It's time once again for everyone's favorite column..... mine! So kids put your parents to bed cause the following content is not suitable for adults!
This time around folks I will be handing out the second annual copper awards for 2006, so let's begin shall we?
1. Tag Team of the year
A. The Blood Brothers (Sean O'haire/Dustin Kash)
b. The Highlanders (Rory/Robbie)
c. The Brood (Gangrel/Swinger)
d. Doug/Danny Basham
e. Bahamut/Strife
f. Orient Express
And the Copper award goes to: The Blood Brothers for the simple fact that O'haire has proven to be a great influence on the rookie Kash and together they have beaten some great teams on their way to the TWF Tag Team titles.
2. Rookie of the Year
A. Dustin Kash
b. The Saint
And the Copper award goes to: Both men because while Kash has been a dominant tag team wrestler, The Saint has had a dominant singles career which was capped off with him becoming the King of the Ring for PrimeTime.
3. Diva of the Year:
A. Ashley K.
B. Mickie James
C. Trinity
D. Ariel
E. Traci Brooks
F. Monica
And the Copper award goes to: Ariel due to the fact that while Ashley won the Women's champion and Mickie is the most loved and Trinity the most athletic, Ariel is the one that everyone is talking about and that to me is making an impact.
4. Fued of the year:
A. Axl/Flair
B. Rockwell/Axl
C. Wakeman/Henry
D. Corey/Van Dam
And the Copper award goes to: Jordan Tockwell and Axl Irvin simply because these guys have done a lot to each other that most would not do and this fued in my mind elevated Irvin to new heights.
5. Comeback of the Year:
a. Vlad/Wolf
b. Axl Irvin
c. Mark Henry
d. Jason Oliver
And the Copper award goes to: Jason Oliver and Axl Irvin. This one is a tie because firstly Jason Oliver went from being a flunkie to a two time King of Cable champion and top five ranked competitor on Rampage and Axl Irvin has had one hell of a 2006 from his fued with the legendary Ric Flair to his powerhouse one with Jordan Rockwell. He has not climbed but more like jumped to the top of the PrimeTime hill with his Universal title reign which says something since most guys that have been around longer have not tasted the gold yet in one way or another.
6. Most Popular Wrestler of the Year:
A. Jordan Rockwell
B. Travis Wakeman
C. Batista
D. John Cena
And the Copper award goes to: Jordan Rockwell wins this one because Wakeman had a rocky year but was still supported by the fans, much the same with Rampage's animal who not only was on the losing end of a Universal title match to Randy Orton but never got the chance to get a rematch. As far as Cena goes, he has an odd relationship at times with the TWF fans. Which leaves Rockwell who's fan base seems to grow each and every day regardless of whether he wins or loses a match.
7. Most Hated Wrestler of the Year:
A. Money Mike
B. Joe Corey
C. Randy Orton
D. Edge
E. Muhammed Hassan
F. Axl Irvin
And the Copper award goes to: Money Mike simply because I do not know anyone that is hated as much as he is even on shows he is not on. I mean if being a A-hole was an Olympic event, Mike would win not only the gold, but silver and bronze. Better yet, if being a pompus jackass was money, than Mike would be the richest man in the freakin universe is what several TWF stars have told me.
8. Wrestler of the Year:
A. Travis Wakeman
B. Jordan Rockwell
C. Money Mike
D. Joe Corey
E. Randy Orton
F. Batista
G. John Cena
And the Copper award goes to: Travis Wakeman, the Technical Magician had one hell of a 2006 from his battles with High Octane and Mark Henry, to winning the TWF World title for a fifth time, not to mention fending off challenge after challenge, he deserved this.
IN THE END
In the end, I want to take the time to thank each and everyone in the TWF past and present for making the TWF what it is and what it will be and to all those that walk in the door what a freaking challenge you have a head of you.
Until next time folks, this is your boy JD saying this has been my two cents, and it's been everything you thought it would be..... and then some!!!!!!!
