March 27, 2010
It was a hot spring night in California and the fans in the Honda Center had Royal Rumble fever. A large banner hung from the rafters featuring the Royal Rumble logo and superstars like Kevin Thorn, Nails and Randy Orton. The night started with Uprising, which presented 3 matches.
Kelly vs. Natalya Two of Rampage's young, hot divas got the night started and Kelly wanted to use her quickness to avoid the much stronger member of the Hart family. Kelly was able to deliver a flying headscissor takedown before pulling Natalya up and shooting her to the corner. Natalya then found herself on the receiving end of a back handspring elbow. Kelly then kicked Natalya in the abdomen and hit the ropes but Natalya just blasted her with a spinning clothesline that folded the blonde bombshell up like an accordion. After a big powerslam, Natalya tried to put Kelly into the Sharpshooter but Kelly pulled her into a small package and nearly got the pin. Apparently, Kelly thought she did get a 3 count and that allowed Natalya to smash her from behind with a running forearm to the back of the head. She then delivered a big spinebuster and covered Kelly to win the match. Dolph Ziggler vs. Shane Ballard (invitee) With another chance to showcase himself, Ziggler did just that. He had no trouble with Ballard, a longtime indy wrestler in the California area, but he started to toy with him rather than just go for the win. That allowed Ballard to get in some offense and after putting Ziggler down with a tornado DDT, he had the fans believing he could win it. Ballard went for an irish whip but Ziggler reversed it and came up with a sleeper hold. He had it locked in tight and within moments, Ballard was out. Dylan Jansens vs. Zack Ryder The main event of Uprising saw a highly competitive match that included more than a dozen combined two counts. Jansens began to take control late in the match after putting Ryder down with a step-up enziguri and that led to a spinning reverse neckbreaker. Looking for a high impact move to put Ryder away, Jansens went to the top rope, calling for the "Deep Sea Dive". But when Ryder got to his feet, he flew off with a missile dropkick instead and Ryder was able to sidestep the move. Seeing an oppurtunity, Ryder quickly capitalized, pulling Jansens up and delivering the "Zack Attack". A 3 count later, and Ryder had arguably the biggest win of his young career. Ryder celebrated the win amongst thousands of booing fans while "Radio" played. The shot the faded out before the USA logo flashed across the screen and the stage was set for Rampage. RAMPAGE GOES LIVE
"TO BE LOVED" PLAYS AS THE OPENING MONTAGE FOR RAMPAGE RUNS. PYRO POUNDS OFF THE SET AS CAMERAS INSIDE THE HONDA CENTER SHOW A SEA OF INCREDIBLY EXCITED TWF FANS. JIM ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER ARE THEN SHOWN SITTING RINGSIDE AT THE BROADCAST POSITION. Jim Ross: "The Royal Rumble is one of the TWF's biggest events annually and King, we're just about there"! Jerry Lawler: "Yes we are, J.R. All we have left is a big night of action here in Anaheim and I can't wait". J.R.: "We've been hearing all day long about some sort of big announcement coming from Rowdy Roddy Piper and I have just been told that he is ready to make that announcement now". THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE OFFICE OF ROWDY RODDY PIPER. 'HOT ROD' IS SEATED AT HIS DESK WITH HIS FEET ON IT AND HE IS READING THE NEWSPAPER, THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER. THE CROWD CHEERS WHEN THEY SEE PIPER AND HE FINALLY NOTICES THE CAMERA ON HIM. Rowdy Roddy Piper: "Oh....... hey there, how we doin' tonight? (Piper sets the newspaper down) So the Royal Rumble is our next pay-per-view event and I got to thinkin', why should Randy Orton have that night off? He should have to defend the World title, should he not? So I'm sitting' at home, watchin' tv and I notice that all my tv shows are being preempted because of this..... March Madness college basketball tournament. So it got me to thinkin', what if we have a little March Madness of our own, right here tonight in Anaheim? THE CROWD LOUDLY CHEERS. That's just what we're gonna do. So tonight, we're gonna have four March Madness matches and the winners of each of those will advance to the Royal Rumble where they will compete in a fatal four way match. Then, that same night, the guy who wins that four way will get a crack at Randy Orton's World title. How's that sound? I liked it..... hope the fans of the TWF do too. Oh, when is the first March Madness match, you ask? How 'bout..... right now"?
J.R.: "Wow..... what an announcement! We've got our own brand of March Madness here, King"! Lawler: "How is that fair to Randy Orton? He can't prepare for an opponent because he doesn't know who it's gonna be"?! J.R.: "Well, he'll have it narrowed down to a possibility of four". "TNT" BY AC/DC COMES ON AND EDGE STARTS TO FEVERISHLY LOOK INTO THE STANDS, TRYING TO DETERMINE WHERE CHRIS TIRPAK IS COMING FROM. INSTEAD, TIRPAK COMES OUT FROM THE BACKSTAGE AREA, CARRYING AS ALWAYS, A KENDO STICK. Lawler: "Look Edge, he's not coming out of the crowd"! J.R.: "Chris Tirpak is changing things up here and I don't think Edge sees him". Lawler: "Turn around Edge"! FINALLY, EDGE TURNS TO SEE TIRPAK WHO SLIDES INTO THE RING BUT EDGE GETS ON HIM WITH SOME RIGHT HANDS. March Madness Edge vs. Chris Tirpak Tirpak quickly recovered from the ambush by Edge and soon was rocking him all over the ring with right hands of his own. After a kick to the gut, Tirpak got Edge up onto his shoulders, looking to hit the "Lights Out" in record fashion, but Edge countered and pulled Tirpak to the mat with the Edge-O-Matic. Edge took some time to shake off the effects of Tirpak's offense before slowing the match down, keeping Tirpak grounded. Edge relentlessly worked on the right knee of Tirpak, trying to inflict serious injury. After pulling, twisting and yanking at the knee, Edge pulled Tirpak to the corner and went outside the ring. Edge was about to wrap Tirpak's knee around the steel ring post when he was introduced to that same post after a counter by Tirpak. Tirpak pulled his own foot forward, bringing Edge face first into that post. Tirpak then went to the apron and flew off with a clothesline, taking Edge out. Edge looked to have a bloody nose and Tirpak began to pour it on. In his element outside the ring, Tirpak bounced Edge off everything in sight before sending him hard into the steel ring steps. The top portion of the stairs seperated from the other half due to the impact. Seeing referee Scott Martin was at the count of 8, Tirpak got back into the ring. Edge barely beat the 10 count by getting to the apron where he got a finger into the eye of Tirpak. He then got in and went for the spear but he missed everything when Tirpak moved. Tirpak then blasted Edge with a clothesline and made the cover, getting a long 2 count from Martin. The fans told Tirpak to put Edge away as he looked into the huge crowd, a ferocious look in his eyes. Tirpak pulled Edge up and went for an irish whip but Edge came up with a counter, pulling Tirpak right into the "Edge-A-Cution". He made the cover and just like that, the match was over. Match Time: 6:34 J.R.: "A three count has been registered and what a crazy turn of events that was". Lawler: "Did you see that? Only a superstar the caliber of Edge could've pulled that off..... that was an incredible counter"! "METALINGUS" PLAYED AS EDGE WENT TO THE BACK, LOOKING EXHAUSTED AS HE LOOKED BACK AT TIRPAK. J.R.: "That match was a lot more competitive than a lot of those NCAA tournament games..... I'll tell ya that". Lawler: "And Edge becomes the first man to qualify for the Fatal Four Way at the Royal Rumble"! A PROMO GRAPHIC FOR THE MARCH MADNESS FATAL FOUR WAY AT THE ROYAL RUMBLE IS SHOWN. EDGE HAS BEEN ADDED TO IT ALONG WITH 3 SHADOWY SILHOUETTES. J.R.: "We've got three more March Madness matches to come plus a lot more.... don't go away"! COMMERCIAL BREAK................ A COMMERCIAL FOR SUBWAY IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A TRAILER FOR THE MOVIE "HOT TUB TIME MACHINE". RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE..... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, SHEAMUS IS IN THE RING AND HIS MUSIC IS PLAYING. WITH HIM IS MIKE KNOX. J.R.: "We are back live in Anaheim and we are ready for tag team action but we can now tell you that at the Royal Rumble, Sheamus will get his shot to claim gold when he challenges Sebastian Cain for the King of Cable title". A PROMO GRAPHIC FOR THAT MATCH IS SHOWN. MUHAMMAD HASSAN's MUSIC STARTS AND HE COMES OUT TO SOMEWHAT OF A MIXED REACTION. Lawler: "Sheamus has already defeated Cain once and if he does it at the Rumble, we'll have a new champion". J.R.: "And tonight, Cain will team up with this man, Muhammad Hassan, who says he has changed his ways since the last time we saw him in the TWF". Lawler: "Well you remember, J.R., I hated this guy just as much as you did but he really does seem to be sincere". "BLACK" BY SEVENDUST PLAYS AND SEBASTIAN CAIN COMES OUT TO A HUGE POP WITH THE KING OF CABLE TITLE AROUND HIS WAIST. J.R.: "Yes, but could it be the fact that Sebastian Cain has turned himself into one of the top superstars in the TWF and Hassan wants part of that somehow? Could it be that Hassan is the same old guy? I know there's a lot of skepticism out there". Lawler: "All I know is that on the last Rampage, after he'd already defeated Cain, Sheamus was ready to do some more damage and who was it that came to the rescue? Muhammad Hassan". Sheamus and Mike Knox vs. Sebastian Cain and Muhammad Hassan Cain and Sheamus looked like they couldn't wait for the Royal Rumble as they met in the center of the ring, trading shots until Sheamus pushed Cain to the corner. He then threw a big clubbing forearm but Cain ducked out of the way and then pulled Sheamus to the mat with a falling neckbreaker. After landing on Sheamus with a senton bomb, Cain made the tag to Hassan who was looking for the Camel Clutch. But as he set up for it, Knox came into the ring. Hassan reacted with a right hand to the big bearded Knox but Sheamus got up and hammered Hassan in the back from behind. After delivering a backdrop suplex, Sheamus made the tag to Knox who came in and dropped a huge elbow across the chest of Hassan. He went for a cover but barely got a 2 count. After picking Hassan up, Knox delivered a huge suplex before slapping the hand of Sheamus. Sheamus came in and wore down Hassan with a couple of body slams before measuring him for his bicycle kick. Sheamus yelled "Come on"! towards Hassan, waiting for him to get up. Hassan finally got to his feet and Sheamus went for the kick but Hassan moved and grabbed him around the head and neck before raking both of his eyes. With Sheamus staggered, Hassan made the tag to Cain who came in and ran towards him but Sheamus recovered nicely, grabbing Cain, swinging him around and dropping him across his knee with a vicious backbreaker. Sheamus made the cover and hooked the leg to get the 3 count. Match Time: 5:31 J.R.: "Wow....... what a backbreaker". Lawler: "Did you notice how quick that was, J.R.? In a matter of seconds, Cain could go from King of Cable champion to...... well to nothing"! SHEAMUS' MUSIC PLAYED AS HE AND KNOX LEFT THE RING. INSIDE THE RING, CAIN GRABBED AT HIS LOWER BACK IN PAIN AS A CONCERNED HASSAN KNELT DOWN NEAR HIM. J.R.: "Well I definitely wouldn't say he'd be nothing, but he certainly seems to have met his match with the Celtic Warrior Sheamus". Lawler: "And what a match that'll be at the Royal Rumble, especially now that Sheamus has pinned Sebastian Cain twice"! BACKSTAGE...... TODD GRISHAM IS SHOWN IN THE BACK WITH GINA CARANO WHO HAS HER USUAL BIG SMILE UPON HER FACE. Todd Grisham: "With me at this time is Gina Carano and you have asked for this time, Gina, what did you want to say"? Gina Carano: "Ya know, Todd, I just feel like I'm ready to step up here in the TWF. I mean, I know most people still consider me an MMA fighter, but I take the ring of the TWF just as serious and I want to get in there and prove that. I read on the internet the other day where I was ready to quit wrestling already and that couldn't be further............. JUST THEN, KAYLA KARTER ENTERS THE SHOT. Kayla Karter: "I wish that rumor were true. KARTER AND CARANO GET FACE TO FACE. Cause if there's one thing I hate more than anything else, it's you pretty faced, prissy little bitches claiming you love wrestling when you do something else at the same time or you're using it to eventually get your own reality show or you.......... Gina Carano: "Is that what you think? I said I wanted to get in there and compete and I see no better opportunity to do that than tonight.... with you". Kayla Karter (laughs): "You want to get in there with me? You got it............ KARTER WALKS AWAY AS THE SHOT IS SENT BACK TO THE RING. March Madness J.J. "The Ram" Ramplin vs. Ted Dibiase Looking to advance to the fatal 4 way match at the Royal Rumble, both these men came after it in this one which turned into a very competitive match. Dibiase was able to ground The Ram after catching him with a big spinebuster and he kept him on the mat inside a reverse chin lock. The hold was very close to being a choke but referee Chad Patton was on top of it, allowing Dibiase to sustain the hold. But Ramplin started to get up, hearing the cheers in the crowd. He drove an elbow into the rib cage of Dibiase and then again, gaining seperation before running the ropes, but Dibiase came back with a knee to the gut. He then used a falling fistdrop, much like the one his dad used to use. Dibiase got up and positioned himself behind Ramplin but The Ram turned around and ducked a running clothesline before lifting Dibiase up and falling back with him, dropping him over the top rope with a stun gun. Dibiase got up, stumbling around the ring as Ramplin positioned himself across the ring and then charged at him with the spear. But Dibiase got out of the way and sent Ramplin hard into the corner. He then rolled him up and got the 1.............2..........., but Ramplin was up. Both men got to their feet at the same time and Dibiase threw a clothesline that Ramplin ducked but the son of the 'Million Dollar Man' was able to catch him with a textbook dropkick following that. He waved his arms in front of him and said "That's it"! Ramplin slowly got up and Dibiase locked his arms, ready to deliver "Dream Street". But Ramplin countered, dropping to one knee and pulling Dibiase over his shoulders, slamming him to the mat. Dibiase got up and again went for a clothesline but after ducking this one, Ramplin connected with the spear, running through Dibiase! The crowd could sense what was coming next and Ramplin pulled Dibiase up, delivering the "Dead Weight" to get the victory. Match Time: 6:36 "WANTED MAN" BY REV THEORY PLAYED AS RAMPLIN CELEBRATED THE WIN WHILE THE CROWD LOUDLY CHEERED. J.R.: "J.J. Ramplin has become the second man to advance in this March Madness tournament set up by Rowdy Roddy Piper and King..... we have two more matches tonight". A PROMO GRAPHIC IS SHOWN WITH J.J. RAMPLIN ADDED STANDING NEXT TO EDGE. Lawler: "We know that Ramplin and Edge are in.... who else will join them"?! J.R.: "Don't go away fans..... plenty of TWF Rampage action still to come"! COMMERCIAL BREAK................. A COMMERCIAL FOR GILLETTE IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY SEVERAL USA PROGRAMMING ADS. RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE...... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, KAYLA KARTER IS IN THE RING GETTING LOOSE WHILE "HELP I'M ALIVE" BY METRIC PLAYS. THE FANS LOUDLY CHEER WHEN "TEARS DON'T FALL" BY BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE STARTS UP. GINA CARANO COMES OUT TO A BIG REACTION. J.R.: "Divas action as we return to Rampage and this match was just made not too long ago in the backstage area after Kayla Karter, for whatever reason, confronted Gina Carano". Lawler: "She had some choice words for Gina but Kayla is not one of those women who is vindictive towards pretty girls because of her own bad looks...... Kayla is gorgeous". J.R.: "We've seen her confront Kim Kardashian and now Gina Carano so I'm not sure exactly what her problem is but Gina Carano made it clear she is willing to solve it". Lawler: "Gina Carano is one of the most popular female athletes in the world, J.R., but Kayla just feels she is trying to use the TWF for something it's not". J.R.: "Do you feel that way? Cause you're talkin' like you agree with Ms. Karter's attitude". Lawler: "Ms. Karter could say anchovies are the best thing to have on a pizza and I'd agree with it". Kayla Karter vs. Gina Carano Kayla tried to intimidate Gina with some words once the match got underway but Gina didn't seem bothered. The two women locked up and neither could get an advantage. Kayla was able to sneak in a kick to the lower body of Carano but she fired back with a kick of her own, one with a lot more behind it. Kayla grabbed at her left leg and Carano moved in, catching her with both right and left hands. Wearing grappling gloves, kick pads and having bare feet, Carano still looked more like a fighter than a wrestler but she was able to pull Karter into a belly to belly suplex that got her a 2 count. After a snap mare, Carano hit the ropes and kicked Karter square in the chest. Carano got another 2 count before pulling Karter up and sending her to the corner. She ran in but Karter met her with a foot to the face before delivering a big swinging neckbreaker. Karter than got on Carano in a mount position and rammed the back of her head into the mat several times before asking her "Are you sure you want to this"?! Karter got up and walked around the ring with both arms raised, drawing the ire of the crowd. Karter connected with a snap suplex and floated into a cover to get 1..............2........, but Gina still had plenty of fight left in her. Karter kept punishing Carano and then began attacking her facial features, pulling at her eyes and nose before being asked to release it by referee Jack Doan. After a scoop slam, Karter went to the outside of the ring and climbed the turnbuckle. She jumped off but the woman known as "Conviction" caught her with a nasty kick to the side of the head. Karter hit the mat hard and Carano covered her, 1..............2.............., but somehow Karter got a shoulder up! Carano grabbed an arm and tried to get on a Kimura. With her arm just about behind her back, Kayla got her right foot to the ropes to earn a break. Carano got up and waited for Karter in a fighting stance. Karter got up holding her arm and asked for a break. Carano let her guard down and Karter stuck a finger in her eye. She then rolled her up in an inside cradle and got a quick 3 count. Match Time: 7:32 J.R.: "No! Come on.... what the hell was that"?! Lawler: "Carano just got outsmarted, simple as that! This isn't MMA, there are no breaks"! "HELP I'M ALIVE" PLAYED AS KARTER LEFT THE RING TO A LOT OF BOOS. CARANO STOOD IN THE RING WITH HER HANDS ON HER WAIST, SHAKING HER HEAD. J.R.: "And she knows it.... Gina knows she just got burned. Kayla Karter stole this match". BACKSTAGE........ THE SHOT GOES INTO THE BACKSTAGE AREA WHERE AN ANGRY EZEKIEL JACKSON IS IN THE FACE OF ROWDY RODDY PIPER. Rowdy Roddy Piper: "Look, you have a point, but ya better get outta my face..... okay, son"? Ezekiel Jackson: "I beat Kennedy! Why the hell ain't I in this March Madness thing"?! Rowdy Roddy Piper: "Like I said, you have a point. So I will make sure you have a spot in the Royal Rumble match........ best I can do". JACKSON WALKS AWAY, STILL SNARLING AND ANGRY. THE SHOT GOES TO ANOTHER PART OF THE BACKSTAGE AREA WHERE MATT CRUZ AND MARIA ARE TALKING. Maria: "I wanted to tell him I was with you...... but I didn't want you to have any more problems with him". Matt Cruz: "Girl, I don't sweat CJ Lethal. I wish you would have told him". MARIA KIND OF LAUGHS BEFORE HER AND CRUZ START MAKING OUT. A CAMERA PANS OVER TO SHOW CJ LETHAL WATCHING THE WHOLE THING IN DISGUST. "ON YOUR KNEES" COMES ON AND JACK SWAGGER STEPS OUT TO NOTHING BUT BOOS WHEN WE RETURN TO THE RING. Lawler: "My God, what is Matt Cruz doing to Maria"? J.R.: "You might say she's smitten, King". Lawler: "Smitten? That was all out assault"! J.R.: "Well let's direct our attention back to the TWF's version of March Madness which was set up by Rowdy Roddy Piper and what an opportunity this is gonna be for Jack Swagger". Lawler: "Without a doubt, this guy is on the verge of big things and tonight could be a great starting point for him". "MISTERRRRRR KENNEDYYYYY" COMES ON AND KENNEDY COMES OUT TO A GOOD CHEER BUT SWAGGER LEAVES THE RING AND THE FIGHT IS ON OUT ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP. Lawler: "Swagger's not waiting for Kennedy..... Mr. Kennedy vs. Jack Swagger Swagger and Kennedy traded blows until Swagger got a knee in and then threw Kennedy into the ring apron. After a stiff right hand, he rolled Kennedy into the ring. After Swagger rolled in, the bell sounded to make the match official and he continued the beating. Kennedy used several slams and suplexes to keep the pressure on and with Kennedy positioned near the corner, Swagger ran across the ring and used the ropes to lift himself up for a big splash but Kennedy got his knees up. This allowed Kennedy to get back into the match as he rocked the big man with right hands before picking him up onto his shoulders and then dropping him throat first over the top rope. Kennedy then found the mark with a sharp kick to the sternum before covering him and getting a 2 count. Kennedy pulled Swagger up and whipped him to the corner where he charged in with a clothesline. Kennedy was all over Swagger at this point, looking to put the finishing touches on. He went to the top rope but before he could lift off, Swagger got up and grabbed the right arm of Kennedy before just yanking him off the top rope to the mat. Kennedy grabbed at his right shoulder and seemed to be in plenty of pain as Swagger got him up and delivered the gutwrench powerbomb to seal the win. Match Time: 8:06 Lawler: "Swagger got him"! J.R.: "And Kennedy looks to be in a bad way. That's a tough break for Kennedy, because it was a match that was going his way". A PROMO GRAPHIC POPS UP CONTAINING BOTH THE ROYAL RUMBLE AND MARCH MADNESS LOGOS. THE PICTURE OF JACK SWAGGER IS ADDED TO THAT OF EDGE AND J.J. RAMPLIN. ONE SILHOUETTE REMAINS. Lawler: "We've got one spot left for the fatal four way at the Royal Rumble"! J.R.: "And that will be decided tonight and still to come, Jaden Core faces the TWF World champion, Randy Orton"! COMMERCIAL BREAK.............. A COMMERCIAL FOR FRONTIER AIRLINES IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR TWIX. RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE....... The Titantron comes on and shows Richard Ramsley and Troy Gafgen sitting in the locker room. It's empty, save for them. Troy is sitting on a folding chair, while Ramsley is leaning against the wall. His arms are crossed, and his hair is in front of his face. He looks up, and as his hair falls to the sides of his head, his face is revealed to have a large grin, coupled with bright, wild eyes. He steps forward, and, practically bouncing in place, begins to speak.
Richard Ramsley: "Alright, Troy, I've got big things in store for the two of us, BIG things. But, first things first, my pupil, you have to learn some things. Three very important things, Troy. The first of those rules, is this: There are rules. These idiots have made rules to try and keep people like me, and eventually, you, from completely destroying our opponents. However, with a little clever thinking, and some quickness, we can use these idiotic rules to OUR advantages, Troy. See, most of the time, our opponent is going to be bound by those rules. He's going to follow them, thinking that we'll be out of our element. Problem is... that means that we can break the rules, and they won't. Remember the five count, Troy. You have five seconds to completely decimate whoever you're facing. Choke them with your hands, or the ropes. Kick and stomp them in the corner. Here's something fun AND effective, Troy! Slap a submission on them while they're by the ropes. Heh....l et them grab em'! They'll be forced to endure it for about four seconds. Another little tip... make distractions. The second the ref stops paying attention, the rulebook goes out the damn window! Why not take off a turnbuckle pad? Hell, let the ref see it! While he's busy trying to put it back on, get in a quick shot to the nads! Or even better, stash some brass knucks in your pants... the second the ref looks away, punch your opponent's brains out"!
Troy nods, seemingly taking in every word. Suddenly, he speaks.
Troy Gafgen: "Well.... what if I can't make a distraction? I mean, I won't always be able to get away with that...
Ramsley laughs and pats Troy on the back.
Richard Ramsley: "Good question, Troy! Here's the deal... you'll get better with practice, trust me. See, the difference between us, and most of those muscle-brained idiots we have to face, is that we're able to adapt to the situation around us. We're able to use the ring, the ref, everything to our advantage. Just go out there, and look for ways to gain the upperhand, no matter what. Pretty soon, you'll be doing it without even thinking about it. Listen... I have a match tonight. Come out there with me; watch me. I'll show you how it's done".
Troy nods and Ramsley laughs as he leaves the locker room. Troy gets up and follows him. The shot goes to another part of the backstage area where Todd Grisham is with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Orton has the TWF World title slung over his left shoulder. Todd Grisham: "Randy, tonight you face the very mysterious masked man, Jaden Core. Now the title will not be on the line, but......... Randy Orton: "Actually, Todd, we all know I'm gonna beat the hell out of that wannabe comic book character. We asked for this interview so that Cody could get something off his chest". GRISHAM HOLDS THE MIC UP TO RHODES' MOUTH. Cody Rhodes: "Over the last couple of months, I have been the MVP of Rampage..... yes, you heard that right, the MVP! But everywhere I go, people are still talking about Jason Oliver and how they can't believe he lost this match or that match. Oliver, I've beaten you before and we both know I can do it again! So I am issuing a challenge to you for a one on one match at the Royal Rumble. No one in our corners, no Orton, no Dibiase. Just mean and you...... RHODES WALKS AWAY AND ORTON GIVES GRISHAM ONE LAST LOOK BEFORE WALKING OFF AS WELL. COURTNEY TAYLOR IS SHOWN WITH EDDIE SAINT JAMES AND MONICA, OUTSIDE THEIR PERSONAL DRESSING ROOM. Courtney Taylor: "I am here with the reigning TWF Women's champion and one half of the Rampage Tag Team champions. Eddie, apparently you won't be defending the titles at the Royal Rumble"? Eddie Saint James: "No, apparently not. I was just informed that this company can't find anyone who has a chance in hell against the BoogeySaints! So, it's time this company recognizes Monica and I as two of it's top stars. You have the greatest diva in the history of the TWF and you have me, The Saint, a man who has helped form the greatest tag team in the history of the TWF! So if they don't have a match for Boogey and I....... then I am officially declaring myself for the 2010 Royal Rumble match! And when I win and hold a spot in the main event at WrestleMania........ they better be able to find someone with a chance in hell....... of beating me". THE SAINT GOES INTO A DISTURBING LAUGH AND COURTNEY ACTUALLY LOOKS A LITTLE SCARED. "HEY MAN, NICE SHOT" BY FILTER COMES ON AND RICHARD RAMSLEY COMES OUT ALONG WITH TROY GAFGEN. J.R.: "So it appears we have another participant for the Royal Rumble and stay tuned, because directly following Rampage tonight, all thirty names for the Rumble will be made official over on TWF.com". Lawler: "And what about the challenge just handed down from Cody Rhodes"? J.R.: "We understand that Todd Grisham is in the back looking for Jason Oliver to get a response to that challenge but you're right, King, young Cody is going after the top of the food chain". THE CROWD GOES WILD WHEN "ONE OF A KIND" BY BREAKING POINT COMES ON. PYRO SPRAYS OFF THE SET AS ROB VAN DAM STEPS OUT IN HIS GREEN, BLACK AND WHITE DRAGON SINGLET. Lawler: "And we still have one spot left in the fatal four way match for the Royal Rumble.... it'll go to one of these guys". J.R.: "Yes, our last March Madness match tonight and keep your eye on Troy Gafgen. As far as I'm concerned, he's not a manager and has no business being down at ringside". Lawler: "Well so far, the referee is allowing it but it definitely presents an obstacle for the 'Whole Damn Show'". March Madness Richard Ramsley w/ Troy Gafgen vs. Rob Van Dam Right as Van Dam got into the ring, Ramsley was over him with punches and kicks to the back and back of the head. Referee Jose Mendez got him up and pulled him away but Gafgen, who hadn't got out of the ring yet, dropped RVD with a clothesline. He then got out of the ring as Ramsley went and made a cover, but RVD was up at 2. Ramsley used the quick attack to get a big early advantage. After using a double underhook suplex, Ramsley went over and started messing with one of the turnbuckle pads. Mendez came over and gave him a warning but as Ramsley went back over to RVD, Gafgen came around to the same turnbuckle and was able to untie it and then remove the pad. Ramsley pulled RVD up and RVD got in some quick punches to the abdomen before popping up and drilling Ramsley with a spin kick right on the chin. He then hit the ropes and landed the Rolling Thunder, covering Ramsley to get 1.............2..........., but that was it. After a corkscrew legdrop, RVD ran towards the ropes again but drilled Gafgen with a dropkick through the ropes. He then did the thumbs to his shoulders routine as the crowd loudly chanted "R........V............D". He went back towards Ramsley but Ramsley got in a thumb to the eye before twisting back the right arm of Van Dam and pulling him into a clothesline. Ramsley then got down and using both hands, choked RVD, waiting for Mendez to get a count of 4 before letting go. It was the slow, methodic pace now that Ramsley thrives on. After several hard right hands, he picked RVD up for a suplex but RVD slipped free and landed behind Ramsley, using a quick rollup into a bridge to pin Ramsley and get the quick win! Match Time: 6:24 But after the match, before Van Dam's music could even play, Gafgen attacked him from behind. Ramsley then got up and looked like a man possessed. He began to viciously grab and pull at the eyes of RVD. RVD yelled in pain as Mendez did his best to pull him off. Gafgen kicked Mendez right in the face, knocking him out cold. Finally, Ramsley let go but RVD had several scratches on his face and even a trickle of blood. The crowd booed the two heavily as "Hey Man, Nice Shot" again played. Lawler: "Man, these two are guys you definitely don't want to mess with". J.R.: "Yeah, and Troy Gafgen should be expecting a heavy fine for kicking the referee in the face! What a heinous act"! A PROMO GRAPHIC FOR THE ROYAL RUMBLE FATAL 4 WAY POPS UP. RVD IS NOW ADDED TO THE IMAGES OF JACK SWAGGER, EDGE AND J.J. RAMPLIN. Lawler: "And there ya have it, the field for the fatal four way is set but hopefully for RVD, no permanent damage was done here". BACKSTAGE AREA.......... IN THE BACK, TODD GRISHAM IS WITH JASON OLIVER. Todd Grisham: "Jason, just moments ago, Cody Rhodes challenged you to a match at the Royal Rumble". Jason Oliver: "Well, I did want to take part in the Rumble this year but I'll pass it all up to kick Cody Rhodes' ass! I mean, it's Cody Rhodes..... are you serious"?!
