October 15, 2004
A scene of Recon Rage being held up on the shoulders of Spencer Hollywood and Steve Bradley the night he won the SMW Championship is shown in slow-motion, black and white form. It is interrupted briefly by a tumbler being rolled around. A scene of Commissioner Austin Plavljanich introducing Recon Rage last week is then show, but it is also interrupted by a rolling tumbler. Finally, a scene of Recon Rage standing on the second rope with the SMW Championship belt held high in the air is shown, with a tumbler interrupting that as well. The scene then changes to color as President Joe Corey is shown announcing the format for the Lethal Lottery that will determine the new #1 contender to the championship. A bat then comes swinging at the screen, shattering it. It is then that “Warrior” hits and the SMW Aggression opening package starts playing. When it finishes, a pyro display goes off and Dan Wilson and James Robinson are shown standing in front of their announce position.
Dan Wilson: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the SMW Arena, and welcome to SMW Aggression. We have a big show planned tonight, as the SMW Television Championship will be defended when “The Future” Chris Sabin defends his title against Michael Modest. Also, Shannon Moore will attempt to continue his road to regaining the SMW Championship when he goes up against Spencer Hollywood!
James Robinson: Not only that, but we will learn what the teams are going to be for the first round of the Lethal Lottery, which will start next week here on Aggression. President Corey will be out here later tonight and will pick names at random, and each team will be in action next week!
Wilson: But before all of that, we have the unfortunate duty of reporting that Cory Rodriguez, a loyal and trusted member of the SMW and TWF rosters for years, has unfortunately passed away after a long battle with cancer. We would like to send our condolences along to his family, and his memory will always be with those here in SMW. Moving on, for those of you who have not visited SMW.com over the last week, then you have not read the statement by President Corey about what happened as we went off the air last week. If you missed it, here is what happened.
(Footage begins to play, starting from the point where the referee was knocked out in the Max Ogden/Violent P match last week. The footage shows how Ogden won the match, and then the sneak attack from Mr. Vain. It ends with Violent P and Mr. Vain standing over the unconscious body of Max Ogden.)
Wilson: We were all in shock during those actions, because we were told that anyone who interfered in that match, before, during, or after it, would be fired on the spot. That is why when someone came down, we were in total awe. We didn’t think any SMW wrestler would throw their job away.
Robinson: But then we found out that it wasn’t an SMW wrestler, because Mr. Vain wasn’t a contracted SMW wrestler. This was all a setup by Violent P to make sure that he walked out of the SMW Arena a winner last week, no matter if he won or lost the match.
Wilson: That’s a good point James, and that is what President Corey stated in his address. We also learned that Mr. Vain is now contracted to SMW, and we can also tell you that Max Ogden is in the building tonight, but security is making sure he doesn’t leave his dressing room until President Corey says he can come to this ring and address the fans. But moving on…
(Dan Wilson is interrupted by Mr. Vain’s music, and Mr. Vain and Violent P make their way to the ring.)
Violent P: All week, people have been asking why Mr. Vain attacked Max Ogden last week after our match. All week people have wondered why someone who wasn’t even in SMW would come here and attack someone who is a contracted SMW wrestler. You all want to know why Mr. Vain would come here and attack Max Ogden the way he did? Well I’ll tell you. He did it, because I asked him to. One thing that bothers me more than anything is when someone with the talent of Mr. Vain is sitting at home and someone like Max Ogden, who doesn’t even belong in this ring, is being pushed as a huge rising star in SMW. Mr. Vain is one of the best wrestlers in the business today, and I made it possible for him to prove that to the world. President Corey had no choice but to hire him once he saw the impact that he made in this ring last week.
Mr. Vain: I was once one of the biggest stars in MOW, and then the company was bought out, I came to the TWF. When I got there, I was not allowed to show what I was able to do, because I was told to be a bodyguard for Rick Martel. But now, I am going to show the world why I am one of the best in this business. And if Max Ogden has a problem with that, then he can come to the ring right now and do something about it.
(“Lying From Me” hits and President Joe Corey walks out to the entrance way with a microphone.)
Joe Corey: Mr. Vain, I just wanted to come out here and welcome you to SMW. I for one paid attention to the time that you spent on the Primetime roster, and as a member of the Rampage roster myself, I respect the road you had to take to get to where you are. That is why tonight, I am entering you into the field of eighteen men who are going to be in the Lethal Lottery. Also, I have decided that you are going to be in action tonight. More specifically, you will be in the main event against an up-and-comer on this roster.
Mr. Vain: Corey, I refuse to take on Max Ogden tonight! Have you seen him, lately? He is psycho, it’s an unsafe working environment!
Corey: Calm down, you are not going to be facing Max Ogden tonight. I have decided to give Max the night off, because I for one am not going to be held responsible for what he does tonight. However, he will be in this ring tonight, because I am going to let him address this crowd. But back to your match, I have decided that since you and Violent P like to work together to take people out so much, you are going to be tag team partners tonight when you face the team of Chris Cage and John Toland. So I recommend that you two start preparing for your match, and I will be back out here later tonight to announce the teams for the Lethal Lottery next week!
(“Lying From Me” plays as the show goes to commercial.)
Commercial Break
(“Friday Night Lights”, now in theatres)
Dan Wilson: Welcome back to Aggression folks, and if you just tuned in, we learned that Mr. Vain has been signed to SMW, and he will be in action here later tonight!
James Robinson: That’s right Dan, because Mr. Vain will team up with Violent P to take on the team of Adrenaline, Chris Cage and John Toland. However, we are about to get under way with match three of the 2nd Chance Series. So far we have Mideon and Nova who have moved on to the final match at Lethal Lottery, and tonight we will add one more.
2ND CHANCE SERIES QUALIFYING BATTLE ROYAL
Hardcore Holly vs. Funaki vs. Scott Hall vs. Angel of Death
From the get go, Angel of Death goes right after Funaki, seemingly the long shot in winning this match. Scott Hall and Hardcore Holly are going at it, trading right hands until Holly buries a boot in Hall’s midsection. On the other side of the ring, Funaki starts to go on the offensive, as he connects with a few shots to the Angel. Funaki goes to clothesline Angel of Death, but he ducks, and then connects with a clothesline, the momentum of which sends both men over the top rope. Angel of Death falls to the outside, but Funaki is able to hold onto the top rope and save himself. He then jumps off the top rope at Scott Hall, who catches him. Hall then turns his back to the ropes and throws Funaki over the top rope onto Angel of Death, using a fallaway slam. With only two men left, Holly and Hall start to go at it again. Hardcore gets Scott Hall on the ropes, but Hall grabs the rope and refuses to be sent over. Holly grabs his legs and lifts him up even with the ropes. Holly then kicks Hall with a questionable low blow. Holly starts yelling at the fans that the match is all but over, but when he turns around, he is met with a lowblow from Hall. Scott Hall sets up Hardcore Holly for the Outsider’s Edge, but at the last second, Holly backdrops Hall, sending him to the outside of the ring, making Holly the winner.
Winner: Hardcore Holly
James Robinson: Well, it looked like Scott Hall had everything in hand, but Hardcore Holly was able to counter the Outsider’s Edge and send Hall to the outside. Hardcore Holly will now join Mideon and Nova in the finals of the 2nd Chance Series, and next week we will find out who the fourth and final man in that match will be!
Dan Wilson: Things are shaping up to be very interesting at Lethal Lottery, and it will get even better later tonight when we find out what the teams are going to be next week for the first round of the Lethal Lottery to determine the #1 Contender to Recon Rage’s SMW Championship. Right now however, Jennie Finch is standing by with the newest member of the SMW roster, “The Submissions Man” Ted Huntsman.
(Backstage, Jennie Finch is standing next to “The Submissions Man” Ted Huntsman.)
Jennie Finch: Thanks Dan, and as you said, standing next to me is “The Submissions Man” Ted Huntsman. Ted, let me start off by welcoming you to Smoky Mountain Wrestling.
Ted Huntsman: Thank you Jennie, it is a lifelong dream to be here.
Finch: Tonight you are going to be going against a man who hasn’t been around SMW for a few months, The Patriot. Do you have any thoughts before your first match?
Huntsman: Well, I have a lot of respect for The Patriot and everything he stands for. However, I also have a lot of respect for myself, and I intend to make a name for myself here in SMW.
(Huntsman is interrupted by The Patriot.)
The Patriot: I’m sorry to interrupt Jennie, but I just wanted to come over here and see the man I am going to be facing in the ring tonight. Good luck my friend, I’ll see you in the ring.
Huntsman: Same to you.
(Both men shake hands and The Patriot leaves to go to the ring.)
Commercial Break
(TWF Rampage, only on Spike TV)
Dan Wilson: Welcome back to SMW Aggression, and we are just about ready for our next match which will see the debut of Ted Huntsman.
James Robinson: I am looking forward to this Dan. I have heard a lot about this man, and if half of it is true, then he will be a success story here in SMW.
The Patriot vs. “The Submissions Man” Ted Huntsman
At the start of the match, Ted Huntsman walks up to The Patriot and offers to shake his hand. The Patriot looks confused at first, but goes to shake his hand. The men lock up and Patriot sends Huntsman down to the mat. Huntsman gets up and goes to lock up again. This time, he slips behind Patriot and locks him in a hammer lock. Patriot is quick to get to the ropes, causing the break. Huntsman seems to have gotten some of his confidence back, and tries to stay on the offensive. Huntsman grabs Patriot from behind and lifts him up, dropping him onto his stomach. Ted then spins over his back and locks him in a Guchinam arm bar. Huntsman leans back, putting more pressure on the joints of Patriot, who is screaming in pain. Patriot is able to stretch his leg and just make it to the ropes, and Huntsman breaks the hold. Ted goes for another waistlock, but this time he is met with an elbow to the side of the head from Patriot. Looking to be fighting on desperation, Patriot starts to put the boots to the rookie. Patriot sends him to the ropes and then sends him back to the mat with a strong clothesline. After a bodyslam, Patriot goes to the top rope. Once he is set, he waits for Ted Huntsman to get up so he can hit his flying crossbody. Huntsman gets up and spins around, where he is met with the body of Patriot coming at him from the top rope. In a shocking move for a rookie, Huntsman rolls through the crossbody and locks Patriot in the crossface. After a few seconds, the veteran taps out.
Winner: “The Submissions Man” Ted Huntsman
Dan Wilson: Well, the rookie was able to squeak out the win here tonight, and from the looks of things, he is going to a major player very soon here in SMW.
(Backstage, a security guard opens up the door to Max Ogden’s locker room, and Max Ogden steps out and security surrounds him and leads him to the ringside area.)
James Robinson: It seems like we are going to be joined by Max Ogden in just a few minutes folks, so don’t go away.
Commercial Break
(TWF Primetime, only on FOX)
(When Aggression returns, “Inner Vision” hits and Max Ogden comes to the ring, surrounded by security. As Ogden enters the ring, the security guards spread out around the ring.)
Max Ogden: Last week, I came out here to prove to the world that I was better than Violent P. After twenty five minutes, I was able to hit the “Train Wreck” and get the win. Before I know it, I am getting attacked from behind by a man in a ski-mask. I was so out of it, that it wasn’t until I went back to watch the tape that I learned that it was Mr. Vain who attacked me. Now I hear that President Corey has signed Mr. Vain to an SMW contract. Now I have two people gunning for me, and even I am smart enough to realize that two-on-one is not a disadvantage that I want to have to worry about. That’s why I have decided that I need someone who can watch my back. I need someone who I can trust to be there for me if I need him. Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you, Satan’s Son.
(“Inner Vision” hits and Satan’s Son makes his way to the ring. He walks up to Max Ogden and the two embrace.)
Ogden: This man has been with me for as long as I can remember. I would give my arm for him, and he would do the same for me. That is why he is here. Violent P, Mr. Vain, bring it on, because we will be waiting for you.
(“Inner Vision” plays as Max Ogden and Satan’s Son leave the ring with the security guards.)
Dan Wilson: Well, it looks like Max Ogden is ready for whatever it is that Mr. Vain and Violent P have in store for him, because now he has backup.
James Robinson: Yeah, but we don’t know how effective Satan’s Son is going to be. I for one have never heard of him, and I don’t think that anyone other than Max Ogden has either.
(President Joe Corey is shown walking down a corridor, pushing a tumbler.)
Wilson: Only time will tell, as it will for the Lethal Lottery. As you can see, President Corey is making his way to the ring, and we are only seconds away from learning what the teams are going to be next week. Don’t go anywhere!
Commercial Break
(Don’t miss the “Hunt in October” as it continues with the ALCS and NLCS, exclusively on FOX)
(The ring is covered in a red carpet, with a table near the corner and a gold tumbler on it. “Lying From Me” hits and President Joe Corey makes his way to the ring.)
Joe Corey: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to determine what the teams are going to be next week when we kick off the Lethal Lottery tag team action! Now, I realized after last week that it may be a little hard to follow how the matches are going to progress, because it is hard to figure out a bracket for a tournament with eighteen people in it. To be more specific, inside of this tumbler, I have the names of sixteen of the men who will take part in the Lethal Lottery. The other two men have already been paired together, and they are going to receive a first round bye in this tournament. Also, the last two teams that I announce will not only face off next week, but they will be fighting for the chance to receive a bye from the second round. What that means is that the winners of that match will go directly to Battle Bowl. Now, it is time to determine what the…
(“Always” plays and Commissioner Austin Plavljanich comes power walking to the ring.)
Austin Plavljanich: Okay Corey, what other rules in this thing are you going to change? You told me that there were going to be eighteen men who would be paired up at random tonight. Now you are saying that there are only sixteen, and that two of them are already together. What are you trying to do, give one of these teams an edge?
Corey: Mr. Commissioner, I am not announcing the names of these two men because they are a surprise team. Also, one of two men has only recently been signed to SMW, and I want to hold his debut off until the supershow. Now, if you do not trust me that the rest of these teams are going to be drawn at random, then you can stand right here and watch me draw the names, and you can see for yourself.
Plavljanich: You know what, I am going to take you up on that offer. On top of that, I am going to draw out the first two names if you don’t mind?
Corey: Be my guest Commissioner.
(Commissioner Plavljanich turns the crank of the tumbler and spins it a couple times before he reaches in and grabs two balls. He pops the top off them and grabs the pieces of paper inside.)
Plavljanich: The first two men who will team up are…Xavier…ha ha ha, and Shannon Moore. (Austin reaches in again and grabs two more balls) They are going to take on Slater Vain and…Scott Norton.
Corey: Moving to the next match, Matt Stryker will team up with Ted Huntsman to take on, (reaches into the tumbler and grabs two names) Max Ogden…and Violent P?
(The crowd stands in disbelief that the two sworn enemies are going to have to team up.)
Plavljanich: In the next match, Mr. Vain will team with Bryan Clark to take on Spencer Hollywood and… (looks at the second paper) Steve Bradley, yes!
Corey: Congratulations Commissioner, now you have both of your boys together, so you have no reason to feel that I separated them on you, because you picked out their names.
Plavljanich: You’re damn right I did!
Corey: And in the final match, where the winning team will receive a bye to Battle Bowl, Chris Sabin will team with (reads the second paper) Mariner. They will take on (grabs the final two balls) Brian Adams and Satan’s Son. Ladies and gentlemen, those are the teams that you will see next week, and right after this break, we will return with our SMW Television Championship match!
Commercial Break
(Be sure to see the TWF’s memorial show for Cory Rodriguez, more details to come)
Dan Wilson: We are back fans, and in case you missed it, we are going to rundown the matches that you are going to see right here on Aggression next week.
James Robinson: First off, two men who have no love loss for each other, Xavier and Shannon Moore, are going to go up against Slater Vain and Scott Norton.
Wilson: And then we have Matt Stryker teaming with “The Submissions Man” Ted Huntsman, and they will be going against the tandem of Violent P and Max Ogden!
Robinson: And explain to me how in the world those two are going to work as a team?
Wilson: They aren’t the only ones who are going to have a problem going into their match next week as a team. It is no secret that Shannon Moore and Xavier do not like each other, and Shannon Moore has made it no secret that he wants the SMW Championship back. And now for him to do that, he has to be able to work together, not only once, but twice.
Robinson: One team that is going to be able to work together, as full-time tag team, Spencer Hollywood and Steve Bradley, are going to be teaming up against Mr. Vain and Bryan Clark.
Wilson: And in a match where the winners will go directly to Battle Bowl, newcomer Satan’s Son will team with Brian Adams to take on Mariner and the man who defeated him for the SMW Television Championship, Chris Sabin!
Robinsons: And speaking of Chris Sabin, it is now time for our Television Championship match. For those of you who didn’t see Aggression last week, here is why Michael Modest is receiving this title shot tonight.
(A highlight reel of Michael Modest’s match last week against Carly Colon is shown. The match ends with Modest hitting the “Modest End” and picking up the win. It ends with Modest raising the hand of Carly Colon. When the video ends, Mariner is seen sitting at the announce position with Dan Wilson and James Robinson.)
SMW TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Michael Modest vs. “The Future” Chris Sabin (c)
Chris Sabin goes to take an early advantage by charging at Modest at the opening bell, but Michael is able to use his momentum against him and powerslam him to the mat. Sabin kicks out immediately, before the referee is able to count to one. Modest locks Sabin in an armbar, and “The Future” does his best to keep Modest from being able to extend his arm, but eventually Modest is able to sit back and apply more pressure. Sabin screams in pain, but is able to reach the rope with his other hand. Modest grabs Sabin’s head and lifts him up off the ground, but Sabin buries an elbow into the midsection of the challenger. Sabin then runs to the ropes and comes off with a jumping calf kick to Modest’s chest. Sabin goes to the top rope and connects with a flying cross body, but he only gets a two count from the referee. Sabin goes back up to the top rope, where he comes off for a hurricanranna, which is countered by Modest into a powerbomb. Modest looks to be going for the kill, as he picks up the champion for the “Modest End”. Sabin is able to maneuver himself from the grip of Modest, and he school boys the challenger. The referee only counts to two, and Modest tries to surprise Sabin again with the “Modest End”, but Sabin is able to shift his weight, land back on his feet, and hit the “Future Shock” for the victory.
Winner: “The Future” Chris Sabin
Dan Wilson: A valiant effort by Michael Modest, but it wasn’t enough to wrestle the title away from Chris Sabin, who remains undefeated here in SMW!
James Robinson: It was a great match, and now Sabin will move on to the Lethal Lottery next week, with Mariner as his partner. Do you think that you two can work together next week to advance to Battle Bowl?
Mariner: The point of Lethal Lottery is to get a shot at the SMW Championship. If that means working together with the man who took my title, so be it. He can have the Television Championship, because he is going to be my stepping stone to bigger and better things.
Wilson: Thanks for your time Mariner and good luck next week in your tag team match. Now folks, it is time for this week’s update on former SMW President, Joe Diano, who is training to become an active wrestler.
HIGHLIGHT PACKAGE OF DIANO IN A TRAINING FACILITY IS SHOWN. DIANO SEEMS TO BE BECOMING COMFORTABLE WITH HIS ABILITY.
Commercial Break
(TWF Rampage presents Doomsday, featuring “The Show” Joe Corey defending the King of Cable Title against Carney, and if Carney loses, he must be demoted to SMW)
James Robinson: Welcome back everyone and we are about to see the former SMW Champion, Shannon Moore, in action. But before we get to that, let’s go back to last week and see why Spencer Hollywood requested this match.
(Footage from last week’s eight-man tag match is shown, ending with Shannon Moore pinning Spencer Hollywood.)
Shannon Moore vs. Spencer Hollywood
Right off the bat, Steve Bradley starts to walk down to ringside. Shannon Moore directs his attention to him, and Spencer Hollywood attacks him from behind. Hollywood would go on to dominate the match for the next five minutes, eventually distracting the referee so that Steve Bradley could get in a few shots on Moore. Spencer goes to measure up Shannon Moore, but Moore ducks and hits a big dropkick on Hollywood. Bradley jumps on the apron, and Moore goes to get him down as Hollywood charges at him from behind. Shannon senses Hollywood’s presence, and he moves out of the way, causing the partners to collide. Shannon then rolls up Spencer from behind and picks up the win.
Winner: Shannon Moore
Dan Wilson: Another win for Shannon Moore, and now he goes on to next week when he will team with Xavier to hopefully move on in the Lethal Lottery to determine a new #1 Contender to Recon Rage, who won the title from Moore a few weeks ago!
James Robinson: And as Shannon gets back to the locker room, Spencer Hollywood is still in the ring, obviously angered for not picking up that win. For him however, he is teaming with his normal tag team partner, Steve Bradley. That is going to make it a little easier for them to advance, because they already have experience as a team. All of the other teams do not have that luxury.
(Backstage, Shannon Moore is walking back to his locker room. He turns the corner and standing right in front of him is Xavier, who will be his tag team partner next week.)
Shannon Moore: Jesus, lurk much?
Xavier: The last time I checked, this was a public hallway, not the Shannon Moore express lane.
Moore: You got something you want to say? Just say it, don’t BS around.
Xavier: I don’t think it is BS. It is no secret that neither of us is happy about having to team together next week, but in order for me to take on Recon Rage, then I guess I have to deal with you being in my corner.
Moore: Let’s get one thing straight. I am not in your corner. The only reason that I am going through with this is because it is the only way for me to get my title back. The way I look at it, I am going into a three-on-one handicap match next week, and I intend on walking out the winner.
Xavier: So that’s how it is going to be, huh? Damn everyone else as long as you get your title shot?
Moore: You’re damn right. And if you got a problem with it, why don’t you do something about it.
Xavier: Maybe I will…
(Xavier then pushes Shannon Moore, and the two are about to go at it until security shows up and separates them. That is when Commissioner Plavljanich shows up.)
Austin Plavljanich: Hey, that is going to be the last time that you two get that close to going at it! That’s because I am going to make sure that it is! From this point on, if you two do not work as a team, then you will be suspended indefinitely! Not only that, but I will do my best to make sure that you are fined and eventually terminated! With that, good luck next week boys!
Commercial Break
(“Team America” now in theatres)
Dan Wilson: Folks, it is just about main event time, but man have we had one hell of a night. So far we have had a debut from “The Submissions Man” Ted Huntsman, the first appearance of Satan’s Son, who Max Ogden brought in to counteract the signing of Mr. Vain to SMW, and we learned all of the teams for next week’s opening round of the Lethal Lottery. Some of these teams are going to benefit from prior experience as a team, such as Spencer Hollywood and Steve Bradley. Then there are teams that have no chance of working together, such as Violent P and Max Ogden. And then there is the team that has to work together or else they may be gone from SMW, and that is Shannon Moore and Xavier.
James Robinson: All of that is going to make for a great show next week. But now it is time for our main event, and the in-ring debut of Mr. Vain.
Mr. Vain & Violent P vs. Adrenaline
Violent P starts the match off with Chris Cage, who is unable to get the advantage in an early lock up. Cage goes to lock up again, but this time he rolls around to the back of P and connects with a German suplex. Cage makes the tag to Toland, who sends P down to the mat repeatedly with a pair of monstrous clotheslines. Toland runs again to the ropes, but he is hit in the back of the head by Mr. Vain. Toland stumbles and Violent P scores with a DDT. After a tag to Mr. Vain, the tide starts to shift. Mr. Vain goes on to overpower Toland, who tags in Cage, who has no better luck. Violent P enters the ring, which brings Toland back in, and a four way brawl ensues. In the course of the brawl, Mr. Vain and Toland end up on the outside, where Mr. Vain takes Toland out with a vicious chair shot. Inside the ring, Violent P connects with a Pedigree and picks up the win for his team.
Winners: Mr. Vain & Violent P
Dan Wilson: An impressive victory for the team of Mr. Vain and Violent P. These two men are going to be a dominant team here in SMW from the looks of it, and they seem to be ready for next week’s Lethal Lottery.
(From the back, a group of security guards are trying their best to keep Max Ogden and Satan’s Son from reaching the ring, but it is to no avail. The two run into the ring and a four man brawl ensues. Security tries to separate them, but the four men start to take out the security. Violent P and Max Ogden back up and bump into each other. They both turn around and start to swing, but they both pull back. They stare into each other’s eyes as the shot closes in.)
Dan Wilson: These two men will have to team up next week if they want a chance to become the SMW Champion. We’ll have to wait and see what happens, see you next time!
