SMW Aggression

May 24, 2004

Nashville, Tennesse

A video plays recapping SMW No Remorse. It ends with Shannon Moore holding the SMW Championship in the air. Then, the face of Austin Plavljanich is vaguely imposed on one side of him while a profile with a question mark in it is imposed on the other side, representing the new Director of Authority. The screen then cuts to the SMW arena where “Enter Sandman” hits and Joe Diano starts to make his way to the ring.

Joe Diano: "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to a new day here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Ever since the arrival of Austin Plavljanich as the new commissioner, things have not been running as smoothly as I would like here. There have been kliqs forming, people being cost matches, and some underhanded tactics used only for some people’s sheer enjoyment. But that is all going to come to an end tonight. That is because tonight, I am going to name a Director of Authority. That person is…

“Always” hits and Commissioner Austin Plavljanich power walks to the ring with a microphone in hand.

Austin Plavljanich: "Hold on Diano, this is going way too far. I have not done anything to hold people down. All I have done is focus on the cream of the crop".

Diano: "That’s funny Austin, because aren’t you the same guy that orchestrated a three on one attack a few weeks back? But don’t worry, because I am not going to be taking any of your powers away from you. However, the DOA will have all the same powers as you, and also reserves the right to overrule any decision you make. (Austin flips out) Now, before anyone thinks this is a setup, I want everyone to know that I hired this man because I know he will not take any crap from anyone".

Plavljanich: "Alright dammit, this whole thing is crap! There is no one who is going to tell me what I can or can’t do! What does he think, he can just come here and take over? And why isn’t he out here now? Is he afraid, is he…

Just then, “Lying From You” hits and “The Show” Joe Corey steps out of the curtain in a black suit. The fans go crazy as the TWF King of Cable enters the ring.

Diano: "Mr. Plavljanich, Smoky Mountain Wrestling fans, allow me to introduce you to the new Director of Authority, “The Show” Joe Corey"!

The fans cheer as Diano shakes Corey’s hand before leaving the ring.

Joe Corey: "Hello SMW, and hello Mr. Commissioner. I don’t know, but didn’t you have something to say to me"?

Plavljanich: "Umm… I just wanted to welcome you to SMW, and say how much I hope we can work well together".

Corey: "That’s what I thought. And I do hope that we can work well together. That is why I have decided to book a match for tonight. That match will see Jake Diamond and Dylan Page get a rematch against Diamond and Swinger for the SMW Tag Team Championship.

Plavljanich looks a little mad as the fans cheer the announcement.

Plavljanich: That’s fine Mr. Corey, but I also have a title match to announce for tonight. That match is Shannon Moore vs. Recon Rage for the SMW Championship.

Corey: Ugh, you see that is going to be a problem.

Plavljanich: What do you mean that is a problem? There is no problem. I just made the match.

Corey: And I am telling you that it is not going to happen. That is because I already have Shannon Moore booked tonight. You see, I am all about giving opportunities. And tonight, the man I am singling out is Chaos Wolfe. You see, I didn’t forget that this kid upset me on Raw a couple weeks back, but I’m not out to hold him back because of it. On the contrary, I am going to push him higher. That is why tonight, we will have an SMW Championship match between Chaos Wolfe and Shannon Moore… and me, in a Triple Threat match.

The crowd doesn’t know what to think as Corey leaves the ring with a smile on his face.

Dan Wilson: Well folks, this night has already gotten off to a wild start. Not only did we learn the identity of the Director of Authority, but we also learned that he will be taking part in our Triple Threat main event for the SMW Championship. However, Joe Corey is not the only person to debut tonight, because sitting next to me is my new broadcast colleague, James Robinson. James, welcome to SMW.

James Robinson: Thank you Dan, and it is a pleasure to be sitting here next to you. Now, without further ado, let’s get to our first match.

Aaron Stevens vs. Mariner

Mariner started this match off quickly, seeming to want to avenge the defeat he suffered on Raw to Mordecai. After a flurry of right hands to Stevens, he is hit with an elbow to the midsection that stopped him in his tracks. Stevens used his power to weaken Mariner, but in the end, Mariner freed himself from a military press slam to him a hard DDT to pick up the win.

Winner: Mariner

James Robinson: Well, I have to say that for my first match as an SMW commentator, that was one hell of a contest!

Dan Wilson: James, if action like that is what you are looking for, you are working for the right people. What is that? Ladies and gentlemen, we are being told that Jennie Finch has just caught up with Austin Plavljanich. Jennie, go ahead.

Backstage

Jennie Finch: Commissioner, do you have a moment?

Austin Plavljanich: Make it quick Jennie.

Finch: Well, it seems like you are going to be having a hard time running this place with Director of Authority Corey around here.

Plavljanich: You listen to me honey. I am still the commissioner around here. I am going to run this promotion, and if the DOA has a problem with it, he can come and find me.

The commissioner walks away as the music of Slater Vain is heard in the arena. The shot then returns to the ring.

Slater Vain vs. Shane Starr

Vain took the fight to Starr from the very beginning. He trapped Shane in the corner and connected with a succession of elbows to the head. Shane started to mount an offensive at around the four-minute mark, but was soon slowed down by the onslaught of Vain. In a rather unusual move, Vain went to the top rope, but he came crashing to the mat when Starr moved out of the way of his big splash. That was the opportunity that Shane needed, as he connected with a moonsault when Vain got to his feet and picked up the three count.

Winner: Shane Starr

TWF Raw, Monday nights at 9 EST on Spike TV

James Robinson: We are back folks, and boy do we have two big matches still to come tonight.

Dan Wilson: Fist off, we will have a rematch from No Remorse, as Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger defend their new Tag Team titles against the former champions, Dylan Page and Jake Diamond.

(A graphic pops up with Chaos Wolfe, Shannon Moore, and Joe Corey on it.)

Robinson: And in our main event, Shannon Moore will defend his SMW Championship against the young upstart, Chaos Wolfe, and the man he upset a few weeks back on RAW, the new Director of Authority and TWF King of Cable, “The Show” Joe Corey.

Wilson: James, don’t you find it at all odd that our new DOA, who has a track record for being obsessed with gold, has placed himself in a title match on his first night on the job?

Robinson: Hey, I think it is a great way for him to measure the talent here in SMW. If these two men can hang with the DOA, then that will speak volumes about the talent we have.

Wilson: Well, he has already had some contact with one of the men he will face tonight, Chaos Wolfe, the same man who picked up a pinfall victory a few weeks ago on Raw. You don’t find it weird that he would want to gain a measure of revenge tonight?

Robinson: I feel it is the opposite of that actually. I think “The Show” saw something in Wolfe, and tonight, he is going to try to bring that out of him again.

Wilson: Well, before we get too carried away with our main event, it is time for our first of three title matches tonight. Xavier successfully defended his TV Championship against Michael Modest at No Remorse, but now he must continue his weekly title defenses, as he faces Matt Stryker. And that match is happening right now.

SMW TV Championship Match

Xavier (c) vs. Matt Stryker

Both of these men looked as though they had been preparing for this match for weeks, as they both were able to counter each others holds for the first few minutes of the match. Stryker took the early advantage and weakened Xavier with a rear chinlock. Xavier hit a succession of blows to the gut of Stryker and freed himself from his grasp. Xavier kept Stryker on the mat with a combination of clotheslines, dropkicks, and arm drags. Xavier went for a huge piledriver, but Matt backdropped him to escape the hold. Stryker irish whipped the champion into the ropes, but missed a clothesline. Both men then connected with clotheslines, sending them both to the mat. The referee got up to a count of seven when the bell rang. The crowd looked confused until the ring announcer announced that the ten-minute time limit had expired, and the referee ruled this a no contest.

Dan Wilson: What a match! These two men took each other to the limit, but it just wasn’t enough time for Matt Stryker to take the title away!

James Robinson: That they did Dan, but I don’t think that time is going to be a problem in our next match. That is because I don’t think that match is going to last long anyways.

Jennie Finch is standing backstage with Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger.

Jennie Finch: I am here with the Tag Team Champions, Diamond and Swinger. Tonight, you two will be defending your Tag…

Simon Diamond: Jennie, Simon has a problem. At No Remorse, Swinger and I won these titles. Now, we have anticipated defending these belts against new challengers. But then, Joe Corey comes in here and orders us to give Diamond and Page a rematch right here tonight. If those two were able to beat us, then they wouldn’t have lost these titles in the first place. So now, we have to go out there and beat these two chumps again. This is nothing but pure crap!

Finch: Swinger, we know how your partner feels. What are you thinking going into this rematch?

Johnny Swinger: I think we are going to go out there and embarrass those two punks again. And this time, we’re doing it once and for all.

Commercial Break

TWF Primetime, Friday nights at 9 EST on Fox

As the show comes back, the fans are on their feet as crowd favorites Jake Diamond and Dylan Page are making their way to the ring for their Tag Team Title match.

SMW Tag Team Championship Match

Diamond & Swinger (c) vs. Jake Diamond & Dylan Page

The former champions charged the ring, but Diamond and Swinger bowled out to the arena floor. Page and Simon Diamond started the match, with Page throwing Diamond to the mat. The challengers tagged frequently, keeping Swinger on the outside of the ring. Diamond and Diamond go at it in the ring, with Jake sending Simon to the corner. He charged in, but Simon met him with a boot to the face, and a tag to Swinger. The champions went on to dominate the match for the next five minutes, until Swinger dropkicked Diamond, who fell back into his corner and tagged Page. Page came into the ring like a house of fire, taking down both of the champions. The ring would soon fill up with all four men, until the referee started to use force to get Jake Diamond out of the ring. With the referee distracted, Simon Diamond grabbed a chair and went to hit Page, who was being held back by Swinger. Page was able to move out of the way, and Swinger took the blow. Diamond was sent out of the ring by Page, who then hit Swinger with The Tennessee Plunge to reclaim the Tag Team straps.

Winners, and NEW Tag Team Champions: Diamond & Page

Dan Wilson: Can you believe it! The kids did it! They regained the tag team titles!

James Robinson: This is a travesty, Diamond and Swinger were robbed. They didn’t even have time to enjoy being champions!

A split-screen comes up showing Chaos Wolfe and Shannon Moore making their way from their locker rooms to the ring.

Wilson: We are moments away from our main event for the SMW Championship, James.

The split-screen goes away and a full-screen shot takes over, showing the DOA, “The Show” Joe Corey, coming to the ring with his regular Raw wrestling gear on and the King of Cable title around his waist.

Robinson: And that is the man who made the match, Joe Corey. Not only did he make the match, but he put himself in it as well.

Wilson: And I still don’t care what you say, I think “The Show” has something up his sleeve tonight.

Commercial Break

TWF Raw presents Evil Intentions, Saturday May 29th only on Pay-Per-View.

When the show returns, Chaos Wolfe is already in the ring, and “Lying From You” hits and “The Show” Joe Corey comes to the ring. Shannon Moore comes to the ring next, proudly displaying his SMW Championship.

Triple Threat Match for the SMW Championship

Shannon Moore (c) vs. Chaos Wolfe vs. “The Show” Joe Corey

From the moment the bell rang, the DOA went right at the SMW Champion. Corey sent Wolfe to the outside, and then went on the offensive on Moore. Corey connected with a succession of knife-edge chops, followed by a belly-to-belly overhead throw. He went for the cover, but was pulled off at two by Wolfe. Wolfe unleashed on the man he beat weeks before, eventually sending “The Show” to the outside of the ring. Wolfe and Moore would battle back and forth for the following minutes, while Corey remained on the outside, surveying the action. Moore went to finish the match off, but was caught by the DOA, who sent him crashing to the mat with a thunderous chokeslam. With the champion out of the way, Corey went back to focus on Wolfe, who connected with a barrage of right hands. Wolfe signaled to the crowd that he was going for the win, but was hit from behind with a low blow. The referee, checking on the fallen champion, did not notice the illegal move. Corey then picked up Wolfe, and connected with the Showstopper, a twisting sit-down version of the Pedigree. Corey went for the cover, but picked up Wolfe at the count of two. Corey then got up, and pulled Shannon Moore on top of Chaos Wolfe. The referee refused to count the fall, but the Director of Authority threatened to fire him, and he had no choice but to count the fall and declare Shannon Moore the victor.

Winner: Shannon Moore

Dan Wilson: See, I told you that Corey had a hidden agenda. The only reason he made this match was in order to exact revenge on the rookie who embarrassed him, Chaos Wolfe.

James Robinson: But Dan, look at what he has done tonight. He righted a wrong done by Diamond and Swinger, even if I think it wasn’t the right way to do it. He already has Commissioner Plavljancih looking over his shoulder whenever he goes to make a decision. And he has made our championship mean a little bit more!

Wilson: How has he done that?

Robinson: Just look at Shannon Moore. Tonight our champion technically has just picked up a victory over the TWF King of Cable. Just imagine how much of a morale boost that is going to be for our locker room!

Wilson: That will have to be seen in order to know for sure. There are a lot of people in that…

Director of Authority Corey gets a microphone on the outside of the ring as Chaos Wolfe starts to get up in the ring.

Joe Corey: I would just like to congratulate Shannon Moore on a successful title defense. I have to say that I am very surprised at the level of talent I have seen tonight, and I am confident that the product is going to prosper in the near future. I am not going to lie to all of you, I will do some things that you are not going to like, but that is not my concern. I am doing them to better the product, not for fanfare.

The crowd stands silent, with some of them booing. Wolfe finally gets to his feet during this and looks at Corey, counting 1,2,3.

Corey: Oh, so you think you are funny, huh? Well, we’ll see how funny you think this is. As many of you people know, the purpose of a development territory is to prepare wrestlers for what they will have to expect on the main TWF roster. This is especially true of rookies, kind of like you, Wolfe. But if I have learned one thing on my first night at my new job, it is that I can’t allow things to get personal. That’s why moments before this match, I put a call into a good friend of mine, Shane McMahon. And once I hung up the phone, I was one wrestler short on this roster. That is because Chaos Wolfe, you’ve been promoted to PrimeTime. More importantly, as it pertains to Smoky Mountain Wrestling, you are officially fired. Have fun getting your ass kicked by some of my friends on PrimeTime, people who, unlike you, are REAL wrestlers. Have fun.

Dan Wilson: Are you kidding me? One night into this job, and Joe Corey has screwed Chaos Wolfe. He is not ready for the main roster, he is going to get eaten alive!

James Robinson: That may be true Dan, but that isn’t our problem anymore. For Dan Wilson, I’m James Robinson, and we’ll see you next time here on Joe Corey’s SMW Aggression. OFF AIR
