Why would anyone build a site honouring The Brooklyn Brawler?
He did after all lose the vast majority of his matches. He hasn't held any major titles in his long stint as an active WWE wrestler. He was never elevated to the same level as most of his fellow WWE superstars. The man is little more than a jumped up jobber dammitt!!! While all this may be true when viewed in black and white there are a couple of things that make The Brawler stand out among other wrestlers. There is after all more to wrestling than an impressive manufactured win/loss record (cough.. Goldberg.. cough). First and foremost the man the fans love to hate has outlasted every other wrestler who has ever set foot in a WWE ring. Many great men, for example; Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, The Ultimate Warrior, HBK Shawn Michaels, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Razor Ramon... the list goes on, have all come and gone (and yes, some have come again!) during The Brawlers tenure as an active WWE wrestler. Also the professionalism The Brawler has shown throughout his career is second to none. Shawn Michaels once complimented the Brawler by acknowledging that "he never had a problem laying down for anyone". This comment cannot be argued against. Countless times during the Brawlers career he has done the job and put over his fellow superstars. Many times the men The Brawler put over have been inferior to him in seniority, wrestling ability and crowd appeal. Despite not having the greatest win/loss record of all time the appeal of the Brawler has always been fantastic. Despite never being a major player inside the squared circle The Brooklyn Brawler has as much name recognition as any of the men mentioned above. And that's gotta be worth something. This site, incase you havn't realised is in appreciation of one of the finest professionals we have ever seen in a wrestling ring... Steve Lombardi AKA The Brooklyn Brawler. |
