Better late than never, this is the Second review of K-Dogg.
Now K has been an active rper in New Era Wrestling for some time now. His determination to win championships shows his gut determination to be recognized as one of the greats.
Review...
From my last review, K-Dogg showed allot of promise. He was inches away in my opinion of receiving a Contender status.
Description wise in which I quoted as needing improvement has shown much more promise and is of Contender status. Still needs that special something in order to reach Elite quality.
But he has jumped a rank from Mid-Carder to Contender in this department. But it tends to get a bit short which is worrying i.e..
Too Tuff: Sounds good. You know where to go and how to get there?
:: K Dogg nods ::
K Dogg: Yup. It's at his house. And my sources tell me that it's not hard to find at all.
Too Tuff: Good deal. He won't know what hit him.
:: K Dogg nods in agreement ::
If K-Dogg added some emotion into his character along with his actions, then it would open allot more doors to his characters potential.
Only advice I can offer is.. Look around for some major players in the NEW roster, ones for having a reputation in creativity and read their work and study the emotional side to their character and how they react to situations around them.
Plenty of practice will pay off eventually. Time is something one must endure when improving ones self.
So for now I feel the status of Contender has been well earned by K-Dogg. But some work has to be made before Elite comes into view.
But again, practice makes perfect. Good luck K, I know your up for the challenge.
A Bit about K-Dogg...
K Diggy Dogg was born and raised in the streets of South Central LA. His family wasn't rich and he frequently had to steal stereos, tv's, and various other items and sell them on the streets just to help his family get through the tough times. He eventually got into doing drugs and alcohol and eventually got involved with gangs. He was inducted into the infamous Venice 13 gang. There he roamed the streets of Venice and traveled to his hometown. After nearly being killed in a drive-by shooting, he decided to get his life on track and do something with it. So he contacted his good friend Too Tuff. Tuff was excited to hear from his long lost friend. He told Diggy that he had he own wrestling federation. He told him that if he wanted to, that he could start training and join his fed, the CWA.
He didn't think twice about doing it, so he got on the next flight to Oakland. He arrived there where Tuff met him at the airport. They went out and had a good time that night and talked about the good times that they have had. The next day, Tuff showed Diggy his own training center called Too Tuff's Playaz Training Center. He goes in and is amazed at what his good friend has done with the place. Diggy started hitting the weights and the ring immediately that day. He took to the ring well. He quickly learned how things were done and he soon got into action. He came into the CWA with full force and quickly became a fan favorite. He decided that he was more of a hardcore type of person than normal. He knew he could go hardcore especially after wwhat he had gone through on the streets and with Venice 13. The CWA soon went under because of underfunding from the sponsers. So, Tuff then went onto the GCW wrestling organization. Diggy went back to the gym and continued to hit the weights. He then joined the GCW and continued his glorious career there. He has had great success there and now he is going for the world title. He is also in the RWW organization where is has rejoined his long time friend Too Tuff on the Tag Team circuit. When he joined up with the RWW, he dropped Diggy, and is now known as K Dogg. Together, they have tore the RWW apart in search for gold. Tuff got his world title, but K Dogg was repeatedly screwed out of whatever title he had an opprotunity to get. But at Blaze of Glory, it all hit the fan, as Tuff and Dogg created some problems, and as a result of that, Tuff was robbed of the world title, and they were both suspended. Not too long after that, RWW joined up with New Era Wrestling and created one of the most elite group of wrestlers on the planet. There, they held onto the tag tam titles once again, before the NEW went under. K Dogg is now back in the RWW fighting to keep the Real RWW alive. Along with long time tag team partner Too Tuff, and friends Stupac, Jester, Ian Payne, Pantera, and a few others, they are fighting the war against Rob Gamble.
Review...
K-Dogg takes on the persona of streetwise character in the way he talks and acts.. The Gangsta Identity.
Although a very common idea in the E-Fed World he shows good streetwise talk and words that those on the streets would use... Isn't a yo yo yo kind of character, he's done his research on the persona he's mimicking.
Short Descriptions in emotions, movement to help us keep track of his mood and development through each of his stories. but lacks in the location department.
I like the box in his Rp that shows the key to all his writing formats, telling you what is speech, thought, narration etc.
Helping the reader understand what is what as to help those develop and not make mi stakes.. Myself in the past has fallen for rp's that I thought were speech but were nothing more than narration. K-Dogg helps in the development of his opponents, good team player.
Storyline wise I feel a grand development ensuing as K's Sub-Characters. Tuff & Demonic are looking to be drifting towards a rift between Tuff's former Girlfriend, now Demonic's girlfriend, Jade.
I feel the need for a good plot development here, one K-Dogg's Writer can't let slip away as it will really help K-Dogg get further up that Title Ladder in NEW and impress the judges. I hope to see K-Dogg become better than the rest of those Gangsta style writers as it is a very popular as well as.. Competitive Character base.
One needs to be ahead of the game to be noticed above all the others with similar background.
So far the Spelling is decent tearing apart the Streetwise words like 'lil' & 'dawg' which are mean 't to be spelt that way in his speech show the character to be streetwise. Realism is the key to making this type of persona work well through the way you deliberately miss-spell words.
There is the odd mistake here and there, nothing serious that a good spell checker and proof read can't handle.
Description of Environment is his weakest flaw, though he recognizes that one needs to describe his whereabouts to give the reader a full picture of where they are and what they are doing here?
Still I feel that some of the words don't gel together properly and he needs to improve on that. Advice on this is that he can read up on NEW's current Champion's and study how they deal with the quality of description.
Remember.. Assimilation of others specific quality onto your own character can greatly improve your Characters quality and chances of getting an Elite on the Top 50.
Not saying that you should copy them down to the T.. But recognize your weaknesses and study those that you feel are better in that field.
All in all, K-Dogg has the Persona down just right, nothing to worry about there.
But quality in description is letting him down and this is what he should be targeting at present.
Mid-Carder status is what he shall receive for now, but he isn't far off from Contender. Improve description on environment and emotion and that'll be all K-Dogg needs to get Contender Status. K-Dogg looks to have the qualities to improve and make a name for himself in a very Competitive New Era Wrestling.
I hope he does become a future thorn in the NEW Champion's collective sides.
