I finally made it out to check out a movie this past week. Yesterday, I went and saw the new movie 8 Mile with Eminem. I heard alot of good things about it, and I've wanted to see it ever since I heard that fantastic song by Eminem, Lose Yourself. The movie definitally did not disapoint. I thought it was fantastic, and Eminem did a excellent job playing "Rabbit". Regardless, it was a bit of a typecast, since the movie is loosely based around his own life, but he really looked like a natural in front of the camera. Brittany Murphy was hot in a slutty kind of way, but you have to appreciate that to a point. Kim Bassinger confused me, I couldn't decide whether to hate her or not. Everyone needs to get out and see this one, unless of course you are too damn young, then maybe you should not go see it.....ah hell!! go see it anyway, someone in a kid's life needs to be a bad influence, and this time I'll take the rap for it.
I recently took another booking for Pro Outlaw Wrestling in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. The show is scheduled for December 1st in Saskatoon. I'm not exactly sure on a few of the details, but from what I understand, the show is taking place in a bar and I am scheduled to be in a 3 way match. No idea who the opponents will be yet (some kind of stupid suprise) but I will let everyone know when I find out. I would give the POW website info now, but apparently their website got roasted somehow, and my lack of website knowledge certainly can't shed any light on the situation. I may have a couple little suprises for the fans of POW, you never know what (or who) I may pull out of my bag of tricks.
The OFFICIAL first snowfall for Calgary is now upon us. I say the official, because last time it snowed, the sun melted away everything in a couple days, I don't think it's going to happen this time. The roads are horrible and the rdivers are even worse. I can remember when I was living in Florida, the drivers would turn to shit when it rained, well it;s the same thing with snow here. Guess what people, snow + sunshine + cold = ICE....dipshits!! You can't go bombing down a road and expect to stop right away when there is a nice quarter inch layer of ice on the road underneath you, I really don't care what kind of "Goodyear super sticky walnut shell tiger claw (with the water channel)" tires you have, YOU WILL STILL SLIDE!! I think there should be some kind of stupidity meter on the side of vehicles so you know when you are dealing with someone that is a bit "touched".
I recently moved into 1st place in one of my hockey pools. I was taking a little bit of abuse from some of the other guys in the pool, but now they can all sit behind me and observe true hockey pool greatness. I had no doubt, but some people never learn. I am confidentally sitting in 5th place in another pool, but just like a long distance runner or a cyclist, I'm just letting everyone else do all the work while I coast along getting ready to make a run on the pack at just the right time.
This Friday is Stampede Wrestling here in Calgary. I am scheduled to be in a tag team match with Apocalypse against "Hot Shot" Johnny Devine and the Highlander. As I mentioned last week, the last Stampede show had one of the best matches I had ever seen between Harry Smith and TJ Wilson. That match was a semi-finals match for the Commonwealt mid-heavyweight title tournament. This time around there is a 3 way match for the title featuring Kwik Kick Kirk Melnyk, TJ Wilson and Bruce Hart. I've been impressed with Melnyk lately so this match should turn out pretty good. While I'm on the topic of Stampede Wrestling, I might as well do the first picture of the week, which is the poster for this Friday's show.
This next picture was taken a couple months ago on tour with NHB Wrestling. It's myself and Johnny Smith. If you don't know, Johnny Smith was a big star for Stampede Wrestling back a while ago, and now he is a huge star in Japan. He is probably one of the most technically sound wrestlers I have ever seen and is a great guy. (I look like I just woke up)
Apparently there is a new book out called "One Ring Circus". This book is a pictoral about Indy wrestling, and features many photos taken from 1999 to the present in and around the Vancouver wrestling scene. From what I have been told, there are many pictures featuring myself and a few of my friends in the business. The photos were all taken by a great photographer by the name of Brian Howell. I'd like to congratulate him on his book. I haven't had the chance to see it yet, but I am supposed to have a copy sent to me soon, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm not sure where people can pick it up, but if you find it somewhere, I hear it is very good and well worth buying. I'm sure you can probably order it through Chapters or Indigo books. Once I find out more about it I'll let everyone know.
Well Tiger Woods 2003 is calling my name, so I believe that will be about all for this week, so....Until next time....... Chicks Dig Scars......... 8675309 SMASH Chicken SMASH!!! ......... Come check out Stampede Wrestling this Friday.......... go see 8 Mile ......... and try to find "One Ring Circus".
