SMW Agression II

August 23, 2002

Nashville, Tennessee

The second edition of SMW Aggression begins with immediate action as a crowd of 1,910 fans look on.

SMW Title Match

Christopher Daniels vs. Lenny Lane

Dan Wilson: "This is not your typical curtain jerker. This show will contain high impact action from minute one until the end of the show. We begin with The Fallen Angel and Lenny Lane already in the ring."

Daniels and Lane set the tone for an incredible night of SMW action. The quick pace was clearly an advantage for Daniels but Lane absorbed as much punishment as possible including a figure four leglock early in the match which was reversed by Lane. Eventually, the match spilled to the outside where Lane surprisingly gained the advantage with a steel chair. Once he was able to roll Daniels into the ring it seemed like we would have a new champion, but somehow Daniels was able to kickout. The turning point would be a poorly timed dropkick by Lane, causing him to land awkwardly on his knee. Daniels wrapped him up in an Indian deathlock for the victory.

Wilson: "Daniels has done it again, with a new killer finisher in his arsenal. What he said last week might be true. We may not have seen the best of The Fallen Angel."

Suplex Match

RC Haas vs. Shelton Benjamin

Wilson: "The rules in this next contest are simple. There is a ten minute time limit. The man with the most suplexes at the end of the match is declared the winner."

Both men are known for using a vast array of suplexes and they did not disappoint in this match. The most innovative suplex was executed by Haas to tie up the score at 10-10 with 2:28 to go. Haas used an airplane spin into a back suplex. Benjamin then recovered to hit Haas with three consecutive vertical suplexes. Haas would tie it up again at 13. Benjamin hit the decisive suplex with 12 seconds remaining. He hit Haas with a northern lights suplex and held the bridge until the time limit expired.

Wilson: "Both men gave it their all. If these men were given 10,000 minutes to wrestle it would still be this close at the end. Nevertheless, Shelton Benjamin has earned that great feeling."

Shelton Benjamin(in the ring): "Tonight, I proved why it is me the TWF wants. And what the TWF wants, the TWF gets. Lets face it, I am too good for this company. It is finally time for Shelton Benjamin to become a superstar."

At that point, the SMW champion Christopher Daniels appeared on the stage.

Daniels: "You think you're too good for this company? I think even these lousy fans want you to leave. (Fans begin to cheer) SHUT UP!!!(Fans are now booing) How about this, tonight, me and you in that ring. The Fallen Angel has a point to prove. I belong in the TWF and I'm going to open some eyes when I destroy you!"

Benjamin: "Sounds good to me. But do me a favor, shine that belt up because I want it too look nice when I deliver it to the TWF."

Six Man Tag Team Match

The Patriot, Maven & Michael Modest vs. Ron Waterman, Spencer Hollywood & Keiji Sakoda

This match should have been contested under Texas Tornado rules because all six men were in the ring at the same time immediately. The team of The Patriot, Maven and Michael Modest were the victors in this contest after the Patriot hit Hollywood with the "Patriot Missile". The real fireworks of this encounter took place after the match when Keiji Sakoda attacked The Patriot from behind and repeatedly hit The Patriot with the American flag. When SMW officials came in to stop the assault, Sakoda left with the flag.

Backstage

Al Snow is shown backstage discussing business with Paul Diamond when Monty Brown approaches.

Brown: "Al Snow, mighty strong words last month. You want to stick it to the TWF? Well, you're looking at the man that can back up those words. Yet, you can't find a spot for me on your show! What's the deal?"

Snow: "I'm sorry. Hey, I've given the fans all I can. Hell, tonight they are getting two SMW title matches. The truth is, you are not ready yet. You haven't proven yourself. But believe me, your time will come."

Brown: "Snow, you're trying to hold me down. (Getting in his face) I won't stand for it! Tonight, I don't have a match but I will be causing problems in that ring. If you know what's good for you, you will give me a match next time."

Bull Buchanan vs. Bobby Eaton

Wilson: "Folks, a lot on the line for Bull Buchanan in this one. If he loses, his tenure in SMW will come to an end."

From ring rust to a ring renewal! Bull Buchanan was a completely different wrestler tonight. Even the veteran Bobby Eaton could not combat Buchanan's high impact moves. Buchanan secured his spot in SMW by defeating Eaton after a top rope clothesline.

Simon Diamond & Johnny Swinger vs. Mark Jindrak & Mike Sanders

The bad blood from Aggression I spilled over into this match. In fact, the blood of these tremendous athletes was spilled as well. At first it was Diamond and Swinger dominating Jindrak with several quick tags and double team moves. Once Sanders was able to tag in, he used clotheslines to send Diamond and Swinger over the top rope. Just like last month, the ring would not contain these four combatants. Once chairs and the ring bell were used, the referee had no choice but to stop the fight and rule this contest a double disqualification.

Lance Cade vs. Rip Rogers

Wilson: "The suprise of last month was Rip Rogers' victory in the battle royal. Perhaps even more suprising is that he has been offered an SMW contract."

Lance Cade, humiliated after losing to a jobber, wanted revenge. He used incredible tactics to keep Rogers on the mat. Lance's dropkick sent Rogers to the mat three times in this match. The most impressive move was the top rope powerbomb which should have been the end of the match. While the referee checked on Rip Rogers, Monty Brown entered the ring and speared Lance Cade. Cade had the wind knocked out of him and Rip Rogers crawled on top of him to get the 1...2...3.

Wilson: "The Alpha Male didn't waste much time in proving that when he says something, he WILL back it up."

Tag Team Title Match

Dave Taylor/Fit Finley vs. Rob Conway/Nick Dinsmore

Conway and Finley began this match. Finley made Conway suffer with several elbows to the back of the head and hard chops. Conway tried to regain control with punches but they had no impact on Finley. Taylor tagged in and began to work on Conway with an old fashion stump puller. Finley re-entered the ring after a tag and attempted a legdrop. The legdrop did not find the mark. Dinsmore tagged in and took on both men for the first time in the match. His next move would prove to be costly. He attempted a high flying move on Taylor, but Finley pushed him off the top rope. Taylor locked in an STF and Dinsmore had no choice but to submit.

Wilson: "We have new champions! The "training session" for Dinsmore and Conway did not go the way they would have wanted it to, but neither man is a quitter. They will be back."

Loki vs. Shannon Moore

Did Shannon Moore recover from an injured knee? It did not matter because Loki immediately went to work on the bad knee. Several stiff kicks to the knee were followed by Loki clipping the right knee. Moore would not give up. He battled back and even hit Loki with a dropkick. Moore proved that he was still capable of high flying moves despite an injured knee. A crossbody block sent Loki to the floor. Moore followed it up with a picture perfect Asai moonsault. He rolled Loki in the ring and covered him for a near fall. Next Moore missed with a clothesline. Loki countered with an explosive superkick. 1...2..., Moore kicked out! Loki then attempted a spin kick. Moore caught him and then hiptossed him into the corner turnbuckles. Moore covered Loki to get the 1...2...3.

Wilson: "Someone call the cops! Sensational Shannon Moore and Loki just stole the show!"

Main Event

SMW Title Match

Shelton Benjamin vs. Christopher Daniels

Both wrestlers showed no signs of having wrestled earlier in the show. Benjamin was a man on a mission early on. He attempted six consecutive pins in the third minute of the match but came up empty. He questioned the ref on his count which gave The Fallen Angel time to recover. He suprised Benjamin with an incredible powerslam followed by a swinging neckbreaker. Daniels attempted a figure four leglock but Benjamin quickly rolled him up into an unsuccessful small package. Both men quickly got up and had the same idea, a clothesline. Both men ended up on the mat. It was unclear who was hurt more until Daniels began to set up Benjamin for a possible leg lock. It ended up being a sharpshooter. Benjamin scratched and clawed to get to the ropes. After an amazing effort Benjamin passed out and the referee stopped the match.

Wilson: "The Fallen Angel has defeated the next TWF superstar. My hat is off to Shelton Benjamin. There is no doubt in my mind that Benjamin can be a future World champion. Another impressive night of action, good night everybody!"
