrestleMania 9 was to this point, the biggest night in the career of Mr. Kennedy but at MeltDown, he could become a two-time TWF World champion"! Lawler: "Hold on, he's got the mic.... I love this part". Mr. Kennedy: "Ladies and gentlemen..... I weigh in tonight at.......... BEFORE KENNEDY COULD BELT OUT ANOTHER WORD, HE WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY SAINT JAMES, WHO THEN PUT THE BOOTS TO HIM AS REFEREE JIM KORDERAS ASKED FOR THE BELL TO START THE MATCH. Eddie Saint James w/ Monica vs. Mr. Kennedy The Saint was all over Kennedy from the outset and after several boots to the back of the head, he got down and ripped at his facial features, bloodying Kennedy's nose. The Saint pulled him up and whipped him to the ropes but Kennedy ducked a clothesline and found the mark with a roundhouse kick to the back of the head. Kennedy then delivered a swinging neckbreaker and got a long 2 count. Kennedy got to his feet and went to the middle turnbuckle, but when he flew off, The Saint punched him in the gut and then threw him over the top rope to the floor. The Saint followed him out but Kennedy got up and rocked him with a right hand. He then whipped Saint James into the barricade, but Monica got up on the apron when Chris Masters came out to ringside. Masters stood behind Kennedy and when he turned around, the current World champ blasted him with a Polish Hammer to the face, knocking him stiff. The Saint picked Kennedy up and rolled him into the ring before covering him for the 3 count. Match Time: 4:58 Lawler: "He got him! He got him, J.R.! He just beat the number one contender"! J.R.: "With help from that jezebel Monica and the World champion, yes he did"! JUST THEN, MONEY MIKE CAME FROM OUT OF THE CROWD AND JUMPED OVER THE GUARDRAIL, GRABBING THE CHAIR LILIAN GARCIA WAS SEATED IN. HE ENTERED THE RING AND SMASHED CHRIS MASTERS RIGHT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. J.R.: "Oh look out! They heard the echo of that chair shot in the cheap seats"! MONEY MIKE STARED AT EDDIE SAINT JAMES, WHO SLOWLY BACKED OUT OF THE RING MOUTHING THE WORDS "WE'RE EVEN". HATEBREED's "I WILL BE HEARD" PLAYED AGAIN AS MONICA RAISED THE ARM OF THE SAINT, WHO LEFT WITH THE WIN. Lawler: "They're even, remember? And now, Money Mike has delivered a receipt to Chris Masters for handing that chair to Eddie Saint James a couple weeks ago"! J.R.: "Folks, this fatal four way is shaping up to be one of the most intense ever, but right now, let's take you to the home of Travis Wakeman where TWF cameras are on hand"! THE SHOT GOES TO THE HOME OF TRAVIS WAKEMAN IN GREELEY, COLORADO. RICKY STEAMBOAT IS SEATED ON A SMALL SOFA AND HE HAS A SMALL MICROPHONE PLACED ON HIS COLLAR. Ricky Steamboat: "Anyone know where he is..... he's here right"? AT THAT MOMENT, WAKEMAN EMERGES FROM ONE OF THE BACK ROOMS. HE IS WEARING ONLY A WHITE DENVER NUGGETS BASKETBALL JERSEY AND A PAIR OF BLACK BASKETBALL SHORTS. HE SLOWLY WALKS TO AN EMPTY COUCH AND SITS DOWN, RUBBING HIS EYES. Ricky Steamboat: "Hey T, what'd ya do, just get out of bed"? Travis Wakeman: "Pretty much, I forgot about all this. I was up late". Steamboat: "Ah, another wild night"? Wakeman: "No..... just thinking". Steamboat: "Ooooookay, well I want to remind all of those watching that we are live and I want to thank Mr. Wakeman for inviting us into his home...... I know you've always trusted me". Wakeman: "No, Rick...... I respect you, I don't trust anybody". Steamboat: "Okay, well let's talk about your recent actions in the TWF. I mean, you came back after an extremely long hiatus and you've shown almost a killer instinct. Where did that come from"? Wakeman: "It's always been there..... I have an extreme disdain for the majority of the human race, it was just the actions of Mr. McMahon that finally forced it out". Steamboat: "Okay, I can understand that, I mean, he did basically rob you of the TWF World title. But at Evil Intentions, you threw him over twenty feet off of the top of the Hell in a Cell. I mean, the man who owns this industry. Love him or hate him, without him, you don't work here". Wakeman: "And without him, maybe we'll have some actual competition now. That's why I wanted to be a wrestler. I wanted to compete. I wanted to go out there and see who was the best. None of this corporate bullshit, none of the flashy entrances or picking up a microphone and saying some catchy lines..... competition". Steamboat: "Okay, let's talk a little bit about all of the sexual relationships you've had. They've been well documented. I mean, you married Trish Stratus in front of the wrestling world and....... Wakeman: "And none of it ever meant anything. I use women, I don't really want anything out of them. They use men, so I give it right back. It's all a bunch of crap, Ricky. Why do you think the divorce rate in this country is so high? It's because people can't just be satisfied with what they already have. They've got to go out and try and find something more...... it's selfish. I mean, they've all meant something to me at one time or another, but none of them are there for the long haul..... they always want something out of you. I don't dislike any of these women, it's just a vice...... I want more and more, so I go get it. If this world was a perfect place........ Steamboat: "So what, what did you want to get out of this? Do you want everyone to know that you feel the world isn't a good place? Do you want everyone to feel sorry for you? I don't get this at all". Wakeman: "First of all, the TWF contacted me about an interview, so that the fans could understand why I am the way I am. This is why. We live in a country that gives medical help and buys groceries and gives housing to people who do absolutely nothing! Yet, the guy who is out there actually earning his way, and is paying to support these leeches, is having one hell of a time making ends meet! Now don't think for a second you can raise your tone in my house without getting some backlash, Rick, I could go on all night about this crap"! Steamboat: "Okay, I can see where this is headed, so let's end it with one final question. If you don't care about anything or anyone, what is your goal, what is your purpose now in the TWF". Wakeman: "To prove that point". WAKEMAN LOOKS AT STEAMBOAT WITH A SICK, ALMOST DEMENTED GRIN, BEFORE THE SHOT FADES TO BLACK.......... OFF AIR.................
