X Marks His Spot
This is the debut edition of X marks his spot, and I am your host with way more than most Hayden, but you might know me better as Sebastian X. I am here to mark my spot in the TWF columns. You may be wondering, Why another column? Well I'll tell you why, because this is not your average column. This column is going to be used to shed light on the developementals of the TWF. On one side we have The SMW and on the other we have The Asylum. Anyways lets get down to business. Today on the debut edition of "X marks his Spot", we have a very special guest, he is the new general manager Asylum, Wally Willson, he will be stopping by for an interview later in the column.
The Review
So what do you say we get started? First subject on my agenda is Asylum's latest ppv Spring Breakout, from Panama Beach, Florida. This ppv held 4 title matches and two of those matches crowned new champions. One title change being the hardcore title which was defended by Richard Ramsley and won by Gatekeeper. Ramsley lost not only the match but his hardcore title thanks to Shane Bentley's chair shot and the 1000 chorus chokeslam by Gatekeeper, of course. The second title change was the Asylum Heavyweight Championship which was won by The Great khali in the elimination chamber match.
Enough about Spring Breakout, let's move on to the most recent Asylum show, which was the first show under Wally Willson's control. With all the changes that took place, you can only wonder what will happen on the next show.
Asylum featured a death match between Cult members Toxic Troy and Richard Ramsley which ended after the 10 minute time limit ran down. Wally Willson couldn't have been happier with the match turnout as he jumped out of his seat at the conclusion.
Also on Asylum, James Diamond recieved a note and a duffel bag from Wally Willson. No idea what the note said, but it would later be James Diamond vs. Shane Bentley for the United States championship in which Diamond came out victorious and is the new U.S. champion. Jeremy Dart Was in a match also facing the monster Abyss in which Dart won by a DQ after Abyss hit dart with a steel chair numerous times, he recieved punishment for questioning Wally Willson. And in the main event of the night it was determined that Hells Angel would be the new number one contender for The Great Khali's championship.
Hopefully we will learn more about Asylum's new direction in my interview with Wally later in the column.
The next Asylum pay per view has been announced to be Adrenaline.
On the SMW side of things, we recently had Aggression, where commissioner Stern announced that since Jeremy Dart has been moved to Asylum, that Low-Ki will take his place in the ladder match at Lethal Lottery, and the remaining 3 memebers of that match will be determined next Aggression. Also on SMW a table match was featured containing two of the six participants in the ladder match at lethal lottery, The Bone Collecter and Hassad. The match was won by The Bone Collecter after an amazing enziguri from the middle rope to Hassad who was positioned on the top rope. The kick sent Hassad outside the ring crashing right through the table, giving The Bone Collecter a victory.
Now moving on to the main event of the latest SMW Aggression. It saw Sebastian X teaming up with Steve Bradley to face former PrimeTime star Aries and Ashida Kim in a tag team match which was won by Sebastian X who delivered not 1 but 2 world famous burning hammers to Ashida Kim. Man, I feel sorry for Ashida Kim. If that wasn't enough, Sebastian delivered a third burning hammer of the night to his Lethal Lottery tag team partner, Steve Bradley.
Also on the latest SMW, there were several debuts, one being Cody Rhodes who was victorious, defeating former TWF superstar Orlando Jordan. That's a pretty decent start if I say so myself. Chris Rombola also made a debut attacking SMW champ Joe Diano and joining up with the Diamond Express. On the next Aggression, Vladimir Kozlov is set to debut.
Also on the Asylum side of things, I believe there is a few new comers waiting to make their debuts. They are "The Demon" William Buckalew, Blade and Dylan Lee and last but not least, the newest member "The Icon" Douglas Araujo. So it looks like Asylum will be bringing in a lot of new talent in the coming shows.
My interview With Asylum General Manager Wally Willson is up next, but before we get to that, I want to get to this. My Monthly top 10 picks.
X's Monthly Top 10
#1 Asylum Heavyweight Champion- The Great Khali, ranks #1 on my chart this month because he emerged out of the elimination chamber as the champ defeating his opponents
#2 James Diamond- Diamond is in the #2 position because he defeated Shane Bentley to become the new U.S. champion.
#3 Joe Diano- Diano is at # 3 instead of #2 because he did not have a match this week but he is still at this spot because he is holding the SMW title.
#4 Chris Kaos- This is Kaos's spot because he had a victory at Spring Breakout aand didn't have to do anything to get it. He let the other match participants wear each other down then he picked up the scraps.
#5 Sebastian X- X is in my number 5 spot because he dominated the latest edition of SMW, Delivered 3 burning hammers picking up the win for his team and looking out for himself and only himself.
#6 CJ Lethal- Even though he had a short lived title reign at least he has held the title so that's why he is #6.
#7 Cody Rhodes- Rhodes impressed me this month with a victory over Orlando Jordan by making him submit in his debut match.
#8 Gatekeeper- He is placed here because he was able to defeat Ramsley for the hardcore title at Spring Breakout.
#9 Chris Rombola- Even though he hasn't officially had his debut match, he made a huge impact by taking out Joe Diano, the heavyweight champ, so that is why Rombola lands into the number 9 spot.
#10 Toxic Troy- Troy captured this spot because not only did he put up a good fight a Spring Breakout, but he was able to fight his way through a death match.
To all the developement guys who didn't make it onto my list, I say better luck next month.
Now with all that done, I think we can now move on to the conclusion of my column which is the interview with the new Asylum GM, Wally Willson.
Interview's with X
X: As promised, my guest at this time the new Asylum GM, Wally Willson. Welcome Wally.
Wally Willson: Thank you, I am really glad to be here.
X: Well let me tell you we are really glad to have you but lets save the small talk for later and get down to the questions shall we? So my first question for you is going to be as gm of Asylum, what do you plan on accomplishing?
WW: Well... It is my goal to get every superstar called up to the TWF....Rampage....Badlandz.....Primetime, I don't care. I want to show off some of the talent in ASYLUM, and pick up some stellar talent.
X: Well you mentioned talent and I know you know talent Wally so let me ask you this, who do you think has the best ability on the Aylum roster?
WW: Oh wow... are we talking raw talent? Or the type of talent that makes someone great? I think everyone on Asylum has raw talent. But There are three guys that have true pure talent. And that would be Hells Angel...Shane Bentley...and James Diamond. All three have what it takes to get to the next level. All three are real Champions and all three have that special something.
X: Okay, moving on, after the latest edition of Asylum, is it possible that there can be any more changes and if yes, can you let us in on any of them?
WW: Oh man there can be tons of changes. I am going to do what it takes to get Asylum in tip top shape. There is no room for weakness on the Asylum roster. I am going to have total control over the Asylum.
X: Well we saw that and we saw that you aren't going to put up with slacking. My next question for you is how do you think that the Asylum did under former control?
WW: I don't want to get into name calling here so I am going to go easy with this answer. Asylum is the number one devlopmental... it's number one for a reason. The only thing I can say bad about Asylum is they didn't use some really good talent they had at their finger tips.
