J.R.:"Sixteen matches in all are scheduled including the last match of the great Bret Hart's career"! FOOTAGE IS SHOWN OF MOLLY HOLLY AND "HIGH OCTANE" DAMION WEST HAVING DINNER AT A RESTAURANT WHEN A BRAWL STARTS BETWEEN HE AND DYLAN JANSENS. "IT's MY LIFE" BY BON JOVI HITS AS DYLAN JANSENS COMES OUT TO A FAIRLY GOOD POP. Lawler:"We're gonna start with TWF vs. SMW". J.R.:"This man Dylan Jansens is a native of France and he has a ton of wrestling ability. High Octane better not overlook him tonight". "HIGH OCTANE's" MUSIC HITS AS HE AND MOLLY HOLLY COME OUT. Lawler:"Come on J.R., let's get serious, he's not gonna beat High Octane". J.R.:"I like Jansens' abilities and I think he'll be part of our roster someday. High Octane has to stay focused". "High Octane" Damion West vs. Dylan Jansens This one was all Jansens. The SMW newcomer caught High Octane off gaurd, catching him with a nice powerslam. He got near falls after a double underhook powerbomb and a bridge german suplex and he kept the pressure on non-stop, attacking West's knees throughout. Jansens then went up to the top rope and attempted a cross body block but High Octane reacted quickly, countering with a dropkick to the solar plexes. After a spinning neckbreaker, West motioned for Molly to get on the top rope but she refused. Jansens then reversed an irish whip and High Octane went flailing into Molly who was up on the apron. Jansens planted West with a ddt as he turned around and then used a sideways thumb gesture to the crowd. The Turkey fans responded with a thumbs up sign and Jansens locked in the Dragon Stretch, his patented finishing hold and High Octane tapped out. Match Time: 5:08 Lawler:"No way! How'd he do that"? J.R.:"Well Molly had a lot to do with it, albeit unintentionally". AFTER EXITING THE RING, JANSENS HELPED MOLLY TO HER FEET AND WALKED BACKSTAGE. Lawler:"You sure about that J.R."? BACKSTAGE.... SCOTT STEINER AND "TOO HOT" TAYLOR COME THROUGH THE ENTRANCE DOORS AND THE CROWD IMMEDIATELY BOOS. J.R.:"What are those two doing here? They don't have a match". Turkish Tournament 1st Round Matt Hardy vs. Brock Lesnar Matt struggled in a mat war with the 2000 NCAA amatuer champ until catching him with a flying clothesline and a legdrop off the middle rope. But Carney came down the aisle and began yelling at Stacy, who came out with Matt. Matt caught eye of this and Stacy slapped Carney across the face but Lesnar came from behind with a bridge german suplex to score another one for SMW. Matt was furious as Carney left, holding his right cheek but smiling. Match Time: 3:50 Muta vs. Essa Rios This was a great back and forth contest between 2 very different superstars and styles. Both men had oppurtunities to win it but after Rios missed his top rope moonsault, Muta used a northern lights suplex to win it. BACKSTAGE MICHAEL COLE IS STANDING WITH TERRY FUNK WHO GETS A HUGE SHEER WHEN PICTURED. Michael Cole:"Nice to see ya Terry, quite a night for you and your family tonight. Not only does your brother Dory have a match tonight, but you and Nails are gonna go at it in what is now a Steel cage Texas Death match". Terry Funk:"Well, it doesn't matter what type of match it is, cause I've done it all. It's gonna be great to see Dory team with Jordan tonight, those two go way back. But so do you and I Nails and when I get you in that cage tonight, I'm gonna beat ya like I used to boy". Turkish Cup Tournament 1st Round Bahamut vs. Masa Chono The fans were really into this very physical battle. Both men hit high impact moves, trying to end it in one shot but near the end, Chono got a few near falls, including watching Bahamut kick out after the Mafia kick. Suddenly, Bahamut ducked a clothesline and hit a full nelson german suplex out of nowhere to get the pin. Match Time: 10:25 Chris Benoit vs. Ahmed Walker Benoit came out with his new NWO based attack and was more aggressive than ever, putting this one away quickly. Walker was successful in avoiding the Crossface but after swingly errantly with a clothesline, Benoit kicked him in the stomach and used a fisherman suplex to pick up the win. Match Time: 2:12 BACKSTAGE.... Johnathan Coachman:"Drew Blood, if I may ask, how do you justify attacking Vlad the Impaler the way you did with that kendo stick on RAW"? Drew Blood:"Stupid question. Why? Because there's nothing I hate more than Hardcore wrestling. Ya see, many of you might not believe it, but I am a guy who wants to see the traditional, let the best man win type of matches. I don't believe there's any place for Hardcore wrestling and this punk Vlad is trying to force it on people". Coachman:"Well Drew, it's no secret that he got a win over you on Saturday Night's Main Event not too long ago". Drew Blood:"Yeah, and it took a shot to the head with a kendo stick to do it. Vlad, you like hardcore wrestling so much? Well at Code Red, you may not get a hardcore Drew Blood, but I gaurantee what you'll see will be very disturbing. What I do to you will be very demented. We'll see who's hardcore then". TWF Women's Title Match Challenger... Terri Gold vs. Cammie Copeland This was a great women's match and one of the best all night. Cammie dictated the pace early as she fought Gold off with repeated kicks to the body and arms. She got very near falls after a missile dropkick off the top rope and a victory roll. But the longer the match went on, the more it shifted Gold's way as she fought her way back into it and after a beatiful flying headscissors takedown, she hit Cammie with a top rope moonsault followed by the "Gold Mine" to finish her off and win the title again, disappointing many of the fans who were there just to see Cammie. FOOTAGE OF THE MATCH BETWEEN WILLIAM REGAL AND SUPERFLY JIMMY SNUKA FROM KING OF THE RING 2001 IS SHOWN. William Regal vs. Superfly Jimmy Snuka Regal tried to overpower Snuka with hard forearm shivers and seemed intent on beating Snuka quickly. But Snuka countered with pinpoint knifedge chops and an arm wrench hook kick. Regal got back into it with a double knee to the head but when he missed a wild right hand, Snuka used a go behind into a bridge rollup and Regal couldn't kick out of the impossible predicament. Regal was furious and walked backstage quickly, avoiding the heckling crowd. But Snuka stayed for awhile, standing on the turnbuckle and basking in the victory as his signature theme music played. Match Time: 3:42 BACKSTAGE.... LILIAN GARCIA HAS CAUGHT UP TO THE NEW WOMEN's CHAMPION TERRI GOLD. Lilian Garcia:"Terri, you had to come all the way to Turkey, but you did it, you are once again the Women's champion". Terri Gold:"This feels good Lilian and Cammie, you were a great champion and I'll tell you and anyone else that wants a shot at this, all you gotta do is ask". TERRI GOLD PUTS A TOWEL AROUND HER NECK AND WALKS AWAY WITH THE BELT. Turkish Cup Tournament: Semi-Finals: Brock Lesnar vs. Muta Lesnar, who contemplated wrestling in Japan at one time, battled against Muta's martial arts attack, slowing the pace down with fireman's carries and leverage takedowns. But after dodging a roundhouse, Lesnar caught Muta's leg and hit him with a capture suplex. Hayabusa ran out and went to the top rope, attempting a flying spin kick but Lesnar moved and Muta turned right into it. Lesnar then grabbed Hayabusa and tossed him to the floor and hit a dazed Muta with a german suplex to pull what may be considered the upset of the year. Match Time: 7:40 BACKSTAGE Michael Cole:"Rob Van Dam, you seem pretty confident tonight but in just a few hours, you're gonna have to put that Hardcore title on the line against one of your all time greatest adversaries, Sabu, a man who's not even in the TWF". Rob Van Dam:"First off dude, it's easy to be confident when you're (crowd chants with him) Rob Van Dam, but nah, I ain't gonna sweat Sabu. Yeah he's a tough competitor but I know his weaknesses and at the end of the night, the only thing he'll be doing is counting the lights here in the Turkey arena". Turkish Cup Tournament: Semi-Final: Chris Benoit vs. Bahamut Benoit came out and caught Bahamut with a few knifedge chops and his set of german suplexes shortly into the match. He then locked in the Crossface but Bahamut made a determined crawl to the ropes to break it after withstanding it for over 1 minute. Bahamut came back with a boot to the face off an irish whip and a hard full nelson slam. Bahamut then whipped him into the ropes but Benoit ducked a clothesline. Benoit came off the other side and Bahamut stuck his arm out for another clothesline attempt but Benoit grabbed hold of it and grapevined it. He then used a crucifix and got a quick pin to advance to the final. Match Time: 4:17 JUSTIN SANE's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO A MIXED REACTION. IN HIS RIGHT HAND IS A MICROPHONE. Justin Sane:"Scott Taylor, I saw you come here tonight and I know you don't have a match but I figured we could add a little something to our match at Code Red. Ya see Taylor, I didn't have everything handed to me like a lot of these guys have. I made my way into this business in backyard wrestling. Ya know, make shift rings, a few foreign objects here and there, friends and relatives at your house to watch you perform. But Taylor, Code Red is in my backyard, my hometown of Detroit and I wanna challenge you to a backyard style match. So if you got the balls, which I know some would question, come out here and accept". SCOTT TAYLOR's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE. Scott Taylor:"That's very amusing Justin, a backyard wrestling match. I suppose Grandma Edna and the old retarded Uncle Elmer are gonna be there to cheer ya on too. Well Justin, I accept your little challenge and we'll find out just who is insane". TAYLOR WALKS BACKSTAGE AND JUSTIN SANE SEEMS VERY SATISFIED.
Jordan Rockwell and Dory Funk, Jr. vs. The Rock 'N Roll Express This was a great match for the fans. It had all the Rock 'N Roll Expresses' classic double teams as they worked on Rockwell, who worked most of the match in favor of Funk. But there were also some great camera shots of Funk looking on at the man he helped groom into a top notch superstar. Finally, after a double clothesline, Rockwell tagged in Funk and the crowd came to their feet as he hip tossed both men and clotheslined Ricky Morton out of the ring. Funk made the tag back to Rockwell who came in and took on both men, hitting Morton with a powerslam and Robert Gibson with the Rock Smasher. Rockwell had the pin on Gibson but Scott Taylor was suddenly at ringside in the face of referee Jim Corderis. But then, Scott Steiner entered the ring from behind and nailed Rockwell in the back of the head with his metal bar. Gibson rolled on top of him as Coderis turned and counted the fall. Rockwell was out as Steiner then attacked Dory Funk and put him in the "Steiner Recliner" as the crowd became quite hostile. Match Time: 9:27 CODE RED PROMO IS SHOWN Hawk vs. Strife This was a very physical match that saw a lot of action outside the ring as Hawk planted Strife with a nasty looking ddt on the floor. But Strife, obviously one of the toughest guys around, got right up and whipped him into the stairs. Strife waited for Hawk to get back into the ring and when he was on the apron, Strife tried to suplex him back in but Hawk fell on top of him and Animal held Strife's foot down so he couldn't kick out as Hawk pulled off the upset. Afterwards, Strife continued the fight with Hawk when Animal came in from behind to make it 2 on 1. Suddenly, Bahamut ran out to a huge ovation and caught Animal with a running boot to the face as Strife drilled Hawk with the "Wrong Destination". "Bombshell" by Powerman 5000 hit as Strife and Bahamut held their tag team titles in the air aas the crowd was at one of it's loudest points all night. BRIEF BREAK FROM THE ACTION AS FOOTAGE OF TOMMY RICH's RUN IN WITH TRAVIS WAKEMAN A FEW MONTHS AGO ON RAW IS REPLAYED. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat w/Tommy Rich vs. Travis Wakeman w/Trish The energy was high in this one and it stayed that way all match. Wakeman couldn't get into his normal rhythum as Steamboat had him well scouted and looked like he was still in his prime. Steamboat used his quickness to avoid a mat war with Wakeman, hitting him with a vicious kick to the head much like Tajiri's and a flying cross body off the top rope. With everything going Steamboat's way, Trish got up on the apron and in referee Mike Chioda's face as Wakeman delivered a samoan drop to Steamboat and locked in the Sharpshooter. Steamboat was tappin' out but Tommy Rich came into the ring and hit Wakeman over the head with a steel chair. Steamboat then used a mandara hineri to score the pin as the crowd came unglued. Match Time: 11:26 Steel Cage Texas Death Match Terry Funk vs. Nails Funk came out to Cactus Jack's old theme to a great pop. The ring was scattered with weapons and Nails wasted no time beating the hell out of his former mentor. He hit him with a garbage can 8 times and a hard piece of wood from under the ring before Funk landed a superkick. Hanging in the corner of the cage was a chainsaw. Funk grabbed it, turned it on and psychotically charged Nails. But Nails moved and hit Funk in the back with a 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire. Nails pulled out a table and took all the wire off the 2x4 and wrapped it around the table. Funk tackled Nails and rammed him into the cage. He began to climb but Nails followed. About halfway up, Nails caught him and a duel occured with Nails knocking Funk off and through the wire table! Nails climbed the rest of the way out after peering down at Funk for a delayed period of time to win the match as a hush came over the crowd. About 5 minutes later, Funk demanded the EMT's leave the ring and he walked off under his own power to a standing ovation. Turkish Cup Tournament Final Chris Benoit vs. Brock Lesnar Lesnar came out and shocked everyone, trying to put Benoit away fast as he suplexed him all over the ring. But after ducking a clothesline, Benoit dropkicked him in the kneecap and broke Lesnar down from there. Lesnar continually blocked the Crossface but after reversing an irish whip to the corner, Lesnar hit the steel post shoulder first when he charged in and Benoit immediately went to the top rope and hit his diving headbutt. He followed that with a fisherman suplex for the 1.....2....3. After the match, fellow NWO members William Regal and Nails came down the aisle as Benoit was presented with the Turkish cup. Then, in one of the most dispicable acts in wrestling history, Regal handed Benoit a can of spraypaint and he covered the cup with the letters N-W-O as the fans were livid. Match Time: 5:17 CLIPS OF SOME RVD-SABU MATCHES FROM ECW ARE SHOWN. TWF Hardcore Title Match Challenger... Sabu vs. Rob Van Dam RVD survived and that's about it as this was without question the best match all night. The fans were rockus for this one as the action was non-stop. Both men hit most of their sinature moves and RVD had one series when he hit Rolling Thunder, a spinning heel kick and a backflip into a shoulder block in succession followed by a spinning legdrop but he could only keep Sabu down for a 2 count. As the match drew to a close, it was a dead heat until Sabu found a singapore cane underneath the ring after dropping RVD with a double underhook implant ddt, something many had never seen. But when he came into the ring with it and tried to swing it, RVD kicked it right into his face with the Van-Daminator. That led to the "5 Star Frogsplash" and the pin. After the match, RVD was given the Hardcore title and he went over to raise Sabu's hand but Sabu kicked him right in the mouth with a spin kick. Sabu picked up the belt and looked at it for a second before tossing it on RVD who was still down. Match Time: 14:12 A VIDEO PACKAGE DEPICTING THE HISTORY BETWEEN BRET HART AND SHAWN MICHAELS IS SHOWN. Iron Man Match Bret "Hitman" Hart vs. Shawn Michaels Both men started very passively , trying to wait each other out and playing a virtual chess match. Less than 10 minutes in, Hart caught a bad break when he twisted his ankle when he reversed an irish whip. Referee Earl Hebner asked him to stop but Hart refused. HBK took advantage, attacking the ankle quickly. The first fall came after HBK was hit with a superplex off the top rope but when they landed, Michaels grapevined Hart's leg and got a quick pin. Minutes later, Michaels scored with the "Sweet Chin Music" after a slingshot to the corner. The minutes were ticking and the match was seemingly over but with about 30 seconds left, Michaels tried a front dropkick off the middle turnbuckle but Hart took a step back and locked in the Sgharpshooter. Michaels tried to hold on until the clock ran out but he couldn't and tapped out with 5 seconds left. Michaels was declared the winner and he and Hart shook hands before Michaels walked away. Hart took a long look at the crowd as they came to their feet. A tear coming from his eye, Bret waved goodbye to his fans. OFF AIR......
