The A List (And those in between) Vol.2

May 5, 2004

Well I guess the First A List did pretty good because I am writing another one. This one is different though. This is a PPV edition and I will go through match by match saying what I thought of the match and then give a grade of each Person in the match and if they are a tag team I will grade them together. If they teamed for the first time and maybe won't team again, I will grade individually. So lets get started and get to the First match.

TWF Lightheavyweight Title Match

Essa Rios w/Sean O'Haire vs. The Ultimo Dragon

In a great opening match Dragon Defended his title yet again. Essa was performing great until a mistake by the Self proclaimed manager Sean O' Haire actually cost him the match. I think if O'Haire would of never gotten involved Rios may have taken the match and would of ended the Long Reign of Ultimo Dragon. This didn't happen though and Dragon remains the best lightheavyweight in the TWF and possibly one of the best ever. It would be great to see these to go at it again but I think Rios has to earn another shot for the title and it's someone else's turn to get that shot. As for Dragon the Question is who deserves that title shot? I think its either going to be Rey Mysterio or Low Ki. Either man will set up a great title match for the future. Grading time. I give Essa Rios a C. When you have a title match you have to take advantage of it and to be in control for most of the match and then Lose it? On that note I will give a manager grade for the first time and Sean O'Haire gets a big fat F. I think you all know why I give him that. For The Ultimo Dragon, I give him an A+. What he has done in that divison is amazing and he is the hottest wrestler right now.

Batista w/Sable vs. Bahamut

We all knew this match was not going to be pretty and it wasn't. In a grueling match where there wasn't a real winner, Batista Survived it. Bahmut never really gave up he just couldnt breathe. The W is still in the book for Batista but it cost a lot of pain and blood. This match may go down in TWF History as one of the deadliest ones ever. As for the future for these men I see Batista to climb up in the ranks and maybe just maybe getting a Universal Title match and if not I think maybe Him and Randy Orton could form a team and go after those tag titles. As for Bahamut, I really don't know because I am not sure if he will even be OK after this match. Say he is fine and all is good then I see him going for the IC belt and getting a feud going with Thompson pending he is not seriously injured. As for the grades I give Batista B+ because he has had a very good month and performed great in that match. Bahamut gets a B- in my book, I would have given him a C+ but just having the courage to go into that match you deserve some credit.

TWF Hardcore Title Match

Frankie Kazarian vs. Johnny Stamboli w/ Guido Martitato

In a very good Hardcore match Stamboli got the 1...2...3. This match could of gone either way and it went down to the wire until A night stick got into play and it was lights out after that. I would like to see a rematch and maybe Ban Guido but it's Hardcore Rules and anything goes. In the coming weeks I see a rematch which Stamboli will win because of Guido and then I see a big feud With Guido and Frankie Kazarian that goes on for months and maybe leads to the end of the FBI. As for Stamboli, I see him fighting the Hardcore Genius in Nails. I think Nails is above the Hardcore title but I think that he will want it and welcome a feud with Stamboli. I will Give Kazarian a C because when you have a title match you must take advantage and he didnt but I think he will be hardcore champ some day. Stamboli gets a B+ Because ever since he won the title at Wrestlemania he has defended it week after week. I would have given him a better grade but he had a little help With Guido in his corner.

Rhyno & Million Dollar Team w/Ted Dibiase vs. Jordan Rockwell, Dylan Jansens and Edge

This was my favorite match of the night because it had so many different stories to it. It had the returning Edge, it also had Rhyno and Rockwell going at it for the first time since Rhyno became Benadict Arnold and turned his back on Rockwell. The match went back and fourth with quick tags and like I said this match was very entertaining. In the end the returning Edge got the job done and got the 1...2...3. Even with Dibiase in the other teams corner. As for these guys' future, well lets start with Rhyno. Rhyno better get ready for a lethal dose of revenge because I am seeing a huge feud in the making. Two former tag partners and great tag champs. Rockwell and Rhyno are about to get on one of the biggest feuds in TWF history. For the Million dollar team I am seeing a feud with Batista and Randy Orton if that doesn't happen I think they will feud with the Dynamic Duo but MDT will still remain champs. As for Rockwell his is pretty much the same as Rhyno's because thats the two men I see feuding. Jansens is going to continue to rise up and get revenge on people that have made him mad and he will once again get revenge. For the Returning Edge I only see great things in his future and when I say great I mean a Universal title shot. If not so soon then maybe he will feud with Orton or something or maybe someone else but I see him fighting for the Universal title very soon. Grading time, I will give Rhyno a C+ Because he lost the PPV and the Tag titles and made one of the worst moves in my mind by leaving Rockwell but i give him a C+ because he did defend those tag titles a long long time. Million Dollar Team get a B because they won the titles But with Help form Rhyno who turned his back on Rockwell And also they lost the PPV match. Rockwell gets a B+ because he won the PPV match and yes he did lose the titles but that's becasue of Rhyno and Trust me Rockwell will get his revenge. Dylan Jansens gets an A+ Because since he has been back he has gone through almost everyone and Edge Gets an A+. This grade may not be fair but he has been gone for so long and his first match back is at PPV and he gets the one two three so I have to give him a perfect grade.

Ravens Rules/TWF Intercontinental Title Match

The Dark Prince vs. Shane Thompson

In an upset in my book the Intercontinental didn't change hands. I thought Dark Prince would walk in and Beat Thompson and become the New IC champ but was I wrong, maybe it was the talk beforehand by The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels or it was something more or maybe Thompson just dug really deep and pulled it off. In any event, Shane Thompson is still the champ. As for the future's of these guys actually I am doing their futures together because I see a triple threat match in the future featuring Dark Prince, Shane Thompson and Bahamut. This would provide great entertainment and I think would be an excellent matchup. I am Giving the Dark Prince B- simply because He was on a roll up until the PPV and I'm not going to lower his grade that match just for one match even though it was a PPV. I'm giving Shane Thompson an A- because some people doubted him and even though they did he still rose to the occasion and defended his title and now I think he has a load of confidence and will be a force with that title.

Dynamic Duo vs.Charlie Haas and Axl Irvin w/Ted Dibiase

In a very good tag team match with a long rivalry going on Between The Dynamic Duo and Axl Irivn, It only got better when Charlie Haas got involved because now we know that we could settle this in a 2 on 2 tag match. There is always Dibiase but thats a different story. Now you would think that The Dynamic Duo would be the favorites because they have been a tag team for a long time and Irvin and Haas had never teamed together. Maybe the sides were even when Irvin put Cyclone and Hurricane on the shelves. Irvin and Haas did get the victory though and in great fashion. The only bad part is Hurricane may be injured but I hope not. As foe the futures I see if Healthy the Dynamic Duo maybe going for those tag titles since they already have a history with Million Dollar Team. As For Haas, I see him feuding with Dylan Jansens. These two have had a history latley also. Last but not least the Rookie Axl Irvin. I see him keep climbing up the ladder in TWF and still working for Ted Dibiase; not part of the group just a friend. Grading time! I give the Dynamic Duo a C because they lost to a team who has never teamed and hey have to take advantage of a rookie team. As for Haas he gets a B because he is slowly making his way back. Remember he did win the 2004 Rumble and Irvin also gets a B taking advantage of his first ever PPV match by getting a win.

Mr. Vain and Dawn Marie w/ Rick "The Model" Martel vs. Travis Wakeman and Trish Stratus

In a match that could be very Gruesome where the man can actaully hit the woman, it almost makes you squint your eyes or open your mouth in awe. The match was a good one though and showed skill not only from the Men but the Women too. Also you knew Martel would play a role in this. The good thing though is that he didn't effect the outcome. In the end the two ladies got the outcome and Trish Got the 123. Well the futures of both women are simple. They will continue to manage their men and that's that. As for the men, I see them actually continuing a feud with each other. I personally would love to see this and I see some stipulation involved where if Wakeman wins he will once again get a shot at the Universal title and I for one would love to see that. Grading Time, Mr.Vain and Dawn get C's Because they both lost at the PPV and to get a good grade and to get on the A List you have to win at PPV's. As for Trish and Wakeman, they get A's because they won at the PPV and have been doing good latley and overcame The Model Rick Martel.

Triple Threat/TWF Universal Title Match

Nails vs. Randy Orton vs. (c) Rob Van Dam

In a match that was hyped up a lot and was the main focus of the Pay Per View and was a great match where we almost had a new champ twice, RVD retained the title and remains at the top in the Primetime divison. This match was great and entertaining. It was amazing agian how RVD won against all odds and will continue to do so if he wants to keep that title because it takes a hell of a lot to keep that title and remain at the top of Primetime. As for Nails' future, I see him being very angry about this loss and taking it out in old school fashion by just beating the hell out of anyone and he can do that and win a title at the same time so I see him going for the Hardcore title. As for Orton, his career looks so bright and he is going to be a star some day and will be a legend with Hogan, Wakeman, Undertaker and more and I think one day you will be able to add Orton. Speaking of Legends, RVD is trying to make his case and he is doing it in tremendous fashion by beating everyone in his path and holding onto the belt like white on rice. It will only get harder from here on out. As for a feud there is two guys that come to mind. Either Edge or Batista.... either one would be a terrific number one contender and both are probably worthy. Grades are out and Nails gets a B+ even though he lost in his match he has been dominating since coming over to Primetime. Orton gets an A because he is on his way to superstardom and it should be noted that the guts he had by not letting flair come to ringside was great and for RVD A+++++++, he has been doing great as champion and bringing great pride to that belt and representing TWF as a Great champ.
