REPORT FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 2001: As we rapidly approach our first ever interpromotional pay-per-view, we have some random thoughts and a few predictions so let's get started. Edge vs. Christian I never thought we'd see these two go at it in such a heated battle and I feel Cammie Copeland has a lot to do with it. Should be a fast paced match where one mistake could cost a guy. I think Edge is the better of the two brothers and he should take this one. IC Title: Rhyno vs. Kane This is gonna be a slugfest between the manbeast and the big red machine. Kane has been a worthy IC champion which was evident in his win over Chris Benoit at Tidal Wave. But Rhyno has gotten Kane's attention and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a new champion, but I'll go with Kane. Steel Cage: Chris Jericho vs. Val Venis Y2J says he's ready for this and I hope he is. Y2J has a lot to prove in this one and I believe both these men are ready for the next level. Venis has definitely proved his worth of late and with a win here, could get back to the TWF title form he experienced earlier this year. But I think the heart and desire to win will outweigh Venis' talent in this one so I'll take Jericho. Yuji Matsamo and Muta vs. Tajiri and Weapon R This was added at the last minute when the lightheavyweight champion Matasamo challenged Tajiri and Weapon R and then had one of his ninjas attack them, later revealed as Muta. I expect this to maybe be the most exciting match all night. But it's obvious from our recent shows that Matasamo seems to have more of a following than Muta and I know the question on everyone's mind is, who else is with him? As for the match, I think the team of Matasamo and Muta will be too tough. Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal: This one is ready to explode and as we saw on Free 4 All, Lita spun the wheel for Rockwell and it landed on "Spinners Choice", giving the choice of match to Rockwell. I expect him to come up with a very dangerous match and I feel this one could define the career for one of these two. Rockwell has the advantage by deciding the match so I'll go with him. TWF Title Perhaps the 2 best that there is right now are gonna have a classic. Austin has been on a tear lately and has had a successful reign atop the TWF mountain. But he's facing the cerebral assassin and a man who may know his style better than anyone, having been an alliance member with him. I'll go out on a limb and take the game. And now the interpromotional matches with that other company. Cammie Copeland and Faith vs. Jersey and Lana Starr First off, I'm glad to see the matchmakers got some of the women involved. I'm not too familiar with either Jersey or Lana Starr but I have a good feeling that this one will go our way given the ability of Cammie and Faith. These two are gonna go a long way in the TWF. The Rock vs. Sabu I have seen Sabu in action and he is a tremendous athlete, maybe the best in WCW2. It won't be for his TV title and I don't think The Rock cares. This stems from The Rock's open challenge to anyone in WCW2 and Sabu's backstage attack on RAW. He definitely got the great one's attention and The Rock will be focused on a win. I'll take the people's champ but an upset could be in the makings. Strife vs. Tazz This one will be a hard hitting brawl. But Tazz has been the most vocal of any of WCW2's stars wince our interfed fued began and I feel Strife is the perfect man to shut him up. Strife has been a terrific Hardcore champion but this won't be for the title. Strife gets the win but not easily. Bahamut vs. Kurt Angle Maybe of all the matches, I want to see us win this one the most. I commend Bahamut for stepping up to represent the TWF and teach the traitor Angle a lesson. I don't know if he can do it though. Angle seems to be getting better all the time and he seems to have found a career boost in WCW2. I'd love to see Bahamut do it but I don't know if he can. Street Fight In a regular match, Shane would have no chance to beat Ahmed Walker. But a street fight is Shane's type of match where anything goes and anything is legal. Walker felt Shane's wrath when he got a kendo stick to the back a couple weeks ago but Walker could make a huge name for himself if he could destroy the owner of WCW2. Barring outside interference, I'll go with Walker but if Shane has a plan, and I'm sure he does, Walker will have a problem. Hart Family Dungeon Pure Wrestling Match Perhaps no family is more recognized in this business than the Hart's and no wrestling school has produced better talent than the infamous dungeon in Calgary. Lance Storm has claimed he was trained better than Stu Hart's own son Bret and now it's time to see if that is true. Even though Stu is in a wheel chair, he will be sitting in the front row and I'll give you one guess which one of his former students he'll be rooting for. If this lives up to expectations, it will be the best match all night and if it's technical, pure wrestling we're talkin', I gotta take the Hitman. Wakeman vs. Jones Obviously, the most intense match on the card and maybe, the most intense match ever. Wakeman is a predator now but he's gotta stay focused. I believe Jones has his brother right where he wants him and Wakeman better beware of that. But I think Jones did seal his fate when he threw Trish off the ramp on RAW. One way or another, he'll pay for that. This one is no holds barred, falls count anywhere and I believe there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. It's very likely that someone will leave on a stretcher and I hope Wakeman knows what he's getting himself into. 10 VS. 10 Battle Royale Perhaps the most pivotal match all night, we need this one. I don't wanna root for the alliance or this demented Hardcore Revolution but let's face it guys, we have to. Has Piper killed 2 birds with one stone? Right now, I don't think that's the issue. The TWF needs to stay focused on WCW2 and keep in mind, this match will end once every member of one side has been eliminated. There are a couple of interesting things to point out in this one. Number 1, if you add up the members of the alliance and the Revolution, it only comes to 9 and the other thing is the fact that WCW2 has not revealed any of the competitors on their team and contend that they won't be revealed until match time. I'm pullin' for our guys and I think with the 2 forces combined, we'll pull it out. All in all, I expect a solid 9 out of 10 event with a lot of great memories. Hopefully better for us!
