SMW Agression: Aftermath

January 4, 2002

The show begins in SMW Commissioner Al Snow's office. Snow is on the phone with Vince McMahon (on speaker phone).

Al Snow: "Well I appreciate that you enjoyed Holiday Hell. These kids down here work real hard for a shot at stardom."

Vince McMahon: "I don't doubt it. In fact, I know that the SMW roster will be even better with the addition of Breakdown. Did you get his file?"

Snow: "Sure did and Vince I gotta tell you, I'm a little worried about his troubled past. Hell the guy killed his father. But just give me time to prepare the boys on what we're getting into. When is he beginning here?"

McMahon: "Well actually, tonight."

Snow:(grabbing the phone/taking McMahon off of speakerphone): "Tonight!? Vince, we've gotten along ok in the past few months, but I will not allow that. As far as I'm concerned, Breakdown is not welcome here. End of discussion!" Snow hangs up the phone.

Dan Wilson: "Coming off of Holiday Hell and with tensions as high as they are, welcome to SMW in 2003. The competitors for our first match are in the ring. Lets go to the ring."

Rip Rogers vs. Lenny Lane

Lane quickly went after Rip Rogers. He nailed him with a dropkick and then hip tossed Rogers. Rogers was irate. He went to kick the bottom rope in disgust but he completely missed and ended up falling to the mat and landing on the back of his head. Lane quickly covered him and got the win.

Dan Wilson: "The tide has turned once again in the career of Rip Rogers. If he continues at this rate, he's going to end up "The Man of 1000 Losses" soon enough.

Backstage...Commissioner's Office

Patriot: "You wanted to see me boss?"

Snow: "Yes, Patriot. I wanted to congratulate you on winning the Bedlam Brawl. I'm sorry I don't have much time to talk, big things are going down tonight and I've got a match against Crazy Shane. However, I've decided that I'm giving you the month off. Train, get prepared for the Royal Rumble and if necessary, get prepared for Wrestlemania. Make us all proud."

Patriot: "Thank you, Al. And believe me, if I win the TWF championship at Wrestlemania, my first title defense will be in an SMW ring."

Monty Brown & Bull Buchanan vs. Mike Sanders & Mark Jindrak

Once again, SMW's two biggest men were tagging up. Clearly, they still were not getting along and could not decide who would start the match. While they argued, Jindrak came from behind and rolled up Buchanan for a pin. Brown broke the attempt up at two. Jindrak slammed Buchanan to the mat and dropped down with an elbow. He applied a code red arm bar but Buchanan was able to reach the ropes. Jindrak locked in a head scissors and reached out to tag Above Average Mike Sanders. Sanders climbed the ropes and came crashing down with his knees to the gut of the Bull. He went for a pin but Buchanan powered out. Buchanan absorbed all of the punishment that Sanders and Jindrak dished out. He desperately needed a tag to The Alpha Male. Jindrak tagged in and went for a pump handle slam. Buchanan reversed it and powered Jindrak over for a meltdown. Sanders tagged in but could not prevent Brown from tagging in. Monty Brown took on both opponents, dishing out body slams and shoulderblocks and even suplexes that would make RC Haas proud. Sensing danger, Mike Sanders went to the outside for a chair. Monty Brown snatched it from him and instead of using it, he threw it to the outside and used a series of clubbing forearms and clotheslines. The Alpha Male powered him up for the Alpha Bomb and got the victory.

Dan Wilson: "Some of you might think that throwing the chair away was a mistake by Monty Brown. But what that man can do with his hands is even more devastating than a weapon. Lets go backstage once again."

Backstage... Commissioner's Office

Al Snow: "I understand that you are upset. Hey man, it is upsetting to me. Things just aren't going good right now."

Rip Rogers: "Tell me about it. Look Al, I know I can do better. I really need the job. I can't be fired now."

Snow: "Rip, Rip, Rip. I'm not firing you. You're still an asset to this company. But sometimes even the most seasoned veterans need a wrestling tutor and I've gotten one for you."

Rip Rogers: "Oh, so that's why Dean Malenko is here. Maybe after a while I can teach him the camel clutch. This is going to be great."

Snow: "Well, your wrestling advisor knows the camel clutch. He just walked in, take a look."

Rogers(as he turned): "Dean I can't wait to..."

The camera man shows a stunned look on Rogers's face and then turns to reveal that Rip Rogers's wrestling advisor is... Lance Cade!

Essa Rios vs. RC Haas

This match was a clash of styles but it turned into a great match. Rios and Haas locked up in the middle of the ring. Haas got the early advantage by using his power. Rios could not match Haas' strength so he used his speed and dropkicked Haas from behind, sending him into the ropes. As he staggered backwards Rios used a perfect Asai moonsault for a two count. He then locked in an armbar but the Latin Sensation could not keep RC Haas grounded. Haas slammed Rios. He picked him up again and nailed Rios with a spinebuster. After a vicious clothesline, Haas went upstairs and missed a splash when Rios moved out of the way. Rios sent Haas to the floor with a satellite headscissors takedown. Rios quickly scaled the ropes as Haas made it back to his feet. Rios leaped at Haas but was caught. RC Haas t-bone suplexed Rios, sending him to the mat hard on his neck. He covered him and scored what can be viewed as an upset.

Dan Wilson: "RC Haas just beat the former tag team champion. I believe Haas has been underachieving but perhaps that is over. Haas is back on track and looking better than ever."

Backstage... Commissioner's Office

Al Snow is talking to Bull Buchanan and Monty Brown.

Monty Brown: "We understand. I don't want him here either."

Bull Buchanan: "We will do whatever it takes to keep him out of here."

Snow: "Then it's settled. You guys will make sure that the minute Breakdown enters the arena, he is sent immediately out of the arena...on a stretcher."

Buchanan and Brown leave. Guido Maritato enters the office.

Maritato: "Al, I have a problem. At Holiday Hell, the winner of Bedlam Brawl would get a shot at the Royal Rumble. Everyone was supposed to be involved in the match. But I wasn't! So what I want you to do is call Patriot back and send me to the Royal Rumble."

Snow: "I can't do that. You were invited to participate but decided to get involved in other activities. However, I do feel that you should be compensated for Shannon Moore attacking you on the way to the ring. I am adding you to the SMW title match tonight, making it a four way match, Loki, Christopher Daniels, Shannon Moore and the Sicilian Shooter."

Maritato: "Fair enough."

Six Man Tag Team Match

Paul Diamond, Michael Modest& Rob Conway vs. Spencer Hollywood, Fit Finely & Dave Taylor

The six man tag team match is becoming a staple to SMW Aggression. As always, there was nonstop action in this one. Diamond was the first to be laid out after Spencer Hollywood nailed him with a sleeperslam. Modest then fought back by powerbombing Taylor down. He then turned around and was kicked by Hollywood. Hollywood used another sleeperslam. Conway and Taylor punched at each other. However, when Conway realized he was the only member of his team standing, he rolled out and walked back to the lockerroom. Modest and Diamond noticed that Conway was leaving. Now that they were out numbered, Finley, Taylor and Hollywood got the victory after a tombstone piledriver by Finley on Paul Diamond.

Backstage... Commissioner's Office

Crazy Shane barges in the office.

Shane: "Al Snow, tonight is the night. I finally get to kick your ass. What do you have to say about that?

The chair does not turn around.

Shane: "Face me like a man right now. What's your problem, are you not man enough?"

Unknown voice: "The problem is that you're not man enough." The chair turns around revealing Dean Malenko.

Dean Malenko: "I don't know who you think you are but you haven't been around the block enough to make demands. I think you should pay your dues. Let me tell you a little secret. No one in the TWF wants a problem in the locker room. That's what you are. But you are a rookie. You're a rookie with a big mouth. It's time you shut up and wrestle!"

Dan Wilson: "Wow Dean Malenko should have told Crazy Shane how he really feels! I have to agree with Malenko. Shane has to pay his dues before he makes demands. The beginning of his payment begins in the main event later on."

Nick Dinsmore vs. Keiji Sakoda

This match would end up being the culmination of one of SMW's most brutal feuds. Dinsmore wore his black mask to the ring. Once the match began, Sakoda took Dinsmore down and tried to undo the mask. Dinsmore slid to the outside, but he was not safe. Sakoda dove over the top rope and came crashing onto Dinsmore. He rolled him back in and pinned him but Dinsmore managed to kickout. Sakoda grabbed onto Dinsmore's leg and legwhipped him to the mat. He held on and kicked Dinsmore's leg which knotted up the hamstring. Dinsmore limped the rest of the match but his fighting spirit would not die. Dinsmore fought back after a shoulderblock and then grabbed Sakoda and hoisted him onto the ropes for a stun gun maneuver. He went for a cover but Sakoda slipped out and elbow dropped the leg of Dinsmore. He locked in an ankle lock and then let go to legdrop Dinsmore across his leg. He pinned him but Dinsmore kicked out. Sakoda went for a powerbomb but Dinsmore slipped over his back and locked in a backslide for a nearfall. Sakoda got up quickly and clotheslined Dinsmore down. Sakoda then loaded up his foot gear with the brass object. He swung his foot and nailed Dinsmore right in the head. In an amazing turn of events, Dinsmore was able to get to his feet. Sakoda kicked him again and this time he did not go down. In fact he asked for more. Sakoda kicked him and Dinsmore stayed on his feet. He pulled off his mask to reveal a steel fitted face protector. Dinsmore grabbed Sakoda and nailed him with a headbutt. Sakoda went down like a ton of bricks. Dinsmore pinned him and got the victory.

Dan Wilson: "Nick Dinsmore gives Sakoda a taste of his own medicine! And look at that, Dinsmore's face is not disfigured at all! Coming up next, a rematch from..."

S...O...L...U...T...I...O...N...Coming Soon!

Wilson: "SOLUTION? What does it mean? Time will only tell. Stay tuned in the weeks to come to see exactly what that means."

Tag Team Title Match

Simon Diamond & Johnny Swinger vs. Vicious and Malicious

Diamond and Waterman began the match by trading slaps to the face. Then Waterman hooked Diamond up and suplexed him overhead. Diamond landed in the challenger's corner and was nailed from behind by Steele. Diamond became enraged and punched at both men. Soon all four men were going at it. The referee was able to restore order. Swinger and The Real Deal clashed with Damian Steele coming out on top. He even unveiled a new move in his arsenal, a moonsault off the middle of the second rope. The match pace remained intense. Waterman tagged in but walked into a dropkick by Swinger. Swinger went for a Swing Thing but it was in poor judgement. Waterman countered with a northern lights suplex. Diamond dove into the ring to break up the pin and save the titles. All four men went at it as the referee completely lost control. Simon Diamond taught Ron Waterman a suplex lesson of his own by using a Simon Series of a German suplex, vertical suplex, t-bone suplex and then a Simonizer. Simon mugged for the crowd and then turned around into a superkick by Damian Steele. Swinger came back in and hit Steele with a Swing Thing. Steele laid motionless on the mat. Swinger grabbed Waterman as he got to his feet. He locked in a headlock and executed a running bulldog. This was a special bulldog. As Swinger came down to the mat he legdropped Damian Steele. Swinger covered him and the champions successfully defended the tag team titles.

Dan Wilson: "That was yet another spectacular tag team title match. Up next ladies and gentlemen is our Top 10 Moments of 2002 ceremony. Let's send it to Jennie Finch."

Jennie Finch: "Ladies and Gentlemen, 2002 has been quite memorable for SMW. Narrowing down to ten great moments was very difficult. We promise that SMW will continue to bring old school wrestling in an innovative way. Now without further delay, here are the top moments of 2002."

SMW Title Match/ 4 Way Match

Christopher Daniels vs. Loki vs. Shannon Moore vs. Guido Matitato

All four men locked up in the center of the ring. Maritato and Loki pushed each other and Loki locked in a headlock. Shannon Moore kicked Loki with a superkick and then Guido suplexed him. Daniels then landed on the champion with a legdrop off the second rope. Loki rolled to the floor and watched as Guido and Daniels double teamed Sensational Shannon Moore. Loki returned to the ring and all three men kicked at Moore. They all lifted him overhead and sent him flying over the top and directly into the audience. The match became a triangle match. Daniels applied a sleeperhold on Guido and as he began to fade away, Loki put a sleeperhold onto Daniels. Guido ran towards the ropes and Loki was sent flying to the outside. Daniels and The Sicilian Shooter then locked up on the mat in the ring. SMW's two best technicians put on a display as Loki made his way back to the ring. He climbed to the top rope and landed on The Fallen Angel. Guido got up and hit a Sicilian Slice on Loki. Guido pinned him and the ref got to two but then Shannon Moore pulled Guido out of the ring and sent him into the railing. Daniels went for the pin but Loki kicked out. Moore climbed up top and landed with a halo on The Fallen Angel. Moore pinned Daniels but Loki dove onto him to save his title. He then threw Daniels over the top but he held on and "skinned the cat" back into the ring. Shannon Moore leaped at him and executed a hurracanrana over the top rope. Meanwhile, Loki and Guido went at it in the ring. Daniels hooked in a sharpshooter on the outside. On the inside Guido had Loki in a Sicilian crab. Loki was able to get to the ropes. Daniels let go of the leglock and nailed Loki with the title belt. Guido rolled him up but the referee was busy removing the belt. By the time he turned around Loki was able to kickout. Shannon Moore and Christopher Daniels continued to go at it, trading punches and kicks. As Loki and Guido went at it, Shannon Moore climbed the top rope and signaled for the blockbuster. However, he turned around to face Daniels and leaped nearly twelve feet down onto Daniels for a blockbuster. The fans cheered all four men as the match continued. Loki seemed in trouble. Guido set him up for a superplex but Guido fell and straddled the ropes facing outside of the ring. He then used a handspring supersault to gain momentum and then leaped up and hit Guido Maritato with a shining wizard. The champion pulled Guido down and pinned him to get the win.

A video package chronicles the trouble between Al Snow and Crazy Shane.

Main Event

Crazy Shane vs. Al Snow

The rookie took advantage of his first ever main event and was even able to dominate Commissioner Al Snow for the early part of the match. Shane certainly was innovative with his moves but he also showed that he has the ability to brawl, mat wrestle and fly. Overall, Crazy Shane is ready for TWF action. This match ended up on the floor with the competitors using chairs on each other. Shane then set up a chair and jumped off of it with a side kick on Snow. He rolled him back in and used the crazy crash on the veteran. Instead of going for a pinfall, Shane unwisely went up top. Snow was able to move away from the Shane-sault. Al Snow was able to hit a moonsault but the impact was so intense that Snow could not pin Shane. Both men were slow to their feet. Shane then double leg tripped Snow and put him in a sharpshooter. Snow was close to the ropes and reached for it. The referee broke the hold. Crazy Shane climbed up top and nailed a beautiful 450 splash. He pinned Snow but he kicked out at 2. Shane then went to the outside and pulled out a ladder. He set it up in the ring and then went for a table to put in the ring. He punched Snow a few times to set him up on the table. He climbed the ladder and the fans rose to their feet to see Crazy Shane go for a 450 splash...and miss, going right through the table after Snow moved out of the way. Al Snow then picked up his prone opponent and planted him with a Snow Plow for the 1, 2, 3.

Dan Wilson: "Al Snow did it! He beat Crazy Shane. This has been an incredible night of action. Wait a minute. No! Say it isn't so. Lets go to the back to Jennie Finch."

Finch: "Dan, he's here! Breakdown has just arrived. I seriously am fearful for my life."

Breakdown at 6'7", 290 lbs. walked through the door and was immediately met by Bull Buchanan and Monty Brown. Breakdown took on both men and successfully made an impact on them. Monty Brown grabbed a Singapore cane to use but as he swung it, Breakdown caught it and whacked Brown with it. Breakdown then repeatedly hit himself with the cane. Buchanan regained his feet but Breakdown choked him out. Buchanan was turning blue but then Breakdown let go.

Finch: "He is heading to the ring. Dan, I'm outta here."

A bloody Breakdown appeared in the entrance way and began to walk towards the ring. Suddenly, the entire SMW roster poured out of the lockerroom and the audience to stand in Breakdown's way. Somehow Breakdown had a microphone.

Breakdown: "All of your fears have become a reality. I'm not stepping any further. I've done enough damage for one night. Be afraid, because the next breakdown will be yours, courtesy of these devastating hands."
