Now the last time ya'll heard from me, all kinds of wackiness went down. Seems to me, everytime I open my mouth, somebody gets pissed off. I wouldn't have it any other way, keeps things interesting. This is Gabe Morales hitting you with another LowDown, so let's drum up some controversey!
RAMPAGE
> Well, he wasn't my pick to win it all, but John Cena has won the Royal Rumble and is now going on to headline Wrestlemania against either the TWF Champion or the Universal Champion. As of right now that's Drew Blood and Shane Thompson, respectively. Neither one of those guys has any love for Cena. Cena has a lot of history with some of the guys on Primetime, seeing as how that's where Cena was when the brand extension went into effect. And Thompson has made no secret about not being afraid of Cena and is basically daring him to come back to Primetime. Although, by showing Cena no respect, Drew Blood is making his decision harder. Does Cena stay on Rampage and go for the upset and take on Drew Blood or does he settle some old scores over on Primetime and take on Shane Thompson? Time will tell.
> Speaking of Drew Blood, he and the Deadpool are quickly becoming one of the most dangerous cliques we've seen in these parts in a long time. Blood by himself is enough to deal with, now it's like everytime somebody signs on to wrestle him, it's a one on three handicapped match. Bradshaw, as good as he is, didn't have a shot at winning at the Royal Rumble. I've said it once and I'll say it again, whomever beats Drew Blood for the TWF Title will have earned it and most certainly will deserve it.
> And how about the shocker that Travis Wakeman showed up on Rampage to renew his rivalry with the Undertaker? From what I've been told, Wakeman was in secret negotiations to go to Rampage all the time he was out with his knee injury. I've heard reports that he had numerous conflicts with not only wrestlers but with management over on Primetime before he got hurt. Apparently he got sick of the backstabbing and politicking that goes on, and most importantly, the fact that he would never get a shot at the Universal title (thanks to Batista) was the final straw. Wakeman also has history with some of the superstars on Rampage, from old rivalries with the likes of the Undertaker and Drew Blood, to old flames like Trish Stratus and Jessica Lopez. Either way, it's a huge coup that Rampage has landed one of Primetime's top stars.
>Who was the cameraman that helped Joe "The Show" Corey retain his King of Cable Title against Nemesis? That seems to be the question on everyones' mind. With his help, Corey managed to screw Nemesis over so bad, I think he struck oil. I've heard rumors, but nothing concrete. All I know, is that it better not be Road Warrior Animal, because that would be a huge letdown.
>Taylor Made is really starting to irritate me. He could be one of the top stars in the business today, if he wasn't so busy trying to get laid all the time. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with getting laid as much as possible, but you have to know when to give it a rest for a little bit and when to get serious about your career. I just hope, for his sake, that he really is a "one woman man" now. Cheating on Stephanie McMahon has got to be one of the dumbest things he could do, if he does it. Hell hath no fury, like a woman scorned, especially one who can make or break your career.
>Matt Cruz is easily the hottest rookie prospect in the TWF right now. He's yet to taste defeat in singles competition, although a rookie mistake cost him and Eddie Guerrero a tag team match against Oliver Worth and Steven Richards. Some, like Jerry Lawler, think he's got a big ego and is too confident. I agree and disagree. I think you have to be a bit of an egomaniac to get into professional wrestling. If you don't think you're the sh*t, how do you expect anyone else to? At the same time, he shouldn't get too far ahead of himself, with the likes of Kurt Angle and Karam Ibrahim waiting in the wings. Do I see a budding rivalry growing between Ibrahim and Cruz? I think so. But I also think Cruz and Guerrero would make a great tag team. Cruz prefers to go it alone, but he could learn a lot from Eddie's expierence and guidance.
PRIMETIME
> Big Ups go to Shane Thompson for winning his first Universal Title. He had went into the Dragon's Lair match with a bum shoulder and still pulled off the win. Everyone in the football world made a big deal about Terrell Owens playing in the Super Bowl with a bad ankle, but I think Thompsons' performance was more gutsy. No one thought he had a chance, even without a contused shoulder, but he fought hard against two of the very best on PrimeTime in Charlie Haas and Dylan Jansens, and he got the victory. Now comes the hard part, defending against all the challengers who want a shot. Winning the title was the easy part, now he's got to keep it.
>I've been asked constantly about my opinion on lightheavyweight newcomer, Sychotic. I think the jury is still out on him. I've seen the tapes of him in his backyard wrestling days back in Australia. His moves defy logic, he can do things that I've never seen done before. With his size, however, it's hard to say how long he'll last in the smash mouth style of wrestling in the TWF. At 5'8 and 190+ pounds, he really might be prone to injuries. We'll just have to wait and see, because the same thing was said about Rey Mysterio once upon a time.
>Rome is PrimeTime's answer to Matt Cruz. While Rome won't win any style points during his matches, he just flat out destroys people. He is freakishly strong. I thought with his height issues, that might hinder him a bit, but that's been so far a non-issue. On the next Primetime, he squares off with Randy Orton in his toughest challenge to date. If Rome whups Orton's ass, he will already become a major player on PrimeTime, which is amazing considering how long he's been in the TWF. Next year's Rookie of the Year voting is going to be a tight race between Rome and Cruz, I'm predicting. It'll be the TWF's version of last year's NBA rookie race between Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony.
>I know I'm not supposed to have a beef with any of the stars on either show, but I'm not afraid to say I hate Muhammad Hassan. Hassan and his ilk don't know how lucky they have it to be in the United States. If they were in any other country, they could be killed for speaking out against their government. I don't doubt that Hassan has probably been persecuted by some ignorant people, thinking that just because he has Middle Eastern Roots, he's a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer. There've always been ignorant people, in the past, present and sadly, future. African-Americans were enslaved in the past, and didn't get equal rights till the 1960's. Hispanics even today are ridiculed for being lazy, ignorant, or drug dealers. The difference is that, instead of grabbing a microphone and bitching about it, they worked very hard for the advancements that have been made. They did it through peace, love, and understanding. Not force and intimidation. Hassan doesn't realize he's adding to the stereotype by acting like a barbaric Anti-American.
>Et tu, Rick Clark? The former Marine turned his back on his country and has alinged himself with the aforementioned scum Muhammad Hassan. I just hope Chris Tirpak beats the traitor out of this modern day Benedict Arnold.
RUMORS AND RANTINGS
> Some of my informants tell me that the atmosphere in the locker rooms of Rampage and PrimeTime are totally different. Rampage seems to have the more harmonious locker room. Everybody gets a long, and generally is very happy. Primetime, however, is said to have a very paranoid locker room. A lot of backstabbing and ass kissing to be seen. Take that as a rumor, though. Those same informants also tell me they got that bit of information from someone who just might be disgrunteld about not getting his fair share of mic time.
>I've also been told that a very sexy new diva may be on her way to the TWF, possibly as a valet or backstage correspondant. Maria Kanellis has been seen at the corporate office, so who knows if she's signed a deal yet.
> From the "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" department, it seems that WWE Smackdown Magazine writer Brian Soloman has decided to shamelessly "borrow" the name of my column for his own. I don't know how long it's been going on, but it's pretty cheesy if you've ever read it. He has decent enough writing skills, but the personality of a dial tone. I don't think I'm going to be seeing any royalty checks anytime soon, but Brian, you're welcome!
> Anyone else get a pair of the new Air Jordan Carmelo Anthony 1.5s? I did and they are tight!
>How about those Eagles? They really had a shot against the Patriots. Although, mad props for keeping it close. I just think it's funny that Freddie Mitchell talked all that junk before the game, and the Patriots' Rodney Harrison caught more passes from Donovan McNabb than Mitchell did.
>Bollocks!!! (just trying out some British slang. Could it be my new catchphrase? Nah.)
Well, that's all from me this time around. See you guys next time when Rampage comes at you with their PPV Code Red. This has been Gabe Morales, and I'll see you at ringside. Lechuga, Lechuga!!!
