Nashville, Tennessee
April 22, 2001
It was another great night of action in Nashville as our talent rose to the occassion. There were two TWF scouts in the audience tonight as well as one each from WCW 2 and MKF. We saw the debut of 2 new stars. First, a man named Ice who very little is known about, gave Jumpin' Jimmy Marx all he wanted in a spectacular match. Kid Dynamo, a japanese competitor won his debut match against Silkk and I believe Dynamo will be at the next level after this performance. The match of the night belonged to two of SMW's bad boys. Ron Waterman and Zues had a war that will be remembered as an SMW classic. Waterman fought the monster off with everything he had but Zues pounded Waterman with his big powerbomb to win it. In other action, Lord Vincent Valentin' pulled off probably his most impressive win yet by defeating Shelton Benjamin. Spencer Hollywood got a big win over Brock Lesnar and in a big test, The Prototype couldn't get by D'Lo Brown who made a special appearance. Below, are the rest of tonight's results.
Ice vs. Jumpin' Jimmy Marx
Winner: Marx
Marx won a hard fought battle with a small package.
Lord Vincent Valentin' vs. Shelton Benjamin
Winner: Valentin'
Valentin' got the pin after a devastating facebuster.
Rico Constantino vs. Hawk
Winner: Hawk
Hawk won with his inverted russian leg sweep to pull a mild upset.
Ron Waterman vs. Zues
Winner: Zues
After a long brawl, Zues powerbombed Waterman for the pin.
Bart Gunn vs. Kage
Winner: Gunn
This seemed to be a mismatch as Gunn dominated, the smaller man and put him away with his "Six Shooter" move.
The Headhunters vs. Techno Team 2000
Winners: Techno Team 2000
In a decent match, Techno Team 2000 surprised the Headhunters after Marcus Mills hit a 450 on Aztec.
Clutch vs. Chris Adams
Winner: Clutch
After a dominating performance, Clutch beat Adams with a falcon arrow suplex.
Barry Cedars vs. Marcos Tapia
Winner: Tapia
2 of the brightest stars in SMW went at it here with Tapia coming out on top after a hurracanrana into a pin.
Spencer Hollywood vs. Brock Lesnar
Winner: Hollywood
2 of the men insiders feel are closest to getting a major deal had it out here with the part time extreme motocross racer Hollywood getting another win.
Silkk vs. Kid Dynamo
Winner: Kid Dynamo
Kid Dynamo got his SMW career off to a huge start by defeating Silkk with a move similar to the "Walls of Jericho".
Aaron Vasquez vs. Randy Orton
Winner: Orton
The son of legendary Cowboy Bob Orton is starting to look like a star. He got a submission on Vasquez to remain undefeated.
The Prototype vs. D'Lo Brown of the TWF.
The Prototype looks like definite TWF potential but he had a rough time with the experienced D'Lo Brown, falling victim to the "Sky High".
In my opinion, this was one of the best nights in SMW wrestling I have witnessed. We have a great, talent filled roster and I hope some of these guys get picked up. By the way, what does Spencer Hollywood still need to prove? I'm telling you, the major organizations are missing out on a gem there. I liked the tag team match between Techno Team 2000 and The Headhunters. Either one of those teams could make a major roster as well. I was surprised by the Hawk-Constantino outcome as I still feel Constantino is the best pure wrestler on the roster. But it is a big win for Hawk nonetheless and I feel he can make something out of it. Ice and Kid Dynamo will be great additions to this roster. I love the look of Ice. Very intimidating. And even though he lost, The Prototype is a major commodity. He just ran into a good wrestler tonight. Overall, a great performance and we'll see you all here next time!
