SMW Aggression

Nashville, Tennessee

August 3, 2004

A video chronicoling the events of last show's main event, from Austin Plavljanich interrupting Max Ogden’s debut to the finish of the match that saw Ogden pick up his first victory. The screen turns to black and white when Violent P attacks Max Ogden from behind. The package ends with a close up of Violent P standing over Ogden and laughing. From there, the SMW Aggression opening video plays, and the camera pans the capacity crowd at the SMW Arena.

Dan Wilson: Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to this week’s edition of SMW Aggression. I am Dan Wilson, and standing next to me is my broadcast colleague, James Robinson.

James Robinson: Thanks Dan and do we have a show tonight. As we heard last week, tonight will be the start of our mini tournament for the SMW Television Championship, as Matt Stryker will have a rematch against Chris Sabin to see who will move on to face Xavier next week!

Dan Wilson: And if that match is half of what we saw last time, then we are going to be in for a treat! But right now, it is time to get to the action, as Shawn Evans is already in the ring.

Shawn Evans vs. Aaron Stevens

As the bell sounded, both men immediately went to the center of the ring and locked up with a collar and elbow tie-up. After taking it to a side headlock, Evans used his hip to flip Stevens over all while keeping the headlock intact. Stevens countered with a head scissors and Evans quickly kicked out of it. Evans and Stevens both returned to their feet in the midst of a stare down. The crowd then began rumbling for the opening match. As the two locked up again, Evans broke and hit a hard right hand catching Stevens off guard and sending him to the mat. Stevens climbed up to his feet fast and immediately tackled Evans and unloaded on him with a fury of right hands. The ref pulled Stevens off and gave Evans time to get up. When he did, Stevens hit a giant spike piledriver and rolled over and hooked the leg for the 1...2...but Evans managed to kick out! Evans was a bit slow to his feet and Stevens sent him off the ropes and was looking for a clothesline but Evans ducked under and when he came back off the other side, both men were thinking the same thing and both men hit a clothesline. The ref began his ten count but both men stumbled to their feet around the seven count. Both men then engaged in a slugfest when Stevens ducked a right hand and kicked Evans in the gut and hit a giant spike DDT he calls the "Idolizer" to pick up win.

Winner: Aaron Stevens

James Robinson: Can you believe that, Dan? I have never seen someone connect with a reverse DDT with more power than Stevens just did, and thank God the referee is able to be there, because he is helping Evans back to the locker room.

Dan Wilson: I have to agree with you James, that was an impressive victory for Aaron Stevens, and hopefully Shawn Evans is okay. From the looks of it though, he is still a little out of it.

(“Lying From You” hits and SMW President, “The Show” Joe Corey, makes his way to the ring.)

Joe Corey: Ladies and gentlemen, let me first welcome you to the SMW Arena. I know that all of you came here to see the athletes of SMW compete in this very ring, so I am going to say what I came out here to say, and then we will get back to the show. Over the past week, I have been making some very important....

(Shannon Moore’s music hits, interrupting the President’s announcement. The SMW Champion makes his way to the ring, and grabs a microphone.)

Shannon Moore: I’m sorry Mr. Corey, but there is something that I need from you, and I need it now!

Corey: You know what Shannon, how about next time you want something, you come and ask me when I’m not in the middle of a major announcement.

Moore: Like I said, I am sorry about that, but if you saw what happened last week, then you probably know why I am out here. (Corey nods) I want Recon Rage, and I want him tonight. I don’t even care if I have to put this title on the line!

Corey: Shannon, I know you want Recon Rage in this ring, but it is not going to happen tonight.

(“Always” plays and Commissioner Austin Plavljanich comes to the ring.)

Austin Plavljanich: Excuse me Joe, but I don’t see why you are not giving this chance to Recon Rage. If Shannon Moore wants to put his title on the line against him, I think we should let him.

Corey: I never said he couldn’t put the title on the line against Recon Rage. I said he couldn’t do it tonight. That is because next week, we are going to be having an SMW Night of Champions. Not only will we have the semi-finals and finals of our TV Title tournament, but also the SMW Tag Team Championship will be defended against the winner of tonight’s fatal Fourway tag match. However, in addition to that, the main event will see Shannon Moore defend the SMW Championship against none other than Recon Rage!

(Both Shannon Moore and Austin Plavljanich seem to be happy about the announcement)

Not only that, but Mr. Commissioner, I am going to let you choose a stipulation for that title match right now.

Plavljanich: (thinking) You know what, I don’t want Shannon to be able to complain about a fast count or anything, so the title match next week is going to be a good old fashioned Leather Strap Match!

Moore: That’s fine with me!

Corey: You know Austin, that is a pretty good stipulation, but I think I have one of my own.

Plavljanich: Wait a damn minute! You said that I got to pick the stipulation for this match!

Corey: No, I said that you could pick a stipulation for this match. And I am going to keep your stipulation, but I am a little concerned about some of Rage’s friends getting involved. That is why next week, it will be a match for the SMW Championship, when Shannon Moore faces Recon Rage in a Leather Strap Match, inside of a Steel Cage! Thank you very much!

(The fans go crazy as Shannon Moore smiles. Austin Plavljanich has a crazed look on his face and Joe Corey leaves the ring.)

Commercial Break

(TWF Anarchy Rulz, featuring the six-man Hell in a Cell match for the World Championship, catch the encore, only on Pay-Per-View.)

(Backstage, Jennie Finch is standing with the one of the newest members of SMW, Violent P.)

Jennie Finch: Welcome back to Aggression folks and I am standing here with a man who made a rather shocking debut last week, Violent P. Now, the question that is on almost everyone’s mind is this, why did you attack Max Ogden last week?

Violent P: Why did I attack Max Ogden? Why wouldn't I attack Max Ogden? I came here last week, expecting to be announced as the latest acquisition of SMW. Instead, Max Ogden, who was signed after me, was the centerpiece of Aggression. You came out here and nearly brought this crowd to tears with Max's story, and not only that, Shannon Moore comes out here and practically gives him an SMW Championship match. It was disgusting!

Finch: Well, I'm sorry if you were offended by my interview last week, I was just doing my job of introducing the SMW fans to a new competitor, something that I was hoping to do with you now.

Violent P: That's exactly what I mean, now. I should have been having this interview last week, when I was coming into SMW as a new face, someone these fans had never seen before. But Max Ogden was given my spot, and I knew that I had to do something about it. That's why when he was involved in the main event, a main event that somehow he came out on the winning end of, I came out here and I took matters into my own hands. I took Max Ogden, and I made him regret the fact that he even came to Smoky Mountain Wrestling in the first place. I even planned to finish the job this week, I went to President Corey's office as soon as I got to the arena today and asked him to give me Max Ogden in my first match here. That's when I found out that Max was not in the building, and he is not going to be here tonight. So instead, I am going to go to that ring later on tonight, and I don't care who is in the ring with me, because in my mind, I am in the ring with Max Ogden tonight, and I am going to take him out, for good.

(Violent P walks away, and the scene switches back to Dan Wilson and James Robinson at ringside.)

James Robinson: Well, at least now we have some sort of understanding on why Violent P attacked Max Ogden last week. I just kind of feel bad for whoever is going to be facing him later on tonight.

Dan Wilson: Moving on however, it is now time to get started with our Mini-Tournament for the SMW Television Championship. For those of you who missed it last week, here are the events that led up to tonight's opening match.

(A video shows Xavier and Matt Stryker going to a time limit draw two shows ago. From there, Matt Stryker's challenge to the TV Champion is shown, followed by him being defeated by a debuting Chris Sabin last week. From there, the upset victory by Mariner over Xavier is shown, and then the announcement by President Corey about the subsequent tournament ends the video package. When the package ends, Mariner is shown walking to the broadcast position to do guest commentary.)

First Round Television Championship Tournament Match

Matt Stryker vs. "The Future" Chris Sabin

Sabin and Stryker got into a long stare down in the middle of the ring. The two began talking a little trash to one another. Something Sabin said infuriated Stryker and he threw the first right hand. After a few right hands Stryker sent Sabin off the ropes but he ducked a clothesline and when Sabin came back around, he caught Stryker with a flying forearm smash. Stryker wasn’t expecting that and he held his jaw, as he used the ropes to pull himself up. When Stryker got to his feet, Sabin charged him but Stryker slid out of the ring. Sabin grabbed his hair and got Stryker back on the apron but Stryker drove a shoulder into Sabin's gut and slung over the top looking for a sunset flip but Sabin sat down and hooked his legs sealing the 1...2...3. His music hit and he slid out of the ring as Stryker argued with the ref.

Winner: "The Future" Chris Sabin

Dan Wilson: Can you believe this? For the second week in a row, Chris Sabin has defeated Matt Stryker!

Mariner: Well, he still has one more mountain to clear before he gets to me, look at the aisle.

(Xavier is shown walking into the arena and stands in the aisle, applauding Chris Sabin. Mariner gets to his feet and all three men look back and forth at each other.)

James Robinson: It seems that these men are all ready for the matches that are going to take place next week, but this has to take Matt Stryker's mindset to an all-time low! Two weeks ago, he took the TV Champion Xavier to a ten-minute time limit draw, and now he has been brought down to Earth by these two losses to Sabin. It is going to take him a long time to get back into the thick of things in the title hunt!

Dan Wilson: We will be right back ladies and gentlemen, but first, we have a special treat for you. We sent an SMW camera crew to document the first few days of Joe Diano's training to become a professional wrestler, and here is the first of our series looking into his progress, roll the footage.

(The shot opens outside the SMW Arena, where the trainers are shown waiting as a car pulls up. Former SMW President, Joe Diano, gets out of the driver's side and reaches to get his bags and walks up to the trainers after locking up the car.)

Joe Diano: Hey Al.

Al Snow: Right on time.

(The two men shake hands.)

Diano: Of course, I wouldn't miss this for anything. So what will we be doing again?

Snow: Well, Dean and Dave will be teaching you submission wrestling, Fit will teach you mat wrestling, and Paul and I will show you everything else.

Diano: Okay, well I guess we should get started?

Snow: Yes.

(All the men walk in as the shot goes back to ringside.)

Dan Wilson: Well, it looks like the long road to becoming a pro wrestler is now started by Joe Diano. Next week, we will have some more footage of Joe as he continues his training.

James Robinson: And don't go anywhere folks, because we still have our Fatal Fourway to determine the #1 Contenders for the Tag Team titles and the in-ring debut of Violent P! But as we go to commercial, we have some video of Shane Starr, who recently received a title shot on Slaughterhouse's latest Pay-Per-View, King of the Hill!

("Superstar" by Saliva hit as Shane Starr made his way to the ring to a good pop.)

Styles: Here comes Shane Starr. The former mFw Tag Team Champion won a battle royal title shot and our General Manager made the match for tonight.

Gertner: This is going to be a big night for him, especially with this being the first time he's facing a World Champion, maybe the power that be in SMW should take notice! ("Voodoo Child" by Jimi Hendrix hit as Marcus Hansen came to the ring with the Undisputed title around his waist to the loudest pop of the night.) Styles: Here comes the Undisputed Champion. Gertner: Yeah, and this time he's supposed to be coming out, unlike before! Styles: Why don't you go tell him about that? I’ll hold your headset! Gertner: I would, but I don't wanna leave you hanging out here alone, we don't wanna lose ratings on our main event. Styles: Right! Undisputed Championship Match Marcus Hansen(c) vs. Shane Starr This one was a great wrestling match from the start with Starr using several mat hold as well as several submission moves and Hansen’s used several counter moves, Starr took a brief moment and drop kicked Hansen’s right on the chin but he only got a two count as Hansen got up via the rope Starr lunged at him but he moved and Starr went over the top rope. Hansen went out and tossed him back into the ring and covered him but only got a two count as Hansen’s went to pick him up Starr rolled him up in a school boy but got a two count himself as he quickly got a knee up and dropped Hansen with a DDT, Starr set Hansen in position and signaled for the shooting star press but as he got to the top Hansen pulled his way back up and Starr went for a double ax handle. but as soon as he got close enough Hansen tagged him on the money with the super kick in mid air, which allowed him to go for the pinfall and score the win to retain the title. Winner, and still Undisputed Champion: Marcus Hansen ("Voodoo Child" hit as the ref handed Hansen his championship and raised his hand but Hansen quickly dropped the belt and help Starr to his feet and in a show of respect lead fans in applause for Starr as he left the ring.) Styles: A show of class by the Undisputed Champion in a show of respect towards his opponent. Gertner: Yeah! I think we ought to send a tape of this match down to SMW so they can see they got a great talent in Shane Starr and should treat him that way.

Commercial Break (Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, now in theatres. Check it out, it’s hilarious.)

(As Aggression comes back, SMW President Joe Corey is shown sitting in his office.)

Joe Corey: Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am going to make this quick so that we can get on with the show. Earlier tonight, I said that I had a big announcement to make, but I never got the opportunity to deliver it due to other business that took place. At this time, I would like to announce that starting next week, we will beginning what I am calling the Second Chance Challenge. Sixteen former TWF superstars are going to be invited to the SMW Arena, four at a time for the next four weeks. Each week, we will be having four-man Battle Royals, with the winners advancing to a King of the Mountain Battle Royal, where elimination will take place by pinfall, submission, or being thrown over the top rope. The winner of that match will then be given a developmental contract here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and hopefully, one day they will return to one of the main rosters of TWF. I feel that this will be a great opportunity for not only these superstars, but also for the SMW locker room and for all of the SMW fans. Now, let's get on with the show, thank you.

(Back at ringside)

Dan Wilson: Can you believe this? Next week, we will be seeing former TWF stars right here in an SMW ring! This is amazing!

James Robinson: I for one can't wait, and I don't think many of these fans can either. But now it is time to get back to the action, as Scott "Flash" Norton is making his way to the ring.

Carly Colon vs. Scott Norton

Norton the crafty veteran was all over Colon in the early going. Norton caught Colon with a big clothesline, and with Colon on the ground, Norton dropped his 300+ pound frame on him with a big splash. Norton hooked the leg for the 1.....2... but Colon was able to roll the shoulder off the mat. Colon was able to make it to his feet and Norton was looking to come in for another clothesline but Colon went to the knee with a drop kick. Norton went to one knee. Colon came off the ropes looking for a cross body but Norton caught him with a powerslam he calls "Sudden Impact". Norton hooked the leg for the 1......2.... but Colon again had to roll his shoulder off the mat due to the size of Norton. Colon was holding his mid-section while using the ropes to pull himself to his feet and Norton came barreling in looking for a big clothesline, but the "Latin Sensation" used his brain and pulled the top rope down and fell to the ground and Norton flipped over the top rope to the floor. Colon fell back into the ring and told the ref to begin counting. The ref began his count as Norton was a little dazed on the outside. Norton beat the ref's 10 count back into the ring at 8. Norton got to his feet and Colon tried a clothesline but Norton just laughed. Colon came off the ropes again but Norton kicked him in the gut and dropped him with a big powerbomb and stacked Colon up for the easy 1......2.....3.

Winner: Scott Norton

James Robinson: That was an impressive win for Scott Norton, and if you ask me, he is one of the most underrated stars here in SMW.

Dan Wilson: You may be onto something there James, and I think that Norton is about to make everyone believe it too. We will be right back folks to crown our #1 Contenders.

(Footage of Simon Diamond vs. Brian Adams from a recent Uprising is shown. The cameras then show Austin Plavljanich with Spencer Hollywood and Steve Bradley.)

Austin Plavljanich: I don't know if you two realize how important this match is tonight. If you two win this Fatal Fourway match tonight, and go on to win the Tag Team Championship next week, and Recon wins the SMW Championship, we will be in total control. Now go out there and get this ball rolling.

(Bradley and Hollywood leave the locker room as the show goes to commercial.)

Commercial Break

(TWF PrimeTime, only on Fox.)

Fatal Fourway to determine the #1 Contenders for the SMW Tag Team Championship

Kronik vs. Diamond & Swinger vs. Adrenaline vs. Hollywood & Bradley

Chris Cage starts the match with Simon Diamond, who is sent crashing to the mat with a dead armdrag, shades of the legendary Ricky Steamboat. Diamond charges again and Cage replies with another armdrag, but this time holds on with an armbar. Diamond escapes and makes a tag to Spencer Hollywood. Hollywood goes to tie up with Cage, but hits a thumb to the eye first, taking the upper hand. For the next ten minutes, all eight participants tag in and out, with a fine match taking place, one that is being appreciated by the SMW Arena fans, who are cheering the action. Just as it looks like Steve Bradley is about to win the match for his team, John Toland gets a surge of energy, and takes down Bradley, and then Spencer Hollywood when he entered the ring. Toland then takes out Simon Diamond and runs to bounce off the ropes. He runs past Simon to the other ropes, gaining more momentum, but is tripped by Steve Bradley, who then pulls him outside of the ring. Hollywood and Cage join the battle on the outside, as Adams and Clark enter the ring, Adams being the legal man, having made a blind tag when Toland hit the first set of ropes. Clark runs and sends Johnny Swinger to the floor, and then both members of Kronik hit Simon Diamond with High Times, and pick up the win.

Winners: Kronik

Dan Wilson: That was a big win for the team of Adams and Clark and on top of that, they picked up the victory over Diamond and Swinger, a team that they have been having problems with for the past couple of weeks!

James Robinson: I for one am impressed with the effort put forth by this new team of Adrenaline. Chris Cage and John Toland rose to the challenge in their first match in SMW. Also, I kind of feel bad for Spencer Hollywood and Steve Bradley. When they go back to that locker room and see Austin Plavljanich, they are going to have to deal with spoiling his entire plan of taking back control of SMW!

Dan Wilson: We have had one hell of a night here in the SMW Arena, but it's not over yet. When we return, we will see the in-ring debut of Violent P! Here is a little refresher of what happened last week!

(The footage of Violent P attacking Max Ogden last week is shown again. His comments from earlier in the night are also replayed before the commercial break.)

Commercial Break

(TWF Raw, featuring SMW President, “The Show” Joe Corey, only on Spike TV.)

Violent P vs. Chad Collyer

Collyer and Violent P locked up in the center of the ring, and with his teachings from Dean Malenko, Collyer took the hold to a side headlock. P sent Collyer off the ropes and took him down with a strong shoulder block that had Collyer holding the back of his head. Collyer got to his feet and went for a suplex but Violent P was too heavy for him to lift. So Violent P lifted Collyer up for a suplex but with his strength, turned it into a front sit out slam. P hooked the leg and the ref was in perfect position to count the 1...2... but Collyer kicked out. Collyer was in the corner and Violent P came charging in and Collyer pulled the ref in and Violent P destroyed the ref. The ref was out cold and Violent P was in disbelief. He turned and Collyer missed with a steel chair shot. Violent P kicked him in the gut and hit the Pedigree. P rolled him over and had the 3 count easily when from the crowd came Max Ogden and he picked up the chair and when Violent P got to his feet and turned to get the ref, Ogden cracked the chair over Violent P's head, busting him open. Ogden pulled Collyer over Violent P and pulled the ref up and slid out of the ring. The ref slowly regained sight and counted a very slow three count giving the win to Chad Collyer.

Winner: Chad Collyer

(Max Ogden gets back into the ring, still holding onto the chair that busted Violent P open. He cracks the chair against P's back and once P gets back to his feet, Ogden takes a wild swing at him. Violent P falls to the ground and out of the ring, and Ogden keeps the bad mouth on him. Both men yell back and forth at each other, Ogden in the ring and Violent P walking to the back.)

Dan Wilson: These two men have developed a sincere hatred for each other, and it doesn't seem like it is going to be easy to keep them apart! We will have to see what happens next time and don't forget fans, every title will be on the line next time, as it will be an SMW Night of Champions! For James Robinson, see you then!
