In Dreams (Re-work)

By: Galixa !

Hunter Hearst Helmsley sat with his current partner Ric Flair looking through a family’s past trying to find anything to destroy his current opposition and constant pain Kane. Hunter had found an accident report involving a girl named Katie Vick but he wanted more. Giving up on Kane he turned to the stack of papers marked Paul Bearer. On the top he noticed something very peculiar, it was an adoption notice. He looked closer and realized that Bearer hadn’t adopted another child but put a child up for adoption, more specifically a month old baby girl. Ric sat absently leafing through the Undertakers pile till Hunter brought him back to reality.

“ Did you find any birth certificates?”

“ Only two.”

“ Let me see them.” Ric pulled them out and handed them to him. One was Takers, but the others was the mystery child’s. “ Ric get Paul Heyman on the phone I think we found something that he can use.”

Across the country in the suburbs of Los Angeles Renwick Whitmire sat in her Earth Science class fast asleep. Everytime she left that class she wondered where in the hell she was ever going to use it again. The bell jolted her back to reality, along with Mary Webber’s comments about how she was going to spend her weekend. Mary was the pinnacle of snobdem in school. Her dad was a big name producer meaning they were loaded. So she got to jet off somewhere exciting and exotic every single weekend. Something Renwick was not jealous of. Her parents were certainly not poor but they were less vocal about their wealth. Instead of driving a Mercedes like every other person in L.A they drove a ford, lived in a medium sized house, and ran an antique movie memoribla store in which Renwick did most of the dusting. She finally stood up pushing the last of her books into her bag when Mary stopped in front of her.

“ Hey string bean another exciting weekend in the world of junk?” Her little group let out a laugh.

“ Well at least people will always need junk. Unlike your family mine doesn’t have to depend on their next movie being a smash hit in order to get the nose job that you keep bragging about.” Renwick thru hit bag over her shoulder and walked out with a big smile on her face. Miles Sherman came running up to her as she shut her locker.

“ So what’s this I hear that my best friend in whole world has been commissioned by the school to paint a mural?” They walked out the doors towards home.

“ Yeah, another thing Mary Webber can make fun of me for. Instead of being dusty now I can walk around with paint splatters all over me.”

“ Ren you already do walk around with paint splatters on you. Besides Mary Webber won’t be a world famous artist someday.”

“ Miles just because I sold a few pieces doesn’t mean I’m famous.”

“ Did that Gallery not ask you to do another show? As I recall they were begging for more.”

“ Yeah and this weekend you get to help me take all the pieces down there. Just don’t tell my parents. They’ll ground me for life if they find out about this.”

“ Why?”

“ They think it’s selling out. I say it’s breaking even on supplies.”

“ You know what? I find it truly interesting that you have so much artistic talent and yet your parents can’t even draw a stick figure.”

“ Miles that’s a pretty common thing.”   Renwick walked up the stairs to her front porch and waved goodbye as Miles kept going. She pulled out her key and opened the door.

“ Hello?”

“ Hi honey… we’re in the living room.” She set her bag down by the door and walked in. “ Have a seat.”

“ I’m in trouble aren’t I?”

“ No there’s something we need to tell you. Something that we’ve been meaning to say for a long time now.”

“ What?”

“ Well sweetheart I’m sure by now that you’ve noticed some differences in our family.”

“ Like the fact that I’m close to six feet tall and you guys are under 5’5”?”

“ Yes, or that you have a wonderful artistic gift and we don’t.”

“ Or that we’re considerably older than any of the other parents around.”

“ Honey what we’re trying to say is that you’re not our child.”

“ We adopted you before we came out here.” Renwick sat there for a minute horrified.

“ Well if I’m not your kid then who’s am I?”

“ We don’t know.”

“ Then why did you tell me?”

“ Because we thought it would be better if you knew. We didn’t want you finding out the truth after we passed away or through someone else. This way we can answer any questions.”

“ Where did you adopt me from?”

“ A small firm in San Antonio, Texas.”

“ Do I have another name?”

“ No Renwick is your real name. But naturally Whitmire isn’t.”

“ Do you know anything about my birth family?” Renwick watched as her mother pulled out a small necklace and handed it to her.

“ This was around your neck when they gave you to us. The form said it was your father’s mothers.”

“ Why does it have ash in it?”

“ I’m not sure, but we wanted you to have it.”

“ Thanks. I think I’m going to head up to my studio for a little while.” She wandered up the stairs towards the attic and climbed into her makeshift painting studio. Instead of doing any work she sat on the floor look at the necklace fighting the tears from failing.

Taker felt something pang at his heart. For some reason he could figure out why. He always knew he had a deep connection with someone but he couldn’t figure out whom. He shrugged his shoulders continuing to get dressed unaware of the plan that was hatching on the other side of the building. Paul Heyman, Brock Lesner, Triple H and Ric Flair stood in an out of the way locker room talking. Paul Heyman was salivating over the adoption information.

“ How interesting that we find out that Taker’s got a long lost daughter as his current wife is ready to give birth. Now where to find her?”

“ We’re working on that. The guy that’s looking up the stuff on Katie Vick is also checking on the kid.”

“ Renwick, that’s such a unique name.”

“ It’s weird then again that family isn’t all there.”

“ I wonder if we could find her mother?”

“ Anything’s possible, just make sure that Ric and my names stay out of this. If McMahon catches wind of this then we’ll all be deadmen.

Back on the other side of the Arena…

Taker felt another feeling wash over him, instead of sorrow this was a feeling of unease. Something was up. His feud with Brock Lesner had escalated and Sara seemed to get nervous whenever he was brought up. To help ease the strain he had brought her with him but that had only made it worse.

Renwick sat staring out of the window for many hours. The house was the way she liked it, quiet. Finally ready to brave her family she came back down from the attic finding them all fast asleep. She crept into her room and over to her computer to find her lost past. She went out onto the Texas records carefully breaking into the system so she wouldn’t raise suspicion. Breaking in was the easy part, finding out who she was would be the hard part. She searched all night till close to 6 am. Then as if by magic she found what she was looking for. A man named Paul Bearer had placed her up for adoption. With in the file was her birth certificate but for some reason the information wouldn’t display. She gave up on that and began scouring the country for a Paul Bearer. To her surprise she only found one. He was currently living in Mobile. She had been smart enough to leave a note.

Kane sat with his head in between his hands wondering what Triple H would say next. Paul sat across the room from his son fearful of what would happen next. Both heard a gentle knocking on the door. After it was repeated Kane stormed up to the door ripping it open scaring the young woman who stood behind it.

“ What?!”

“ I um… I’m looking for a Paul Bearer. Is he here?”

“ Depends on who’s asking.”

“ Well this is going to sound really weird but I’m adopted and after some small hacking I found out that he’s my link to my family” Kane looked to his father who motioned to let her in. When she walked in Paul stood up giving her a strange look.

“ Hello there, did you come here by yourself?”

“ Yes sir, but my family knows I’m here.”

“ Have a seat. Forgive my son he’s had a bad week. I’m afraid I can’t help you much with the details of their lives, but as the town Mortician I’ll try my damndest to remember.”

“ My family’s not dead, at least I hope they’re not dead.” She began to dig through her bag looking for something. She pulled out a piece of computer paper that was all crinkled and torn.

“ Sorry I couldn’t get the originals. Mr. Bearer about sixteen years ago you put a baby up for adoption in San Antonio.” Kane watched his father get pale, and Paul felt as if his heart would stop.

“ That baby was me. I hope you could tell me about my birth parents.”

“ My dear I don’t believe I caught your name.”

“ It’s Renwick, Renwick Whitmire.”

“ Alright Renwick besides the print out do you have any proof?” She reached into her pocket and pulled out the necklace and handed it to him. Now Paul knew his heart was going to stop.

“ Dad are you alright?”

“ Yes just a past sin returning to haunt me. Renwick I want to explain a few things to you. Your family history for the past forty years revolves around one singular event, a fire. The woman that owned this necklace before you died in the fire along with her husband. They left behind two sons and one bewildered assistant. The assistant was me and one of the boy’s is my son, Kane. The other son is your father, and I’m not sure if you want to get mixed up with him. Now onto your mother, Mark, that’s your father started hanging around me when he got to be older.” Paul paused for a moment. “ Kane why don’t you go call your brother. I’ll wait till you get back to finish.” The larger man gave her a look before walking down the hall and out of earshot. “ I’m sorry but I don’t want him to hear who your mother was.”

“ Will it upset him?”

“ Yes you see her name was Katie Vick.”

Kane sat in his old room looking at albums trying to find different pictures. When he had the one’s he wanted he walked across the way to the guest bedroom and knocked on the door. When he thought he heard an answer he looked in. He saw her looking at a picture of her own. He cleared his throat making her look up.

“ Do you mind if I come in?”

“ No.” He closed the door and walked over to her sitting down on the other side of the bed from her. With his weight the bed sank to the point where they were next to each other.

“ I brought some pictures for you. I imagine you have a lot of questions. Just don’t hate your dad for what he did, I went down that road and I’ll tell you flat out that it’s easier to forgive than to hate.”

“ What did he do?”

“ He was the one who started the fire.” <

“ Why did he do that?”

“ Never got a straight answer out of him.” She picked up one of the pictures of them playing basketball.

“ Do you still play?”

“ No, after the fire I had to stop. The sun hurt my scars. But your dad might.”

“ Which one is he?”

“ The one with the ball.” Kane picked up the picture she was looking at before he had come in.

“ I take it this is your other family?”

“ Yeah.”

“ Where did you come from?”

“ Los Angeles”

“ You came half way across the country to see us?”

“ I had to. Why were you so upset?”

“ It’s nothing.”

“Ok scaring the living hell out of someone isn’t anything, you can tell me who am I going to tell?”

“ True, it’s a problem at work. Someone’s trying to discredit me.”

“ That’s not very nice. What did he say?”

“ He said I was a murder.”

“ How could he!”

“ Well there’s something that’s got me even more worried.”

“ What?”

“ You.”

“ Why me?”

“ Because in order for them to find out about the accident they’d have to dig through my and my fathers past. If Paul did put you up for adoption then I bet they found it.”

“ What makes you say that?”

“ Because the guy that’s trying to discredit my brother say’s that he’s got a secret from my brother’s past.”

“ No offense, but what kind of place do you people work at?”

“ Professional wrestling, but regardless of whether on not they do know about you I think it would be best to get you home.”

“ Who did they accuse you of killing?”

“ A good friend of mine.”

“ Did you?”

“ Not intentionally, I lost control of the car and slammed into a tree.”

“ You really cared about her, didn’t you?”

“ Yeah, she helped me go through therapy. How about you get some sleep and we’ll see about getting you home.” He started to gather up the pictures and stopped when she picked up the one of them playing basketball again.

“ Can I keep this?”

“ Sure.” He stood up nearly throwing her off of the other side of the bed.

“ Night.”

“ Good night sleep tight.” He shut the door and head back out to the living room to see Paul sitting there.

“ Is she asleep?”

“ Not yet, I want to take her home tomorrow. It’s not safe for her.” Paul shook his head and saw the pictures in his son’s hand.

“ Going through the photo albums?”

“ I pulled some pictures for her to see. You know so she’ll have a positive outlook of her dad.”

“ You told her he started it didn’t you?”

“ Yeah but she was more curious as to why then being upset. It’s interesting meeting someone that your related to that has been separated for all the hate.”

“ She’s a sweet kid. I’ll call Taker in the morning and tell him.”

“ What about Sara? Does she know that Taker’s got a daughter?”

“ No, he doesn’t like to talk about Renwick unless he’s forced to. The day I took off with her was the hardest day of my life.”

“ Why?”

“ Because she was the first person he ever totally cared for. He was fascinated by her I always wondered what he would have been like if I hadn’t given her away.”

“ You’re thinking he wouldn’t have turned to the darkness?”

“ I’m not sure.”

The next morning the three of them sat down to breakfast each silent for a different reason. Paul was worried about her safety, Kane was worried about his father, and Renwick had very few of her questions answered. Paul could see it in her eye’s but he kept his mouth closed not ready to divulge the information. He watched Kane load the car with Renwick helping him. Looking down at the ring in his hand he let out a heavy sigh before walking out onto the porch and calling Renwick over.

“ Yeah?”

“ I want to give you something.”

“ What?”

“ This.” He opened his hand to reveal a large silver ring with a fathomless black stone on top of it.” It belongs to your father. I’m not sure if he’ll remember the necklace but I know he’ll remember the ring. I’m going to call him after you two leave to let him know what’s going on. I’ll make sure he gives you some sort of heads up before he comes to talk to you. Kane will stay with you till you get home after that you’re on your own. If anyone asks you about the adoption deny it and get out of there.”

“ Ok I will.”

“ He’s ready stay safe.”

“ You too.” She took the ring and gave him a hug before running up to the car. Paul waved goodbye and walked back into the house picking up the phone as he went. Carefully dialing Taker’s cell phone he waited for the larger man to answer. When he did it took Paul a few moments to gather his thoughts before speaking.

“ Mark…” Taker froze he knew if Paul called him by his birth name then something was up. “ There’s a complication.”

“ What?”

“ Renwick.” Taker’s hand tightened and he shut his eyes. He had told Paul never to bring that name up to him again.

“ What about her?”

“ She was here. Kane’s driving her to the airport now. He’s taking her home. I’m afraid she’s in danger from Lesner and Heyman. I’d bet my soul she’s the secret they’ve got. You need to get to her. I doubt they’d hurt a pregnant woman, but a sixteen-year-old girl? You betcha.”

“ You have her address?”

“ Yup.” Paul read the address to him while Taker scribbled it down and then shoved it into his pocket before Sara could see it.

“ Alright Paul I’ll handle it. Alright I will bye.” Sara walked up as he finished.

“ What was that all about?”

“ He gave me the name of someone else that might be in danger.”

“ Who else?”

“ Someone from my past.” He stood up. “ I think I’m going to go for a little walk. I’ll be back in a little while you just rest.” He kissed her on the forehead and walked out.

Sixteen years of wondering, hoping, and searching. He had carried the memory of holding her tiny little form only a few times before she had disappeared. After Katie had given birth they had grown apart. Honestly he couldn’t remember why he had liked her. She had claimed she had other responsibilities and left Renwick in his care. After last week he had found out what those responsibilities were, his brother. Taker had placed his small daughter in his room to keep her out of the way, and so he could watch her. The night she had been brought home he had stayed up with her fascinated. She was so small to him but she seemed so strong. Then one night she was gone and Paul was cowering from him. For years he had tried to get what happened to her out of Paul. Taker had never forgiven him for that, and he never would. Now he had the chance to know her, see her, and ask her questions that had burned in his soul. When Sara had announced she was pregnant he had been surprised and worried all at the same time. He did not want to have a repeat of what happened with Renwick happen to this baby. How fortunate that the company was in L.A. Maybe it was fate personally he didn’t care. He just wanted answers. Driving to the airport he knew that their flight couldn’t have landed yet. Tracking down the gate number he sat there and waited patiently for a long awaited reunion.

Kane watched her sleep on the plane smiling. They were finally going to be a family, a real family. Both brothers had always known that there had been a missing member to their family. Who knew that the missing member would find them? Everytime he looked at her he thought she reminded him of some one he just couldn’t figure out who. Shaking his head he sat back enjoying the rest of the flight. When they landed Renwick seemed nervous. They got off the plane and Kane stopped dead in his tracks. Renwick bumped into him and looked around him curious to see what would make him stop. She saw a man standing in front of them. He was as tall as Kane with short red hair in jeans and a leather button down shirt. Renwick stepped out from behind Kane and gave him a look.

“ Who is he?”

“ My brother… and your father.” Renwick looked at him again.

“ My father?”

“ Yeah.” Taker stepped forward till he was right in front of them.

“ Kane glad to see you finally came back. I was getting worried. Who’s this?”

“ This is Renwick.” Takers heart soared for the first time in years.

“ Hello Renwick, nice to meet you.”

“ I think you mean see you again, dad.” Taker never thought one word could sound so beautiful.

“ Yeah guess I did.”

The three of them went to lunch talking about everything. Both Taker and Renwick had so many questions that each tried to answer to the best of their ability. Taker noticed a glint of silver hanging from a slim gold chain. He stopped talking and concentrated on it.

“ Can I see your necklace?”

“ Sure.” She reached back and undid the latch. Gathering it in her hand she handed it to him. His large silver ring was resting on a delicate gold pendant.

“ You’ve been to Paul.”

“ He told me you might not remember the necklace so he gave me the ring. If you want it back I’ll understand.

“ No you hold onto it. I think you’ll get more use out of it.”

“ It’s beautiful. Where did you get it?”

“ It was a gift, specially made.”

“ I love the detail work, and the stone it’s flawless.”

“ It’s onyx. The ring is from a period in my life that I’d rather not repeat.”

“ I think it’s safe to say that no one in the federation wants to repeat that period.”

The next day Renwick sat back in school listening to the same boring crap. Mary was still bragging about her weekend. Renwick had to laugh, in a week she had found her family, her real family and found out her safety was in danger. All of Mary’s little groupies were sending Renwick warning glances and glares and she chuckled to herself. This eventually caught Mary’s attention and she decided to do something about it.

“ Is there something funny about my fabulous weekend in Switzerland?”

“ Other than it’s utter bullshit no.” They all let out an incredibly audible gasp.

“ Oh and I suppose your week off was so much better? What happened did you inhale to much dust?”

“ Actually I went to a family reunion of sorts. Turns out there’s whole other side to my family that I didn’t know about. As far as inhaling to much dust that one should go to your father. I saw his latest movie when I got back. Tell him his characters were dull, the plot predictable and weak, and that I slept through the entire second half.

When school was over Renwick ran to her parents shop so she wouldn’t be late. When she got there she found it temporarily shut down so she took out her key and reopened it. About five minutes after she went inside two men walked in looking at nothing in particular. She slipped her apron on and walked out to greet them.

“ Welcome Faded Memories how can I help you?” She took note that the younger of the two men was huge.

“ We’re looking for someone maybe you can help?”

“ I’ll try who?” Paul saw the silver ring sitting on the gold chain nothing the taker symbols that decorated it.

“ The ring around your pendant where did you get it?” She thought for a moment before speaking.

“ Ebay”

“ I see well you see I’m looking for a Renwick Whitmire. She works in this store.” The larger man began to approach her.

“ You don’t by chance know her?”

“ Nope haven’t seen her.”

“ Funny because the picture I have of her looks exactly like you so either she has a twin or you’re lying about where you got that ring.” The larger man cornered her smirking.

“ So this is the big bad Undertaker’s kid huh? To bad she didn’t inherit her fathers courage I was kinda looking forward to seeing if she had her fathers athletic prowess.”

“ Tell me did your father tell you what ever happened to your mother?”

“ No he just said she lost interest in him.”

“ Well that’s partially true. She gained interest in your uncle and then your uncle killed her in a car accident ten years ago, which I believe he was telling you about the other day. So tell me what do you think of them now?”

“ Why are you doing this, what kind of horrible person does this to someone else?”

“ Your father has something that we want. He has little thing called a championship belt.”

“ You’re doing this for a stupid belt! Both of you are sick.” The one cornering her slammed her against the glass case causing the glass to shatter, severely cutting her arm.

“ Where’s your father now?”

“ Right here.” Both men turned to see the brothers standing in the doorway. “ How about the three of us take this outside?” Brock turned away from her smiling but Heyman stopped him.

“ I think we’ll wait till it’s one on one.” The brothers walked around the store till they were standing in front of Renwick.

“ Then I suggest you leave.” Heyman pushed Lesner out of the store. “ Kane called the paramedics.” He knelt down beside Renwick helping her take her now heavily bleeding arm out of the glass case. “ Do you have any towels?”

“ In the back…” She swayed a little causing Taker to steady her. Kane had heard her and was rushing to the back to find the towels. He came back a few moments later with some beach towels. He was telling the paramedics where to come while helping Taker tightly wrap her arm up.

“ I need to clean this up.”

“ No you sit right here till the paramedics get here.” They heard the sirens in the distance and gradually they grew closer till they were right outside. Taker began to move the racks out of the way so the gurney could be brought through. When she was loaded up Kane and Taker jumped into their rental and followed the speeding ambulance.

They sat in the waiting room pacing. An older couple came in looking worried.

“ Can I help you?”

“ Yes we’re Renwick Whitmire’s parents. We were told she was brought here?”

“ Ah yes, she’s being treated now. Those two gentlemen over there brought her in.” They turned to look at Taker and Kane. For a moment they looked a little frightened before walking over to them.

“ Hi there.”

“ Hello can we help you?”

“ We’re Renwick’s parents, we just wanted to thank you for saving her this afternoon.”

“ That’s a coincidence cause I’m Renwick’s biological father and this is my brother. He brought her home the other day.”

“ Oh then you’re the two gentlemen from Alabama?”

“ The other guy is Paul. He called me to tell me that Renwick had found him and Paul.”

“ Oh is he related to you all?” Kane looked at her.

“ He’s my father, it’s a very long story.” Renwick’s name was called and the doctor walked over to them. “ Mr. And Mrs. Whitmire?” They turned acting like the two huge guys behind them weren’t there.

“ Yes?”

“ She’s ready to go home now. Just needs to take it easy for a few days. She got a nasty bump on the head as well and is unsteady from blood loss but in a few days she’ll be back to her normal self.”

“ Great”

“ If you’ll follow me” They walked behind him checking to make sure Taker and Kane weren’t following them.

“ Now that’s a cold shoulder if I’ve ever seen one.”

“ I imagine they didn’t expect her long lost family to show up on their front doorstep.”

“ What do you want to do? This has to be the tip of the iceberg. Plus if Hunter gets in on it then she may be back here for more than stitches.”

“ I very seriously doubt they’ll let her come with us.”

“ This come from a man who used to kidnap virgins from their beds and sacrifice them to Vince McMahon.”

“ Kane, go to hell.” He started to laugh at his brother’s response to the ministry crack.

“ In all seriousness we need to figure out a plan.”

“ We’ll just go get her at school. I’ll arrange for a private tutor while she’s with us.”

“ You are going to return her aren’t you?”

“ Technically I can keep her. I mean the papers don’t have my signature so I can lay claim to her.”

“ Man don’t do that. See if you can work something out first. These people did raise her I’m sure she’s really close to them.”

“ Yeah when we go get her I’ll talk with her about it.” They watched her ‘parents’ walk out with Renwick. She waved to Taker and Kane giving them a weak little smile. The brothers waved back not stopping till she was out the door. They then headed out for their rental getting in and driving off.

“ Taker there is one other thing.”

“ What?”

“ How are you going to explain this to Sara? I mean you can’t just show back up with a kid who you haven’t seen in sixteen years.”

“ Why can’t I? She’ll understand.”

“ By the way what did you tell Sara?”

“ That I had unfinished business. Which I do.”

Kane boarded a plane heading back to work. Taker waited till the end of school to pulling up on a Harley in front of Renwick’s school. Mary and her group gawked at him. She decided to get closer sauntering up to him.

“ Nice bike.”

“ Sorry you’re not my type.”

“ How do you know?”

“ I know that I don’t want to get arrested for statutory rape.”

“ Then whom are you waiting for?”

“ My daughter.” A moment later Renwick and Miles stepped out. Renwick smiled when she saw Taker but it fell when she saw Mary talking to him.

“ Holy Crap do you know who that is!” Miles was about to freak.

“ Yeah and why is Mary talking to him?” Renwick walked up to him Mary giving her a disgusted look.

“ Hey darlin you ready?”

“ Yeah what are you doing here?”

“ You and I need to have a talk about the guys that hurt your arm.”

“ Your not her father! Her folks are old and crusty.”

“ He’s my biological father you twit. I’m adopted and I’d thank you not to insult my adoptive parents that way.” Renwick turned waving goodbye to a stunned Miles.

“ Put your books in the saddlebags. I don’t want them flying away.”

“ Ok” She shoved them in before climbing on behind him. Taker started the engine and peeled out of the parking lot leaving Mary covered in his dust. Renwick laughed as she disappeared from view and Taker let out a small chuckle. “ Where are we going?”

“ Somewhere quiet. What I have to talk with you about is very important.” They rode out of town heading for San Diego. About half way down they pulled over to a small bar and stopped.

“ This place doesn’t look quiet.”

“ It is. I know the owner and he’s opening it early for me so we can talk before everyone gets here.” Taker took the keys out of his pocket unlocking the door and ushering her in then shutting and locking the door behind himself.

“ There are bars in LA you know.”

“ All yuppies. Darlin I want you to come with me.”

“ To where?”

“ On the road.”

“ Won’t that bring me closer to them?”

“ Yes definite downfall, but it’ll be for a day and then I can take you to my house in Texas. You’ll be safe there.”

“ I’m sure they know where you all live.”

“ But they know where you are in LA. They know where you work, where your school is, and your house. They could easily show up at anytime and do more damage to you.”

“ What about Paul or Kane?”

“ What about them?”

“ Well not that I don’t appreciate the offer but they’ll expect you to take me home with you. But if I go with Kane or Paul they won’t be expecting it as much.” Taker rubbed his chin regarding her for a moment.

“ You’re right, and if you went with Kane that would keep you in a totally different city. I’ll call him and let him know your coming.”

“ Will he be ok with this? I mean he doesn’t seem like he likes… people.” Taker laughed.

“ He likes you, and I’m sure he won’t mind the company. Just don’t ask to see his face or mess with his mask. He gets a little testy about that other than that he’s pretty mellow.”

“ Can I ask you a question, about your past?”

“ Sure.”

“ Did Kane really kill my mother?”

“ Yes he did, but he doesn’t know that she’s your mom.”

“ Why not?”

“ It’s hard to explain.”

“ Try”

“ Your mom was the first person who wasn’t afraid of me or Kane. She fell for me, got pregnant with you and stayed till you were born. While she was pregnant with you she discover my brother locked in the basement and wanted to help him. After you were born she devoted all her energy to him. He fell for her and they were close until one night when they snuck out, and an animal jumped out in front of them. Kane lost control of the car and slammed into a tree. Katie died instantaneously.”

“ She just gave me up? Who took care of me?”

“ I did. I used sit up at night watching you sleep. You were the first person that ever needed me to totally survive.”

“ Why did you start that fire?”

“ Because I was young, stupid, and thought I could solve my problems through it. Regretted it every damn day of my life.” Renwick pulled the picture of Kane and Taker playing basketball out of her pocket and handed it to him.

“ I think you might want this more than I do.” He took it from her hand laughing a little bit.

“ Where did you get this?”

“ Kane gave it to me. Do you still play?”

“ Not to much anymore. Knees bother me to much.”

“ You think maybe when this is over you can teach me to play?”

“ Sure” He handed the picture back to her slightly smiling. “ You want something to drink?”

“ I don’t think I can drink anything in here. It’s all alcohol.”

“ Then we can go somewhere else.”

“ Dad…”

“ Yeah”

“ Are they really doing this all for a belt?”

“ Afraid so, not everyone in the wrestling business has the sense to stay away from people’s private lives.”

“ This is truly sick.”

“ Yeah but if it hadn’t had happened we never would’ve found each other.”

“ Yeah, did you ever try to find me before this?”

“ I looked for you all over the place after Paul took you to the adoption agency but by the time I found the place you were long gone and they weren’t about to tell me anything.”

“ Not recently?”

“ I looked whenever I could but it’s hard finding a person you know absolutely nothing about. I mean didn’t even know if they kept your original name or not.”

“ This family likes to keep secrets from each other don’t they?”

“ It’s easier to hide something than to explain everything.” A key turned in the lock startling them both. Renwick watched a gruff looking man walk in.

“ You about done boss? Crowds starting to show up.” Taker looked at his daughter.

“ We done?”

“ I guess so.”

“ Alright lets go.” They walked out Taker handing the man a couple of hundreds as they walked out the door. Renwick hopped on the back of Takers bike with him close behind. The usual “ crowd” was giving them some strange looks.

“ It’s ok, he’s my father.” They all nodded turning back to the door. Taker started the bike giving her a look. “ What?”

“ You’re going to be trouble, I can feel it.”

“ Trouble seems to follow this family.” They pulled out of the bar heading down to San Diego for the next show. Taker left her at his hotel not wanting anyone to risk her being hurt again. Heyman watched Taker pull up ready to strike. He walked up to him smirking.

“ Hello Taker how are you?”

“ Not in the mood to chat with you.”

“ I just wanted to check on Renwick. She was bleeding pretty bad.”

“ She’s fine, not very appreciative of your attack.”

“ Really?”

“ Yeah, see Paul she’s a whole other spectrum from Kane and I. She grew up away from us, away from the pain and the hatred.”

“ The apple usually doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

“ Unless the apple grows up away from the tree.”

“ Something tells me you’re keeping secrets from her. That you haven’t told her the whole story, or who you really are. Exactly how much about you and your brother does she know? How much of your dark period have you shown her?”

“ What I’ve done in my past was a mistake and I’ve paid for it.”

“ No I don’t think you have, not yet at least. Besides you’re not the only one with secrets.” Taker furrowed his brow at Heyman’s retreating back. Brock yanked Paul into a dressing room furious over what happened.

“ What are you doing? If he finds out he’ll kill me!”

“ Relax he won’t find out. She’ll keep her mouth shut just like we’ll keep ours.” Lesner nodded as he and Heyman walked out of the empty lockeroom towards their own.

Renwick sat watching TV unsure of what else to do. No one else was supposed to know where she was, or where she was going. Her father had left his cell phone behind for an emergency. She very much doubted calling home would be considered an emergency. Of course her adopted parents would flip is they knew where she was. After she had gone to the hospital they had a conversation about her staying away from Taker and Kane, or at least till they could get proof that the two men were related to her. After that she had no idea what would happen. The door unlocked and Taker came in limping.

“ Are you alright?”

“ Just old, call anyone?”

“ No, you think I can call my folks back in LA?”

“ Not right now.”

“ But if they don’t hear from me soon they’ll call the cops on you guys.”

“ They hate us that much?”

“ They just thought you’d be more… upstanding looking, and Kane totally freaked them out.” Taker got a good laugh.

“ What were you expecting me to be?”

“ Till I found Paul I thought you were dead. Then Kane told me a little about you and I didn’t know what to expect. Am I what you were expecting?”

“ Pretty much…just more…perky and energetic than I thought.”

“ Perky?”

“ No offense but you are.”

“ I am not! Just happy most of the time.”

“ Happy, perky same damn thing.” She gave him a playful punch in the arm. “ You hit like a girl.”

“ I am a girl.” Taker felt her arms.

“ You have no muscle tone. How are you supposed to stick up for yourself?”

“ I fight with words not fists. It’s not very lady like to get into fist fights.”

“ No getting in a nightly brawl isn’t lady like. Knowing how to defend yourself is useful. I’ll talk to Kane about teaching you some basic stuff.”

“ Will you tell me more about your past?”

“ Not tonight, come on it’s late and we’ve got an early flight.” She crinkled her nose at him as she took she shoes off climbing over to the other bed. He shut off the lamp grabbing his phone off of the nightstand.

“ Night Dad.”

“ Goodnight.” Taking his coat he walked out the door. With a few movements of his fingers he had Kanes number dialed.

“ Hello?”

“ I got her.” Kane looked at the clock groaning.

“ Jesus bro, you make it sound like a kidnapping.”

“ In a way it kinda is. We need to get hold of the people she lives with otherwise they’ll call the cops on us.”

“ Why can’t you do it?”

“ They don’t like me.”

“ And that’s my problem how?”

“ Well she’s coming to stay with you so I figured…”

“ She’s what? Did Sara not go for having her there?”

“ No but my place is the first place they’ll look. Plus since you’re on a different show you’ll be on a different schedule. Come on man do this for me.” Kane let out a sigh. “ She’s not going to bother you. She just needs a place to hide until this is over.”

“ Fine, she’s a sweet kid anyway. Probably wouldn’t hurt a fly. Y’all flying in tomorrow?”

“ Yup.”

“ Alright see you then brother.”

Taker walked through the airport keeping an eye out for anyone that might be following him or her. They got to the car heading out of Knoxville.

“ Can I call my family when we get there?”

“ Kane was supposed to have already called them but if he has or hasn’t I’m sure they won’t mind hearing from you.” They drove for an hour still not at their destination and Renwick was getting worried. Taker pulled off at an exit and they passed straight through the small town heading into the woods starting to head up a mountain.

“ Where on earth does he live?” Taker laughed at her tone.

“ Like me out in the middle of nowhere.”

“ Why?”

“ We like or privacy. No one comes looking for you when you live far away from any major cities.” Taker put his southern accent on.

“ This isn’t going to be like Green Acres is it?”

“ Well not really but the lady that lives down the road from him could be the pig.” Renwick started laughing. “ I’m serious she chases after Kane and I something awful.”

“ Like you mind the female attention.”

“ When it’s from the second cousin from one of the hillbillies in Deliverance I do.”

“ That is so mean!”

“ It’s true.” They drove by her driveway Taker looking to make sure they weren’t spotted. They finally pulled up to Kanes house seeing him step out of the front door.

“ There y’all are. Been getting kinda worried. Thought my neighbor got ya.”

“ You’d be hearing me yelling for help if she had.”

“ See you survived the trip Renwick.” She was scratching the bandage the covered her injured hand. “ Don’t scratch, you’ll pull the stitches out.”

“ But it itches.”

“ I’ve got some cream inside that’ll fix that.”

“ Lets get inside before what’s her head shows up.”

  You really don’t like her.”

“ Wait till you meet her.” The three of them walked into Kanes house. Renwick was surprised to see only a minimal amount of furniture and knickknacks. But the shelves were load up with books.

“ Where are her bags?”

“ Didn’t give her a chance to pack.” He pulled out some money handing it to Kane. “ Here’s some cash for her to pick up some stuff. Well kiddo I’ll see you in a few days.”

“ Ok.”

“ Don’t talk to anyone you don’t know.”

“ Then I guess I’m talking to just you guys.”

“ You call the family back in LA?”

“ They want her to comeback at once.”

“ You didn’t explain what happened, or what could happen?”

“ They wouldn’t listen.”

“ Let me try.” Kane motioned to the phone. Carefully picking it up she dialed home. She got two answers on the other end.

“ Hello?”

“ Hi mom, Hi … Dad.” Taker stiffened his shoulders a little and Kane just listened. “ Ok One of you is going to have to hang up. Ok Dad talk to you soon, bye. Mom I’m fine.”

“ Renwick Susan Whitmire where are you?”

“ Out in the middle of nowhere.”

“ Very funny know where are you so we can come get you?”

“ I can’t tell you where I am.”

“ Why not?”

“ Because those two guys will find me and do some damage.”

“ Did the two men claiming to be your family tell you that?”

“ Yeah.”

“ Honey I don’t think you should trust them.”

“ Why shouldn’t I trust them?” Kane and Taker both gave the other a knowing look. They knew why she couldn’t trust them. “ They’re both very nice.” Kane shook his head; they were anything but nice they were just putting up a front for her benefit. “ Mom you just have to trust my judgment.” Kane yanked his brother into another room concerned.

“ She’s setting herself up for a world of heartbreak.” Renwick finished her conversation with her adopted mother convincing her not to call the cops and that everything was ok. Renwick then walked to stand just behind the wall listening to Kane and Taker.

“ Why because she fully trusts us?”

“ Have you told her anything about us?”

“ Nothing more than what you already told her.”

“ Taker she needs to know the truth.”

“ Why? She doesn’t need to know all of that. As far as she knows I’m her father who’s made some mistakes and you’re her Uncle with a hard life growing up.” She stepped back not wanting to here anymore but she decided against it.

“ What about the darkside, the Ministry and the black magic or your wife who is carrying Renwick’s half brother or sister? Does she even know about that ring? That Paul gave it to her so she could give it back to you.”

“ She doesn’t need to know what it was.”

“ It’s part of what made you evil. You’re drawn to her because of the darkness seeping from that ring not because she’s your kid.”

“ No, she is the last person I’d hurt. Kane this is our chance at redemption. She doesn’t know who we are. Let her get close to us before we divulge any deep dark secrets. If we tell her now she may not understand.”

“ But by lying to her we’ll be setting ourselves in a trap. Heyman could tell her anything he wants. It’s not good she trusts people straight off. Someone will eventually take advantage of that.”

“ I need to head back to the airport.” Renwick heard them moving towards her so she rushed to the stairs sitting on the second one pretending to be waiting for them. They walked back out Taker giving her a smile. “ Get everything worked out?”

“ Yeah.” Her voice was very quiet.

“ I’ll call ya when I get home.”

“ Ok have a safe trip.”

“ I will darlin.” Kane notice the difference in her demeanor. She seemed…sad. His eye’s got wide, what had she heard. Taker turned to his brother. “ Take good care of her for me.”

“ I will.”

Taker waved goodbye to them as he drove off. Kane looked down at her.

“ How much did you hear?”

“ All of it. Is he really so terrible that he has to lie?”

“ No he’s afraid you won’t except who he was. Just like I’m afraid you won’t except who I was.”

“ You all are my family. I wouldn’t care what you were or what you did. That’s in the past and I’ll love you guys just the same.” Kane did something he never did. He leaned over wrapping Renwick in a big bear hug. He let go so she could get some air.

“ Come on inside and I’ll tell you every little thing you’d ever want to know.” They sat there for hours talking about different things. When Kane finished Renwick simply looked at him.

“ I have a confession of my own.”

“ What?” Kane was concerned.

“ Katie Vick was my mother.” Kane sat there slack jawed for a minute unsure of what to say. “ You’re not mad are you?”

“ No actually, but there may be something we need to have checked.”

“ Like what?”

“ Like if Takers your real father. Because when I first met Katie… she wasn’t pregnant.”

“ Oh crap.”

“ Yeah let me call the hospital and see if we can get a DNA test.”

“ Wouldn’t you brother your brother have to come back?”

“ No because if I’m not your father then Taker definitely is.”

Kane sat flexing his arm looking at the bandage. The nurses flitted around him smiling and waving. Renwick came out rubbing both her arms. One for the stitches that had come out the other from where they had drawn the blood for test.

“ I think I’ve ever been poked so much in all my life.”

“ Nothing like having a few tests done while you wait.”

“ Will they know the results today?”

“ Yeah” He trailed off as a nurse with a nice backside walked by. Renwick rolled her eyes at him. The doctor called them for them taking them into his office. They walked in nervously sitting down.

“ Well I have some good news for you two. Miss Whitmire your arm will heal just fine, Mr. Bearer here is your father.”

“ Um thanks Doc.” Renwick sat there shocked while Kane thanked the doctor. He had pulled her up out the chair getting her to the car and back home. Then both of them sat in stunned silence.

“ Taker’s going to be pissed.”

“ Paul’s going to be pissed. I don’t think he’s ready to be a grand father.”

“ We don’t have to tell them.”

“ Taker needs to know.”

“ Do you want me to call you Dad?” Kane turned and looked at her.

“ Yeah that’ll work. So what do you like to do?”

“ Paint”

“ Really?”

“ Yeah.”

“ Houses or Portraits?”

“ Portraits.”

“ Sold any?”

“ Yeah.”

“ Cool.”

“ So how do we tell your brother the news?”

“ Might want to wait till he’s been home for a few days. I’m sure Sara will want him to stay few days before flying out again.”

“ So he’s going to have another child?”

“ Yeah and Sara doesn’t seem too happy about this.”

“ How could she not be happy?”

“ I have no idea.

A dark figure handed the envelope of fresh information on Kane to Triple H.

“ There anything good?”

“ Yes.” Hunter flipped through the papers till he found a hospital report concerning a paternity test.

“ Renwick isn’t Taker’s kid?”

“ No she’s Kane’s.”

“ This was done in Knoxville. Are they still there?”

“ I’m not sure. His house is impossible to find.”

“ I’m not paying you to slack off, find them.” The figure nodded getting up and leaving. Ric Flair got up from the shadows wiping his brow shocked.

“ Are you going to tell Heyman?”

“ I think we should hold onto this one. Watch them and base our decision on that. But this also means that we can’t stir up a little trouble.” Flair smiled nodding in agreement.

At Smackdown Taker found a mysterious envelope left on his bag. He flipped it open finding the results of a paternity test.

“ Son of a bitch.” He crinkled the paper, pulling out a lighter and setting it on fire. He finished the show nearly destroying A-Train. Then without a word he drove to the airport and his brother. It was close to three am when he arrived. He banged on the door till someone answered it. Taker was ready to unleash his anger on his brother till he saw that Kane hadn’t answered the door, Renwick had.

“ Good God do you not know what sleep is?”

“ Where’s Kane?”

“ Asleep, he wasn’t feeling well so he went to bed early.”

“ I need to speak with him.”

“ Now?”

“ Yes now.” She moved out of the way letting him through the door. He tromped up the stairs straight for Kane’s room. Renwick rushed after him trying to stop him. The burst into Kane’s room waking him up Kane fumbled for his mask in the dark not wanting Renwick to see his face.

“ Oh Relax I’m not going to turn on the light.”

“ What are you doing here?”

“ Are you two hiding something from me?”

“ We haven’t had enough time too.” Taker looked at Renwick. Kanes voice came from the dark room.

“ Go back to bed. I know what he wants to talk about.”

“ Why, I’m the result of it.”

“ Now” She crinkled her noise and stuck her tongue out at him before walking back down the hall to her room. Taker glared into the darkness furious.

“ How could you do that to me!”

“ To you, I never told Katie to sleep with us both in the same night.” Both grimaced at the thought of that.

“ Well regardless we need to look out for her.”

“ Everything ok?”

“ Someone knows because they left the information on my bag.”

“ Crap.”

“ Look I’ll crash on the couch and we can talk in the morning.” They nodded before Taker shut the door. He walked past Renwick’s room seeing the light on he walked in. She looked up at him smiling.

“ Sorry I’m not your daughter.”

“ It’s cool.” She leaned over picking up something from the bedside table and holding it out to him.

“ What’s that?”

“ Your ring. I figured since I’m not your kid that you would want it back.” He pushed her hand away.

“ Keep it, probably will do you more good than it did me.”

“ But it’s evil.”

“ It actually reflects the traits of the owner so in your case it’s actually good. Now go onto bed, I’ll see you in the morning.” He walked downstairs crashing on the couch.

New

The next morning Kane came downstairs finding his brother sitting at the table reading the paper he sat down across from him clearing his throat.
“ Sleep well?”
“ Considering I was on your couch yeah.”
“ Renwick up yet?”
“ No, why you all going to do some father daughter bonding?”
“ Funny I wanted to talk to her about when we go to the show.”
“ Really, what were you going to tell her?”
“ Well it’s obvious someone knows, now the question is who?”
“ Heyman would’ve said something if he knew.”
“ You think its Flair and Trips?”
“ I think its been them from the beginning. The four of them have had have been working together from the start.”
“ So either show she goes too we’re screwed.”
“ Unless we take her back to her adoptive family. They won’t be expecting us to do that.”
“ But that’ll be the first place they look, along with Paul’s, your house and here. No matter what we do she will not be safe from them.”
“ We have to take that risk. Trips and Flair are twice as dangerous as Lesner and Heyman will ever be. We’ll just have to hope that their not to keen on meeting her in person.”
“ What about Sara, couldn’t we hide them together?”
“ No every time I mention Lesner she gets very nervous. It’d be best if I just left her where she is. Plus she’s due soon and I don’t want anything to jeopardize the birth.”
“ So we take her back to California.”
“ Yeah.”
“ And pray they don’t come looking for her.” The next day Renwick was back in California and grounded for a month for leaving. Not to mention the restraining order her adoptive parents had put on Taker and Kane. So now if she got in trouble they couldn’t save her, which made Kane physically sick to his stomach. School progressed slowly and Renwick seemed to block everything. She missed her father, her real father. She had started watching wrestling just to see them. It was worse then she could’ve ever imagined. What was worse was she couldn’t even communicate with her real family at all. The phone rang but Renwick didn’t budge, she didn’t hear her adoptive mother calling for her till she came in scowling at the wrestling.
“ First off turn that off. Secondly you have a phone call.”
“ Who is it?”
“ I don’t know he asked for you.” Renwick took the phone and turned off the t.v. Her mother walked out closing the door.
“ Hello?”
“ Renwick?”
“ Yes who is this?”
“ This is Paul Heyman do me a favor and say hello to daddy for me.”
“ What?”
“ I’m standing right outside your house, and this call is being broadcast on air so your father can hear it. Brock is going to be up in a few minutes to bring you down to say hello to America.” She hung up the phone and got up when she heard screams downstairs. Renwick threw the lock on the door and went for the trap door to her studio. As she shut it someone was banging against her door. She raced to the window and climbed out onto the roof heading for the neighbors. She could hear Paul screaming to Brock. “ She’s on the roof!” Renwick leapt across to her neighbor’s roof and scurried across it. Brock had come back down and was following her on the ground. The cameraman raced after Brock and Renwick. She scampered down the side of the house but was caught around the waist by Brock. Renwick let out a scream but a cloth was shoved into her mouth with another one wrapped around her head. Heyman walked up and took her wrists while Brock finished tying the gag off. Paul then handed a heavy chain that he had been holding in his and to Brock who wrapped and locked it around her wrists. Brock handed the free end to Paul. “ Go get the car I’ll wait here with her.” Heyman motioned for the cameraman to come closer. “ I truly didn’t think he’d be stupid enough to leave you here but he did. But not to worry you’ll see him real soon.” Brock came back with an explorer. Heyman opened the backseat and pushed the struggling Renwick in before closing the door and climbing in the passengers seat and leaving the cameraman behind. Everyone in the arena stood stunned. Taker had gone off on the opponent who was trapped in the ring with him when the feed had come on. There was only one thing that played in their favor Heyman didn’t know the truth that Renwick was really Kane’s child and as long as no one told them then Renwick’s life was safe. Taker climbed out of the ring blindly walking back to the lockeroom. Sara stood there glaring when he got back.
“ Kane called.”
“ I imagine he did.”
“ You have a daughter?”
“ No, Kane has a daughter.”
“ But they said she was yours.”
“ Originally we thought she was mine. But Kane had a DNA test done and it was proven she wasn’t mine.”
“ So all this time you’ve been away you’ve been with her and Kane?”
“ Yes I wanted to make sure she was safe.”
“ Why she’s not yours.” Taker turned and looked at her anger brewing in his eyes.
“ She’s blood, she is my niece and cousin to the baby growing in your stomach.”
“ Oh no she’s not.” Sara quickly covered her mouth.
“ What?”
“ Nothing.” Taker stood to his full height.
“ Who’s is it?”
“ I…I”
“ If that child inside of you isn’t mine then who’s is it?” She kept backing up stuttering. Brock came on air again as they replayed the footage from earlier. Sara looked at Brock before looking back at her husband. “ It’s Brock’s isn’t it? That’s why you get all nervous whenever I talk about him, or anyone mentions him. You had an affair with him and he knocked you up. Then you lied and told me it was mine.” Taker was yelling by this point. “ Go back to the hotel and don’t bother coming back to the house.” He picked up his bag storming out. His cell phone rang and he growled into it.
“ What in the fuck do you have to be pissed off about. I’m ready to come down there and kick your ass.”
“ Look Kane I just fond out my wife is having another mans baby I’m not in the mood.”
“ She what?”
“ She had an affair with Brock, got knocked up by him, and then lied about it.”
“ Okay I stand corrected you have as much right to be pissed of as I do. Look how are we going to get her back? Brock will bring her to you. I say we sit and wait. Right now that’s the only thing we can do.”

Flair and Triple H stood smirking as Renwick was drug into the room. Lesner had attached a second heavy chain to the one already around her wrists so he could easily pull her around.
“ So this is Renwick, daughter of the infamous Katie Vick.”
“ How dare you smear my mother and father’s past all over national Television.”
“ What have you been saying about Taker?”
“ Nothing but I think it maybe wise to point out that she’s not Taker’s kid, she’s Kane’s. Which will make her twice as valuable to them.”
“ Why?”
“ Because she’s Kane’s only heir. The brothers will do anything to ensure her safety, and I mean anything.”
“ You think we could get the belt from Taker?”
“ Easily.” Brock gave a hard tug to the chain bringing her closing.
“ Best of all they can’t come save her.”
“ Really?”
“ Her adoptive parents have put a restraining order on the brothers they can’t get near her and they can’t communicate with her in any way.”
“ You know they could lift the restraining order.” They all looked at her. Brock went to hit her but Trips stopped him.
“ No she show’s up injured and they may not be cooperative. But you may want to put that gag back in particularly to keep the smartass comments to just her. Let me take her to Raw with me parade her around in front of Daddy dearest. Use her to get a few shots in on him.” Brock tossed the chain to him.
“ Bring her back. We went through a great deal of trouble to catch her.” Hunter gave the chain a hard pull dragging her closer.
“ You know you could just ask me to come over, I’m not a dog.”
“ Say’s who? Consider no one beating your ass up the only positive thing that will happen out of this little experience.” The door burst open and a very pregnant Sara rushed in.
“ What is she doing here?”
“ Taker knows.”
“ About what?”
“ The baby.” Renwick looked at her.
“ I should certainly hope so.” Sara looked at her and slapped her.
“ This is all your fault.”
“ Like hell they’re the ones who looked me up, blame them.” Sara ripped the necklace containing the pendant and ring. She tossed them to Heyman.
“ Take these to my husband, and tell them they have till this baby is born.”
“ What do we do then?”
“ Make her Vanish.”
Kane paced his dressing room with hurricane watching. The superhero jumped up pointing to the TV.
“ I think you better take a look at this.”
“ What, its just Hunter and Flair arriving.”
“ What that in Triple H’s hand? It looks like a chain.”
“ Better question is what is on the other end?” Both of them saw Hunter drag what was on the other of the chain out of the car. Renwick stumbled out of the car and landed hard on her knees.
“ What’s up with that?”
“ Call my brother tell him to get his ass over here now.” Kane ran out hoping to catch Hunter. He searched the arena finally finding her chained to a pole with a rag in her mouth keeping her quiet. Her hands were above her head forcing her to stand on her tippy toes. When Kane walked up to her she was feverishly shaking her head. He had to hold her head still to get the gag out.
“ Get out, get away from me.”
“ Why?”
“ It’s a trap.” The door slammed and Kane felt a sledgehammer slam into his back. He dropped to his knees next to his daughter. “ No leave him alone!” Hunter took shots on Kane’s sides. However Kane got up holding his sides and glared at Hunter.
“ Let her go.” Hunter took the hammer to Kane’s stomach forcing him back to his knees.
“ No.”
“ Then what will it take?”
“ How in the hell should I know? I’m just doing this for the hell of it.” Hunter went to bring the Sledgehammer down on Kanes head. Renwick pulled herself up and kicked Hunter in the back. He turned around and grabbed her throat. “ If you don’t shut up and do what your told I will lock out on the balcony of my hotel room for the of the time your with me with nothing but a hand towel for a blanket.” Kane growled forcing Hunter to let go. The angered giant started to rise but Ric Flair came out of the shadows and smashed a chair over Kanes head knocking him out.
“ You want me to do the same thing to her, it’ll shut her up.”
“ No then we’ll have to carry her.”
“ You want to let her dangle for a little while?”
“ No he won’t be out long. Just get her quiet, taker her down and lets go.”
“ We have to feed her too.”
“ We’ll take care of that at the hotel.” Ric took the keys out of his pocket and none to gently let her down.
When Taker arrived at the arena Flair and Helmsley were long gone and Kane was being loaded into an ambulance.
“ What in the fucking hell happened?”
“ Helmsley and Flair jumped him.”
“ When do you think he’ll regain consciousness?”
“ I’m not sure but your welcome to follow me to the hospital.”
“ I insist.” A few hours later Kane opened his eyes seeing her brother.
“ Did you catch them, is she safe?”
“ No, did they tell you why they did this?”
“ For the hell of it.”
“ Well I got a nice piece of disturbing news.”
“ What?”
“ We have till Sara gives birth to meet any and all demands made on us, or they kill Renwick.”
“ How long is that?”
“ Less than a month. She could give birth any day.”
“ So give Lesner the damn belt. That damn thing isn’t worth my daughters life.”
“ That won’t make them let her go. We have to find her.”
