Well first off, I want to appologize for not getting a commentary out last week. My travelling schedule didn't leave me any time for anything. Hopefully I can make up for missing last weeks with a good one this week. Now I just need to think of stuff to talk about.
I was reading Guillotine Legrande's website the other day (www.guillotinelegrande.com). I highly recommend that everyone make their way to his site and read his latest commentary. I believe it was done sometime near the end of July. In the commentary he talks about his retirement from he wrestling business along with many other things including a special message to his Mom. A very touching commentary and even if you have never seen Guillotine in action, it's a definite must read. Guillotine is a fantastic human being and I wish him all the best in whatever path he decides to take.
This past Thursday I wrestled out in Winnipeg Manitoba for Top Rope Championship Wrestling. This was my first experience on a TRCW show. I wrestled against one of my Stampede Wrestling partners, "Hot Shot" Johnny Devine. The promoter Bobby Jay came to the ring and offered me a nice chunk of cash if I beat Hot Shot, so, since it's always nice to have some extra cash, I wrestled him, and with the K-Drill, I pinned him. Bobby Jay then came to the ring to hand over the money. I think we all know what happened here.....I took the money, and myself and the Chemical Cowboys beat the hell out of Bobby Jay. So it turned out well. I did feel a little bad for beating the hell out of Devine, so I carried him back to the dressing room. The match felt pretty good for the most part, but the ropes had me a little worried. After the show we took some pictures with the harriest, weirdest ringcrew guy I have ever met. I will eventually put those pictures up as the pictures of the week, but I don't have them developed yet.
It is always an interesting trip when riding with The Chemical Cowboys and Johnny Devine. Nothing compares to being on the road with guys that don't annoy you. Everyone has stories and jokes to tell, it makes long road trips seem alot shorter. On the way back we drove through some of the strangest weather I have ever seen. The clouds were layers of black, I was certain a tornado (not Tony Kozina), was going to drop down right on top of us. It was raining so hard that we couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of us. Of course I loved it, but it eventually stopped. I took some pictures of the clouds, hopefully they turn out so I can show everyone how crazy it looked.
My sister's wedding is now over. It was pretty uneventful other than "someone" trying to put the ring on the wrong hand. I am not a fan of weddings at all, but this one turned out pretty good, everyone had a great time and believe it or not, the priest was pretty damn funny. I didn't get to wear the red velvet OR even the red socks that I was promised, but I will forgive the Juggersister...THIS time.
The pre-wedding golf game was also a good time. I didn't play very well and ended up shooting a 12 over par 84. To my own credit, the course was pretty tough and I did get the 3rd best score out of 20 guys. The winner ended up shooting a 79. I will have a picture taken right before teeing off, I'm not sure if I'll have it by the time I post this Juggerstories tomorrow or not, but we'll have to wait and see.
I think I am going to get out golfing again this week, maybe to Beaver Dam golf course again. That was the course I shot a 6 over 78 last time, so now that I have played it once, in theory, I should be able to shoot even better since I know a couple of the tricks.
I have a few movies to talk about this week, first off, I went and saw Austin Powers "Goldmember". It was funny, Mini-me was hysterical, the poor little bugger got the crap kicked out of him for the entire movie, Fat Bastard was great and the newest character, Goldmember, was fantastic as well. I actually had to pay for the movie this time, but it was still well worth it.
We started watching Kung Pow: Enter the Fist yesterday, but we only made it through about 45 minutes before we had to shut it off. Quite possibly the worst thing I have ever seen. I only spent $1.20 to rent it, but I am still having a very hard time justifying that $1.20, and the fighting cow scene is worth about 75 cents on it's own, so that tells you how good the rest of the movie was.
The last movie I'll talk about this week is John Q starring Denzel Washington. Great movie! A bit of a tear jerker for those of you that cry in movies, but it was fantastic. Basically it's about a family that can't afford to get their son a heart transplant, and there is a big insurance problem, so the dad, Denzel, goes a little crazy to get his kid on the donors list. Good stuff!! Not to mention it trashes the US medical system and makes me say "Thank God I'm Canadian".
I never got any of the pictures I talked about earlier done in time, so I have to go back in the archives and pull out some pictures of the week.
This first one might be kind of hard to see but it's a ticket for an IWA Japan Wrestling show from back in 2000. That's me on the top far left, then Tarzan Goto, Leatherface and Kurrgan.
This next picture is actually a freeze frame of WCW Thunder from a couple years back, it's right before I took the "High Times" from Kronik in the first match of the night. You'll see the good ole Ladies Choice lying dead in the background after taking the meltdown from Brian Clarke.
I am relocting once again at the end of the month. Still going to be in Calgary, but the damn landlords went and sold the place out from under us. Makes me want to kick them square in the balls. So, alas, I back up my 4 bags once again and head out somewhere else.
Well I can't think of a while lot more to type about for this week, so I think I'm done.
Until next time.....Chicks Dig Scars..... Go check out Goldmember........ Golfing is good....... Good Luck Guillotine, keep in touch..... Alliwherethehellarethepicturesyouwanttouseforyourpage? ....and For the love of god, don't rent Kung Pow!!!
