Diano's 2 Cents Vol. 2

March 27, 2003

This week I am going to focus on March 29, 2003 in Tampa, Florida. That's right, Wrestlemania 4.

But I wanna start by saying god bless our troops as they fight for us

1. Toughman title/triple threat: Nemesis vs Nails (champion) vs Spawn: This one is gonna get seriously physical with the rules to these toughman matches and the hate between Nails and Nemesis. In my opinion, the wild card has to be Spawn. With the heat between Nemesis and Nails, they will focus on each other which gives Spawn one hell of an advantage. So I am gonna go with the upset here and pick Spawn.

2.TWF tag team title/triple threat/tornado match: Psych Ward vs Chono and Muta vs Bradshaw and Chris Tirpak(champions): The big suprise in this match for me are the champions. They have gelled together real well since they have joined forces as a tag team but have had a hard time dealing with the newest members of PrimeTime, Crazy Shane and Breakdown who do hold a tag team victory over them and don't take Chono and Muta for granted. My pick is Bradshaw and Tirpak to successfully defend their titles.

3. Wrestling holds only challenge: Kurt Angle vs Mr. Wrestling 3: This is one match I am looking forward to seeing because Kurt Angle will put on a clinic at Wrestlemania and yet the identity on his opponent is the one thing that may hinder things for him cause you don't know who Mr. Wrestling is or exactly what type of skills he may or may not have. But in the end, I must go with Angle.

4. TLC/6 man tag team match: Dylan Jansens, Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio vs Camp Cornette & Loki: For the first time in TWF history, this match will take place and for the matches history, a first with a 6 man tag team match. This match is a toss up but Chris Benoit is the key in this because he has more experince in matches when a ladder is a required tool. On the other hand, the dark horse has to be Loki due to the fact that he's inside Jansens head which gives Camp Cornette an advantage of their own. But in the end, my pick goes to the fan favorites.

5. Bahamut vs High Octane: Now this one is a major league situation for both men to be in. On one hand, Bahamut is much bigger and stronger and to be honest, much more of a killer, but Damion West is the upsetter of the TWF! He's beaten guys no one thought he ever would and has proven that he's no gimmick and he's the real deal on RAW. For this match, I don't have a prediction but I do believe that Bahamut needs this win more because he still lives in the shadown of his old partnership and needs to show he can still dominate.

6. Women's title/4 corner match: Akasha vs Victoria vs Jazz vs Jessica Lopez (champion): In this one, the strange thing is the apparent alliance between Akasha and Victoria which should be interesting with the Womens title being up for grabs in this match. But in the end, I have to go with Akasha regaining the title.

7. Florida Street Fight: Rhyno vs Batista: It's the monster vs the manbeast in this street fight and for me, this is the toss up of the evening do to the fact that these two are so similar it's unfunny. However, the one factor that I feel will impact this is the fact that Batista tossed Rhyno off the stage on PrimeTime and Rhyno has to still be hurting from that. So I must pick the healthier Batista.

8. Curt Hennig tournament finals: Austin Pyromania vs Christopher Nowinski: A match of two on a roll wrestlers in a very special match up. It will come down to who wants it more in this one and in the end, I see Pyromania winning.

9. Travis Wakeman vs Brock Lesnar: This is gonna be the one to watch with Trish Stratus' allegience looming and an injured leg for Wakeman to worry about and top it off Crystal Carmichael as well. Brock Lesnar has a major advantage going into this match which puts Wakeman's unbeaten streak at Mania in jeopardy. But you can never count out the technical magician. So I say Wakeman overcomes all the odds one more time and stays undefeated at Wrestlemania.

10. Stone Cold vs Hulk Hogan: This match in my opinion is a must win for both of these men. For Hogan, he needs to prove that he can still go and he can still win the big one and when it comes to Austin, a lot of people question where his heart is as of late and like Hogan, if he can still go so for me as I said, this is a must win for both men at Wrestlemania. As far as my pick, well I say Hogan will make a miraculous effort and avenge those two stunners to pull out the win.

11. TWF title match: The Undertaker (champion) vs Strife: This match looks to be a heavy hitter fans dream with Strife going back to the way he used to be when he came to the TWF and the deadman seemingly nudging him in that very direction. This will be good and in the end, I see the legendary Undertaker walking out of the building with his title.

12. Universal Title: Drew Blood(champion) vs Rob Van Dam: The prince of darkness will face the whole damn show for the Universal title and this will be a tough test for the champion due to the fact he's never faced anyone with the style RVD brings to the table. So I must go with RVD.

13. Jordan Rockwell: The biggest question of the night is will Jordan Rockwell return to face the man who tried to ruin him? Raven's challenge for a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match is an unknown factor due to the fact that he is the only one that knows about the match.

Tidbits on Jordan Rockwell: This time around I will focus my tidbits on the Rockwell situation.

a. Rockwell had his knee scoped by world renowned doctor Jim Andrews so you know he's healthy again.

b. He owns a home in the Tampa area so he won't be jet lagged.

C. No one has spoken to him so there is no way to tell what frame of mind he is really in.

Final analysis: I say Jordan Rockwell returns at Wrestlemania and win, lose or draw rips Raven a new one and in my opinion this will be the best Wrestlemania in the TWF's history. Well that's all for this week, so once again this is your boy JD saying that's my two cents. But hey, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
