Inuyasha
A half human half demon guy. His parents consisted of a very famous dog demon ruler of the western lands that was his father and a beautiful miko (priestess) that was a human was his mother. He has a half brother named Sesshoumaru who had a different mother than Inuyasha. Inuyasha uses a sword called Tetsusaiga forged from his own father's fang. It was found in Inuyasha's right eye which is called "The Right Black Pearl" in the comic book and the TV show. That was also where his father's grave was. His basic attack is "Kaze no Kizu" and his ultimate attack is "Bakuryuuha". Bakuryuuha isn't shown until the later episodes and it didn't air on TV yet, but it's a really cool attack. When he mastered that technique, he could use Kaze no Kizu whenever you wanted, but in order to use it, his enemy would have to have a really strong battle aura. Inuyasha's love life is very complicating. At first, he loved Priestess Kikyo until a demon called Naraku made them betray each other. Kikyo died and Inuyasha was trapped in a enchanted sleep for 50 years until, Kagome came along and freed him. And ever since episode 1, the quest in search of the jewel shards had begun with mixed feelings for each other.
Kagome
Reincarnated priestess of Kikyo. She's a girl from the future who happened to have fallen into an ancient well at her shrine/house. She travels through time using the ancient well. Her only parent is her mother. Maybe you could count her grandpa as her parent as well. They never mentioned anything about her having a father. She has a little brother name, Sota, who she cares for a lot and a fat cat named Buyo. When she met Inuyasha, he mistook her for Kikyo and they argued about who she really was. Her weapons consist of random miko powers and her bow and arrow. In one of the episodes, Kagome breaks the jewel shard with her arrow and now is on a quest with Inuyasha to find the shards of the jewel. Their feelings become stronger with every episode. When Kagome catches Inuyasha and Kikyo kissing/hugging she runs away crying or stays frozen in place and sits Inuyasha later on. She has many admirers at school and at the Feudal Era and they are: Hojo, Kouga, and Inuyasha.
Sango
Demon Exterminator. Her family and village was killed in a battle against Naraku and she was the only survivor. Her weapon is her Hiraikotsu (Boomerang made from demon bones) and rarely swords. She has a cat demon named Kirara (In english it's spelt, Kilala) who helps in many ways in battle and her daily life. She had a little brother named Kohaku, who died in the battle against Naraku and is now controlled by Naraku. She joins Kagome and Inuyasha in their quest for the jewel shards and beating Naraku.
Miroku
Lecherous Monk/Priest. Miroku's ancestor was killed by a kazaana in his right hand that was formed by Naraku and was passed on through generations until it was Miroku's turn to inherit the curse. He meets Kagome and Inuyasha at a hot spring and they introduce themselves after a few gropes and slaps here and there. His weapons are his kazaana (the void in his right hand) and sometimes his staff or scrolls with spells. Occasionally, Miroku would perform "exorcisms" to earn money for the inns. Sometimes they're fake and sometimes real. He loves being around the village girls and groping them or telling their fortunes. But he can be a really nice guy if he stops his lecherous behavior.
Shippo
Kitsune/fox child. His father died in a battle against the Thunder Brothers and he tried to avenge his death on his own. However, Kagome and Inuyasha helped Shippo defeat the Thunder Brothers and avenge his father's death. Shippo uses fox fire in most of the battles he fought, but in some battles he uses his little fox tricks or gadgets (e.g. The giant top, giant boulder). Most of the time, he would hide during battles. Shippo is also a shapeshifter and can provide transportation. He loves to eat the candy and sweets that Kagome brings from her time and he gets picked on Inuyasha a lot.
Kirara
Cat demon. Sango's father gave Kirara to her when she was a little girl. Kirara also helps Inuyasha train and she plays with Shippo whenever they're bored. She helps the gang in many ways. For transportation and fighting battles.
