The stars of Rampage came to the blazing hot desert in Arizona and the fans piled into the U.S. Airways arena to catch all the action. Uprising started the night with 3 big matches.
Kayla Karter vs. Kelly Divas action opened the night and Kayla Karter made it clear what she thought about Kelly, ripping a large poster of her in half that one of the fans brought to the show. Karter then imposed her will stifling Kelly with her hard-nosed offense. After a pendulum backbreaker, Kayla locked Kelly in a bow and arrow but she couldn't get her to give up. Frustrated, Karter pulled Kelly to her feet and went for a suplex but Kelly countered it into one of her own. That led to a flying headscissor and Kelly had Kayla in trouble. She went for a flying legdrop to the back of the head but Kayla got out of the way and then just snapped, smashing Kelly repeatedly with punches to the face before grabbing her and ramming the back of her head into the mat. But Kayla then slapped her right hand around the throat of Kelly, choking her. Despite repeated warnings from the referee to break the hold, she refused. Finally, she was disqualified. But after the match was over, Kelly got to her feet and Kayla put her right back down with the "Kay Kick" before leaving to nothing but boos. Duke "Diamond Spider" Axe vs. Tyson Kidd This was an incredibly competitive match between two of Rampage's top young stars. Both men had several chances to win but after following up on a high risk miscue by Axe, Kidd used his feet to gain a huge upperhand. After a spin kick to the midsection, Kidd delivered a running knee lift before going to the corner and up to the top rope. He flew off with a clothesline that caught Axe right as he stood up and he went for the cover, only getting a 2 count. Kidd pulled Axe off the mat and measured him for a roundhouse kick but Axe ducked and pulled him to the mat with a falling neckbreaker. Axe got up, adrenaline rushing throughout his body and he got Kidd up, delivering the "Axe Massacre" to get a huge win in just over 8 minutes. Mr. Kennedy and Rob Van Dam vs. Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger Highlighting Uprising was one of the biggest main events in recent Uprising memory. This match saw it all, but RVD and Kennedy didn't seem to function together as well as Ziggler and Swagger did. But RVD had Swagger in a lot of trouble after landing a jump kick to the jaw followed by the Rolling Thunder. But Kennedy slapped the shoulder of RVD to tag himself into the match and as they jawed over it in their corner, Swagger was able to roll to the corner to slap the hand of Ziggler. Kennedy turned around ran at Ziggler with a clothesline but Ziggler ducked and connected with the "Zig Zag", covering him and hooking the leg to get the 3 count. ZIGGLER AND SWAGGER LEFT TO STRONG BOOS AS "I AM PERFECTION" PLAYED TO END THE SHOW AND GET THINGS READY FOR RAMPAGE TO GO LIVE ON USA. RAMPAGE GOES LIVE
AS RAMPAGE COMES ON THE AIR, THE FINAL MOMENTS OF THE 2010 ROYAL RUMBLE ARE SHOWN WITH BLADE, MATT CRUZ AND ALL OF PEOPLE, SKINNER LEFT AS THE FINAL 3 IN THE MATCH. SKINNER CLOTHESLINES BLADE OUT OF THE RING BEFORE ENGAGING WITH MATT CRUZ. AFTER SEVERAL TENSE MOMENTS, CRUZ BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEXED SKINNER OUT OF THE RING TO WIN THE MATCH! THE ARENA THEN COMES INTO THE SHOT AND "The Next Episode" rings out in the area and the crowd comes to it's feet. Matt Cruz comes out hand in hand with Maria as the crowd roars. Cruz and Maria are all smiles as they make their way to the ring. Maria is dressed in a sexy black dress, while Cruz is dressed simply in jeans and a Royal Rumble t-shirt. Although, he has a 2005 National Champions University of Texas hat on. He holds the ropes open for her, then goes to grab a mic. Jim Ross: "What a way to kickoff this edition of Rampage.... the 2010 Royal Rumble winner is here and King, this man has a golden ticket to the main event at WrestleMania". Jerry Lawler: "You think there's any chance he reveals what title he wants to challenge for tonight"?
(Cruz points to a section of fans that have Matt Cruz signs): "That's what's up! I figured I'd come out here and lay it out for ya'll with some real talk. I know not a whole lot of people thought I was going to come out here as the winner of the Royal Rumble. From the boys in the back to a lot fans, I know I wasn't the favorite to punch a ticket to the main event at Wrestlemania. (slight boos from the crowd). Well, to paraphrase a Tupac joint, I ain't mad atcha. I've been called a lot of things in my life, but the one label that has bothered me the most lately is "underachiever". I know I'm capable of a hell of a lot more than what you've seen from me lately, but that all changed at the Rumble. In this life, nothing is handed to you. You have to go out and create your own oppurtunities, even if you have to go through a smelly old timer with a skullet on the way! (laughter from the crowd). Yo, no lie, Skinner reaked of dead alligator and Jim Beam. Too many freaks and weirdos around here. (Maria brings up a hand to her mouth to cover her laughter, while Cruz fights to not laugh loudly too.) Now, everybody knows now that my personal life is on the up and way up,(Cruz turns his head to Maria and winks, causing her to blush), now my professional life is catching up. I wanted to keep my relationship on the down low for business reasons, but it's out. That's cool. She gets to now be by my side when I challenge for a World title at Mania. Which brings me to the point of why I'm out here now. I spent four of the best years of my life in the great state of Texas, getting an education and just putting it on the rest of the wreslters in the Big twelve conference. Now, I'll be coming back to do the same thing to either the TWF or Universal champion in Houston. And do you want to know who I've chosen to challenge? ( the crowd yells loudly)
Just then, CJ Lethal's music interrupts the proceedings, and he makes his way to the entrance on the ramp. He has a very angry look on his face as he stares a hole into Matt Cruz.
CJ Lethal: "Nobody gives a damn what you have chosen, so you shut your mouth right now!(the crowd boos, Cruz shakes his head). You must have a horseshoe jammed up your ass because I have never seen a bigger case of pure luck than I witnessed at the Royal Rumble. You had to eliminate a joke of a has been to get the opportunity we all would kill for. That's the only way a disgrace like you could win. You are not fit to wear the burnt orange and black of UT and I am going to prove that I'm the one, true Longhorn around here. Something Maria would've found out if she had a brain in that skull of hers"!
Cruz's expression was one of anger while Lethal was speaking, but he had a smirk on his face when he put the mic to his mouth to respond.
Matt Cruz: "Ya know something, Lethal? You've been getting up in my grill for weeks now, but I'm confused about something. I honestly don't know which of us you have the erection for, me or Maria. (laughter from the crowd, while Lethal seethes from the stage) Do you have a point for being out here, or are you out here because you heard the show hasn't made it's "whiny little prick" quota yet"?
CJ Lethal:(through gritted teeth) "Are you finished?(Lethal unclenches his teeth, while Cruz mouths "not even close" to Lethal) You can waste my time, telling your funny jokes, or you can accept my challenge for a match tonight, so I can whip your ass all over the arena and prove that the two of you (pointing from Cruz to Maria) belong together. The two true bitches of the TWF"!
The crowd "oohs" and Cruz steps to the ropes closest to the ramp and mouths the words "son of a bitch", while Maria's jaw gaped open.
Matt Cruz: "Okay, pendejo, you got it! (the crowd cheers at the answer) You're going to find out, punk, that when you piss me off, this Longhorn will gore and trample you and I won't even look back on my way to the grandest stage of them all. Be prepared to be a footnote"!
Maria goes to stand next to Cruz and slips an arm around Cruz's waist as he and Lethal point fingers at each other as "The Next Episode" plays once again. J.R.: "We have ourselves a match for later tonight, King"! Lawler: "Oh yes we do, and it's one I've been waiting for"! J.R.: "A ton of action here tonight in Phoenix so don't go away, we're just gettin' warmed up"! COMMERCIAL BREAK........... A COMMERCIAL FOR FIXODENT IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A TRAILER FOR THE MOVIE "LETTERS TO JULIET". RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE.... AN ARABIC CHANT IS HEARD AND MUHAMMAD HASSAN COMES OUT TO SOMEWHAT OF A MIXED RESPONSE. HE THEN HOLDS HIS HANDS OUTWARD IN SOME SORT OF PRAYER BEFORE MAKING HIS WAY TO THE RING WHERE LANCE CADE IS SHOWN WAITING. J.R.: "Welcome back live here to TWF Rampage on the USA network and it's time for our first match of the night and surprising as it my be, I think I actually heard some cheers for Muhammad Hassan". Lawler: "It's a sound I never thought we'd hear and it's all because everyone thinks this guy has turned a new leaf but I don't know about you, J.R., I was on the fence, but I just can't buy it". J.R.: "Well he seems to have become a big ally of Sebastian Cain's but he has a big Texan standing across the ring from him tonight and it will be no easy task to get the win here". Muhammad Hassan vs. Lance Cade Hassan came into the ring and extended his hand to Cade, who decided against shaking it. The two men locked up and it was Cade who was able to display a little more power, pushing Hassan to the mat. Hassan got up but Cade moved in quickly, kicking him several times in the gut before shooting him to the ropes and delivering a back elbow. Cade then dropped a big elbow across his chest and went for a cover but Hassan was up at 2. Cade pulled Hassan up slowly and rocked him with 2 right hands before whipping him to the ropes but Hassan ducked a clothesline before coming off the other side and connecting with a flying forearm of sorts. Hassan then honed in on the lower back of Cade, working it extensively and showing off some new found technical skills in the process. Hassan was able to lock Cade up in a dragon sleeper and Cade escaped the only way he could, bringing a big knee into the face of Hassan. He then got up and ran him over with a big Lariat that would make Stan Hansen proud. Cade made the cover, but at the count of 2, Hassan got a foot on the bottom rope. Cade had turned the match in his favor and after delivering a big delayed vertical suplex, he rolled Hassan over into a cover and got a long 2 count. The onslaught continued for Cade as he picked Hassan up and slammed him to the mat. He then went to the top rope and flew off with an elbow drop that surely would've ended things. But Hassan rolled out of the way, gaining a second and maybe even a third wind. He got up and stung Cade with 3 overhand rights before whipping him to the ropes and kicking him in the midsection before connecting on a reverse STO. Hassan rolled Cade over and got 1.............2............., but Cade was up. Just then, Rob Storm made his way down to the ring in an attempt to distract referee Chad Patton. But Hassan wasn't having it, using the ropes to hold onto while he kicked Storm with both feet in the face. But the momentary distraction allowed Cade to come from behind with a rollup and he got a 3 count. Match Time: 9:22 J.R.: "Come on ref..... you can't allow that to happen! I can't believe I'm gonna say it, King, but Muhammad Hassan got screwed here and it's not right"! Lawler: "It may not be right, but there's also nothing he can do about it. Cade had a helping hand and Hassan..... well he didn't". CADE AND STORM LEFT WITH THE WIN AS HASSAN LOOKED ON FROM IN THE RING WITH A RELAXED DEMEANOR. J.R.: "A helping hand? That's what we're calling that..... these two complained about not getting any action here on Rampage and that's how they want to win matches"? BACKSTAGE..... ROWDY RODDY PIPER'S OFFICE..... CAMERAS SHOW BOTH DYLAN JANSENS AND YOSHI TATSU WITH ROWDY RODDY PIPER. Dylan Jansens: "Look, I know Yoshi here didn't understand what you were talking about..... and I sure as heck didn't understand him trying to explain it to me"? Rowdy Roddy Piper: "I need a team...... a team to face The BoogeySaints...... call me crazy, but I thought you two kids might work out well together". Dylan Jansens: "I can't even understand him". YOSHI JUST NODS HIS HEAD. Rowdy Roddy Piper: "It's not for the titles..... but imagine what a win would do for the two of you guys". JANSENS SLOWLY TURNS TO LOOK AT YOSHI WHO AGAIN JUST NODS HIS HEAD. JANSENS THEN LEAVES THE OFFICE AND YOSHI FOLLOWS. BACK AT RINGSIDE, "IT's A NEW DAY" COMES ON AND TED DIBIASE COMES OUT TO MOSTLY BOOS. J.R.: "Huge opportunity for Dylan Jansens and Yoshi Tatsu there, King". Lawler: "But it seems that there's more than a language barrier there and they'll both have to be on their A game if they're gonna beat the BoogeySaints". J.R.: "I've been looking forward to this match from the moment I found out we were gonna see it tonight..... Ted Dibiase versus Cody Rhodes". CODY RHODES' MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO PRETTY MUCH ALL BOOS AS WELL. Lawler: "Well I watched their father's have an intense rivalry that took years to settle and now, it's the new generation of Dibiase and Rhodes who at one time were both a part of the group GeNext". J.R.: "I don't think there's any doubt that both of these men have very big futures ahead but there is a lot more than just bragging rights on the line here". Ted Dibiase vs. Cody Rhodes Although there was no crowd favorite, the fans in attendance still looked on intently as this match started. Rhodes and Dibiase circled each other, calculating their attack. They locked up in a collar and elbow tie and pushed each other back and forth, both men intent on gaining control. Dibiase finally broke free and kicked Rhodes in the abdomen before popping him with 2 straight right hands. Dibiase then grabbed Rhodes in a front facelock, pulling him towards the ropes but Rhodes was able to get in 2 quick punches to the side before whipping Dibiase to the ropes. But when he dropped his head a little early, Dibiase kicked him right in the face. A clothesline then took Rhodes over the top rope and Dibiase followed him. The fight continued outside the ring with both men scoring with some punches, but once back in the ring, both men came up with multiple counters, ready for everything the other threw at him. It was clear these two men knew each other inside and out but it was Rhodes who was able to take control after reversing an irish whip and catching Dibiase with a dropkick. He then went to the middle turnbuckle and flew off with a reverse elbow that scored. Dibiase's mouth was busted open and Rhodes was starting to warm up. After several stomps to the head and body, Rhodes pulled him up and delivered a quick snap suplex. The crowd actually started to cheer Rhodes until he yelled "Shut your mouths"! loudly. That was followed by boos. Rhodes got Dibiase up and tried to put him down with the "Cross Rhodes", but Dibiase was able to escape and deliver a backdrop suplex. Both men were down and slow to get up. Referee Scott Martin began to count and reach about 7 before Dibiase started to stir. Rhodes used the ring ropes to get to his feet and they began to trade right hands. After blocking one, Rhodes raked Dibiase's eyes and threw a clothesline. But Dibiase ducked that and despite his vision being temporarily blurred, he still managed to hook in "Dream Street", slamming Rhodes to the mat. Dibiase fell into a cover and rolled him up to get the pin. Match Time: 8:26 J.R.: "Dream Street! Ted Dibiase has survived this round with Cody Rhodes, but Rhodes has the heart and grit that his father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes, made his name on"! Lawler: "You're right about that, J.R., but this night belongs to Dibiase..... what a win"! "IT's A NEW DAY" PLAYED AGAIN AS DIBIASE LEFT THE RING TO AN ARENA FULL OF BOOS, HIS ARMS RAISED AS THE SHOT FADED TO BLACK. COMMERCIAL BREAK........... A COMMERCIAL FOR STATE FARM INSURANCE IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR THE BLACKBERRY CURVE. RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE...... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, SEBASTIAN CAIN IS SHOWN CHATTING IT UP WITH DUKE AXE WHEN MUHAMMAD HASSAN COMES UP. Duke Axe: "Uh..... I'll catch up with ya later, man". AXE WALKS OFF AS CAIN TURNS TO HASSAN. Muhammad Hassan: "I thought we had an agreement. I lost my match having to deal with two guys out there tonight". Sebastian Cain: "Yeah, I didn't see it coming.... I thought you had things under control". Muhammad Hassan: "I don't know..... but I think I've more than proven myself to you...... and everyone else". HASSAN WALKS AWAY, LOOKING VERY DISAPPOINTED BEFORE THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING. Non-Title Match Dylan Jansens and Yoshi Tatsu vs. Rampage Tag Team Champs: The BoogeySaints w/ Monica As The BoogeySaints went over strategy with Monica in their corner, Jansens and Tatsu took a page out of their book, attacking them from behind. After a double dropkick sent Boogeyman to the outside of the ring, they were able to get in some shots on The Saint. Referee Jose Mendez ordered Yoshi to his corner as Jansens delivered a swinging neckbreaker to The Saint before running the ropes but The Boogeyman was able to recover and pull the top rope down on Jansens, sending him hard to the floor. Boogeyman then made the exchange with The Saint as Monica measured Jansens for a cheap shot. But Mendez kept his eyes on her, preventing that from taking place. Jansens got up and rolled back into the ring but Boogeyman went right to work, putting the boots to him. He then pulled him up into a short armed clothesline but Jansens ducked and used a go behind to set up a nice german suplex, folding Boogeyman up! Boogeyman got to his feet and was met with a flying calf kick before Jansens made the tag to Yoshi who quickly went to the top rope. He flew off with a crossbody, landing it perfectly and getting a very near fall. In the corner, both Monica and The Saint were screaming for Boogeyman to get over and make the tag. But Yoshi was all over him. After several kicks to the body, Tatsu ran the ropes and drilled Boogeyman with a flying roundhouse kick. He went for the cover but The Saint came into the ring and pulled him off his partner to stop the count. Jansens came into the ring and hit Saint with 2 hard right hands before knocking him into the corner with a kick to the chops. Tatsu waited for Boogeyman to get up, kicking him in the back of the head and sending him sprawling through the ring ropes and out of the ring. But what wasn't seen was The Saint having the presence of mind to tap his partner's shoulder as he went to the floor. While Mendez was shuffling Jansens back to his corner, Saint came in and got Yoshi onto his shoulders, delivering the "Death to Humanity" to win the match out of nowhere. Match Time: 4:32 J.R.: "A valiant effort by the team of Jansens and Yoshi Tatsu, but they fall short on this night". Lawler: "And that shows you how dangerous the BoogeySaints are, J.R., they were in a little bit of trouble in this match and within a matter of seconds, they were able to turn things in their favor and get the win"! "I WILL BE HEARD" BY HATEBREED PLAYED THE BOOGEYSAINTS TO THE BACK AS THEY LEFT WITH THEIR TITLES. MONICA ALSO HELD UP HER WOMEN's TITLE AS THE CROWD BOOED. J.R.: "The dominant reign of this bizarre trio continues". *The Titantron cuts to the locker room, and shows Richard Ramsley leaning against the wall. He has his pointer and middle finger stretched out, with one finger pressing against each eyebrow. His fingernails are
coated in a layer of what appears to be either black nail polish, or black marker. He slowly sways his head back and forth, his hair slowly
swaying in rhythm. Suddenly, he stops, and looks up, a twisted grin on his face. The camera pans out to show Troy Gafgen sitting on a nearby
chair. Troy's face reveals an individual that has become used to Ramsley's eccentric behaviorism.
Troy Gafgen: "What's on your mind now, Ramsley"?
Ramsley chuckles, and walks over to Troy, patting him on the shoulder.
Richard Ramsley: "Well, Troy, I think it's time for you to get your final lesson. And once you've learned this, we'll be ready to start making things happen. You ready"?
Troy Gafgen: "Sure, let me have it, man".
Richard Ramsley: "Good... now, if you remember correctly, and you better, the
first rule was, very simply, bend the rules to benefit yourself. The second rule was aggression. Don't let up on your opponent, and focus on any injuries they might get during the course of the match. And
now, Troy, here is the final, and most important lesson. This.... this
is something I learned a long time ago... heh....it's just about the only thing my father ever taught me... your final lesson, is this: Pain... is a blessing, Troy".
Troy looks slightly confused, as Ramsley begins to rub his shoulder.
Troy Gafgen: "Yeah, um.... your other lessons were pretty straight forward, but this one.... you mind explaining that a bit more for me"?
Suddenly, Gafgen cries out in pain as Ramsley visibly grips down on the trapezius muscle of Troy. Ramsley's face twists into one of utter rage, as Gafgen squirms under his grip.
Richard Ramsley: "Shut up, and PAY ATTENTION! You feel it, Troy!?!? You feel it..... yeah....even I feel it.... your muscle's are getting really tight
there, Troy.. .COME ON! Come on, do what your body's telling you to do, Troy! DO IT"!
Troy suddenly slaps Ramsley's hand away, and stands up. Breathing heavily, Troy pulls his hand back, and decks Ramsley across the face with a stiff right hand. Ramsley is sent reeling into the wall, and
slowly slides to the ground.
Troy Gafgen: "Damn, man, are you okay!? I'm sorry, I just... you were cramping my damn shoulder, I...
Quietly, Ramsley begins to chuckle, and slowly, it turns into an echoing laugh. He wipes his mouth, revealing a small trickle of blood. Quickly, he jumps off the ground, and runs his hand through his hair.
Richard Ramsley: "No, Troy, it's fine! It's more than fine, actually! You just learned your last lesson".
Gafgen once again looks puzzled.
Richard Ramsley: "See... pain is a blessing. It makes you angry, it fuels you, makes you do things you normally wouldn't, or couldn't do. You need to
learn to focus what you just experienced in the ring... every time your opponent hits you in the ring, you need to get more and more angry. Make sure that for every ounce of pain he makes you feel, you make him
feel twice as much. NEVER think that pain is a bad thing, even after the match is over... see, every bump, every bruise, and scar that you get, is a promise to you, from your own body. It's a promise that it's going to get stronger, and tougher. It's a promise that it'll be able to take even more pain from then on out. And more pain means more
anger.... more anger... means more power. And Troy, this ain't some mystic zen technique that took years to master, no, it's basic human instinct. Everyone else holds it back, though. And that's what
makes us stronger than them. We don't hold ourselves back. So what I want you to do, Troy, is get out there, and have your match. I want you to use what I've taught you thus far. Show me that you're ready
for bigger and better things. And if you can prove that to me.... then a lot of big things will start happening for us, I promise you that. So Troy.... go out there.... and get hurt".
Troy nods slowly, taking in what he was just told. He rubs his chin with his hand and leaves the room. The sound of the door shutting can be heard as the camera zooms in on Ramsley's face and another grin
slowly spreads on it.
Richard Ramsley (to himself): "And while you're doing that, Troy... I've got some business to tend to".
THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING WHERE "BLACK" BY SEVENDUST COMES ON AND SEBASTIAN CAIN COMES OUT FROM THE BACK. J.R.: "Well ever since the Royal Rumble where his long reign as King of Cable came to an end..... whoa look out"! FROM BEHIND, CAIN IS ATTACKED BY SHEAMUS WHO HITS HIM IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD WITH THE KING OF CABLE TITLE BELT. CAIN GOES DOWN AND SHEAMUS IS ALL OVER HIM, RAMMING HIM INTO ONE OF THE STEEL RING POSTS. Lawler: "Well we're supposed to have a King of Cable title match here, J.R., but it looks like Sheamus has other ideas"! AFTER ROLLING CAIN BACK INTO THE RING, SHEAMUS FOLLOWED AND LOOKED READY TO DO MORE DAMAGE WHEN MUHAMMAD HASSAN RAN OUT FROM THE BACK, A STEEL CHAIR IN HAND. SHEAMUS SAW THIS AND LEFT THE RING BEFORE HASSAN COULD GET THERE. J.R.: "Muhammad Hassan has come out to stop the carnage but the damage has been done"! Lawler: "And check this out.... despite the misunderstanding earlier, Hassan is still coming to the aid of Sebastian Cain". SHEAMUS WENT UP THE RAMP, RECEIVING A BUNCH OF BOOS AS HE LOOKED BACK AT THE SCENE IN THE RING, SMILING. J.R.: "Fans we have a lot more still to come your way, so don't touch that dial, we'll be right back". BACKSTAGE....... EDGE IS SHOWN WALKING THROUGH THE BACKSTAGE AREA WHEN J.J. RAMPLIN COMES UP. J.J. Ramplin: "Hey.... Edge...... you think what you did at the Rumble to Axl was pretty cool, don't you"? Edge: "What's it to you? Axl got what was coming to him and....... J.J. Ramplin: "Look, I don't care. I brought my gear tonight and I'm sure you brought yours. Don't give me that look, yes, that is a challenge.... for tonight. Meet me in the ring". COMMERCIAL BREAK............... A COMMERCIAL FOR FRONTIER AIRLINES IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR THE 2010 ROYAL RUMBLE, NOW AVAILABLE ON DVD AT TWF SHOPZONE. RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE...... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, RANDY ORTON IS SHOWN IN THE BACK WITH TODD GRISHAM. HE HAS THE TWF WORLD TITLE OVER HIS SHOULDER. Todd Grisham: "Welcome back to Rampage, I am here with the TWF World champion Randy Orton. Randy, you wanted to issue a challenge"? Randy Orton: "That's right, Todd, I did. I was just informed that at TWF's Main Event, I have to defend the World title. So I am issuing a challenge to anyone who I haven't already beaten before! That can't be a very long list, and it's all part of my plan to prove to this company that I am the greatest World champion it has ever seen! So I don't care who it is..... I don't care if it ends up being a popcorn vendor! If I haven't beaten you before..... step on up". ORTON LOOKS INTO THE CAMERA BEFORE THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING WHERE "RUN TO THE HILLS" BY IRON MAIDEN IS PLAYING AND TROY GAFGEN IS IN THE RING. "TNT" BY AC/DC PLAYS NEXT AND A SPOTLIGHT STARTS TO RUN THROUGH THE CROWD UNTIL IT FINDS CHRIS TIRPAK COMING THROUGH THE CROWD WITH A KENDO STICK. J.R.: "So the TWF World title will be defended on TWF's Main Event but right now, this should be a hard hitting affair, King". Lawler: "And this guy right here may be the mayor of hard hitting". J.R.: "We sw Troy Gafgen take what was deemed his final lesson from Richard Ramsley earlier tonight but will that make a difference in this match with the veteran Chris Tirpak"? Chris Tirpak vs. Troy Gafgen These two big studs went right at it, swinging away in the center of the ring. Tirpak was able to knock Gafgen into the corner after a succession of hard forearms but after taking a step back and charging in, Tirpak ran into the waiting boot of Gafgen who followed that up with a clothesline. Gafgen stayed on Tirpak with more hard-nosed offense but he missed with a big elbow, opening the door back up for him. Tirpak got to his feet and ran across the ring, clotheslining Gafgen over the top rope. Outside the ring, it was all Tirpak. After removing the protective padding on the floor, Tirpak scooped Gafgen up and slammed him right on the concrete floor. He then went up on the apron and came off with a flying elbow but Gafgen avoided that and Tirpak hit the floor with a thud. After regaining his composure, Gafgen picked Tirpak up and rolled him into the ring. He delivered a big vertical suplex before deciding it was time to try and end the match. He set Tirpak up for his powerbomb but when he got him up, Tirpak punched his way out of it. He landed on his feet and ducked a clothesline, bouncing off the ropes and knocking Gafgen down with a flying shoulderblock. Gafgen got to his feet and Tirpak hit the ropes but caught a kick square in the mouth! Gafgen then shot Tirpak to the corner and ran in, but he slammed shoulder first into the steel ring post when Tirpak moved! Tirpak then hoisted Gafgen up onto his shoulders and delivered the "Lights Out" to win the match. Match Time: 6:38 J.R.: "A big win for Chris Tirpak.... he really had to dig that one out". Lawler: "Ohhh.... here comes Ramsley"! RICHARD RAMSLEY HIT THE RING AND SMACKED TIRPAK ACROSS THE BACK WITH HIS OWN KENDO STICK. FROM THERE, RAMSLEY WENT STRAIGHT TO HIS EYES, RIPPING AND PULLING AT THEM WITH BOTH HANDS. REFEREE JACK DOAN WAS DOING ALL HE COULD TO GET RAMSLEY OFF AS TIRPAK YELLED IN AGONY. GAFGEN WATCHED INTENTLY AS MORE OFFICIALS CAME OUT FROM THE BACK TO ASSIST IN THE MATTER. FINALLY, THEY WERE ABLE TO PULL RAMSLEY AWAY. J.R.: "Tirpak has been assaulted..... viciously attacked by Richard Ramsley"! Lawler: "This is leading by example, J.R..... look at the mental notes Gafgen is taking". J.R.: "Troy Gafgen was unsuccessful tonight and Ramsley is seemingly motivating him with violence"! TWF RE-WIND "FLY FROM THE INSIDE" HIT AGAIN AND OLIVER STOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING, CELEBRATING THE WIN.
Lawler: "Oh my gosh..... look at this"!
TO THE SHOCK OF EVERYONE, M.X. OGDEN APPEARED IN THE RING, APPARENTLY HAVING COME FROM OUT OF THE CROWD. SENSING SOMETHING, OLIVER TURNED AROUND AND OGDEN BLASTED HIM WITH A SPINNING ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!
J.R.: "My God.... what the hell is this"?!
Lawler: "It's M.X. Ogden...... where'd he come from"?!
OGDEN SLOWLY WALKED OVER TO THE FALL OLIVER AND DROPPED SOMETHING ON HIS CHEST. IT WAS THE MASK OF JADEN CORE!
"WHERE I WANNA BE" BY THE VEER UNION STARTS TO PLAY.
Lawler: "I think we're getting an answer to one of the biggest questions in the TWF here, J.R.".
J.R.: "I would swear my eyes are deceiving me.... M.X. Ogden has returned here at the Royal Rumble and he has laid out Jason Oliver"! J.R.: "I know I was as surprised as anyone to see M.X. Ogden attack Jason Oliver, revealing himself as Jaden Core and we hope to have more on that situation later tonight, but right now, it's back to the ring as CJ Lethal has come out and he looks ready". Lawler: "Call it the battle of the Longhorns here, J.R., two proud University of Texas products ready to hook it up here"! THE FANS LOUDLY POP WHEN "THE NEXT EPISODE" BY DR. DRE PLAYS ONE MORE TIME BRINGING MATT CRUZ AND MARIA OUT. J.R.: "A very heated situation between these two men started the show tonight and we have seen over the last few months that these two men, although both loving the burnt orange, just plain don't like each other". Lawler: "Throw in the fact that CJ Lethal had his eyes on Maria, only to see her fall into the arms of Matt Cruz..... Lethal has a lot of motivation tonight". J.R.: "Not to mention what a huge win it would be to hand Cruz a loss coming off winning the 2010 Royal Rumble". CJ Lethal vs. Matt "Madik" Cruz w/ Maria As the bell sounded, Lethal had his eyes fixed on Maria. Cruz yelled at him to get things going, but Lethal would not take his eyes off of her. The situation was turning very awkward when Cruz finally moved towards Lethal, only to be kicked right in the face. Lethal then got down and pounded Cruz with rights and lefts before pulling him up and kicking him in the stomach. He ran the ropes and ran Cruz over with a clothesline before dropping an elbow across his chest. Lethal went for a cover, but Cruz was up at 1. Lethal went back to staring at Maria and she seemed very uncomfortable. When Lethal turned around, Cruz got up and exploded with a double leg takedown before just mauling Lethal with hard forearms to the head. He then allowed Lethal to get up before grabbing him and delivering a big belly to belly suplex. On the mat, Cruz was just superior, twisting Lethal and turning him into multiple pinning predicaments, 4 in a span of 30 seconds. Lethal looked tired as Cruz got to his feet and delivered a stiff European uppercut before shooting him to the ropes, kicking him in the abdomen and dropping him with a swinging neckbreaker. Cruz had Lethal in position as he went to the top rope, balanced himself and came off with a pretty moonsault, but Lethal got his knees up and Cruz ate them. From thee, a rejuvenated Lethal used his big frame to hammer Cruz, softening him up for the "Lethal Bomb". After a gutwrench suplex, Lethal whipped Cruz into the corner and blasted him with a bicycle kick after he came out. Lethal went for a cover, but he couldn't keep Cruz's shoulders down. Lethal pulled Cruz to his feet and tried to hit a short-arm clothesline, but Cruz ducked and wrapped both arms around his waist, delivering a textbook German suplex. The crowd began to cheer as Cruz took the straps down on his singlet and grabbed the legs of Lethal, turning him over with the "Colorado Cloverleaf". Lethal tried with all his might to fight it, but the pain was too much and he was in the center of the ring, slapping the mat with his right hand. Match Time: 7:02 MARIA JUMPED UP AND DOWN AS REFEREE SCOTT MARTIN RAISED CRUZ's HAND WHILE "THE NEXT EPISODE" PLAYED. J.R.: "A big win for Matt Cruz and he is rollin' towards WrestleMania". Lawler: "And it doesn't hurt to have that pretty little thing Maria in the corner, either". J.R.: "Things are certainly going well for Cruz, but the road to WrestleMania is certainly long and rough. Don't go away, because coming up next, J.J. Ramplin will battle Edge". COMMERCIAL BREAK....... COMMERCIALS FOR BURGER KING AND COMCAST ARE SHOWN. RETURN FROM BREAK.... RINGSIDE..... Edge vs. J.J. "The Ram" Ramplin Ramplin made it clear earlier in the night he didn't like what Edge did to Axl Irvin at the Royal Rumble and Edge made it clear that he didn't care. That set the stage for this match, which was nothing more than a brawl. Not too many technical moves were seen in this one as Edge and The Ram traded shots all over the ring. Edge used every underhanded tactic he could to set up an advantage, but he couldn't do enough to slow The Ram down completely. Finally, after reversing an irish whip, Ramplin caught Edge with an incredible spinebuster, one that looked exactly like the one Arn Anderson used to deliver. Edge got up holding the back of his head with both hands when Ramplin charged in with a spear. But Edge moved out of the way and rolled him up, grabbing a handful of tights, but Ramplin still kicked out! Both men got to their feet and Ramplin beat Edge to the punch before knocking him into the corner with a right hand. He then moved in and got up on the middle turnbuckle, firing down on him with right hands. But Edge was able to slam Ramplin on the back of his head with a bit of a powerbomb and he then stacked him up in the corner, putting both feet on the ropes, which referee Jime Korderas didn't see as he registered a 3 count. Match Time: 5:25 J.R.: "Oh come on! For God sake, why even have a match?! Why not just declare Edge the winner since there's obviously no way to prevent this crap! He tried grabbing the tights and now, he puts his feet up on the ropes"! Lawler: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again"! "METALINGUS" PLAYED AS EDGE LEFT TO PLENTY OF BOOS, BOTH ARMS RAISED. J.R.: "Yeah, that's sure a heck of a win, King. And when you combine that with what he did to Axl Irvin, I don't think Edge will be up for Man of the Year anytime soon"! BACKSTAGE...... IN THE BACK, EZEKIEL JACKSON HAS FOUND TODD GRISHAM AND HE LOOKS PUMPED UP, AS ALWAYS. Ezekiel Jackson: "Randy Orton...... you wanna issue a challenge?! You should probably think twice before opening your mouth because you damn sure have never beaten me! See you at Main Event"!
BACK AT RINGSIDE............
"ALL AROUND ME" BY FLYLEAF HITS THE LOUDSPEAKER AND THE ROOF ABSOLUTELY COMES OFF OF THE U.S. AIRWAYS ARENA! M.X. OGDEN WALKS OUT ONTO THE RAMP AND STARES OUT INTO THE CROWD AS THE FANS ARE GIVING HIM DEAFENING CHEERS TO TRY TO THINK OVER. OGDEN SMIRKS AND BEGINS TO WALK DOWN THE RAMP, SOAKING UP THIS INCREDIBLE ERUPTION.
J.R.: "Here is the man that changed the face of the TWF completely at the Royal Rumble, King"!
Lawler: "I know he's been here the whole time, JR, but his unmasking may have been the most important thing of the entire Royal Rumble event"!
J.R.: "You may be right, King. This man has been through as much of a rollercoaster ride as we've ever seen in the TWF, and I think all of that culminates right now".
OGDEN WALKS DOWN THE RAMP WITH AN ALL BLACK SUIT ON, WEARING A WHITE SHIRT UNDERNEATH AND A BLACK TIE TO MATCH. OGDEN STEPS UP THE RING STEPS BEFORE PAUSING ON THE RING APRON TO LOOK OUT INTO THE CROWD. OGDEN STEPS THROUGH THE MIDDLE RING ROPES BEFORE CLIMBING TO THE MIDDLE TURNBUCKLE AND POINTING OUT TO THE CROWD, DRAWING MORE CHEERS FROM THE SECTION OF THE ARENA HE POINTED TO. OGDEN WALKS OVER TO THE OPPOSITE CORNER, WHERE HE IS HANDED A MICROPHONE. OGDEN PAUSES FOR A MOMENT AND THEN PUTS THE MICROPHONE UP TO HIS MOUTH.
M.X. Ogden: "There's a famous saying that united we stand, divided we fall.... In most cases, I'd say that's true. In most cases, I'd say that's the basis for a successful enterprise, government, and society overall. Unfortunately, at times in life it's not true. At times in life, it's the polar opposite. In terms of GeNext, and more importantly Jason Oliver and myself, it's Divided We Stand..... United We Fell".
OGDEN PUTS THE MICROPHONE DOWN BY HIS WAIST FOR A MOMENT AS THE CROWD ANXIOUSLY AWAITS WHAT HE HAS TO SAY.
"Jason Oliver and I used to be best friends. Every time that one of us had a plan, we'd meet up backstage, we'd sit down, and we'd draw it out. Whether we were feuding or had nothing to do with the others career, we remained friends. Yet, through all of this time, there was always something that felt a little off; always an extra hole in the dream catcher, if you will. So, I lost my alliance with Jimmy Hart, Sylvan Grenier, and Gene Snitsky. I eventually even temporarily lost my alliance with one of my best friends to this day, Alex Shelley. They all hated me, they all attacked me, but eventually, I came out on top. Yet, none of this was what created the issue... Instead, it simply brought more upon me".
OGDEN PUTS THE MICROPHONE DOWN AGAIN, RUNNING HIS HANDS THROUGH HIS BEARD AS HE IS CLEARLY STILL FEELING THE STRESS FROM PAST EVENTS.
"You know, I debuted in Smoky Mountain Wrestling six years ago next month. Six years. I'm twenty three years old, now, meaning that I debuted in the minor leagues of the TWF at seventeen, won King of the Ring at eighteen, King of Cable at nineteen, and became a two-time Rampage Tag Team Champion at twenty. Since then, I've been pretty much unseen, and that brings us back to Jason Oliver and myself".
CHANTS OF "GENEXT" ERUPT AS THE FORMER ARROGANT YET POPULAR STABLES NAME IS REFERENCED.
"GeNext was formed and a shift in the power alignment in the TWF began. Every legend in the history of this company was left on their toes with nothing to do but fear for their legacies. We were successful, and eventually, we expanded. I gave Jason the idea of bringing in Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, and brought in Sim Snuka and Stacy Keibler as well. Yet, Jason took the credit, and the alliance, of Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase being in GeNext. So here I was, stuck in the shadow of a friend who swore to bring us nothing but mutual success. Here I was, watching my best friend ignore my existence, my friends wanting nothing to do with me because I screwed them over for Jason, and eventually, I found myself with what I had up until the Royal Rumble... Nothing. As I walked around, defeating opponents as Jaden Core, a masked mad man, all I could think of is the fact that with one pull on my mask, my life could come crashing down once again. So, after thinking, debating, and even aiding my true enemy... I acted. I laid Jason Oliver out with one kick, and now, here we are. So as much as I’d love to continue this history lesson, let me tell you what really matters: the future".
OGDEN BEGINS TO UNDO HIS TIE, UNBUTTONING THE BUTTONS ON HIS WRIST AS WELL. OGDEN LOOKS UP THE RAMP AND PUTS THE MICROPHONE TO HIS MOUTH AS THE CROWD IS BEGINNING TO GET ROWDY.
"The future entails oh but one thing, and believe you me, it is something that has been a long time coming. So considering the fact that I am The Future, I’d say that the future is now. So right now, let me just say one thing... Jason Oliver, get your punk ass out here and let's settle this right now"!
OGDEN WAITS FOR A FEW MOMENTS BEFORE "FLY FROM THE INSIDE" BY SHINEDOWN FINALLY HITS THE LOUDSPEAKER. JASON OLIVER WALKS OUT ONTO THE RAMP TO A CHORUS OF BOOS, CAUTIOUSLY MAKING HIS WAY TOWARDS THE RING AS OGDEN HAS HIS EYES LOCKED COMPLETELY ON HIM. OLIVER FINALLY SLIDES INTO THE RING AND HE AND OGDEN GO FACE TO FACE.
J.R.: "Business has just picked up in a big way, ladies and gentlemen"!
OLIVER IS CLEARLY TRYING TO PLEAD WITH OGDEN, BUT OGDEN IS STARING RIGHT THROUGH HIM AND NOT LISTENING TO A WORD HE SAYS. OLIVER IS BEGINNING TO PUT HIS HAND ON OGDEN’S SHOULDER, CONSOLING HIM FOR THEIR PAST. OGDEN BEGINS TO CRACK A SMILE AS THE TWO SHARE A LAUGH IN THE RING, ONLY FOR OGDEN TO LOOK BACK AT HIM WITH HIS EYES WIDE OPEN AND A SNARLING LOOK ON HIS FACE. OLIVER TRIES TO BACK OGDEN OFF, ONLY TO THROW A CHEAP SHOT AND CATCH OGDEN ON THE CHIN WITH A RIGHT HAND. OLIVER FIRES OFF RIGHTS BEFORE SENDING OGDEN OFF OF THE ROPES, ONLY FOR OGDEN TO COME BACK AND TACKLE OLIVER RIGHT TO THE GROUND, PUMMELING HIM WITH RIGHT HANDS. THE CROWD IS GOING CRAZY AS THE TWO TRADE PUNCHES, EVENTUALLY LEADING TO OLIVER PUSHING OGDEN OFF AND TAKING A FEW STEPS BACK. OLIVER KICKS OGDEN IN THE GUT AND HOOKS HIM UP FOR THE "CLAYMORE", BUT OGDEN SPINS OUT AND THEN BLASTS OLIVER IN THE SKULL WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!
J.R: "What a kick to the head by Ogden! Bah gawd what a kick"!
Lawler: "That's the same kick that knocked Jason Oliver out cold at the Royal Rumble, and I think it just did the same tonight"!
OLIVER IS OUT COLD ON HIS FEET, WHICH OGDEN TAKES FULL ADVANTAGE OF BY LIFTING HIM UP INTO POSITION FOR A BELLY TO BACK PILEDRIVER. OGDEN HOLDS OLIVER UP FOR A FEW MOMENTS BEFORE RUNNING FORWARD, LEAPING INTO THE AIR, AND PLANTING OLIVER’S HEAD INTO THE MAT! OGDEN GETS UP AND CLIMBS UP TO THE MIDDLE ROPE, POINTING OUT TO THE CROWD AGAIN AS THE FANS GO WILD FOR HIM. "ALL AROUND ME" HITS THE LOUDSPEAKER ONCE AGAIN AS RAMPAGE COMES TO AN INCREDIBLE END. OFF AIR....................
