Playing Sega Genesis my entire life and dominating anyone who got in my way in sports games such as NHL Hockey, NBA Live, FIFA Soccer, and Madden from EA Sports, I was a little skeptical trying a new video game system such as PS1/PS2. My skepticism turned to old times as I was blown away by the graphics of NBA LIVE 2001 from EA Sports. The video game industry has come a long way from Atari, Colecovision, and Intellivision. NBA LIVE 2001 starts out with probably the only poor feature of the game, Montell Jordan singing the theme song. Being able to press start and not hear that garbage made it tolerable. The setup and graphics were phenomenal. You can start at Rookie or All-Star level if you have the skills. You can create teams, trade, take on Micheal Jordan or NBA Legends 1on1 or 5on5 and try to beat them(it's not easy). You can also take you game outside to the blacktop for that old school feeling. The only thing hard for me was getting used to the Sony controllers. Too many buttons, just keep it simple. As for the game, it is excellent and I look forward to dominating the competition(if you call it that).
