"The Comeback"

Defeat. Defeat is possibly the worse feeling that anyone in this world can feel. Defeat is what you have when you have failed to be victorious. It’s what you have when you put a lot of hard work into trying to accomplish something, and you end up failing. It has to be the worse feeling in the world. It’s the feeling that the Los Angeles Lakers felt after they lost in the NBA Championships this year. It’s the feeling that the Oakland Raiders felt after losing the Super Bowl a few years back. It’s the feeling that the Anaheim Mighty Ducks had after losing the Stanley Cup a few years back. And it’s also the feeling that the Los Angeles Dodgers, as well as their fans, feel after they always come up very short of making it to the World Series. And of course, it’s the feeling that XWF Superstar, “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles have felt of late. This may explain why he has been absent from live television lately. Was he injured in that hellacious ladder match? No. Was he just not being booked in matches? No. Was he just constantly getting lost heading to the arenas where the show was for that not. Unless he let Terry navigate, No. A.J. has simply just been feeling the effects of defeat. You really can’t blame the guy, as he has failed to capture any title he was given a shot at. So I guess after realizing this truth, it was time for him to sit himself down, look in the mirror, and decided where he goes from here? Does he continue on with the sport he once had a passion for? Or does he just give up, not wanting to deal with the woes of defeat anymore? This is something A.J. has been contemplating for the past couple of weeks. And I think it’s time for us to find out just what his decision was.

*SCENE*

As we go to the current scene, Terry and John are seen standing outside the TK Warehouse, in Orlando, the site of this week’s XWF Fury Show. They are once again waiting to see of A.J. will show up.

Terry- So do you think he’ll show up this week? Remember, he didn’t show last week. And we ended up waiting out here the whole night, missing the show. AND I WANTED TO SEE RYODO AND RED WIN THE BELTS!!!

John- Well, that’s just too bad, isn’t it? But we’re gonna wait out here for him again. If he doesn’t show up this week, and we’ll do the same thing next week. And we’ll just keep on doing it, until he comes back.

Terry- Yeah, leave it to A.J. to leave no way of contacting him.

John- Yeah, that was weird. No answer on his phone. No answer at his house. Rather strange.

Terry- Maybe those aliens who stuck that anal probe in me abducted him. And now he has an anal probe too.

John- I highly doubt that. But then again, I guess you never know. I just hope he hasn’t decided to quit.

Terry- Why? Because you don’t want to see him give up on his passion and dream job?

John- No, because I want to keep my job! With out him, I’M UNEMPLOYEED!!!

Terry- Um, okay…

John- But yeah, it would suck to see him just give up.

???- Yeah, it would suck if I just gave up, wouldn’t it?

Terry/John- A.J.!!!

Terry- I knew you’d show up.

John- Yeah, never lost faith in you.

A.J.- Yeah, I just couldn’t live with myself if I allow John here to go on unemployment. So for his sake, I’ll comeback, and do what I love to do most.

Terry- Well ain’t that nice. He’s coming back for you John.

John- Um, he was being sarcastic Terry.

Terry- Oh. Anyway, where have you been?

John- Yeah, where have you been? Oh yeah, NEVER LEAVE ME ALONE WITH TERRY AGAIN!!!

A.J.- Don’t worry. All of that will be answered right now. I’ve already called into the corporate office, and I was able to get an appearance tonight. So any questions you have, will probably be answered when I speak. So you guys better head inside, so you can watch.

A.J. heads inside the arena. Before John and Terry could get inside, a car speeds by, and some big fat guy is mooning both John and Terry as the car passes by.

John- Pssh. Jerk.

Terry- Was that an elephant?

*SCENE*

The show has just got back from it’s commercial break. The fans in attendance have no idea that they are about to be treated with a surprise appearance by none other that “The Phenomenal One” himself, A.J. Styles. “Immortal” by Adema blares throughout the arena, as the fans begin to rise up to their feet, and scream their lungs out. A.J. then makes his way onto the entrance stage, and receives a huge ovation from the fans. A.J. smirks, nods with agreement towards the fans, and begins to make his way down to the ring. As he enters the ring, the ring announcer hands him the microphone, and steps out of the ring. A.J. now stands dead center of the ring, and begins to speak as the fans begin to settle down.

A.J.- How you all doing? Nice to see you all survived Hurricane Frances, and were able to come out and see us.

The fans let out a huge pop.

A.J.- Yeah, no hurricane could take out the XWF fans. Especially if you one of the “Phenomenals”. And of course, by that, I mean fans of yours truly.

The fans let out another big pop.

A.J.- Alright. Now it’s time for me to address a serious issue at hand. Ever since Summer Scorch, I haven’t been seen or heard from. So of course, people wanted to know what had happened to me. And the interesting thing about this, was that several rumors about this popped up all over the place, and especially, on the internet. Lets see what I can remember…..Oh yeah, one rumor said that I had been fired, due to me getting into a fist fight with Brad Cunnings after the Pay-Per-View, which didn’t happen by the way. Another one said that I was being sent to Japan, in order to promote the XWF, and make it more internationally known. And my favorite rumor, had to be the one, where I supposedly, “came out of the closet”, and ended up marrying and going on my honey moon, with a man named Rico. As interesting as all of these rumors are, I must confirm that all of them are false. And I think it’s time to reveal the real reason why I’ve been gone the past couple of weeks.

A.J.- Simply put, I just didn’t want to wrestle anymore. I guess I was tired of defeat, and just didn’t feel like putting up with it anymore. If you look at my record here in the XWF, I’ve pretty much been given a shot at every title possible, and I always fell short in every match. When it came to the Xtreme Title, Eminem was able to beat me cleanly, as well as the other 4 men in that match. When it came to the World Title, in what was probably the finest match in my career, Brad Cunnings was able to get the clean win over me. When it came to the Tag Titles, Osiris decided to get involved, causing a DQ decision, right when Uncensored and I had the match won. And just recently, when it came to the Television Title, D-S was able to climb that ladder, and grab that belt, putting another defeat in my record.

A.J.- So you can see, title matches haven’t treated “The Phenomenal One’ with much respect here in the XWF. That last loss really made me think. “Is what I’m doing really worth it?” Is this really worth all the pain I go through every match I have? Is this really worth all the sacrifices I make, by having to spend time away from my family? And is this really all worth it, especially if I’m going to end up on the losing end when it matters the most? Right after that last match, I pretty much has the answer to all this in my head. And believe me, it was an answer that all my fans would have been disappointed with. So before I finally decided on anything, I needed a break. I spent 2 weeks away from the XWF, to see how I would do with out it, and how it would do with out me. So I sat at home, watch the XWF shows whenever they would come on, and I began to realize, just how boring this show was without me.

The fans give a pop.

A.J.- Yeah, that’s right. You guys knew that too. I also soon began missing being inside that ring. I missed hearing my entrance music blare out of the speakers, right before I’d make my grand entrance. I missed hearing the cheers from all the fans, as I made my way out from behind the curtain. I missed flying over these ropes on a weekly basis. And of course, I missed hitting the Styles Clash on the victims that would fall prey to it. So if that wasn’t enough for you, or you just weren’t paying attention, due to the fact that you have ADD, “THE PHENOMENAL ONE” IS BACK BABY!!!

The fans let out a enormous pop.

A.J.- Yeah, that’s right. And even though I may have failed in the past, I’m coming back with a vengence, and I, as well as the rest of Triple X, will shake this federation down to it’s foundation. And before I came out here, I was told that I was already booked for a match this week. So either the XWF anticipated that I would come back this week, or they came up with it as soon as they found out I was in the building. And it looks like I’m going up against a new guy, by the name of Seymour. Now I don’t know too much about this guy. But let me assure you. This Monday night, on Fury, Seymour will be my first victim, and an example of what’s to come from the comeback of “The Phenomenal One”, A.J. Styles!!!

With that being said, “Immortal” begins to play, the fans rise up to their feet again, and for the hell of it, A.J. tosses the microphone out into the crowd, as everyone makes a dash to try and catch it. Seeing this, the ring announcer quickly dashes out into the crowd, as he needs the mic to perform the only job he has. So with out that mic, he’ll probably be fired. The scene then fades out into a commercial break.
