Some more musings from under the black resistol hat, on the morning after the greatest PPV in WWRF history.
I always feel a little sad the week after a PPV. You see I know we have to wait another month for a night like that and it won't be easy, but it will be made easier because of what looks to be in store. This Thursday for example, it is one of the best Smackdown cards I have seen in my time here. But don't expect it to follow the script, nothing here is at the moment.
Even our main event at no Mercy could not pass without incident, the Giantkiller Shane McMahon came out after The Rock had beaten Chris Beniot and Shane and Beniot set about repaying the Rock for the asswhooping he had handed out. This has led to many rumours about what Shane's return holds instore for the WWRF and the part he may of played in the kidnapping of Lita. Some people are even hinting at a return to the ring in the not to distant future to regain his Lightweight title, I am sure that whatever Shane has planned will be revealed soon enough.
This Thursday Beniot will once again be in action and no doubt he will have Shane O'Mac by his side. He is taking on Stone Cold Steve Austin in his return to the ring, Austin has been working hard over the last few weeks to regain his timing and looks ready for action on Thursday. But he will have a stiff task on his hands against the man that came so close to WWRF glory on Sunday night, even if Shane can keep out of it.
Talking of debuts, this Thursday sees the long awaited debut of the WWRF's latest signing Tazz. The human wreaking machine's first opponent is none other than Y2J Chris Jerico, it will be interesting to see if Tazz can justify the hype behind him and go onto big things here. Talking of Jerico, he has been making waves over the past week. We have seen the loyal and trustworthy Y2J toughen up his image and verbally attack the Rock on more than one occasion, this could lead to the first major dispute in the Alliances young history.
I have some news on a couple of injuries. Shawn Michaels, who is scheduled to fight on Smackdown, has broken down in training. A replacement for the match against Rikishi is being sought and the new return date for Shawn is not known, although it is thought we could see him again as soon as Survivor Series. Someone we won't be seeing back so soon is the big red machine, Kane. Kane is making a good recovery from the multiple injuries he suffered at Smackdown a couple of weeks back, but is not expected to return to the ring before The Royal Rumble in January. We all wish them both a speedy recovery.
Some of the young superstars of the federation are coming along nicely now. Early reports suggest that Crash Holly and Raven in particular have impressed, with Crash's timing and ring skills looking very sharp now you can expect him to be pushing for lower level gold over the next month. Raven has a big test this Thursday, he will be stepping into the ring with The Game. The Intercontinental champ is the perfect example of what these two young superstars want to achieve and will provide a harsh test for Raven.
We have new tag champions, the Outlaws have been dethroned. Please rise those damn Dudleyz. In a division that changes more than The Kat's hair the Dudleyz will have to be on their toes, especially since Shane has mentioned bringing a tag team into the Corporation. As the Outlaws fall from grace their friend Tori gets the chance she has been screaming out for on Thursday, a shot at the women's title. But this almost seems to be second rate without Lita. Foley has stated that he expects to of concluded his investigation into this by Smackdown and will reveal the culprit there. The sooner she is returned safely the better.
This week sees yet another meeting of The Undertaker and Kurt Angle. But now there is a big prize on the line, the winner will get a shot at the WWRF champion The Rock. Angle has been up and down just recently and will have to get some consistency if he is to challenge for the major honours in the WWRF. Taker on the other hand is becoming something of a fixture at the top of the rankings, but again the consistency is what is lacking. The only question is, is it their time to shine or will the Rock reign on.
That is all for this week
