Rampage came to one of the TWF's favorite stops and the hot Philly crowd was ready for a huge post-WrestleMania show. Sitting front row for this show were Philadelphia Eagles players Trent Cole and Jason Avant. Things got started off with a full slate of matches on Uprising.
AJ Hart vs. Drake Younger (invitee) Many of the fans seemed to know who Younger was and he quickly got the backing of the hometown crowd. AJ Hart, still looking to make a name for himself in the TWF, used a grappling based set to get Younger to the mat and try to negate his quickness. After a fireman's carry, Hart pulled Younger up and shot him to the ropes but after coming off, Younger smashed Hart with a knee to the head when he dropped his head and then came back with a jumping insuguri that put Hart on the mat. Looking to pull the upset, Younger went to the top rope and came off with a missile dropkick but Hart moved out of the way. He then used a quick Oklahoma roll and pinned Younger's shoulders to the mat to record another win.
Jay Nitro (invitee) vs. Kit Osbourne (invitee) TWF officials wanted to get a look at Nitro, whose jet black hair and painted face created a unique look, but Kit Osbourne was not about to have it come at his expense. Osbourne controlled the first half of a 7 minute match with several quick kicks but a tornado DDT was the biggest move he hit. Much like Drake Younger, Osbourne's demise would start with a missed high risk move. After missing a 450 splash, Osbourne ate a running kick to the face from Nitro. Nitro scooped him up and delivered a Michinoku Driver which seemed to end it, but Osbourne got his shoulder off the mat at 2 and a half. Nitro bounced off the ring ropes and kicked Osbourne right across the face again and that led to a vile neckbreaker dropped which provided the finish.
Christian vs. Ezekiel Jackson After falling just short of winning the WrestleMania Jackpot match, Christian looked to get back on the winning track but the massive Ezekiel Jackson stood in his way. Christian knew he'd have to be elusive to stay away from the power of Big Zeke and he was able to do that early on. Christian was able to hit a reverse DDT and then come off the middle turnbuckle with a flying elbow that caught Jackson on the jaw. Christian waited for him to get up and then tried to set up the "Killswitch". But Jackson countered and pushed Christian towards the corner. Christian tried to sling over the oncoming big man but was caught on his shoulder. Jackson then delivered a running powerslam that made Davey Boy Smith's look weak. He then pulled Christian up and hit the "Book of Ezekiel" to get the victory.
Rob Van Dam vs. Elijah Burke In the main event of Uprising, RVD and Elijah Burke put on a great display for the crowd. Burke was able to put Van Dam in a lot of trouble early by bloodying his nose and mouth with a right hand. After taking a lot of punishment, RVD was able to get back into it when he avoided the Elijah Express. After smashing Burke with a jumping spin kick to the face, RVD hit the Rolling Thunder. He then eyed the turnbuckle as the crowd roared and he jumped up and came off with a reverse crossbody. But Burke was able to counter by falling back and pulling RVD down onto his knees. One of the knees caught RVD square in the jaw and he fell to the mat as Burke quickly covered him, hooking both legs and getting the 3 count.
ELIJAH BURKE CELEBRATED WHAT MANY WOULD CONSIDER A BIG UPSET AS UPRISING CLOSED AND THE SET WAS READIED FOR RAMPAGE.
RAMPAGE GOES LIVE
AFTER THE OPENING PYRO DISPLAY, CONFETTI IS SHOWN FALLING FROM THE RAFTERS AS "ALL I DO IS WIN" BY DJ KHALED FEATURING LUDACRIS, RICK ROSS, AND SNOOP DOGG. MATT CRUZ APPEARS AND HE IS DRESSED IN JEANS AND A #15 ORANGE AUTHENTIC TIM TEBOW DENVER BRONCOS JERSEY. HE IS ALSO WEARING SHADES AND HAS THE WORLD TITLE BELT. HE IS ALSO, SURPRISINGLY, SMILING.
JR: "Well, King, we are starting this night out with a bang as the World Heavyweight Champion, Matt Cruz is making his way to ringside. Cruz and his opponent at Wresltemania, CM Punk, had one of the best matches I've ever had the privelage to call. That moonsault that Cruz pulled off was one of the damndest things I've ever witnessed!"
Jerry Lawler: "You're not kidding, JR. It was a thing of beauty to witness, with Cruz retaining the belt because of that moonsault. The match was not without controversey though, with Maria coming back and almost costing Cruz the title"
JR: "I'll tell ya, that young lady has a lot of explaining to do. From what I understand, not even her family was aware of her well being during that entire time she was missing. I didn't get a chance to speak to Matt today, but I've heard he was in a foul mood all day, so I don't get his demeanor out here now. He almost seems...upbeat"?
Lawler: "You're exactly right, JR. I know I've had a woman try and take everything from me before, usually only getting away with half, so I know how that feels. I don't get how he can smile. Must be a quick healer."
JR: "He must have a new outlook since Wrestlemania. Even a new theme song. Not my cup of tea, but catchy. Cruz has a mic, so let's hear what he has to say."
CRUZ HAS THE MIC, STILL SMILING, AS HE SURVEYS THE CROWD. THE CROWD IN PHILADELPHIA GIVES HIM A STANDING OVATION, ALSO CHANTING "CRUZ, CRUZ, CRUZ"
Matt Cruz: "Gracias, Philly! For a city with such a hard ass reputation, you know how to show a homeboy some love! (crowd pops at the mention) There seems to be a lot of questions surronding what went down at Wrestlemania in Denver. LIke "Does Hope Solo really smell as good as she looks?" I can answer that: hell yeah she does! Also, "Does Sunny really keep Joe Corey's balls in her purse at all times?" Well, only when Wrestlemania comes around. The rest of the time she has them in a vice grip. And "Does Michael Cole really have his head that far up his ass?" That's a rhetorical question, we all know the answer to that. The ones I've been getting mostly center around my match against CM Punk (the crowd mostly boos, but there are a few scattered cheers) and also concerning my ex-tumble, Maria. (the crowd really boos at the mention of her name) Oh believe me, I'll get to that in a second. First off, I want to get something off my chest. Ya'll probably noticed the new theme song and the fact that I came out here in a Tim Tebow jersey. (the crowd lets out a mixed response, mostly boos) Yeah, I know people outside of Denver are sick of the name and his season is over, but hear me out, there's a point to all this. Tim is the quarterback of my favorite NFL team, the Denver Broncos. He and I are a lot alike in some ways. Some we couldn't be more different. I'm a guy who would punch a nun in her wimple if she crossed me, while Tim is practically a goddamn saint! Where we're alike is this: when you tell us we can't do something or that we don't have a chance to win, we are going to prove you wrong every single time. They told Tim he didn't have a chance against the almighty Steelers defense, especially passing the ball. What happened? 316 yards and two touchdowns later the Steelers are home now! ( the pro-Philadelpha Eagles crowd cheers at this) And me? I had every "expert" out there saying stuff like (in a nasal voice) "Cruz doesn't have the right mind set to beat Punk" or "Punk has all the momentum" or "Punk is simply the best in the world right now". What happened? The internets' Golden Boy was looking up at the lights. I really don't care if anybody is on Punks' jock or not. The bottom line is this, if you tell me I have no chance to win, that will be the biggest mistake you will ever make. Ask Randy Orton, or Jason Oliver, Matt Morgan, Rob Storm. Just like the song says: "All I Do Is Win." That goes out to anyone who wants to try me. Whether it be goofy ass Dork Ziggler, Mr. Jackpot winner or my good friend, Sebastian Cain, the new number one contender.(crowd pops at the mention of Cains' name) I have all the respect in the world for Cain. He's a big time player now and deserves to be where he's at, but if he jumps in the ring with me, the phrase "Cry Havoc and let slip the dogs of war" will never be more true. You're my partner tonight, but I know, sooner or later we will be staring across the ring from one another. Now, on to a more personal matter, namely Maria. (the crowd boos loudly once again) I didn't want to do this in public, but it seems that the only way I can get some answers is to air our dirty laundry out to the world like some dumbass reality show! You'll pardon me if I raise my voice, but I get even more pissed off just thinking about this! You up and leave without so much as a damn text message and the worst part is not even your parents knew what you were up to. Your sister Janny was a wreck-"
AT THIS POINT, CRUZ RIPS OFF HIS SHADES AND THROWS THEM ON THE GROUND IN ANGER. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE ANGER AND FRUSTRATION ON HIS FACE.
JR: "Wow, King. I don't ever recall seeing this young man this upset."
Lawler: "Do you blame him, JR? Things have just gotten very real here."
CRUZ LETS OUT A BREATH TO CALM HIMSELF. HE CLOSES, THEN OPENS HIS EYES AS HE PUTS THE MIC UP TO HIS FACE TO ANSWER.
Matt Cruz: "If you wanted to end what we had, all you had to do was say so, to my face. I'm a big boy, I'd get over it. At this point, all I'd like to know is why. Why did you go about it the way you did, and almost cost me the title to boot, the one you helped me get? I thought we were having fun, since I still have the bite marks to prove it"!
JUST THEN, "BLACK" BY SEVENDUST COMES ON AND SEBASTIAN CAIN COMES OUT, RECEIVING A WARM WELCOME AS WELL.
J.R.: "Here comes the man who we saw become number one contender for the TWF World title and correct me if I'm wrong, King, but he seems to have his eye on the prize already".
Lawler: "I don't think there is any doubt about it, he has his eyes right on that big gold belt"!
Sebastian Cain: "Matt, I know you have some issues with your girl right now and I understand that's what you're focused on, but I don't want you to forget about me. Ya see, as long as that belt is around your waist, you'll be in my crosshairs".
THE CROWD CHEERS AND CRUZ GETS A BIT OF A GRIN.
Matt Cruz: "Sebastian, you're one of the few guys around here that I have any respect for..... and I would expect nothing less".
CRUZ EXTENDS HIS HAND AND CAIN SHAKES IT. BUT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, "CULT OF PERSONALITY" SMASHES OVER THE LOUDSPEAKERS AND CM PUNK STEPS OUT ALONG WITH JASON OLIVER TO SOME VERY SERIOUS HEAT.
CM Punk: "Pardon us for interrupting this little love fest we got going on out here, but Jason and I feel like we have some unfinished business with the two of you! And it just so happens have a tag team match against the two of you tonight. Now Cruz, I know you think you beating me at WrestleMania is going to shut me up, but quite the contrary. Ya see, I know why Maria did what she did to you..... and we all know those bite marks could be from just about any one of those losers hanging out on the streets of Denver"!
PUNK HANDS THE MICROPHONE TO OLIVER.
Jason Oliver: "So hopefully your admiration for one another can carry over into the match because Punk and I have no problem working together to beat the hell out of the two of you. Cain, you were the better man at WrestleMania, but anyone who has been paying attention to this show over the last, oh I don't know, six, seven years, knows that the King of Sting always gets the last laugh"!
"FLY FROM THE INSIDE" BY SHINEDOWN PLAYS AND THE FOUR MEN STARE ACROSS THE ARENA FROM ONE ANOTHER.
J.R.: "What a main event that is going to be, King! Arguably the four biggest names on Rampage all in the same ring".
Lawler: "Yeah, and one guy has the number one contender for his title as a partner and someone claiming to know why his relationship ended as an opponent"!
COMMERCIAL BREAK.......... COMMERCIALS FOR THE GILLETE FUSION RAZOR AND SOUTHWEST AIRLINES ARE SHOWN. RETURN FROM BREAK...... RINGSIDE...... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, "HERE TO SHOW THE WORLD" PLAYS AND DOLPH ZIGGLER COMES OUT TO SOME STIRRING BOOS. WITH HIM HE HAS THE WRESTLEMANIA JACKPOT BRIEFCASE. KAVAL IS SHOWN IN THE RING AS HE MAKES HIS WAY OUT. J.R.: "We welcome you all back to TWF Rampage here on the USA network and you are looking at a man who had his crowning achievement to this point in his career take place at WrestleMania when he bested five other guys to win that briefcase". Lawler: "And he has between now and WrestleMania 13 to decide when he's going to cash it in....... heck, he could do it tonight"! J.R.: "Kaval will provide the opposition tonight for Ziggler and he will need to be at his best tonight, Ziggler has been on a roll". Dolph Ziggler vs. Kaval Ziggler stashed his briefcase in the corner and then went after Kaval, looking to catch him with an open hand. Kaval backed off and then ran in with some kicks before slapping the chest of Ziggler with some knifedge chops. He then went for an irish whip but Ziggler reversed it and then took Kaval out with a reverse back elbow. After a nice elbow drop, Ziggler actually began to do some sit-ups next to Kaval. Getting Kaval to his feet, Ziggler pushed him into the corner and went to his body with some punches. After whipping him across the ring to the opposite corner, Ziggler ran in but Kaval got out of the way. He then sprung off the ring ropes and was able to take Ziggler down with an impressive headscissor. Kaval got up and laid in some stiff kicks to the body of Dolph before waiting for him to get up and pelting him with a spin kick to the face. Kaval had Ziggler in some trouble as he grabbed him from behind around the waist. It appeared Kaval was looking for a german suplex but Ziggler used a standing switch and out of nowhere he slapped on his sleeper hold. Kaval tried to fight free and got to the ropes to get a break. Ziggler was forced away by referee Chad Patton and Kaval ran in with a kick but Dolph avoided it. Then, for a second time, he put the sleeper on. This time there was nowhere for Kaval to go and Ziggler slowly wore him down, sapping all the energy he could. Finally, Patton checked his arm and there was nothing there so he called for the bell. Match Time: 5:19 BACKSTAGE...... IN THE BACK, DREW McINTYRE IS SHOWN WITH COURTNEY TAYLOR. Courtney Taylor: "Drew McIntyre, in just a few moments, you are scheduled to take on Cosa Enigmatica but you first wanted to say something......... Drew McIntyre: "You're right, I did, so move the microphone up so I can speak and fix your pretty little eyes on me. Ya see, it's 2012 now, and it's time for me to get back to the road I was on when I got here. No more sidekick, no more servant, no more Sebastian Cain and no more anyone else....... 2012 will be the year of Drew McIntyre and I promise you...... the party......... has just gotten started". The shot shifts over to another part of the backstage area where TWF rookie AJ Hart is shown in his ring gear talking to Natalya.
AJ Hart: ......."So that's where the name came from".
Natalya: "That makes sense and we really appreciate what you are doing with it and why".
AJ Hart: "That's good, after all I meant every word of what I said. But listen, I was wondering do you think we could maybe.......
Before Hart can finish his sentence, he gets blindsided by Rob Storm who knocks him to the ground. Hart instantly clutches the back of his head and Natalya pushes Storm away.
Natalya: "What the heck is the matter with you"?
Storm glares down at Hart, then smirks before walking away as Natalya checks on Hart before the shot fades out. COMMERCIAL BREAK........ A COMMERCIAL FOR VONAGE IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY A TRAILER FOR THE MOVIE "WAR HORSE". RETURN FROM BREAK...... RINGSIDE...... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, "BROKEN DREAMS" COMES ON AND DREW McINTYRE HEADS OUT FROM THE BACK. HE IS GREETED BY BOOS. COSA ENIGMATICA IS SHOWN AWAITING IN THE RING. J.R.: "Happy you can be with us tonight for Rampage, folks, and just before we went to break, Drew McIntyre exclaimed that 2012 will be his year, King". Lawler: "Well he's not being held back by being someone's personal servant anymore and I gotta say, I see no reason why 2012 won't be his year". J.R.: "Tonight he draws the young masked man, Cosa Enigmatica who could really boost his resume with an upset here tonight". Cosa Enigmatica vs. Drew McIntyre McIntyre came into the ring and before the bell even sounded, he attacked Enigmatica. Pounding him with kicks and overhand punches, McIntyre backed Cosa into the corner with his aggressive attack, finally forcing referee Scott Martin to pull him away. Drew came back in with a big clothesline before stomping on Enigmatica some more. He then used his knee, pressing it against the throat of Cosa as he threatened to pull off his unique mask. Cosa finally fought free but ate some more kicks from McIntyre who then whipped him to the ropes. After ducking a clothesline, Enigmatica came off the ring ropes with a springboard dropkick. He then hit a running senton splash to get himself back into the match. But as he climbed the turnbuckle, McIntyre pushed aside any threat of an upset by yanking him to the mat by his right foot. After a running kick caught Enigmatica square in the face, he got him up and delivered the "Future Shock" DDT. McIntyre then rolled Cosa over and got the 3 count. Match Time: 4:35 J.R.: "An incredibly impressive performance here by Drew McIntyre". Lawler: "As he said earlier, he's back on the road he started on here and he is as promising as anyone we've seen here for a long time, J.R.". "BROKEN DREAMS" PLAYED AGAIN AS McINTYRE LEFT THE RING, GRINNING OVER HIS SOLID PERFORMANCE. J.R.: "I don't pretend to know what party Drew McIntyre is referring to, but apparently it has restarted here tonight". BACKSTAGE...... EMPIRE SUITE...... TRAVIS WAKEMAN IS SHOWN AT A DESK AND IS EXAMINING A FILE. HE IS WEARING A PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT AND A HAT BACKWARDS. TRISH STRATUS ENTERS. Trish Stratus: "Mister Henning is here, honey". Travis Wakeman: "OK, send him in". TRISH OPENS A DOOR AND IN WALKS FORMER TWF SUPERSTAR CRIS HENNING. HE IS WEARING BLACK SLACKS AND A BLUE DRESS SHIRT AND HAS A FRESH HAIR CUT. Travis Wakeman: "Have a seat........ CRIS HENNING PULLS UP A CHAIR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DESK WAKEMAN IS SEATED AT AND THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING. "Worth Dying For" by Rise Against blares over the arena and the crowd rises to their feet and a thunderous ovation occurs when Strife appears on stage. Walking down the ramp he raises his arms pointing at the crowd. He's yelling, pumping his arms with clenched fists and pointing at himself in response to the crowd as if to say "I'm back and ready to raise hell'.
J.R.: "Ladies and gentlemen here is Strife, who after years of absence from the TWF, paired up with Nails and brought Travis Wakeman and Money Mike out of retirement at Wrestlemania, is making his appearance here tonight and listen to that crowd".
Lawler: "Yeah but The Empire was waiting for them as their insurance in the form of Brock Lesnar foiled their plans".
J.R.: "But does Brock realize what he's got himself into? Not only has he got the hardcore icon and madman Nails ticked off, but also this seven foot tall Locomotive, basically making himself a walking bullseye".
Lawler: "One question that comes to mind J.R. is where has Strife been after all this time"?
J.R.: "My guess is as good as yours King, but one thing's for sure, with the return of The Locomotive and Nails, things in the TWF are gonna get shaken up, I can guarantee you that".
Strife hops onto the apron, and the seven foot tall behemoth pulls at the top- rope, slinging himself over it with ease. Pounding his chest with a roar, the crowd goes even louder reacting to the energy in the air as he surveys the crowd with a satisfied grin on his face.
Lawler: "Wow, sure seems like he hasn't missed a day J.R., listen to these people, it's nuts"!
J.R.: "The man always did put on a show when he performed in the ring, and now it seems he's returned with a helluva lot more charisma, playing up to the fans tonight".
Strife calls for a mic, when it's handed to him he goes to speak but pauses when drowned out by the roar of the crowd's chanting "Strife.... Strife.... Strife.... Strife". His grin widens at the chanting and he suddenly comes alive once more, raising both arms with a hellish roar and the crowd goes wild again soaking up the energetic response.
Strife: "OK, OK, let's all relax and bring it to a simmer so I can have a word in here people".
The crowd slowly comes to a simmer.
Strife: "First thing I'd like to say is to all of those in attendance tonight; Thank you for the warm, and rather loud welcoming, and to that I say: THE LOCOMOTIVE IS BACK"!!!!!!!!!!
The crowd goes live again and it takes a moment for Strife to bring them to a hush with a raised hand signaling to them he's not done.
Strife: "Now, I do have to apologize to all of you. "Apologize for what, Strife?" you might be asking yourselves. The fact of the matter is I left this company, feeling bereft. Deprived and neglected by the company that I shed sweat, blood and tears for. A company that I performed for night after night, giving one hundred and ten percent of whatever I had. A company that I represented and fought for when other federations attempted to overthrow it. A company that in it's evolution threw me further to the sidelines".
A portion of the crowd could be heard booing while others stood perplexed by his words.
Strife: "After a bout of depression and a constant nagging of myself asking “where's my career headed? Am I done for? Has The Locomotive finally reached the end of the track?
He pauses for a moment, listening to some unfavorable responses from the people.
Strife: So after my departure, I went and hit the Japanese, Latin American and European wrestling circuits, but found no solace there. I then went back to my hometown of Brooklyn, back to my roots. Building up my confidence, showing the young ones trying to break into the biz what it takes. I schooled myself by hitting the books. But all the while I was still watching the shows the TWF put on. The stars coming and going, the foul plays being played, and the downward spiral that the TWF went into. It was then that I received a visit from an old acquaintance. And in a nutshell the conversation was completely one sided and went a little something like this: "Why don't you stop feeling sorry fer yerself yah pansey ass? A locomotive don't stop fer nuthin' an' mows down whatever's in it's way. Now get some o' that coal up yer ass an' get back ta work! An' that's the bottom line...
Srife pauses, facing the mic into the crowd as they finished off the line: CAUSE STONE COLD SAYS SO!!!
Lawler: "Steve Austin? So he not only got Nails to return...... but Strife too"?
J.R.: "The Texas Rattlesnake seems to wanna stir things up, and he sure picked two people that can get the job done"!
Strife: "So being that he had such a compelling argue...
Just then, Strife is interrupted by The Empire's theme and Money Mike steps out from backstage with a mic in hand. The crowd begin their boos and chants of "asshole, asshole, asshole" but Mike seems to enjoy the attention.
Money Mike: "Right, well this is the asshole that all you people paid to come see....
He then pulls a wad of cash from his pocket and holds it up. Now onto you, Strife. Ya know, that's all fine, because the fact of the matter is, you and Nails were still defeated by us at WrestleMania. But you want to keep sticking your nose in our business...... we'll keep knocking you off of those damn tracks". "RUN TO THE HILLS" BY IRON MAIDEN PLAYS AND TROY GAFGEN COMES OUT, PASSING MONEY MIKE ON THE STAGE AND HEADING FOR THE RING. J.R.: "Troy Gafgen will be the man to try and knock big Strife off those tracks tonight". Lawler: "I hope he packed a lunch". Strife vs. Troy Gafgen The bell sounded and Gafgen, a large man in his own right, stared across the ring from Strife. Moments later, they collided in the center of the ring, trading shots. Gafgen got in a low kick and then went for an irish whip but Strife countered and shot him in, connecting with a back elbow before just drilling Gafgen with a clothesline. Strife then landed a heavy legdrop before pulling Gafgen up and throwing him into the corner. He ran in with a clothesline but Gafgen moved out of the way and then drove a right hand into the temple of Strife. The shot staggered him long enough to allow Gafgen to deliver a big swinging neckbreaker. Gafgen got up and yelled "YEAHHHHHHH" into the crowd, but his excitement wouldn't last long. Strife got to his feet and Gafgen moved in with more punches. But after hitting the ropes, he ran right into a move we haven't seen in years, the one handed swinging chokeslam! The immense power display brought the crowd to their feet and it also signaled the beginning of the end in this one. Strife got Gafgen up and easily delivered the "Wrong Destination", a move similar to Gafgen's own finisher yet seemingly ten times more devastating, and Strife covered him for the victory. Match Time: 5:25 J.R.: "Strife looks like he hasn't missed a beat, King..... that was impressive". Lawler: "Troy Gafgen is in the wrong destination alright..... probably about three thousand miles away from awake right now"! "WORTH DYING FOR" PLAYS AGAIN AND STRIFE STEPS OVER THE TOP ROPE AND ONTO THE APRON BEFORE DROPPING TO THE FLOOR. J.R.: "Money Mike said Strife will be knocked off the tracks but I can tell ya, I don't think the line of volunteers for that job will be very long at all"! COMMERCIAL BREAK....... A COMMERCIAL SLIM JIM IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR SUBWAY. RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE....... "THOUGHTLESS" BY EVANESCENCE COMES ON AND MONICA COMES OUT WITH THE BOOGEYSAINTS TO A GOOD POP WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS. J.R.: "We are back live here in Philly and even though they lost the Tag Team titles at WrestleMania, The BoogeySaints are coming out to support Monica in what is going to be a huge match for her, King". Lawler: "Yes the unthinkable happened. The BoogeySaints finally lost the Tag Team titles but what a reign it was..... a legendary reign"! "HELP I'M ALIVE" BY METRIC COMES ON AND KAYLA KARTER COMES OUT FROM THE BACK WITH KHARMA. TWO WOMEN ARE LARGELY BOOED BY THE CROWD. KARTER HAS THE WOMEN's TITLE WRAPPED AROUND HER WAIST. J.R.: "The Kings of Wrestling, who we will hear from later on in this broadcast, were the team to finally do it but tonight, Monica is set to battle the Women's champ Kayla Karter one on one". Lawler: "I'm just sittin' here wondering who would scare me more if I found them hiding under my bed...... The Boogeyman or Kharma". KAYLA HANDED HER BELT TO KHARMA BUT BEFORE THE MATCH COULD EVEN BECOME OFFICIAL, MONICA BECAME DISTRACTED BY THE BOOGEYMAN LAYING INTO EDDIE SAINT JAMES WITH A SHOVE OUTSIDE THE RING. THE SAINT TURNED AROUND AND BOOGEYMAN DROVE HIS STAFF RIGHT INTO HIS THROAT. MONICA BEGAN TO YELL AT THE BOOGEYMAN, TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. J.R.: "Wait a minute, what was that?! Boogeyman is beating the hell out of his tag team partner"! Lawler: "This partnership is disintegrating right before our eyes"! KAYLA KARTER SLIPPED OUT OF THE RING AND SHE AND KHARMA STOOD AND WATCHED AS THE BOOGEYMAN SLITHERED INTO THE RING AND THEN GOT UP INTO THE FACE OF MONICA. MONICA TRIED TO BACK HIM AWAY BY PUTTING HER HANDS UP BUT BOOGEYMAN JUST LAUGHED IN HER FACE AS WORMS SWAM AROUND IN HIS MOUTH. FINALLY, AN AGITATED MONICA SLAPPED BOOGEYMAN ACROSS THE FACE AND HE RESPONDED BY GRABBING HER WITH TWO HANDS AROUND THE THROAT. HE THEN LIFTED HER UP AND DROVE HER INTO THE MAT WITH A DOUBLE HAND CHOKEBOMB! Lawler: "Oh you gotta be kidding me"! THE BOOGEYMAN's MUSIC BEGAN TO PLAY AS HE CRAWLED AROUND NEAR THE FALLEN MONICA, SMILING AT HIS HANDYWORK. J.R.: "You have to think that The Boogeyman will pay for that! Losing the Tag Team titles has driven a wedge between this team.... one that will likely never be removed now"! BACKSTAGE....... IN THE BACK, COURTNEY TAYLOR IS STANDING AT THE INTERVIEW POSITION WITH RANDY ORTON. Courtney Taylor: "Hey Randy, later tonight, you have a chance to become the TWF King of Cable when you face Chris Tirpak. But first, did you suffer any serious injuries in that brutal Denver Street Fight at WrestleMania"? Randy Orton: "All I can say is that I won the match and I'm competing tonight, with a chance to become a champion once again. So obviously, I'm OK. Chris Tirpak got suplexed through a flaming table in his match at WrestleMania and tonight, he'll taste an RKO before I take his belt away". THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RING AND THE EMPIRE THEME COMES ON. FANS BOO AS TRAVIS WAKEMAN COMES OUT WITH TRISH STRATUS. FOLLOWING THE TWF's POWER COUPLE IS NONE OTHER THAN BROCK LESNAR. J.R.: "I think business just picked up here at the Wells Fargo Center. Here comes The Empire but take a look at who that is with them, King". Lawler: "I can see him. It's Brock Lesnar, the man we saw get involved in that huge tag team match at WrestleMania...... this is going to be interesting". WAKEMAN GETS INTO THE RING ALONG WITH TRISH AND BROCK AND IS HANDED A MICROPHONE BY RING ANNOUNCER STEPHEN DeANGELIS. Travis Wakeman: "Hello ladies and gentlemen, thanks for being here tonight. And thank you to those watching around the world, we seriously appreciate your viewership. I just wanted to come out here to publicly handle a few orders of business. First of all, I know you guys saw my secret weapon, Brock Lesnar, make his long awaited return at WrestleMania and since then, the phone has been ringing off the hook, the emails have been pouring in..... so tonight, I wanted to answer the question. Yes, Brock Lesnar is back in the TWF and has been signed to a very special, very lucrative contract by myself"! THE FANS BOO AS WAKEMAN HANDS THE MIC TO LESNAR. Brock Lesnar: "Thank you, Travis, I gotta say, it's great to be back here. And just like I accomplished my goal in my most recent profession by winning the UFC Heavyweight title, I will once again be the TWF World or Universal champion"! THE CROWD AGAIN BOOS AS LESNAR HANDS THE MIC BACK TO WAKEMAN. Travis Wakeman: "And now I'd like to get to my second order of business tonight and invite the winner of the Empire Sweepstakes at WrestleMania, Axl Irvin"! "KILL US ALL" BY TWISTA COMES ON AND AXL IRVIN COMES OUT TO A MIXED RESPONSE FROM THE CROWD. J.R.: "We heard Randy Orton reference it just minutes ago but a suplex through a flaming table on Chris Tirpak allowed Axl Irvin to win the first ever Empire Sweepstakes and now he's got a decision to make, King". Lawler: "A career defining decision, which way is it gonna go"? Travis Wakeman: "Come on in here, Axl. Now, we know that as a result of winning the Empire Sweepstakes, you can now either become a member of The Empire..... or face any one of us in any kind of match you want. So, what's it gonna be"? AXL ACCEPTS THE MICROPHONE FROM WAKEMAN AND ENGAGES IN A LONG STAREDOWN WITH LESNAR BEFORE FINALLY SPEAKING. Axl Irvin: "I am going to use this opportunity to become a member of the elite group in the TWF". AXL EXTENDS HIS HAND AND WAKEMAN SHAKES IT AS THE EMPIRE THEME BEGINS TO PLAY AND THE CROWD BOOS. Lawler: "Well there ya have it, J.R.". J.R.: "Axl Irvin has chosen to join The Empire and now, they are certainly stronger than they have ever been"! Lawler: "Good choice, Axl, good choice"! COMMERCIAL BREAK......... A COMMERCIAL FOR THE IPHONE 4 IS SHOWN FOLLOWED BY ONE FOR KFC. RETURN FROM BREAK...... RINGSIDE..... WHEN RAMPAGE RETURNS, THE CROWD REACTS TO THE HEAVY METAL POUNDING THEME OF DEMOLITION. AX AND SMASH MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE RING IN A VERY MENACING MANNER. A COUPLE OF YOUNG WRESTLERS ARE SHOWN IN THE RING. J.R.: "We are back live on Rampage and we are ready for tag team action as one of the most legendary teams in the history of this profession makes their way down the aisle"! Lawler: "And this gives us an opportunity to talk about our next pay-per-view event, Deadly Games". J.R.: "That's right, King, teams of three will compete in elimination matches with the winners advancing to a match of ultimate survival later in the night, a unique event the TWF has never seen". Lawler: "I'm sure Ax and Smash will be a part of Deadly Games and I don't like the chances of their opponents tonight". J.R.: "Azrieal and Bandido Jr. will provide the competition tonight but they face a stiff challenge, to say the least". Demolition vs. Azrieal and Bandido Jr. (invitees) Smash started things off with Azrieal and many of the fans in Philadelphia recognized the young team facing Demolition and got behind them. The last time Demolition competed together in Philly, the arena was likely still the old Spectrum. Azrieal's speed was enough to get around Smash early and he landed a nice spinning heel kick and then hit the ropes, hitting Smash with a big forearm. Bandido tagged into the match and hopped into the ring, kicking at the legs of Smash. Demolition was looking like an aging team way past their prime in this one but when Bandido went for a reverse crossbody after springing off the ring ropes, Smash caught him in mid air and then dropped him across his knee with a backbreaker. Smash then got up and put the boots to Bandido big time. Ax tagged into the match and came in dropping elbows, 3 of them to be exact, right on the chest of Bandido. Demolition then combined to pound away at Bandido in the corner before referee Chad Patton finally sent Smash to the corner. Ax went over and crushed Azrieal with a forearm that knocked him to the floor. Smash tagged back in and grabbed Bandido, placing him across his knee as Ax went up to the middle turnbuckle. He then came off with an elbow drop to complete the famed "Decapitation Device" and Smash covered Bandido for the win. Match Time: 5:06 J.R.: "A successful outing for Demolition here tonight and ya gotta figure that they'll get right into the thick of the tag team title picture". Lawler: "We mentioned earlier tonight that we have new TWF Tag Team champions and right now, we have the Kings of Wrestling standing by....... BACKSTAGE....... CHRIS HERO AND CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI ARE SHOWN IN THEIR DRESSING ROOM AREA. THEY EACH HAVE THEIR NEWLY WON TAG TEAM TITLE BELT OVER THEIR SHOULDER. Chris Hero: "Well done, Demoltion, we like to see some competition among the tag team ranks. At WrestleMania, the Kings of Wrestling did what no other team in TWF history has been able to do....... defeat the BoogeySaints". Claudio Castagnoli: "We had one thing in mind when we were invited into the tag team tournament, regardless of how far we went in it....... to restore and revive tag team wrestling in the largest wrestling company in the world". Chris Hero: "And now that we've done that...... and won the titles...... we will gladly take on any tag team this business has to offer". BACK AT RINGSIDE, "FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS" IS PLAYING AND CHRIS TIRPAK IS ENTERING THE RING WITH THE KING OF CABLE TITLE. J.R.: "After being involved in one of the damndest things I've ever witnessed, you'd think Chris Tirpak would be at an extreme disadvantage in this match, King, but his opponent may be worse for the wear". "VOICES" COMES ON AND RANDY ORTON HEADS TO THE RING TO A MIXED RESPONSE. Lawler: "I couldn't believe Chris Tirpak was able to walk away under his own power after being suplexed through that flaming table but Randy Orton was involved in one of the more brutal matches in recent TWF memory"! J.R.: "But tonight it's all about the King of Cable title and I'm willing to bet these two can forget their bumps and bruises in order to compete for it". Lawler: "Chris Tirpak has made a long standing title holder but this is easily the toughest challenge he's faced". TWF King of Cable Title Match Challenger: Randy Orton vs. Chris Tirpak Just as the bout was about to get underway, cameras caught Richard Ramsley come out from the back, wielding some sort of foreign object. It appeared to be a small lead pipe and he got into the ring, hitting an unsuspecting Orton in the back of the leg. Ramsley took the pipe and drove it into the chest and throat area of Orton multiple times as the bell furiously sounded. J.R.: "Richard Ramsley has come out here and he's tearing into Orton! Things didn't end in Denver"! Lawler: "They sure didn't! Look at Ramsley, he's lost his mind"! OFFICIALS RAN OUT FROM THE BACK AND BEGAN TO SHIELD ORTON. JUST THEN, RAMSLEY TURNED AND SMASHED TIRPAK OVER THE HEAD, KNOCKING HIM CLEAN OUT COLD. J.R.: "He just turned that pipe on Tirpak! Ramsley is showing fans why this show is called Rampage..... my God"! Lawler: "Richard Ramsley has gone crazy out here tonight..... both men are down"! OFFICIALS SCRAMBLED TO GET RAMSLEY OUT OF THE RING AS THE SHOT FADED OUT TO COMMERCIAL. COMMERCIAL BREAK......... COMMERCIALS FOR DORITOS AND SKECHERS ARE SHOWN. RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE...... BOOS FILL THE ARENA WHEN "FLY FROM THE INSIDE" BY SHINEDOWN PLAYS AND JASON OLIVER COMES OUT AS RAMPAGE RETURNS FROM BREAK. J.R.: "It's main event time here on Rampage and what a tag team main event this is going to be". Lawler: "Two men who came up a little short at WrestleMania have the chance to get a measure of redemption here tonight". THE BOOS CONTINUE AS "CULT OF PERSONALITY" PLAYS, BRINGING CM PUNK OUT. J.R.: "It would be redemption, King, but a small taste of it because even if they win this tag team match, CM Punk won't be the World champion and Jason Oliver won't be the number one contender". Lawler: "Well that may be, but it would be a big win to propel them back to a chance to get those things and this is the team in this match who doesn't have to think about facing each other at some point down the road". CHEERS BURST EVERYWHERE AS "BLACK" BY SEVENDUST COMES ON. SEBASTIAN CAIN COMES OUT IN GREEN AND BLACK TIGHTS, LOOKING READY FOR ACTION. J.R.: "Sebastian Cain may be the number one contender but he has a lot of respect for Matt Cruz and I think that feeling is mutual. I don't think there will be any issues with them teaming up tonight". Lawler: "That may be true, J.R., but you can't deny that Cain wants what Cruz has". "ALL I DO IS WIN" PLAYS FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THE EVENING AND MATT CRUZ COMES OUT TO A VERY GOOD POP. HE HAS THE WORLD TITLE AROUND HIS WAIST AS HE HEADS TO THE RING. J.R.: "Yes, but I think everyone on the TWF roster wants what Cruz has". Lawler: "Let's not forget to mention that we still have yet to hear from Maria. What was she doing at WrestleMania"? J.R.: "Matt Cruz eluded to that when he addressed this crowd earlier tonight and to me it's something that is clearly bothering Matt Cruz, and who can blame him? You have to hope that it doesn't adversely affect what is turning into a very good reign as champion". CM Punk and Jason Oliver vs. Matt "Madik" Cruz and Sebastian Cain Cain got into the ring with the man he defeated at WrestleMania 12, Jason Oliver. Clearly still reeling from that loss, Oliver almost demanded that they start the match. Cain was quick to oblige him and after a few quick arm drags, he popped Oliver with a right hand. Oliver swung back and missed and a standing dropkick by Cain took him off his feet. Cain then followed up with some more punches that knocked him into the corner. Cain followed in but Oliver stuck a finger in his eye and then kicked him in the gut. Oliver hit a running knee lift that knocked Cain to the mat before tagging in Punk. Punk came in and positioned himself behind Cain and then kicked him several times when he turned around. Cain threw a right hand that missed and Punk hit him on either side of the head before smashing him with a spinning backfist to the face. Cain hit the mat hard and Punk shot him to the corner when he got up, flying in with a jaw-rocking knee to the face. He then grabbed him for a subsequent running bulldog but Cain was able to counter into a spinning backdrop. Both men were down but the crowd began cheering harder and harder for Cain to get to his corner. He slapped the outstretched hand of the World champion and Cruz came into the ring. With Punk down on his team's half of the ring, Cruz looked into the crowd before going to the top rope. Looking to end this match the same way he did at WrestleMania, Cruz came off with his impressive moonsault, getting a lot of air. But this time, Punk was ready, getting his knees up into his chest. Cruz rolled around on the mat in a lot of pain as Punk got him up and hoisted him up onto his shoulders. Trying to turn it into the "GTS", Punk ate an elbow to the jaw from Cruz who got free and rolled him up. Instead of staying with the cover, Cruz got up and grabbed the feet of Punk, looking to negotiate the Colorado Cloverleaf. But Punk pulled Cruz down into a small package. However, Cruz somehow countered the pin into a small package cover of his own and he kept Punk's shoulders to the mat for a 3 count to get the win for his team! Match Time: 5:01 J.R.: "Cruz has beaten Punk again"! Lawler: "Was that three?! It looked close......... J.R.: "The three count was made, King, this one is over"! PUNK SLAPPED THE APRON AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE RING AS "ALL I DO IS WIN" CAME ON AGAIN. PUNK AND OLIVER RETREATED AS THE FANS CHEERED. Lawler: "Matt Cruz seems to have CM Punk's number, but he still is missing one familiar thing and that is the beautiful Maria". J.R.: "Well I'm sure he'll get to the bottom of that but as it seems right now, much like his theme song is telling us, all Matt Cruz seems to do is win"! OFF AIR............
