February 24, 2005
Unlike the debut of Main Event, officials decided to air Uprising before going live on NBC with 3 matches to represent each division of the TWF. Fans in the Missouri area were at an all time high with their second in-state event in a just a few days with Code Red still to come, emanating from St. Louis.
Matt Cruz vs. Johnny Blaze w/ Teddy Long Blaze got on top of Cruz quickly, attacking him right when he got into the ring. He got a near fall using a cross body off the top rope but when he went for a jumping spin kick, Cruz grabbed him in mid air and dumped him on the back of his head. He whipped Blaze to the ropes and went for a clothesline but missed. Blaze then missed with a superkick and Cruz used a rolling schoolboy to get the 1......2.....3. The Hardy Boyz vs. La Parka and Psychosis Two of the more entertaining tag teams on SlaughterHouse went at it here and the Mexican team was superior for much of the match. But after hitting the Reverse Fate, Jeff Hardy went to the top rope and came off with the Swanton Bomb on La Parka while Matt Hardy held off Psychosis as the referee made the 3 count. Sychotic vs. Akio The times these two have been inside a TWF ring together have provided for some of the best action in years. Tonight was no different. Akio was able to solve Sychotic's blitzing attack by smashing him with a spinning front kick to the face. He then went to the top rope, looking most likely for the "Akiosault". But Sychotic was able to sweep his feet out from under him and climb up to the middle turnbuckle. He then picked him up for a powerbomb but fell backwards, turning it into a facebuster on the way down! Holy shit chants filled the Kemper Arena as Sychotic hooked the leg and got the 3 count. MAIN EVENT GOES LIVE "ALWAYS" BY SALIVA PLAYS AND THE OPENING MONTAGE FOR MAIN EVENT HITS, FEATURING HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE DEBUT EPISODE BACK IN DECEMBER. "ALWAYS" IS STILL LOUDLY PLAYING AS THE KEMPER ARENA COMES INTO THE SHOT AND THE CAMERA PANS THE LOUD LIVE CROWD. Josh Matthews: "Welcome to TWF Main Event live here on NBC and this crowd is stoked Honky"! Honky Tonk Man: "Just promise me you won't be as annoying as that Grisham guy they stuck me with last time". Matthews: "Oh, cause you're the greatest announcer of all time I bet"? HTM: "I like you already kid". Matthews: "Fans it is the last stop before Code Red and we have seven huge matches that are gonna showcase all three divisions of the TWF, so let's go to the ring"! IN THE RING, TEDDY LONG STANDS WITH MATT MORGAN. Teddy Long: "It's TWF Main Event and that means that the locker room has got to be stockpiled with superstars! So continuing with what we've been doing for a couple weeks now, we are challenging anyone to come out here and accept our open challenge! Now can I get a holla, holla, holla"? Matthews: "No you can't". HTM: "Let's see which superstar is gonna show they have no brains tonight". JUST THEN, MUSIC HITS AND SLAUGHTERHOUSE SUPERSTAR FRANKIE KAZARIAN COMES OUT TO TAKE THE CHALLENGE. Matthews: "Well I don't consider Frankie Kazarian to be an ignorant person Honky! This is a guy we've seen compete for years here in the TWF and I would say he has a very legitimate shot to do this tonight"! Rampage vs. SlaughterHouse Matt Morgan w/ Teddy Long vs. Frankie Kazarian Morgan had more trouble with Kazarian than he has in any of his other open challenges but in the end, Kazarian couldn't move the mountain. Kazarian staggered him with a kick to the chest and a spin kick to the head, but it didn't take him off his feet. As Morgan swayed back, Kazarian hit the ropes but Morgan came back with a boot right in the mouth. He then pulled him up by his pony tailed hair and lifted him up, holding him up for several seconds before slamming him to the mat with his powerbomb that he is now calling the "Avalanche" and it was all over. Match Time: 9:19 HTM: "So much for the legitimate shot Joey"! Matthews: "Well the name is Josh and fans take a good look at that move. It is called the Avalanche and I don't know if there is a superstar in the TWF that can withstand it"!BACKSTAGE AREA........ John Cena and Shelton Benjamin vs. Austin Pyromania and Christian Benjamiin and Christian wrestled much of this match and Pyromania seemed to want no part of Cena, in fact never tagging in. After catching Benjamin with a reverse DDT onto his knee, Christian had the oppurtunity to make the tag but Pyro wouldn't accept it. Christian stood up in the corner and turned around, only to be smashed with the Stinger Splash by Benjamin. He made the tag to Cena who came in and lifted Christian up onto his shoulders and gave Pyromania a long stare before delivering the "F-U" for the 3 count on Christian. Batista and Mike Austin w/ Ric Flair vs. A.J. Styles and Paul London Styles and London were able to achieve mild success using their incredible quickness. But with all 4 men in the ring, Austin backdropped a charging London to the floor and Batista put Styles down with the "Batista Bomb" for the victory. But after the match, their celebration was cut by the sound of the theme music belonging to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin! The fans went crazy, Mike Austin grinned and Batista was furious as Ric Flair didn't seem to know what to think. COMMERCIAL BREAK...... RETURN FROM BREAK..... BACKSTAGE...... Shawn Michaels vs. Viscera Michaels juked and jived around the mammouth Viscera but he couldn't get him off his feet. Vis then hit a rolling wheel kick that was very impressive for a man his size. But he missed his big splash and Michaels got up, ready to put him right back down with the "Sweet Chin Music". But just then, the symbol of Drew Blood lowered from above and came to rest just outside the ring. Referee Jose Mendez seemed awestruck by the sight and while he was distracted by it, a man in a black cloak came through the crowd and grabbed the glass jug of water from the broadcast position. He then smacked Michaels in the face with it, shattering it and sending Michaels down holding his face. After Viscera got the 3 count and the huge upset, the man removed his hood to show himself as Drew Blood. PrimeTime vs. SlaughterHouse Strife and Bahamut vs. Imminent Danger The SlaughterHouse tandem gave the TWF tag team champs fits in this one. But when Brian Webster threw a superkick at Bahamut, he caught his foot and swung him right into his tag team partner, Scott Wilson. Strife then tagged in and delivered the "Wrong Destination" on Wilson for the win. But after the match was over, Jamal and Rosey, the Rampage tag team champs, hit the ring and handed out a severe beating to Bah and Strife. After Rosey put Strife down with a throw up samoan drop, Jamal came off the top rope with the Air Samoan splash on Bahamut before they left. Match Time: 7:52 COMMERCIAL BREAK....... As Wolf and Corey went at it, Chris Masters came down the aisle. Taylor immediately noticed him and jumped from his corner, taking him on. In the ring, Chaos Wolf ducked a clothesline from Corey and hit an axe kick. But Oliver smashed him in the back of the head with Corey's King of Cable title, something referee Chad Patton didn't see cause he was with Taylor and Masters and Corey got up, drilling Wolf with a Harley Race knee to get the 3 count. They went move for move for about 5 minutes when Jordan Rockwell came out, looking to cost O'Haire the title. But O'Haire had a plan himself. From underneath the ring Heidenreich came and smashed Ultimo with a clubbing forearm that just made him crumble to the mat. Heidenreich got out an d O'Haire locked in a fujiwara armbar.
