Title:    The Villa
Author:   Nora Roberts
Publisher:   Berkley Publishing Group

Review by:  Tia Caliente

I normally do not read romance novels.  However, I make an exception for Nora Roberts.  She not only writes about the romance and passion that most of us only dream of, but she also combines it (very successfully, I might add) with intrigue and murder.

The Villa is no exception, and is one of her best.  Our main characters are Sophia Giambelli and Tyler MacMillan.  Both are the heirs to two successful wineries, who are being merged together.  Because their grandparents are married to each other, Sophia and Tyler have known each other for years.  But the professional relationship they are thrust into has signs that it will turn passionate very quickly.  When Sophia’s father is murdered, and then his replacement in the business is also murdered, it appears that someone has a vendetta against the Giambelli family, and is willing to do anything to destroy their good name and their business.

This is a story of love, and how a family sticks together during times of adversity.  Norah Roberts paints a very detailed picture of living on and running a successful winery.  I was surprised to find out who the murderer was of Sophia’s father.  This is definitely a book that is hard to put down.  The details of the murders are not too graphic, the sex is not too graphic and is very passionate.

I give this book 4 ½ stars and it is out in paperback.  This is a must read, as are all of Nora Roberts novels.  I plan on reviewing several of her books in the near future.
