2010: A TWF Odyssey

The TWF is officially entering it's second decade, and that is quite an accomplishment in itself. There was a great deal of surprising moments last year, and it is sure to be the same this time around. With Main Event being the first show of the new year it is bound to be a big one, and will no doubt set up some big things for War in the Winter, which is just around the corner.

With a new year comes new opportunities, and that means we could be in for one of the biggest years yet in the TWF. Last year saw a talented group of new blood rise to the occasion, while established stars continued to show their worth. Here are my predictions for the year 2010.

1.) Jason Oliver will continue to be a dominant force on Rampage. However, expect GeNext to break apart at some point in the year.

2.) Expect big things from the following names. Richard Ramsley, Duke "Diamond Spider" Axe, Kayla Karter, and CJ Lethal. Ramsley is the best promo man in the company, bar none. And that includes you too, Rockwell.

3.) Jaden Core will unmask or be unmasked by years end. Core is an excellent competitor, but I don't expect him to make any big waves until we see his face. Until that time, he won't reach his full potential.

4.) Slaughterhouse will hold it's first supershow or PPV, and it will feature some of the best action of the year.

5.) PJ Cash will win a championship in some way, shape, or form. He seems to be on the biggest roll of his career.

6.) "High Octane" Damion West and Dylan Jansens will continue to be used as meat to feed to the newcomers, although they could still be viable main event contenders. 8.) The tag team divisions on both shows will remain relatively the same, but hopefully a new face tag team steps up on Rampage or Primetime.

9.) Sebastian Cain will turn heel and become a perennial main eventer, because I am not digging him as a face.

10.) The lack of a Survivor Series type PPV will continue to upset me, even though I know another one will not be held in the near future.

With the new year upon us, that means we are only months away from Wrestlemania. Every year the spectacle seems to get bigger and bigger, with matches and moments unrivaled in any other promotion. One of the best parts about it, is trying to figure out what matches are going to be on the card, and who will be facing who. So, this is how I would book TWF Wrestlemania XI. Keep in mind, these are just some of the matches I would like to see and there would obviously be more matches on the card.

Hardcore Rules Match: Blade vs. Nails

I don’t really know if this feud could be stretched out to Wrestlemania, but if the match doesn’t happen sometime soon, it would be a fitting end to this feud. It would also be a good thing for Blade, a relative new comer to the Primetime roster. This would be Nails' signature type of match, so he would no doubt give us a show to remember.

NWA Heavyweight Championship Match: Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe -Champion

It would be nice to see Slaughterhouse get some exposure on the biggest show of the year, and what better way to showcase it than with a world title match? I have great faith in these two as competitors and feel that they could steal the show, even with a huge card surrounding them. Even if it wasn’t at Mania, I would still like to see this.

Wrestlemania Jackpot Match: Shane Thompson vs. Richard Ramsley vs. Jaden Core vs. Sebastian Cain vs. Axl Irvin vs. Chris Tirpak

This is the most unpredictable match on the show every year, and with good reason. Six men, climbing ladders for a shot at glory. Basically each of these men would have some sort of reason to be in the match. Surely Thompson would like to be in the world title picture again. Richard Ramsley is one of the up and coming stars on the Rampage brand. Sebastian Cain may not be King of Cable anymore by then, and he has World championship potential written all over him. Jaden Core is a mysterious young competitor, and would be a perfect fit for this type of match. And Axl Irvin and Chris Tirpak have experience in the Jackpot match in the past, and are the last two winners of the match. This could be something special.

Money Mike vs. Eddie Saint James

Now, hear me out on this one. Everything really depends on what happens between now and then, and whether or not the Boogey Saints still have the Rampage Tag Team Championships by then. But, this would be a must have for Wrestlemania, especially if it were some kind of no holds barred, anything goes match. Mike felt he wasn’t given enough credit for the success that Eddie found with the Boogeyman, and was eventually turned on by Saint James and Monica, so it is only fitting that he would want some redemption when (or if) he makes his return.

PJ Cash vs. The Rock

Probably the most unlikely candidate on my list, but nonetheless still an interesting idea. Say Cash continues his rampage against celebrities and no one can do anything about it. The world needs a brave hero to step up and put an end to Cash’s tirade. Who is the biggest wrestler turned movie star ever? None other than The Rock. I’m sure the Great One wouldn’t be opposed to one last match, and he is still in magnificent shape. Plus, it isn’t Wrestlemania without big returns. This is my wild card match.

TWF Tag Team Championship Match: Bahamut and Strife vs. The United Nations- Champions

Yes, in my ideal world, Bah and Strife are back in the TWF. Why not? They made a surprise appearance at last years Wrestlemania. Never say never is something I have learned. This would be quite the confrontation, and I really think they would be able to uncrown the UN as the tag team champs. Who knows if the UN will even be Tag champions by the time Mania rolls around. But..... never say never.

The Undertaker vs. John Cena

On one side of the ring you have the Deadman, multiple time world champion, and one of the biggest names in the history of wrestling. On the opposite, you have John Cena. Cena is arguably the biggest name in the business right now. This clash is inevitable, and it is one that I personally would love to see. It is almost like the unstoppable force hitting the immovable object. The fact that this match wouldn’t even be the main event shows how big of a show this would be.

TWF Championship Match: JJ Ramplin vs. Jason Oliver-Champion Two former Horsemen stablemates. As long ago as that may seem now, Jason Oliver’s title win is still fresh in the mind of Ramplin, especially since Oliver saw fit to rub it in his face on Rampage not too long ago. JJ has been on a definite downslide since Wrestlemania last year, and a high profile feud such as this would launch him back to the mega star status that he was on his way to obtaining not long ago. Not to mention that these two have great in ring chemistry as well, this would be a marquee match

Universal Championship Match: Joe "The Show" Corey vs. Jordan Rockwell- Champion

Is there any other match to go with? This would be one of the biggest championship matches in history and in my opinion would rival Travis Wakeman versus Money Mike from Wrestlemania 8. Rockwell is one of the greatest of all time, Joe Corey is making his case for a hall of fame bid one day as well. There is one thing Corey hasn’t done, and that is win the big one. Sure, he was ECW Champion, but anyone who tries to say that is the same as the Universal title is kidding themselves. I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to see this.

Well, I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on how everything may shape up this year. If you would like, post some of your own predictions in the forum, as I would be very interested in reading what you guys think about the upcoming year in TWF action. Thanks for reading!
