X Marks His Spot #8

Anniversary Edition

August 5, 2008

Welcome to the one year anniversary edition of "X Marks His Spot", thats right, it was one year ago that "X Marks His Spot" debuted as a TWF column. Since that time there have been many changes in the development wrestling of the TWF, such as the closing of the TWF's long time developmental territory SMW, the different writers for the Asylum, title changes, call ups. There is a new generation of developmental wrestlers that now have a spot in the Asylum and are working to make their way up to the big time. This column has been written in different styles, some better than others. With the one year anniversary of the column here, I have made the decision to change the format of this column. For one year this column has been unique due to the reviewing of the developmental brand of the company instead of Rampage and Primetime. Because there now seems to be less headlines coming out of the developments, I have decided that I will not report entirely on The Asylum. I, myself have moved on to the TWF and I am making the decision to bring the column with me as well. To sum all of this up, I am announcing that this is the final edition of "X Marks His Spot". I will continue writing with a new column format and name. With all of this said, let's get this started because at the end of the column, we will have the last interview of "X Marks His Spot". Let's go to the review.

The Review

To start off on the most recent Defiance, the Demon and Dylan Lee picked up a victory over the Wakeman Foundation, Rex Redford and Manchild defeated The Russians, and in an upset victory, Blade picked up a win over Asylum veteran James Diamond. In a six man tag team match, the Devil,s Advocates were successful against Mbota, Kaos, and The Gatekeeper, and in the main event, Richard Ramsley participated in his last Asylum match against CJ Lethal and as result of that match and the whole show the card for Locked Up was changed.......... the mega event results follow...

Interview

The column has just about reached its conclusion, but before we end the last edition of "X Marks His Spot", we still have the interview portion. Over the last year "X Marks His Spot" has been summed up by every interview guest, we have been called "A Hit", "An entertaining column", "A wise investment", "entertaining", "The people's knowledge into the future of this company", "Awesome", and now by the end of the column we will have another stars' opinion. So with the columns' transformation from developmental to top of the TWF, I've decided to get an early start, lets get this started with my guest, this is the biggest star to ever be interviewed in this column.

Joining me for an interview is the owner of the TWF, Travis Wakeman, welcome boss.

X: "First off, what do you look for when calling up a developmental star to a top show?

Travis Wakeman: "Since day one in the TWF, involvement has always been the key for a member. If I know you are involved and care about what I'm putting out, it will only help you. When I put a member into Asylum, I am looking for them to develop a character that I can use on one of my main shows but most importanly, just be involved. If you hardly ever go to the site and check things and out and if you have no idea what's going on, you'll probably be in Asylum permanently".

X: "With that said, how do you feel about the current stars of Asylum"?

Wakeman: "I think we have a nice crop of talent in Asylum. I think there are a couple guys on the verge of getting their chance".

X: "Can you mention the names of the couple guys in Asylum you speak of"?

Wakeman: "I think either Blade or Dockland Destroyer, right now. Both of these guys seem to have an idea of how the TWF works, and what it takes to reach the top".

X: "Okay, just about a year ago, the decision was made to close one the TWF's developmental territories SMW, why was the desicion made to close SMW"?

Wakeman: "The decision was made because not enough time was being devoted to developmental across the board. SMW was one of my original ideas, so it was a tough decision, but I just wanted to pool all of the talent into one area".

X: "I see. Next question, what has kept you writing the TWF for as long as you have"?

Wakeman: "That's simple. For one, I love to write and show my creative side. Plus, I love to put my shows out for all of the members that love to follow them. It's kind of an addiction".

X: "You do have many fans that constantly tune in to see what's going to happen next in the TWF, so how much has the TWF changed since it was first started"?

Wakeman: "Honestly, it hasn't changed that much. Obviously, doing it on the internet is a lot different than doing it on pen and paper, but the general concept has always been the same. The TWF is unlike most wrestling companies because when we say anything can happen, it's actually the truth".

X: "Travis, the people want to know, what is your favorite fued currently in the TWF"?

Wakeman: "Hmm, that's a good question. We're at a time where there are so many things going on, and so many superstars who have issues with multiple guys. I'd have to say the one I'm enjoying the most at the moment is the Rockwell/Michaels-United Nations ordeal".

X: "Good choice, okay time for some word association".

X: Idol?

TW: Hulk Hogan

X: Rampage?

TW: Quality entertainment

X: James Diamond?

TW: Not sure what to think of him

X: Asylum?

TW: Good training ground

X: Primetime?

TW: It's honestly always been my personal favorite

X: Chris Kaos?

TW: Untapped potential

X: X Marks his spot?

TW: Well done

X: "We can now add "Well Done" to the list as "X Marks His Spot has been summed up for the last time in an interview".

...and that's going to do it. The last "X marks His Spot" column. I would like to thank Travis Wakeman for his time and interview for this column and I hope to have him back in the near future. I will be back next month with a brand new column. I will see you all soon. All fear the Burning Hammer!
