Hello everyone I'm Austin Mahomes and welcome to another edition of The Fire Pit. We have another fiery TWF.com exclusive interview with "The Franchise" Jordan Rockwell. As well as a recap of the latest show. So let's get to it.
Tag team tournament continues
Chris Tirpak and Chaos Wolf advanced in their matchup with ICP. After a pretty nice match much to the surprise of yours truly, Wolf and Tirpak sealed the deal with a lethal spike piledriver. I will give ICP credit. I didn't see them lasting half as long as they did. But the hellacious assault after the match is what shocked a lot of people. Several backstage sources told me ICP was irate and seeking revenge.
Pyromania is left laying
After a sneak attack before the bell, Wade Barret left Pyro laying with a Bullhammer elbow. It looked as if Barrett was only interested in dishing out the pain. Later in the evening, Joe Corey and Pyromania were spotted and Corey was overheard saying that wouldn't happen to someone in his firm. Did Corey set Pyro up? Or is 'The Show' truly trying to recruit him? This story gets weirder every week.
Gafgen first superstar to gold
In controversial fashion, Troy Gafgen is the first crowned champion as he is the JAPW Tv Champion (which will now be known as the TWF TV Title). After a lengthy discussion in Cornette's office, he agreed to recognize the title on one condition: that the title be defended on every show.
The Women's championship tournament continues
By far the best match on the last show's card was this bout which had lots of back and forth action and proves the women of TWF are bringing it in terms of in-ring action, competing with their male counterparts. Ivelisse was way too much in the end for Sage Beckett after hitting a sunset flip powerbomb to catch the three count. Match of year candidate for me so far.
And then there were three
The TWF title chase took one step closer to completion this week as we had the fatal four way with the person who gets pinned being eliminated from contention. All four superstars gave it their all in the final bout of the evening. Whoever makes it out as champion will be a great champion for the TWF. Mil Muertes came out the gates swinging trying to get an early advantage but he was soon neutralized. After more back and forth battling, Nails was knocked off the apron to the outside, leaving the other three in the ring. Rhodes was in the corner as Cruz stalked Muertes and hit him with an Olympic slam before locking in the Colorado Cloverleaf, making Mil tap out and eliminating him in the process. We now have our final three. We got a great one here.
And now time for our TWF.com exclusive interview with Jordan Rockwell.
Austin Mahomes: "Hello everyone and welcome to an exclusive TWF.com interview with none other than The Franchise Jordan rockwell himself. Jordan, thank you for taking the time to sit down with me today."
Jordan Rockwell: "My pleasure, thanks for having me".
Mahomes: "Absolutely. Now many people didn't expect you to be back giving all you accomplished in your first run with the company. What made you decide to return and what, if anything, do you feel like you have to prove"?
Rockwell: "I decided to come back for a few reasons. First, as a veteran, I feel like it's my obligation to make sure this company heads in the right direction. Secondly, I take pride in being the leader of the locker room and I feel a sense of responsibility I guess you can say for the company I've given sixteen years of my life to and lastly when the time comes that I want to retire, I want to be sure I've gotten it all out of my system so I can go home and be a husband to my wife and a dad to my kids. As far as proving anything, well, I don't think I have anything to prove to anyone as I said I'm here for the company, the business and the fans that have stuck with me for sixteen years".
Mahomes: "Now we all witnessed Money Mike cost you a shot to compete for the TWF title. Do you have any idea why he has targeted you?"
Rockwell: "Austin, part of me doesn't really care! Because I was expecting him to do something. Cause after all, stupid is as stupid does! But at the same time, I know as does everyone, Mike is simply put jealous of me cause fact is he's a failure in every way possible. The fact that he's been at this longer than me and I've surpassed him and ultimately cause I've got no fear in me for him at all. Ya see, he can say or do whatever he wants, fact is he makes himself look a fool with everything he does and says. And to tell you the truth, I feel sorry for him."
Mahomes: "You feel sorry for him?"
Rockwell: "Yes. Fact is he came into the TWF with the intention of doing harm and he came in here disliking me when I never even knew who he was. And fact is, it's just pathetic! He's the definition of beer muscles. One of those fools That act tough after a few drinks! But in his case, he acts up when he's got people with him. Plus, to put this in perspective, he had Wakeman protecting him from me and he came at me knowing I couldn't touch him. Now times changed and I told Mike I was waiting for the moment when that changed. And brother, I'm a patient man with nothing but time."
Mahomes: "Interesting. Now this time around, the TWF is not as prominent in the country and not drawing the type of crowds it has in the past. Is that any kind of adjustment for you? Do you like it better or worse with the smaller than what your used to crowds?"
Rockwell: "Well you have to remember we're just getting started back up. Fact is, there's no WWE in the equation now and it's going to take time for the fans to get used to that and one thing I can tell the fans is that the product is worth watching. These men and women will earn their respect. We've got a lot of new people in the locker rooms and they need to, as they say, get their feet wet and we all need to get used to each other. But this is a good thing! It means new matches, new rivalries and a new way to run things. But yeah I do like it cause as I said it's an opening to the new."
Mahomes: "What are your thoughts on the current Women's title tournament? We saw you this past week with Mercedes Martinez catching your back during your confrontation with Money Mike and Mystical, was that a one time deal or can we expect to see more of Martinez in your corner going forward?"
Rockwell: "Well I love women's wrestling, after all, my wife was one and a lot of my oldest friends are or were. So I'm for sure interested in this tournament. Secondly, obviously the biggest news coming out of this is the fact that Rosemary was forced to pull out cause of what went down in Mexico and that's a travesty to say the least cause she deserves to be in the TWF and in the tournament. As for Mercedes, she's a friend of mine that I made when I went to a Shimmer event and we hit it off pretty well because of common things. And to be correct, she won't be in my corner as you'd see back in the day cause she's obviously not that type of woman. But yes, this will continue".
Mahomes: "Seeing as you'RE no longer in contention for the title at the moment do you have a favorite that your pulling for to come out on top?"
Rockwell: "Wow, put me on the spot why dontcha!"
Mahomes: "Sorry but I'm sure the TWF universe is curious".
Rockwell: "Well I'm torn because obviously I've known Nails for several years and he's a well deserved guy. But at the same time, Cody Rhodes I feel is long owed a spot in the main event. So I wouldn't be let down if he or Nails won."
Mahomes: "Interesting comments from The Franchise, folks. Now lastly Jordan, have you heard about a Travis Wakeman return yet? Do you know if he's confirmed to return? And also do you have any type of inkling as to whom the new silent owner is of the TWF"?
Rockwell: "Uhm, well even thou I've known Travis for a long time, I have no clue. Cause when it comes to Travis Wakeman, the only thing you know is that you don't know anything at all. While I know he's loving being a dad and all that comes with it, one thing I also know is that he can't resist the urges he has when it comes to wrestling. And to be honest, selfishly I'm hoping he comes back for personal reasons. As for the owner, no I don't know who it is cause it's very tight-lipped as far as who it is. All I hope is that whomever this person is takes care of the company and everyone associated with it because if not, I'll take it personally. The owner is no different than anyone else cause when it comes to the TWF, I'm always going to take it personal."
Mahomes: "Thank you, Jordan, for taking the time to sit down with me and answer some questions for me."
Rockwell: "My Pleasure".
